It all started in 1952 when our founder, Nathan Swartz, bought a half-interest in the Abington Shoe Company. He worked his way up from an apprenticeship after immigrating to the United States and eventually bought out his partner and welcomed his sons into the business. The Abington Shoe Company soon moved to Newmarket, New Hampshire, located in a tiny corner of New England known for its majestic mountain ranges, rocky shorelines, dense forests, rivers, lakes, and access to great east coast cities. This part of the world experiences every type of weather—blizzards, instant rainstorms, bitter winters, and summer heat waves.
In 1973 our waterproof boots called the “Timberland” were invented. They were rugged, well-crafted, and—thanks to an innovative injection molding technique which was new and they withstood the elements. These premium “yellow” boots set new standards for waterproof performance in the footwear. They became equally popular with outdoor enthusiasts who needed protection in all conditions, professional trade workers who needed rugged dependable gear, and many others who just wanted a great looking pair of boots. These boots defined our brand. They were so groundbreaking that in 1978 we renamed the entire company. Timberland’s heritage of hard work, innovation, and love of nature continues. We are here to inspire and equip the world to step outside, work together and make it better. Today, we find the outdoors everywhere, from right outside our doors to places far beyond. Arrived quickly. Nice looking and comfortable shoes. Size was a little bit too large.

This is my second pair of, Timberland Men’s White Ledge Mid Waterproof Ankle Boot’s. The first pair was
purchased in late 2018 or maybe very early 2019. The boots out of the box fit great and quickly became the most comfortable pair of everyday footwear I owned.
After three(+) years of everyday use/miles the heels began showing slight wear. Going online in hopes of finding the same model I discovered and purchased the second pair and true to history the boots fit great right out of the box.
My first pair have now been reassigned as my, ‘yard’, boots and the recently purchased boots are proudly worn to church, out to dinner, to the winter beach, and everywhere else, except the yard where my first pair holds distinction.

Fit well, comfortable wear.
Bought these for UPS delivery wear. They take brown polish and shine very nicely.
We shall see if they can withstand the rigors of hard footwear. Nothing stands up to the rigors of daily continuous delivery duty but, we’ll see how long these hold up under real duress.
Everyday use…. previous boots re fading and/or peeling on top. We have purchased these for years and have decided to give it a last chance. Otherwise, it is not worth it buying these any more.
Love these boots. It has been a while since i owned a pair of Timberland’s. They are lighter than my previous versions and super warm. Traction appears to be satisfactory and my feet well supported. The scuff a bit, but i also get they are a boot.
Don’t get express delivery it took a bit longer than expected got my money back so apart from that they are good boots
I got these boots a two weeks before a big trip to the Smokeys, and was worried I wouldn’t have enough time to break them in, but they were pretty much good to go right out of the box. They’re insanely light, about as light as my sneakers, completely water proof, great support. Taken on 3 major trips now, absolutely no complaints.
This nice pair of boots do not disappoint they come true to size i wear size 8 in sneakers and same in these…. they are some lightweight cant really expected not to be for a pair of boots … i have been wearing them for long days and i don’t really get too tired of wearing them as with others … I had a different pair which were chunkier heavier and which i would always be tripping with… these on contrast feel just right … resistant and flexible…. only con …. in my personal opinion its the toe front… I’m thinking of getting a toe protector…. timberland boots usually last but I’d like to keep them longer … definitely would recommend
It fits as expected because I tried it out in a store and ordered it online ( slightly cheaper online ) . After a year of wearing the leather has lost its shine ( see picture attached) . Hence I am looking for some kind of polish to make it look better . The shoes are very comfortable . Use it daily for work and also use it outdoor for hiking etc.
I’ve owned my own lawn service for 30 years, so I know a few things about work boots! I always need waterproof boots/shoes for the biggest part of the day. With boots there is always a big break in period before you can work in them(for even half of a day) but these timberlands are true to size for me, and very comfortable right out of the box! I am very impressed with them! As far as wear, I’ve only had them for a few weeks so I can’t say how long they’re going to last. But I will say this, I had bought a pair of Justin work boots and they do not break in easy, and only last 1 season. So, I highly recommend these boots for any activity, but in my line of work, they’re invaluable!
Got these on the Amazon Christmas sale. I try to get real leather shoes whenever possible, but no one carries them at reasonable prices. We are very pleased with these shoes. It’s obvious from the photos that they are very well-made and attractive, with large, sturdy, and well-attached soles. What you can’t tell for certain from photos is that they are very comfortable. The oil-rubbed leather is said to be waterproof, but we haven’t yet worn them in heavy rain. Only potential problem is the black material on the tongue and heal. I’m guessing it’s there to protect the leather. That’s great, as long as it lasts. We had a similar pair from our oldest son that he wore until he outgrew them. We oiled the leather and passed them down, and they look like they just came from the box–except that some of this black plastic covering is flaking off. In any event, these are some of the best shoes you can buy. Will update as necessary.
