Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve had this TV a while now and it’s been a Gem, the installed fireTV makes it a doddle to use with most of the same features. The HDMI 2.1 works as expected (there seems to be some confusion amongst other reviews about this) I can clarify that it indeed does work as 2.1 should expect with eArc/Arc and how a 60hz TV should work. What it won’t do is turn the TV into a 120hz TV so you can hook your ps5 or Xbox up and pretend to be a PC gamer you’ll need a 120hz TV for that and this one is only 60hz

You should connect either your Xbox or Playstation console before turning on and setting up the TV. I had the same issue but I solved it by doing a factory reset and turned off the TV, connect my Xbox with hdmi cable before you turn on the TV and it worked.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLovely TV, light for its size. Easy to set up. Loads quick. Picture quality is as good as you’d expect from a 4kUHD. Its only downside is the sound quality. Very quiet and sounds like it’s coming through a tin can. I would 100% recommend external speakers or a sound bar.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great picture, terrible sound.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersNeeded a new tv and this one was decent enough for the price. Had a minor issue when setting it up as there were no screws in the box, so we couldn’t attach the stand to the tv. I contacted customer service at Toshiba, and the guy I spoke to could not have been more helpful. He was polite and apologetic and said the screws would be sent out directly. They arrived the next day! So far, the tv has been great and was easy to set up, with no issues.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersDid this video because had i known how slow it is to boot up (not from Standby, from Off), it would’ve influenced my decision pre-purchase. I can (do) live with it, but thought it might be helpful to others (I’ve had it for about 4 or 5 months). In essence, it was 400 pounds very well spent: picture is good, sound sync via optical link with soundbar is very good (you need to set the lag in settings), and I like the fact that there are plenty of ports (most of mine are unused, but good to have). The built-in WiFi is flawless, as is the Fire TV element. I’ve tested it’s picture and sound between a) coax (‘normal’ TV aerial), b) WiFi and c) hard-wired ethernet cable (I don’t have Sky or cable TV, just Freeserve, Netflix & Prime Video). All are good, although the hard-wired ethernet connection compares especially well vs aerial, especially in poor weather when the DTV aerial picture sometimes struggles. This 65″ TV replaced a 65″ LG OLED for which I paid 3,000 pounds 6 years ago, and which was starting to suffer from screen burn. The only reason for mentioning that, is to put into context against what I’m comparing this TV. The 6 year-old LG OLED was much better when I used UHD and it had less reflection (see vid), no lag from Off and wasn’t restricted to Tosh/Fire apps., but is that worth 2,400 pounds extra? Not in my world. This TV’s great (I also bought one for my Dad), and most people won’t be disappointed by the general features, but do be aware the start-up takes around 65 seconds. Also, it’s important to know that unless your plug socket is within 3m of the TV, you’ll have to either rewire and extend it (immediately nullifying your warranty), or buy a longer cable. If you’ve chased cables behind the wall mount and swing bracket (as I’ve done), you immediately lose 1m between the right hand side TV power port and the recessed wall tunnel (allowing for the bracket to swing without pulling out the cable), then ~1.5m to the skirting board, so if your socket isn’t right there, buy that longer cable alongside the TV.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor the price, this TV is incredible. The Fire TV inbuilt aspect is a nice aspect and works as well as a normal Fire TV stick – fast and responsive.
Picture is brilliant, being QLED, and sound is good too.
Gaming is good, but not quite as good as some more expensive TVs. But I think the savings alone make this TV better overall

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI only ordered this TV yesterday and it was delivered before lunch today. I read the reviews before purchasing and thought give it a go. Best decision, this TV is fabulous and the sound and picture quality is amazing. Really worth the money. I haven’t bothered to get it connected to my dish I am more than happy with all my apps etc more than enough TV to watch. If your looking for TV with lots of apps great sound and picture this is the one for you.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWhilst it’s tricky to setup, especially lacking a MAC address you struggle setting up your security to permit access to your network. That’s before you start configuration.

It’s got the shortest most ridiculous power lead I have ever seen on a TV, it’s better suited to a kettle than a TV…

On the whole a good TV that for the price is much better than the 15 year old Sony Bravia 40″ it replaced…

Our bedroom TV was causing problems and this has replaced it. The TV as great value for money but it has to be said that it is not great if you do not watch straight on. It has a slight light and dark pulsing but it does not bother us in the bedroom as we stay sitting in bed when we watch.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love this TV, I’ve never had 4K before so certainly new to me but it’s great and since it’s got FireTV pre-installed it just requires one cable for power, great!

Sound quality is okay, I feel as though you’d benefit from a sound bar though as it’s not 5 star worthy sound quality. Most uses it’s fine.

Overall this TV is fantastic price, quality and size! I don’t see how anyone wouldn’t want this TV, I don’t use the stand (just mounted on the wall) so cannot comment on it.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersGreat TV, I bought this elsewhere new. Colours are vivid and there is a noticeable difference between the QLED and existing LED TVs I have. QLED is actually nothing to do with LEDs it’s an old fashioned LCD but with a quantum dot film sandwiched in-between the LCD layers to give vivid colours. Weight is very light, barely 7.5Kg, feels like nothing.

For the price paid, it’s an amazing piece of kit, speakers are good enough considering their physical size and placement they do a good job, but if you want to really enjoy it though invest in a proper soundbar and that goes for any modern slimline TV. Finally the bluetooth on this set does NOT support audio, it’s for control devices only (mouse, keyboard, remotes), so your bluetooth headphones or soundbar have to be old fashioned wired up (unless you use some other kit to convert wire/optic output from TV to wireless).

Otherwise I very happy with this TV for the price and performance. Amazon Fire TV built in is an added bonus, also Alexa integrated to ring doorbells show’s you who’s at the door etc. Very useful. This 43 inch is a perfect size for most bedrooms / small studios. Screen refresh is only 60Hz so it won’t be a gaming performer but it does very well with a large colour palette to enjoy most movies, even action movies without much noticeable screen blur at all, it does not affect enjoying fast scene changing movies (car chases, bike chases, etc.) at all. If you’re bothered by that invest in a fancier multi-hundred Hz QLED or OLED screen elsewhere.

For me this ticks all the boxes for an extra set in the bedroom with lovely vivid colour for just chilling out sometimes.

A good looking easy to set up TV. Not the most modern looking of models, but it does its job and has all the bells and whistles I need at a can’t be beaten price. Has a good, crisp and sharp picture.
The only problem I had on assembly was matching up my sound bar to the TV, still not fathomed it but I am sure I will. The warranty period is not easy to find on Amazon but it is 12 months, some retailers offer longer but can’t match the price.
On the whole, a good value purchase that on receipt and first usage I am very happy with.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersTo get apple airplay to work you must first set the TV up. Then FORCE a software download. On TV select settings ‘Device & software’ then ‘About’ then ‘Check for updates’.
Once you have done this if you go to settings screen on TV select ‘Display & Audio’ you can now select ‘Apple Airplay and Homekit’ , follow the onscreen prompts on TV and select screen mirroring on your iPhone.
Good luck, the manual is pointless.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersOne very small flaw in the picture – an occasional green halo to the right of certain objects. But it hasn’t put me off. To be honest, I’ve only spotted it once in the few weeks since I got it.
There doesn’t seem to be any way to adjust the usual picture settings: brightness; contrast; colour; aspect ratio; etc. But I don’t see any need, as these parameters are OK as they are.
The navigation menus are a bit clunky. I believe it may be worthwhile asking for Alexa’s help, but I’m not able to do this yet – hence my ‘no score’ for Alexa integration. I may get there in due course.
It takes a lot longer to boot up than my other tellies.
The offer price on Prime day made it good value. Even at the full price, it would still be worth considering.
    Overall, very pleased.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersGood: 4K, this price tag, clarity, vivid picture (remember you need to change to higher quality as it comes as display mode settings), light, great software, and no annoying messages asking you to setup Alexa.

Not horrible but worth .25 marks: The remote is made for child’s hands. There is no button for selecting input devices unless I haven’t found it. I think the stand should be about 6in high just to put a sound bar in front or for making sure you see the bottom part of the screen if you are in bed. One DVI port in place of the third HDMI might be good if you want to hook up your Desktop PC or Mac. I have a 4k vid card on my PC, so want to see how this puppy kicks boots.

Thanks for a great upgrade from the 24in I had for the same price as this beauty.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMake sure you have a screwdriver to assemble the tv set. Had to nip out for a screwdriver to just set this up. Not criticising that a screwdriver isn’t provided, I just don’t think the assembly requirement/tools needed was clear on the PDP.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersBought this tv after upgrading a relatives 50″, so impressed i upgraded my 5 yr old 55″ lg to this 65″. Ssme weight as the old one so used same mount, simple to set up and pair the toshiba remote with my lg soundbar, poor instructions though and the supplied qr code to download full manual doesnt work, plays my media files fine and access to my fire tv account was simple to sort, well worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 59 From Our UsersThe first thing I will state that I was very disappointed with and a little feeling of being mislead is the fact that this TV does not have hdmi 2.1 ports even though the title and specs says it does , the main reason I purchased this TV was because of this because I wanted to use my Xbox series s with it and run at 4k 120hz and have HDR capabilities and I even made sure I ordered a 2.1 capable hdmi cable to come with it but when it arrived I unfortunately found out it only has hdmi 2.0 ports so please be aware of this before buying ( note you can still play games at 4k 60hz but you won’t be able to run 4k 120hz with this TV )

However away from that fact , the screen is great and the resolution is fantastic when you can achieve the 4k but even when you can’t things are still nice and clear and definitely an upgrade from my 1080p TV , the speakers aswell sound very nice and clear and music does sound good and having the option of Dolby or surround is nice and is noticeable,

Having Alexa built in as well was a good add on for me as I have an echo as well so can control the TV with it etc and have my Amazon accounts linked to it including Amazon music unlimited

Good overall tv and would recommend but they need to stop misleading people about the hdmi 2.1

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersAfter purchasing a RCA and had problems with it twice in two months I returned it and got a Toshiba. To be fair I only realised ot is a firetv too when it arrived. But was happy anyways. The sound is amazing, the picture however tricky. It would be five star if I would be able to control black light and brighness settings without doing them everytime I turn it on and or even while watching live tv do it again and again. I I even tried to trun off the Dolby Vision but it keeps turn itself back on…. Which give a level of brightness I am not necessarily comfortable with on the long shot. When I go to picture settings I only can set the live tv’s settings for a while or the video but no app’s such as YouTube or Netflix is affected by it…sadly. As I had it for a couple of days only we will see how it goes… I might and up retuning it and by a more simple version of Toshiba. Other then this issue it is absolutely a great bargain for the price!

Golden Review Award: 75 From Our UsersUPDATED REVIEW: I had some issues with the first unit that Amazon sent me, but after getting a replacement I can finally give an accurate score. This TV offers a decent panel, with pretty bright colours and a bunch of nice features also present in most TVs at this price point, but I would say that the sound, which isn’t great (something that I expected) is probably a bit better than their rivals. However, most of you would probably rather use a decent soundbar with eARC technology.

One thing that I liked is the fact that Fire TV works much better and in a snappier way than Android TV at this price point, so browsing the menus and looking for apps or content is a much better experience from my point of view. On the other hand, the main drawback is that Fire TV is remarkably more limited, so there are less apps, less flexibility and it won’t allow you to rename your inputs with whatever name you want (you will have to select from a very limited list that it doesn’t contain something as simple as “Computer”) Another thing that I didn’t like is that if you select UK as your location it will just offer you a few languages in the TV OS. My mother language is Spanish so I found that a bit annoying that Canadian French was an option over a European language that is spoken by almost a billion people in the world. Seriously, Amazon?

If you are going to use this TV with a PC, it might require a bit of tinkering in order to remove all the pre-processing stuff that is applied to image by default. Once you have done that you should be getting a clear enough image with almost no artifacting and you can save the configuration for each input. It’s still not an ideal panel to connect a PC though, a big monitor with high refresh rate, or a high-end gaming TV will be much more suitable options. But if you are on a budget and ok with that, it will definitely do the trick.

The VESA mounting system chosen is a bit strange, to be honest. 100×100 for a 43″ TV is going to put quite a lot of stress into the plastic carcass. I have mounted it on the wall and for the moment it looks good, but I wouldn’t try to tilt it down in case the plastic casing isn’t strong enough. It’s preferable to install the wall mount a bit lower. Also, be careful with the bottom left screw hole, it seems to be less deep than the rest. I needed to use a shorter screw in order to be able to mount it.

In conclusion, this TV is a good option if your are on a tight budget that pair up nicely with an Xbox Series S or a budget PC. It will also work very well as a cheap video streaming solution. But with some noticeable compromises. It won’t be ideal for those who look for top-notch features.

OLD REVIEW: The TV was faulty and it’s going back to Amazon. I guess that I just was unlucky, so I ordered a replacement. I’ll be updating this review when I get a unit that works as it should, but it has to be one star for the time being.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very decent TV for a low price

Golden Review Award: 77 From Our UsersAbsolutely love this tv with a smooth Alexa voice control. Stylish, sleek, ultra thin with a great sound and a beautiful clear picture. Already loaded with Prime & Netflix and lots of free apps, I am ‘hooked’ on this beautiful tv.
This was a great deal at 269 or an even better deal to buy the bundle; same tv + video ring doorbell for the SAME price of 269. Who wouldn’t love a deal like that? Sadly my tv arrived without the ring doorbell and when I spoke to customer services (normally a positive experience) the lady told me “I had accidentally unchecked the bundle and selected just the tv” hence no ring doorbell. Errr what?
The second lady I spoke to told me “at the time I ordered the bundle the promotion was finished” .. I checked and it was still ongoing. So no ring doorbell. Huh? Are you saying I saw a great bundle deal, but when I ordered it, the promotion ‘suddenly’ became unavailable and then the next day became available again???
Becoming a tad irate I sent an email to customer services attaching a screenshot of the bundle promotion showing it still available. Then I spoke to a third lady.. “that’s not very good service from us” she said. “Don’t worry, be patient and I will send you a ring doorbell .. you will receive it by the 21st October. Ahh relief, somebody is taking my complaint seriously!
Needless to say the 21st came and went .. and no ring doorbell. At that point I confess, I gave up.
So, here we are reviewing my fabulous new tv..
However, for the outrageous customer service, Amazon .. I’m giving you a 4 star rating (it would have been a 5 star because I absolutely love the tv). But instead of the joy of playing with my video ring doorbell (I’ve secretly coveted one since they first came out) instead at the age of 65 I’m moving in two weeks, sadly alone, into a new flat. The ring doorbell would have provided extra security for me, but being an OAP, I can’t afford to buy the video ring doorbell.. I’m still paying for the tv.
I have since found out that when you add the bundle to your basket, it’s fine until you go to pay for it (in this case through Klarna) because it automatically selects the single item and you have to re select the bundle. Sadly, didn’t notice (being new to Klarna and all.
So instead of dreaming of a white Christmas, I’m dreaming of a video ring doorbell. Perhaps .. just perhaps .. when Amazon review my review they will relent .. and send me the video ring doorbell I ordered. Now that would be the excellent customer service I know they usually provide .. and they’d be keeping an old lady safe in her new home!
