4 year old loves the cat design and significantly cheaper than hiring car seats on holiday.

Easy to install, bit still feels strong and secure to keep your child safe.

Great for travel, bit heavy for little ones if you fill as hand luggage, but the multi purpose nature of it makes it worth it.

This product is incredible when the alternative is no car seat. I had my 3&5 year old on these when we were in and out of
Taxis on holiday and everyone commented on how fantastic they were easy to use, and ensured the seat belt fit them properly.

Used for travel on holiday bought two for a 4 and 6 year old strap allows proper adjustment of the seatbealt so it doesn’t cut into their neck and sits across the shoulder. Both kids could put their favourite Teddy, blanket and a few snacks into the bags for the aeroplane. Very pleased with this product.

Golden Review Award: 45 From Our UsersI bought this for my son when he was 2, but he wasn’t really old enough to sit in it properly until he was three. We travel quite a bit, and having this double as a rucksack is very convenient. We can install it in taxis in seconds, and with the shoulder strap adapter, it’s always snug around his body. We were in an accident 5 days ago that sent the other driver to the hospital. My son was the only person in our car uninjured. I will be forever grateful to Trunki for this brilliant and well-made safety booster seat.

Yet another Trunki product I have committed to buying within a few minutes. This company makes excellent products that make parenting easier, and at an affordable cost. I don’t drive and now child is older Ive often had to drop out of events because we can’t just jump in get a lift. This is amazing in that I can also fit the essentials in for the day, and I can travel on trains without worrying about logistics at the other end. Really well made, simple and strong.

We loved this booster! Ordered it delivered to the USA and it came promptly. We took it all the way from Seattle to Asia and back. We only wished that they were available in the USA for direct pickup in a store so we could share it with all our friends and families we know.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood item and worked for us travelling on holiday. Can’t fit a lot in the storage but enough toys and bits and bobs for the littles ones and very tough and robust. As a car seat it works but would only use it for the holiday travel situation or occasional journey in say a taxi as not the most comfortable. Does a good job but it certainly doesn’t replace a proper child’s car seat for safety and comfort for normal everyday travel. Recommend 3 and above age wise.

Ideal for when my child needs a lift with family that don’t have a fitted car seat.

I used this when travelling abroad on a plane and in taxis overseas. Now I have it as an emergency spare.

We bought it 4 months ago for our 4 y.o. for travelling. It was very easy to install, comfortable to seat, and some little space inside. The only it was too big for our daughter to be able to carry even if it was empty. But I bet in a few months growing taller and stronger she will use it as back pack too. Even when we don’t travel it’s still in use: we take it to cinema, theatre to raise the seats for our little one and its just perfect! Or as an extra car seat for our little guests. We are happy with the purchase.

Fantastic product! Bought two for my daughters.

Very easy to fit and take in holiday for rental cars. Saved the cost of paying for car seats on first trip away.

Great little compartment to carry a few of the kids toys too.

Also handy to have as a spare car seat around the house.

Only slight issue is the weight once filled with toys can make it hard for my little one to carry herself. Otherwise great!

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersThe reviews that say this product is large and on the heavy side are correct. It is large, but it fit on my tall five-year old’s back, and it’s the right size to fit under a young child’s bottom and elevate them to a safe point for a car’s seatbelt. It is also a touch heavy, because the backpack/seat is constructed with a plastic shell and guiding arms that feel pretty solid and sturdy.

We took the advice of other reviews and kept the load in the backpack light for my daughter — a couple of books, some coloring pencils, and a stuffed toy were doable for her, and she was able carry the pack herself through the airport. Once in the car, the pack’s guiding arms kept the seatbelt in our rental car exactly where it needed to be on her lap. The strap kept the belt at the right point on her shoulder. It also did its job in the car, under some mild stress — I had to slam on the brakes a couple of times, unfortunately, for different reasons. The booster kept the seatbelt positioned properly, and the seatbelt made no marks on her.

I was very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend this product to anyone who needs a booster seat and can’t, for whatever reason, check a high-backed one safely as luggage.

Takes a little working out where strap should go first time, but then hold secure and apparently comfortable. Perfect emergency seat to have in the boot for giving lifts to child’s friends or when other half has run off with the car seat.

It was great as u can bring it on the plane and it held enough clothes for the weeks holiday we saved money cause we didn’t have to pay to bring car seat on plane or hire one with hire care, the only down fall is it was heavy for her to carry but it was grand for me to carry, it has been used a good bit since home from holidays

My daughter absolutely loves this and has been playing with it since it arrived. As a bag it’s quite heavy but spacious. Doesn’t seem to be the most comfortable car seat though my daughter insists it is (I think she’s afraid I’ll take it away). Excellent idea and very practical. Will see how it goes as a carry on for holiday.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersBought one of these for a recent trip to New York with our 4yr old daughter.
Overall this was a fantastic product – we were in and out of Taxi’s and restaurants (with no high-chairs) – my daughter loved it – it raised her up to a safe height in cars/taxi’s and overall was great. The ability to use the small rucksack compartment meant we could take snacks/drinks for my daughter with ease (great!)

The only challenge was fitting the seatbelt adjuster. Whilst this was a great function, it was very fiddly to attached and remove when getting in and out of Taxi’s on busy main streets – This element of the product could certainly do with a re-design.

Otherwise excellent – highly recommend this produc

Very happy with this as a booster, simple to install and 4yo confirmed it was v comfortable. It’s too small to use as a wknd bag but great as hand luggage, we packed the kid’s snacks / plane entertainment etc. & it fit neatly under the seat. I expect we will get a lot of use out of it. Probably a bit heavy for 4yo to carry but it’s v comfortable to wear as a back pack for an adult.

I often fly to visit family with my daughter and only take cabin bags with us. This is absolutely brilliant and means I no longer need to check in a car seat or rely on family to borrow one for my visit. It’s big enough inside to fit a couple of days worth of clothes and a few essentials for a trip. I’ve often found myself using it on days out with friends aswell as means I no longer have to keep removing my static car seats from the car. Would definitely highly recommend.

I wish I had known about this earlier! Found out about it by accident through a mum’s WhatsApp group. Took it with us on holiday to Jordan – and thank goodness we did, because the quality of the car seat provided was sub-standard. My 5.5 year old comfortably sat on this for hours of driving. It means the seat belt is at the right height for her. The one thing we haven’t quite worked out is how to help her sleep in the car, as this obviously has no neck support. We are still experimenting! It also fits neatly under the seat in front on the airplane and packs a reasonably amount of stuff – books, pencils, gadgets, etc.

Great, my 4 year old loves it! We knew what to expect as we had used a friends before but just in case you haven’t you should be aware that it is too heavy to be carried as a backpack by a child, it has to go on mummy or daddy’s back but is still a very convenient way of carrying a car seat with a good space to keep kids goodies inside.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our Usershis has been great for car trips abroad as we can take on the plane and fill with a few toys and the kids can carry round and then we dont need to pay an extortionate amount to rent a seat. they are useful if you have to use taxis as well always having it to hand. they are good quality and hard plastic parts fold out to make arm rests which is great.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a very clever item.

Like thousands of other parents we have the problem of how to take child boosters abroad to avoid paying over the top (normally 5-10 per day) for the normally ancient/worn/stained ones you get given by the hire companies. This deals with that problem as the kids can carry it on the plane, and also keep a few items in it (like that Kindle, DS, change of clothes, etc).

But it’s not just a booster seat with back straps. It’s actually a very clever booster seat in itself. I particularly like the adjustable (you can change it from left to right, and you can adjust its length to match the child’s height) seat belt guide that ensures that the seat belt goes over their shoulders and not over their necks (as with the normal adult position). There are also clear and very comprehensive instructions that come with it, and which are also printed on the fabric itself (so no worries about losing them). Finally the cover comes apart and can be washed. In fact these are a lot better than the booster seats we have currently in our cars and I’m tempted to switch them over permanently.

A lifesaver for frequent travellers. A decent quality child seat that doubles up as a backpack.

We travel a fair bit and, as is usually the case we end up on budget airlines so try to pack just hand luggage. Not so much to avoid the cost of checking in luggage (you can still usually check in child car seats for free), but mainly to avoid having to join the horrific Ryanair check in queues just to check in a couple of car seats.

As these seats are backpacks with straps and fall within even the tightest airline hand baggage restrictions we take them as the carry on items for the kids. They weigh under a kilo so even when you fill up the storage also, older kids should have no problems carrying them. The storage area is not huge but big enough to fit in a weekend’s clothing and shoes for a child.

We found these whilst searching for ways to avoid paying the car rental agency seat rental costs which can be around 10 a day. So by buying these for 40 odd they paid for themselves on a long weekend’s trip.

The kids are 4 and 2 (a sturdy 2 year old!) and they both liked the seats and looked safe and secure. The seats are easy to install into a car. The side supports pop up and seem very solid and the seatbelt fits over the child as normal but hooks under the side supports. The ‘booster’ part of the seats make even smaller children tall enough to wear the seatbelt safely.

My 5 year old daughter absolutely adores this booster seat. It’s been back and forth to the US with us a couple times already and is great as a carry on. Fits a bunch of toys / activities. Easy to put in taxis and other cars at either end. She says it’s very comfortable and we both think it looks fantastic. Also since she filled in her name on it, she gets called by name in the airport which she loves.

Very pleased with prompt delivery, especially as we live in Spain. I have had a tunki boostapak for my now 7 year old for over 3 years now, so knew what I was buying.
I ordered two more for my 4 year old twins. The backpack is a bit heavy for a 4 year old to carry, so keep in mind you will need to have a spare hand/shoulder going through airports to carry this for your child. Once my eldest started approaching age 6, he was able to comfortably carry it himself through an airport, with some colouring and nintendo in it too. Guess it depends on the size of your child though.

The best invention ever. We take this on all our trips away. Abroad or otherwise. Very sturdy seat, and lovely cute design. Everyone asks us were we got this. Whilst on holiday we use it in taxi’s, on buses and even on restaurant seats to boost her height at the table. The bag doesn’t hold large amounts due to its solid structure, but for the age of the child this product is intended for, that is not a problem – they do not need lots of things to carry around.

  37. RenaDoverdrfl says:

Initially bought to use with our kids at a sporting event(s) these have proved invaluable. We needed booster seats for the stadium and also knew we’d need a day bag(s). These gave us both. The bag isn’t particularly large, but managed the standard-issue pack of wipes, spare clothes and a drink. As we had two (for our 3-yr-old and 5-yr-old) we used the other bag for felt-tips and colouring books as well as our own gubbins. Result!
Now that we have the BoostApaks we’ve also taken them with us for other days out – and found they provide impromtu boosters on trains, buses and at cafs – all of which we’d have coped with (without the bag/booster) but are far easier with the backpack in tow. Having been a little sceptical I am now a BoostApak convert! (Yes, they are expensive – but then they are doing two jobs at the same time, the engineering/design is very clever and the construction sturdy. I wouldn’t complain if the price dropped though!)

I bought for my 3 1/2 year old daughter. we were traveling by train to stay with friends, who don’t have a car seat. It came in very handy as it meant she could sit on it and see out of the train window, she also loved that she could keep her clothes and toys inside the shell of the seat.

It was simple and easy to use, and my little girl felt grown up sitting in it.

I think the only downside to it is that it can be a bit heavy when things are stored inside, but it was definitely worth the money.

I was travelling on Ryanair and rented a car abroad, but I hated the thought of renting a car seat for safety and hygiene reasons. The thought of having to carry the traditional car seat was not appealing and then a friend recommended looking up this. The cheapest price online was on amazon, I picked pink and I was not sorry I bought this. There was room to pack snacks, change of clothes, touch tablet, books, cuddly toy and colours in this for the plane. No problem brining it on-board and it was handy on my back as my other luggage is on wheels and needs to be pulled or pushed (like the buggy). I would recommend this if travelling, but I will also be using it as a spare at home.

Golden Review Award: 43 From Our UsersWe’ve bought this for my 4 yr old for our holiday in America this year as hiring a booster seat seems to be so expensive and apparently the quality can vary dependant on the car hire depot itself.
We read all the reviews and decided to order one. It arrived very quickly and I am very impressed with the item.
It is very neat, not too bulky, looks good and feels sturdy enough to be sat on which I was a bit dubious about.
The backpack area is large enough to carry a few toys, games, snacks andd drinks etc for the flight.
I’d read a few reviews about the handles being badly stitched on and so I’ve pulled them about and they seem to be securely attached.
I’d also read that the seatbelt adjuster only sits on one side of the seat so you can only have the chair in one position of the car but this is incorrect, the seatbelt adjuster is detachable and can be used on either side of the seat, another great little touch.
The side arms click in and out of place and again are sturdy.
My only slight criticism is the seat itself is quite hard so for my little one’s ‘derriere’ I’ll be purchasing a small cushion for the long drives we’re having to do in America.
All in all though, a fabulous idea and I’m extremely happy with this product, I would certainly recommend.

I bought two booster seats and I am so pleased. I bought green and pink. I went on holiday and this two packs were absolutely brill. I used them on a plane as hand luggages for my children. I packed them with some toys, leappads, crayons and papier, books and drinks and crisps. My flight was fantastics because my kids (over 4 yrs old and nearly 3 yrs old) were so busy with toys and other things I packed to this spacesious booster packs. I have to mention I was on my own with my children. I also used them on holiday as booster seat in friends cars (very handy items). Once my husband took our kids carseats in his car then I needed to go to hospital with my friend and her son so gladly it wasnt a problem because I used trunki booster seat for my son. We bought both Trunkis in special offer so we saved on two about 30.00 but even if we need to pay full price I still would buy them.

I found the instructions confusing at first but when i worked it out this has proved to be very useful as a short tem temporary seat. I would not use it full time. Its a good space saving seat as opposed to my bulky ones and has enabled me to fit a 1,2,3 year old in the back of my car using the two existing child seats I have and this one in the middle. Good for emergency use.

This car seat is the same price as hiring one for a week with a hire car, so money saved by time you hire a car for the 2nd time with a young child in tow! It is a little too heavy for my 5yr old to carry herself for any length of time, which we were both disappointed about, but luckily we realised this before our holiday started, so we used the backpack section for practical items such as a drink, wet wipes, etc and she carried a lighter backpack herself.
Now we’re home we keep it in the car for those unexpected lifts for friends, but she often decides to use it instead of her more sturdy “permanent” car seat!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI think this product is a fantastic idea for travelling and journeys with friends etc, but I’m actually using it as a day-to-day booster seat for my 8 year old son. The reason being that it is one of the few boosters you can buy that has a shoulder clip for the seatbelt. My son sits in the middle of the rear seat (in between the car seats of our two younger children) and the seatbelt for this middle seat is not in a very good position (the car is a Peugeot 5008). It comes down from the roof at a very steep angle, and if you are going to use a booster without a back on it (which I would not recommend for a child younger than 7 or 8) it needs to have a clip to pull the seatbelt down to the child’s shoulder. In addition to the seatbelt clip, I love the fact that the BoostaPac raises my son up slightly higher than a standard booster seat. Again this helps with the stupid seatbelt in our car! The Trunki is narrower than all the other boosters I’ve tried too, so great for fitting between two other child seats.
I would really recommend this product.

I was sceptical when I purchased it as to whether I would find it useful. Having traveled to Italy for a week by myself with two young children I feel this product made my journey enjoyable. Firstly it took several sticker books an iPad and CD player for the plane then it saved me a small fortune on car seat hire and finally it worked as a great booster seat for the table for my two year old. It is very well designed as fits well under the seat in front on the plane and easy to push in and pull out quickly. When full it does need to be carried by an adult but its so comfortable I forgot it was on my back. I am now looking forward to my daughter taking it to school when she has play dates

Chose it as going on holiday with my 5yr old and wanted to make sure I had a car seat and some toys with us. It worked a treat on the aeroplane. We access to things to keep her occupied on the plane and when she wanted to sleep, we popped it under to footwell in front of our seat. No need to put it in the overhead compartment as it fits perfectly here. A definite great buy. Would recommend it anytime!

We bought this specifically to take on holiday. I first saw this on dragon’s den years ago and it was one of those items that I thought was fantastically designed. Car seats in hire cars are dirty and usually the cheapest seats available, I’m sure of their safety ratings although they are all to the minimum safety standard. I was much more confident with the safety of the trunki booster.
As a rucksack it’s ok, my daughter put in a snack, sandwich, baby wipes, magazine, some crayons and a cuddly toy! Not quite as big as a normal kiddies’ rucksack but big enough for our requirements.
Some people complained it was heavy, I agree it is heavy but to be honest the functionality of the trunking far outweighs whether it is heavy or not. If the manufacturer could find a way of decreasing the weight it would be perfect.
Overall a well thought out and well made product. I’m a bit of a trunki fan!

Another fantastic product by Trunki! Beautifully made product, really good quality and lots of small details that make this good idea, great. Little things like a smooth cover for the piece of velcro that holds the flap down in backpack mode so that the velcro doesn’t rub on the kids legs when it is in seat mode, seat belt guide holder so it won’t swing out when walking, semi-hidden name tag that can be easily found and comfortable back padding. Dynamic styling with reflective trimming so safety with good looks. My daughter loves wearing this bag and I love that we can take it as carry on and not have to pay huge carseat hire fees on our next trip abroad. Decent size space inside the bag- enough for a short haul flight, activities and snack box etc. You could probably even fit a smaller lunch box, drink bottle and a school book in as an alternative school bag for after school play date days. Totally recommend this if you want a spare seat for kids to take on play dates and holidays.

This item is a superb design and an excellent way to ensure that you have a car booster seat for holidays, particularly when travelling for shorter journeys in taxis and other non-owned vehicles. The back-pack compartment is very useful for children to carry their own bits and pieces and my grandchildren love them. My only criticism is that they are just a little too difficult to manage for children under the age of about five. My 6 year old can just about cope so be prepared to help the little ones particularly at airports. Nevertheless a very useful and attractive travel accessory.

This is a great idea for post-school play dates etc. The bag section is large enough to put in a change of clothes, a decent snack and maybe a book or two, and the seat is easy to use with armrests that pull up for comfort. The only downside is that it is quite heavy, so even my pretty strong six year old struggles to carry it for any length of time. I assume this is to do with safety standards, but if not, Trunki please make a lighter model!

Very inovative product. I have not given it five stars as the cover does tend to fall down. It is held on with velcro, maybe could have had a better fastener. Only been used twice when girls travelling with someone else, but velcro already not that great.
It is a handy size, easy to carry backpack style. Can carry pens and pencils etc inside. Kids loved taking it to school. Everyone else wanted one for Xmas as the school. Very popular.
This would have been even better if the inside of the bag had been a cool bag material where the kids could have carried their sandwiches

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersWe ordered this for our 4 year old as an ‘extra’ travel booster seat as we were getting tired of renting 2 car seats whenever we travel. Our son loved sitting on it (especially on the plane, where he could finally see out the window easily) but he complained of the straps hurting him when he carried it. Sure enough, we took the pack off and he had a raw spot on his shoulder. We had put his toys in it, and my husband suggested maybe we souldn’t use it to carry things but I figure that’s part of the benefit of a booster-seat/backpack, you should be able to put things in it and still let a child carry it. My suggestion would be for a bit more ‘padding’ on the shoulder straps to make it more comfortable for small children to use. Other than that, we love the product and will be ordering one for our two year old soon (for use on planes only for now, and then as a car seat booster when he’s big enough!)

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is very useful for those who travel frequently or does not have own car. But, omg, how it’s big! On my daughter (height 125 cm) it looks incredibly huge. I have no idea when it will be able to wear it on her own. On me (height 173 cm) BoostApak looks huge also. And there are no inside pockets, except for a small grid on the back. And it’s two reasons why I put this amazing and useful thing four stars only.

4.0 out of 5 stars Too big!

Bought this to take on holiday – not too heavy even with a few travel essentials and complied with airline hand baggage restrictions. Fit under aircraft seat and worked brilliantly as a booster seat in our rental car. Great not to have the expense of hiring a seat and they are never the nicest condition. Used for 5 nearly 6 year old and she had some help from older brothers to carry it through the airport! I thoroughly recommend this product!

This is a great invention! It is light and doesnt take up a lot of space plus you can get a few little bits in the backpack part. it is very convenient. I got mine off amazon as cheaper than the shops but went to the shops to have a look at it first. It is easy to use and great for holidays, we took ours away and was perfect! Obviously it is for the same age as a traditional booster seat but we travelled late at night so I had to sit in the back with my daughter to keep pushing her back up as her head dropped to the side when she fell asleep but this is not a fault of the booster as this would happen with any booster seat but if your child sleeps a lot you might want a high back booster but not as convenient. Very happy with the product, only used for one week on holiday and when her nan picked her up from pre-school one day but hoping it will be a great investment as seems high quality and strong

I brought this for our family holiday. It was great peace of mind for when we were travelling around as the rules of the road werent quite like we have here. Its easy to carry around as its a backpack and has a decent space to put things in. Was easy to use once I had read the instructions and it has a little pocket with an instruction card just incase you forget. The video makes it look small enough for a child to carry but its too big for my 4yr old to carry. Its a little pricey for a booster seat but its very convienient and does have a back and seat belt shoulder adjuster and arm rests. It counts as 1 hand luggage on the plane or takes up space in suitcase but can always pack things inside it if pack in suitcase

We bought two of these Trunki Boostapak carseats, as my children and I will be travelling to and from the UK a lot. They are perfect because they are light enough for the children to carry and they can take a few books and favourite things in the inside compartment. They are easy to fit in the car and will save us a lot of money paying for carseats from car hire companies and we can use them if we decide to take a taxi. Great product, would highly recommend.

I bought this for a trip away I needed one to carry on the plane and this is cabin bag approved. Also great when you use it in the car as its not as bulky as most so if your trying to fit 3 people In the back of the car it gives that bit more space. My little girl loved it and is light enough for her to carry on her back. Good amount of storage space in it aswell. Seems very well made and looks built to last. My daughter loves it so much she prefers to use this now we are home instead of her very expensive maxi cosi one! All in all very happy I would definatly recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 60 From Our UsersWe now have two of these, I was waiting for my youngest to reach the right weight. One green, one pink. We can now travel by plane without a massive Britax car seat for the hire car at the other end. Hurraaaaaaaaah!!
It is quite heavy on its own (that’s because you want it to be sturdy), and since you probably don’t expect a very little one to carry your allowed 7kg of hand luggage in there, you might be happy to know that although it’s not massive, snacks, a few colouring books and beloved comforters and a water bottle will definitely find their spot in there.
The mesh pocket inside could do with being a single pocket, not a skinny one you can only keep the instructions in and a larger one. The instructions could be printed onto the fabric itself, on the opposite side, save the trees, people, save the trees!
The mesh on the inside of the straps do prevent the bag from slipping, however, it is painful when the children are wearing tank tops, and to be honest, when you’re traveling and the kids start kicking up a fuss about that when you’re already carrying the equivalent of a 49ft container in your hand luggage, you have your laptop bag over your shoulder, your boarding passes and passports between your teeth, your handbag around your neck, and the security guys ask you to remove your shoes, and stick your electronics in the tray for the scanner, you may want to curse at those lovely Trunky people… But then you remember what it was like to get a Britax birth to 18kg seat THROUGH the scanner itself, and you’re ready to hang those Boostapaks around your big toe instead of telling the kids to JUST GET ON WITH IT!!

Do get one. It’s a great thing to have.

Edit: one year on a strap broke. I had to sew it back on, do watch out. Still love them!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHeading to the Algarve in a few weeks we found that the nice folks at Avis were going to charge us 10 euros a day for a booster seat, so found this Boostapak on a search and wow, this product is really good, great value (32), very well thought out and very good quality. Our 5 year old loves it and it is a design brainwave making her backpack booster seat so exciting that she wants to carry the thing herself! Just a shame my golf clubs won’t fit in there too…. This product is a very smart buy, it is saving us 70 euros not having to rent one on this trip alone so has more than paid for itself already and judging by the quality will be our travel booster seat for many years to come. Great product.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have recently bought this product for my daughter who is nearly four. Although she is within the weight band for using the booster seat, she is still a little small for it and we are having trouble adjusting the car seatbelt so that it sits on her shoulder without sliding off. I am still not entirely sure whether I am entirely comfortable with her using it at this stage, but we will still take it on holiday with us so that we have some peace of mind when using Spanish taxis!
My daughter’s lack of height also means that the pack is a bit heavy for her to use as a backpack, even when empty, so I will be carrying it as my hand luggage.
Nonetheless, this is a very smart and well-made product, which will be ever more useful as she gets older; it would just be nice to have had a little more information about suitability related to the user’s size beyond a weight guide before I made the purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHaving watched the Apprentice episode which involved the backpack /booster seat I thought I’d try one out for our holiday to Paris.
I looked online and found quite a few. I selected the trunki one and I have to say it’s fabulous.
My daughter (age 7) loves the fact that she’s responsible for her own bag, especially on the plane! There’s plenty of room inside for all sorts of things including her DS, magazines & books, and a variety of other toys. She did find it a little heavy at times (I suspect that may have been to the amount of stuff she had in it).
It easily converts from backpack to car seat by undoing the velcro and snapping up the arms. She found it very comfortable in the car and also used it for sitting around in the airport when waiting for luggage etc. It also has a clip that keeps the seatbelt away from her neck. This can be moved very easily from one side to the other depending on where she sits in the car.
I’d certainly recommend this product. Trunki BoostApak Travel Pack Booster Sea

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis has been a brilliant buy. We bought it for a holiday abroad and as an extra booster seat and it has been better than we hoped for.

The travel pack is big enough for a small rucksack which we put inside loaded with things to play with on the plane.

The booster seat is sturdy and comfortable and worked well as an extra seat for a second car and for the trip to the airport and in the hire car abroad. It was far better than the seats we got from the car hire firm last year.

It can also be useful for a child to sit on while waiting in the queue at the airport check in desk!

It is very easy to set up as a seat, the soft back lifts up, the solid arms fold out and the base is strong and sturdy to sit on.

The backpack is fine with easily adjustable straps but may be a bit bulky for very small children.

We are very pleased with this purchase and will hopefully get years of use out of it.

This product does exactly what it says it will do. It is a nice little backpack with the capacity to contain a few items your kid will need (bottle, teddy, sweets). It looks very attractive as a backpack and my 3yr old was immensely proud to wear it at the airport. As a booster seat it works perfectly. It is very easy to set up and it allows the child to see well from the car’s windows. While it is expensive as a booster seat, it is a very cost effective solution when travelling. The standard car rental firm will charge in the region of 3 a day for a child/booster seat to rent along with the car. If you are staying for a week or so, this means that this product will pay for itself and it is a saving on further trips. If you do not rent a car, but use a relative’s car this is a good solution, often necessary to drive legally with a child. The product is of good quality. Only problem is that if your kid is not used to booster seats, she may have trouble sleeping in an upright position. A headrest of some sort that can be packed inside the trunki is a good idea.

This is a great product for taking on holiday. We travel a few times a year and hire a car. each time we are charged approx 30-40 Euro to hire a car seat. Now my son can go in a booster this will save us lots of money each year. This is lightweight, easy to carry and you can fit toys/books,clothes in the compartment underneath. As the seat it hard on one side we put a portable dvd player in it and a DS for easy travel with my son.Once in the car, the seat belt slots in the sides easily and my son found it comfortable.
The only problem, as with all booster seats, is the child cannot fall asleep comfortably as there is no head support. Trunki do sell a head support cushion separately, a combination pack might be a good idea with a discount if bought together.
Lastly another suggestion is that when used as a backpack there are clips at the front as the weight of the item when packed pulls it down off a childs shoulders, if it had clips accross the chest like a backpack, a child could carry it more comfortably.
