I had a smaller version of this when I was 12, within minutes in the car, I opened the blade and cut my finger. Blood everywhere and a muted panic from the other occupants. It was then lost in the carelessness of youth. This replacement is beautifully engineered. It will, no doubt last many years. I have a Leatherman Signal but, I cannot carry it with me as it is not legal to do so without good reason (whatever that means). This Victorinox is a legal carry and so it will travel with me. Delighted by the quality, perfect.

Its swiss made quality as you would expect its flawless. Yeah its a little chunky but as you would expect it to be with such a arsenal of tools condensed into the palm of your hand. This is i think one of the best swiss army knifes you can get that virtually has everything you could need a true mini tool box. Every tool is as you would expect very high quality and finished perfectly. 10/10

The quality and robustness has really exceeded my expectations. Everything works well and is well thought out. Both blades, and even the scissors, are really sharp and very sturdy. Initially I thought it might be a rather expensive toy, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersMy first one lasted 5 years until I gave it away to a pipe-smoking nun in the Solomon Islands. I used to tell the kids there’s a story in every blade – like the time I cut myself out of a building I’d been locked inside after hours. My replacement one lasted 32 years and was still very good – even the saw and file after all that time though I used them sparely – but it got confiscated in a spot check at Amsterdam airport last summer and I’d forgotten I had it in my bag. This one is idential to the one of 1989, the only differences that I can spot being that the magnifying glass is slightly larger, and blessing of blessings, the Philips screwdriver which never fitted anything very well on the old one is now really good. That’s the only update I can make on a product I first read about in Stewart Brand’s Whole Earth Catalogue.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI am 31 years old and I have collected various knives / tools over my lifetime but the only Swiss Army knife I have ever owned was a cheap little thing I used to take fishing with my dad when I was no older than 12.

So I bought the Victroinox ‘Champ’ at 31 since I figured it was time I owned the real deal.

I am glad I did. This thing is just QUALITY, all the tools are precision machined and made from thick metal, the blades are all sharp out of the box and the mechanisms all firm and secure.

Despite having many tools onboard this is not a bulky item. As you can see from my picture, it fits neatly in the palm of your hand.

If you are in doubt about which multi tool/Swiss army knife to buy look no further and buy this. It’s the real deal.

I have owned a Swiss Army Champion knife for nearly 20 years. It goes everywhere with me, I’ve used every tool in the set over the years. There have been very few jobs that the knife has failed me.
Last week I lost my Champ.
The very next day I ordered a replacement, I can’t go without my most important assistant.

I recently moved house and this little Swiss Army knife has once again bailed me out more times than I can count. So I thought I would leave a review as I thought I’d had it maybe 4 or 5 years.

Nope. 10 years. Nearly 11. I’ve had this knife for over 10 years now, and it’s yet to let me down. Damn, the thing doesn’t even look more than a few years old, and the blades still sharpen up a treat.

That’s quality that speaks for itself.

Brilliant knife,i will be using it alot as my EDC. I have a Leatherman Surge for work but it isn’t uk legal carry in public, the Champ is. This is a very well made knife and is not a gimmick like so many other multi tool manufacturers. My only complaint with it is that you need fingernails to access the tools and i bite mine so have to use the blunt end of the toothpick to open any of them up. Also i wished it had come with a pouch.Would definetly recommend this knife.

Does the job, we’ll a lot of job’s to be exact. If you like to go camping then look no further for multi tool. This is all you need.
The quality is as you would expect from such a prestigious company. Easy to use and to clean, Evan though it’s a bigger version it still fits comfortably into the hands.
If you need a multi tool you will not be found wanting with this.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this as I practically spend all my time outside weather im working or socially. Tools will come in handy for all sorts and camping season is about to begin again.

This being cheaper than from the SAK website I was worried about the authenticity.

However the quality is outstanding. I am very happy with my purchase. Thinking about getting the old man one for his birthday when it comes

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSo sturdy, so versatile without being huge. The only reason I bought this one is because my old one was lost whilst in hospital. Perfect mix of tools. Friends and workmates have gently mocked me for years always carrying this around, then looked sheepish when asking to borrow it to fix whatever random widget. The only sad thing (and this applies to most knives now) is that having been a carry on travel companion for years (main blade is just under the old regulations length to be in airline hand luggage) the regs changed last year and has to be checked in. Not that any of us are flying as much these days!

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersI bought this after watching all one billion of the videos on YouTube for Swiss Army Knives (SAK’s). I am without a shadow of a doubt very happy with my purchase. I have a small number of multi-tools and this one now ranks as the best.

The SAK has 32 tools that are extremely well engineered. Each tool has been well thought out and positioned very well. Yes, one or two could be in better positions, but you can’t please everyone. I could go on and on about each tool but will release you from the tedium.

I carry this SAK everywhere I go and it has been extremely useful. I work in an office environment and have used it many times in the very short period I have owned it. Even in a suit jacket pocket, the knife is unobtrusive. I did look for a sheath for it, but having carried it as is, I am happy to carry it sheathless.

    Hope this helps.

    A satisfied customer.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersHand on heart the swiss champ is perfection. I wouldn’t change a thing on it. I have owned the Swiss climber for 10 years and used it practically every single day of those years and apart from sharpening the blades the odd time it’s as good as new. The only thing I missed on the climber was a file. So my daughters bought me the champ because it has the file but it has so much more. It has the nail file, metal file, metal saw, plus and I really love this for when I’m out and have forgotten my glasses, a magnifying glass which is so useful for when I can’t read the small print and also if I needed a fire in survival situation. I love the pliers which I used first day to remove a thorn from the dogs paw. It has a load more tools but I won’t go into them all. Suffice to say that for me the swiss army champ is the perfect bladed multi tool for me, I can’t praise it enough, it’s well laid out and made from stainless steel. Very sturdy tool that’s built to last a lifetime and looks good at the same time. Everybody should own a swiss army knife at some time in their life. Once you have one you’ll never be without it and you’ll wonder how you got through all those years without one. Treat yourself you won’t regret it. Highly recommended

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor the price I paid (under 50) this was a bargain. I wanted a versatile item that I could legally carry and this seems to fit the bill perfectly. Usual excellent Victorinox quality.

The video on the Victorinox website was very informative. I found out what several of the tools I had no idea about were actually for! Victorinox are the only people I have found who manufacture in stainless steel that doesn’t rust and will take and hold a razor edge.

The champ is quite heavy and is better in a belt pouch than in a pocket. I bought a Victorinox pouch for a 5-8 row knife when I purchased this knife and it fits perfectly.

Very pleased and looking forward to years of use from this knife, as I have had from previous Victorinox products.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersSo good to have a Swiss Army Knife again. I was bought one as a leaving work gift years ago and I took it all over the world while I was camping and travelling the globe. Unfortunately I forgot to pack it in my suitcase when flying home from Dublin and left it in my handbag. Of course since 9/11 you can’t take these in your hand held luggage so it was swiftly taken off me and thrown in a bin! I was heart broken.
So now I have finally saved up and bought myself a super duper new Swiss army knife which has everything you might ever need in a utility knife. Quite heavy to carry in a handbag this one but I take it to my wood work class (if only to sharpen pencils) and also on walks and picnics. Its brilliant I love it. An extremely handy little companion for all those annoying jobs that crop up and you are away from a big tool box.

Bought one, simply fantastic. I’ve used this for cutting large tree branches, trimming ivy, flowers and hair. Filing and cutting my nails. Cutting through steel off a concrete post. Ive even used it for clearing the water jets on my car using the needle. The fish scailer is pretty pointless but it has other uses like it can brush your hair, brush bits off clothes and can grate food like cheese, cinemon etc the possibilitys are endless. Build quality is like a formula 1 car precision made. We warned you will cut your fingers so be careful. I’ve recently found you can replace the toothpick and replace it with a fire flint a product called firefly which ships from america. This can simply do anything.

I had recently lost my old swiss army knife and wanted to replace it. Bought this as an extra option, mainly as I couldn’t believe how much knife you get for the money. Every option seems covered, bit bulkier than I am used to so maybe less of a pocket knife but will always travel in the car with me or in the hold luggage on holiday for all those times you need a corkscrew, knife, screwdriver…
These things are just so useful and the quality is brilliant. They go on and on with a bit of simple care

In my view the best multi tool and an invaluable companio

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have had and used pocket knives since I was a small boy. To expand on that for those that may be shocked that a small boy was allowed a knife, my father was both a butcher and a Scout leader and believed in the importance of teaching me knife use, responsibility, respect and safety.
I had not actually owned a genuine Victorinox pocket knife before I purchased this due to not being able to afford one, I had a copy of one in my fishing box but it was very poor quality and a few of the tools had quickly snapped off. My concern for buying a genuine one was that it wouldn’t be much better than this awful copy…….how wrong I was!
My favourite pocket knife before this was a Leatherman Micra, which I used pretty much every day. However, I found that I required more tools, so after reading and watching reviews, I decided to bite the bullet and get one of these. It is now my most used pocket knife and I am very glad I purchased it. I got the Victorinox belt case for carrying it when I need to and I barely notice it is there when I do.
I haven’t used every single tool on it yet but I have used most of them. They all work very well and I am constantly surprised at how strong and well made this knife is.
The two knife blades themselves are not the hardest steel in the world, but it is easy to sharpen and holds an edge well.
    I am converted!

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersI have now bought three of these overthe last fifteen years, the second because my original one was stolen and the last as a present for a friend that I know will be treasured for a lifetime.

The quality and finishing is excellent as is the choice of blades and tools. I have a leatherman Wave and while the two complement each other the Swiss Champ is far more useful on far more occasions.

The one star reviews are clearly from people who’ve bought counterfeit items passed off as a genuine Victorinox knife. You know from the descriptions they are not genuine as the quailty control procedures used by any real company would never alllow such products to be released as their reputation would be damaged and you can multiply that by ten for a top brand like Victorinox. They are pricey but unless stolen or mislaid will last a lifetime so on that basis are worth a lifetime. Buy one of these and you will not be dissapointed. It is the leather pouches where the high cost cannot be justified.

I’ve been caught out by fake products sold by unsrupulous sellers on Amazon before and Amazon instantly refunded me. At no point however did I leave a review suggesting the genuine item was rubbish as some have done here.

As always with these genuine Swiss army knives the product is beautifully made and very sturdy .
This was a gift for my son and he has used it numerous times for many different tasks and he loves it .
I have had one of these (with a lot less tools) for many years and it is still perfect .This was on special offer when I ordered it and I wish I’d got one for myself as well as I am now very jealous of all the toys on this one !!!
Not cheap , but a recommended purchase

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis is the third one of these I’ve owned; lost the first one, still have the second and bought this to put in my archery toolbox. The old one is well used but when polished up the blades and tools shine like new. The blades are extremely sharp out of the box and can be kept that way with relative ease. While I own three Leatherman and a couple of Gerber multi-tools the Swiss Champ is the one that is my first choice to carry with me – and it’s UK legal unlike locking blade Leatherman tools. Like most Swiss Army knives it takes two hands to deploy most of the blades or tools but some, like the corkscrew, saw and pliers can, with a bit of dexterity, be open single handed. From an every day carry point of view I look on this as a plus since if I intended some serious mischief a Swiss Army knife would not be my first choice – probably not my fifth or sixth either! However, from a practical point of view it has a plethora of uses, with a screw driver small enough to fix glasses, a pen for notes and while over the years I have used most of the tools, sad to say I have not had a need to employ it to remove stones from a horses hoof. Still, if the need arose…

It’s not exactly svelte but more often than not it’s in a rucksack, briefcase or toolbox rather than a pocket. It does fit in the ticket pocket of a pair of Levi’s and sits quite comfortably there if It needs to. While not as “in” it has a much more refined appearance compared to the all business look of the multi-tool. I’ll concede that its main blade isn’t as strong, its wood saw quite as aggressive nor it’s pliers as plier like as my Leatherman but for occasional diy stuff it does the job admirably well.

Golden Review Award: 40 From Our UsersThis is the definitive Swiss Army Knife.
I got my very first Swiss Champ 30 years ago as a present from my dad. It cost 45 from Peter Maturi in Leeds then, I don’t know how Victorinox have kept the price so low over the years!
The Swiss Champ is the best pocket knife/multitool on the market unless you need a big set of pliers (in which case Leatherman or Gerber are your friends!).
Over the years I have used just about every feature on the Swiss Champ (except the fish scaler!). The newer knives have been improved gradually over the years, adding a pin, better micro screw driver, improved file. The quality of Victorinox steel is much better than leatherman, so I feel confident using the tools without worrying about twisting bits.
We now have three of these knives at home, one for each of us. Invaluable and alongside my leatherman micra it means I am never stuck for a screwdriver, knife or pair of scissors.

I’ve had a swiss army knife for nearly 40 years, since my parents have me one when I was a boy. Amazingly not lost, its still as functional today as the day I bought it…but I really wanted a knife with pliers and a saw so I bought this “Champ” knife. Really impressed with the quality of the knife, and buying it at a discount presented incredible value. Larger and heavier than my previous knife, but it does have double the number of features. Knives are very sharp, and there is evidence of very high quality workmanship – it clicks/folds up nicely, and blade/components are top quality stainless steel. Bought the knife a couple of months ago and co-incidentally last weekend watched a “how do they make it” show on discovery which showed the Victorinox factory and how they make swiss army knives – very impressive! Also had leatherman type tools in the past, but for me its got to be an original swiss army knife any day…

This is now the third Swiss Army Knife I have owned and all are still in service. The first was bought by my Mother now deceased as a present in 1977 from Germany so has great sentlemental value. Sadly it does require some repair as the small blade tip is broken. When I find someone locally I will get it repaired and re-sharpened. My second knife was bought 5 years ago and I think I have reviewed it previously. It is used nearly every day but is still in mint condition. My wife used it for the first time a few days ago to build up a flat pack shoerack. She decided she also wanted a knife but said she would have mine and I could buy a new one. I aganised over the cost really wanting a Champ but was prepared to buy the similar Craftsman. However, my darling wife decided to buy the Champ for me as a present. The little extras such as tiny screw driver, pen, ruler and magnifying glass tipped the balance. Swiss Army Knives are a fantastic product and I will carry this one with me all the time as I have with its predecessors. You will see with my previous reviews I rarely give I 5 star review but with this product I have absolutely no hesitation.

Well I have had my champ knife now for over six years and loss count of the amount times I have used it. Also the amount of applications I have used it for. This is the do it all Swiss army knife. The blade has been sharpen a few times now but still very sharp and in good working order. The knife is a bit on the heavy side for people who like the light weight stuff, but the amount of tools out weighs its little bulk. I would recommended this product to anybody who’s likes camping and the outdoors, it will always have its uses for you. Mine has also come in very handy around the home. Quality is the great as you would expect from any Swiss Army knife.

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersThis is by far the most complete and comprehensive SAK (Swiss Army Knife) in terms of size, weight, tools and functions.

There are larger SAK i.e. the SwissChamp XLT and XAVT that have more tools and functions but size and weight will increase.

The standard SwissChamp has all the tools you could possibly need in such an compact and elegant mutli / pocket tool design.

This SAK comes boxed in the standard Victorinox silvery box and has an accompanying leaflet sowing all the tools (numbered) and examples on how and what each can be used for. Also has general tips on how to look after your SAK.

Overall a very nice bit of kit and well worth the money, would highly recommend to anyone.

The Victorinox Hunstman Victorinox Huntsman Swiss Army Knife – Camouflage is also a very good SAK, if you prefer something a bit smaller.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersReceived this for xmas along with the leather pouch and belt clip with chain. I have a number of SAKs from small keyring types and a camper which ive had for years. I love the quality of these items and the reputation of the brand. I also have a leatherman and a gerber but locking blades on these make them risky to carry about. At least this is uk legal and with the amount of tools on it I reckon it will be more useful.

Update 2019, Five years on and I still have this. To be honest I’ve not abused it so it’s pretty much as I bought it. Apart from scratches to the scales nothing has broken. Amazing how many little tasks this can be used for and still my favourite multi tool.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersTypical Victorinox quality. Not so big a handful as I had expected. This is a good alternative to or companion for a multitool, and ideal for a backpack or belt. Slightly heavier than my first generation Leatherman Wave, yet, a little bit more compact and lighter than my Gerber Suspension. Admittedly the pliers are smaller than those on the above multitools, however the Champ offers some tools which are not found on either. The Victorinox saw design is efficient and easy to use. One tip is to apply more force to the return stroke. Too much careless forward thrust on the saw and the blade can flex, possibly even kink, particularly on green wood. Remember to clean the saw before it is put away. Again, especially after gardening and trimming live branches. A belt sheath or jacket pocket is the best way to carry the Champ. And that is its advantage over the above mentioned multitools – every day carry. Being a slip joint pocket knife, having no locking tools and with all blades less than the legal limit of three inches (end of handle to tip of blade, not merely the length of the cutting edge), the Champ satisfies legal requirements for EDC in the UK. Based on past experience with other Vics (Farmer, Super Tinker, Spartan, Waiter, Cadet, Bantam, SD Classic), I expect many years of service from this one.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have had a number of Victorinox knives over the years. They have never failed. Most have been lost, one was confiscated at an airport and another broken by an idiot.

I love the high quality finish, attention to detail and inventiveness. Every time I have deliberated over my next purchase, I have been attracted by the Swiss Champ, but have been dissuaded by the size of the knife. I always felt it would be too bulky in my pocket. This time, however, I convinced myself that any smaller knife would be a compromise and bought the Swiss Champ.

What an idiot. I should have bought it years ago.

This is the ultimate knife – extreme versatility – which is still, just about, compact enough to carry in your pocket as a daily companion.

I know Desert Island Discs wouldn’t let me have it as my luxury, but I reckon I could use it to carve out a secret cavity in the obligatory copy of The Complete Works of Shakespeare and sneak it on to the island. I would sacrifice Romeo and Juliet in an instant for such a wonderful tool.

Some consider it to be too big for a pocket knife, well it is and you may need a pouch, but its awesome quality and functionality.
It simply has it all, great for those who cannot decide what tools they want on their swiss army knife.
Every tool does a great job if you know how to use it except the corkscrew, i could never get a wine open with it, but it holds the very useful micro screwdriver and i use that a lot.

It comes in a nice gift card box with a big user’s guide that explains the use of all the tools, finally i realized how useful the multipurpose hook can be.

The Swiss Champ is one of the must have swiss army knifes and its the flag ship of Victorinox’s production.
Victorinox advertises it as a 33 tools multitool, but they always count the keyring as a tool too.

Well worth the money, even not perfect, the only flaws i found:
-the wire cutters are way too small, only about 1.7mm, you can cut such small wires with the scissors
-the phillips screwdriver is polished too, so it slips out of the screw head a lot, so you have to use a lot more pressure
-it came overoiled and it took me some time to clean out all excessive oil
but for the price i got it from amazon, on an amazon sale for just 29quid i should really not moan about it, even the current 45quid is still a great price for it.
Highly recommended, great gift, great multitool

I have owned a Swiss champ for about 6 years now and I can say that there is hardly a day goes by that I have not used it.

I am not going to go full out on the specs here but the Victorinox champ is a proper penknife with a multitude of attachments which will be used sooner or later for at least one purpose.

Both knives are extremely sharp as are the scissors, the pliers also come in very handy and are very sturdy.

If you want to own a Swiss army knife then this is the one as it includes a lot of attachments which are included in many other models.

It is very manageable and not too bulky that it cant be put in your pocket. It will suit almost every outdoor enthusiast from mountain climbers to fisherman. Definitely a five star product you won’t be disappointed.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersI bought this item last week for an anniversary present for my boyfriend.
It arrived so fast i couldn’t even believe it. About two days it took to get here when it had been expected 4 days after online purchase.
Everything was fine until I noticed that the box was slightly scruffy and not sealed correctly. No tape closed the box and it looked like it may have been opened before.
I ignored this minor detail, and I decided to survey the army knife incase it had been touched. And to my surprise there were small scratches on the side, sounds silly but it looked as though someone had scratched the side with a nail file. I opened all the little gadgets up (with great difficulty because they are so tightly compact) and noticed water in all the joints as though it had been recently washed.
I am not returning the item because the defects are that minor but I decided to write feedback incase this happens to anybody else.
    Thanks!

Golden Review Award: 42 From Our UsersI bought this Victorinox SwissChamp just over a year ago now.

    It is absolutely superb.

This is my verdict on the tools:

    1. Large blade – excellent, razor sharp out of the box, ground on both sides and tapers to a point, secure. Used it for opening packages, cutting bags and string etc. NO LOCK ON ANY BLADES

    2. Small blade – small version of large blade and is also excellent. Used it for sharpening a pencil, cuting a slot in a Jelly Belly pot to create a money box etc.

    3. Nail file – excellent, files nails brilliantly, also can be used as a metal file.

    4. Nail cleaner – good, works like it should; my nails are now cleaner than ever before.

    5. Metal saw – haven’t used this but is of good, strong, sturdy quality.

    6. Wood saw – haven’t used it but large teeth close together and have seen someone use it excellently.

    7. Fish scaler – looks good

    8. Hock disgorger – another tool useful to fishermen

    9. Inch ruler / cm rule – good, clear divisions

    10. Scissors – leaf spring, open very wide, excellent clean cut, strong, curved end so high quality cut along length of blades, look wonderful, not serrated unlike Wenger’s, used to cut thread, paper etc.

    11. Pliers – great, thick, strong, leaf spring loaded, large teeth for small bolts, small teeth near end for more delicate work, fixed joint not slip joint unlike Wenger’s, used to pull nails out of a shelving unit etc., quite small though…

    12. Wire cutter – small, in joint of pliers and pliers must be opened fully before it becomes visible, haven’t had cause to use it but should work well.

    13. Magnifying glass – great clarity and excellent for looking at items in detail, used for examining things like coins and fossils

    14. Phillips screwdriver – Excellent – works perfectly, thick, strong lock, 90 and 180 degrees locking as seen in photo, would recommend this on its own!

15/16. Can opener and small screwdriver – haven’t used them but seen them work excellently. Use can opener working away from you.

17/18/19. Bottle opener and wire stripper and large screwdriver. Haven’t used wire stripper. Bottle opener works really well, opened a J2o with it. Also good for beer or any capped bottle. Screwdriver excellent and worked really well for me when securing my bed, both locked fully out and at 90 degrees (fully out in photo, phillips screwdriver is out at 90 degrees)

    20. keyring – excellent for carrying it on I would think

21,22,23. reamer, sowing eye, punch – haven’t used it but should work well

    24. 2.5 mil slotted screwdriver – works well, used to undo a cross head screw and undo a binder so far…

    25. Wood chisel – can also be used as a paint scraper

    26. Multi purpose hook – useful for many things, undoing knots, carrying parcels with string, holding bike chains etc.

    27. corkscrew – not used but looks quite small – may split cork, may not, time will tell

    28. Mini screwdriver – excellent, used to tighten my glasses screws

    29. Tweezers – good quality and used to extract something from my foot

    30. Ball point pen – small but mighty and as of yet unused

    31. Toothpick – small and plastic, should be useful

    32. Straight pin – not a sowing needle, just a straight pin, useful for unblocking stuff (like tap covers or the washers on cars) and is hidden just at the base of the corkscrew in the scale itself

    33. wire crimper – in pliers handles and haven’t used it yet but good for electricians I should guess, like the wire stripper.

Therefore, as you can see, with 33 functions, excellent Victorinox quality and a lifetime warranty, this is in my opinion the bes tool in the world.

I would recommend it but would also recommend the belt pouch too as it is quite large and heavy.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI just received this item today. It seems a shame to just call it a knife. Wonderful piece of precision Swiss engineering is a better name for it.

I was lucky to get the Champ. I knew I wanted a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife but only really had a quick look at the options available. I chose the Champ in less than a few minutes. I’m glad I bought this version.

I didn’t buy it as an every day tool. While it’s variety of tools are all top quality, I wouldn’t like to do a days work with it. It’s more of a “never be caught out again” thing for me. I bought the Victorinox leather pouch too so I can always keep this with me.

I am really amazed at the quality of the workmanship. I know they knock these out in the thousands per day, but even so it’s beautiful piece of work.

It feels so sturdy. Before I received it I thought it might feel a bit big in my hand, but the width of the knife feels great when holding it. It feels solid in your hand and you can really grip it tight. Something I’m, sure you might struggle doing on some of their smaller knives.

I can think back over the years to times when I could have made good use of nearly every one of the tools on the Champ.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBought as a replacement for a lost one, I have owned and used Swiss Army knives since joining the Scouts 46 years ago. I’ve been using a Champ for over 25 years. This, latest, version of the Champ is, of course, up to the usual extremely high standard that I have always found with the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife.

My only problem is losing the knives. I did have one Champ for around 15 years without losing it and sent it back for servicing twice: not because it was broken in any way but because of rough use and abuse by me. Needless to say, the knife was returned in “like new” condition.

Each Champ I have had has always had a slight improvement. Not change for change’s sake but genuine improvement. On my new one, I notice that the design of the magnifying glass has changed and is now a single piece; the pliers now have crimping tool included and there is a new hook included which is great for helping to cary heavy packages where the plastic handles or cord cut into your fingers.

I get the impression that no change is made until it has been thoroughly researched and tested and decided to be a real improvement.

These knives have to be the most reliable, well made and useful products in the world. Long may they continue. Victorinox 1679500 Swiss Army Knife Champ – Red
