It is no secret that puzzles make a person’s brain see things in terms of parts and wholes. Wood Trick 3D Mechanical Models appeal to people from different age groups.

  • enhances creative thinking skills;
  • promotes critical thinking skills;
  • develops problem-solving and reasoning skills.

You will actually build your own Parisian Carousel in the form of 3d wooden puzzle from scratch!

No words can fully describe the satisfaction upon completing a full set!

Building one model with the entire family creates a great bonding experience for each family member.

“Wood Trick” constructor kits will bring the family together by keeping children away from eye-straining tablets, and instead promoting comprehensive brain development. This development is achieved by introducing children to the (fun)damentals of mechanics, cultivating patience and attention, promoting fine motor skills, and encouraging imaginative artistic thinking.

    Basically a fun project ( my seventy-third of this type – Ugears, ROKR, Wood Trick, etc). Works like in the promotional videos, lights, music and all (the music, though is just “tinkle tinkle”, doesn’t sound like a carousel) Would have given fivestars but required a lot of adjustment once completed in order to work right every time. But definitely a good product.

    I’ve been building this carousel on and off for a little while now and still in the process of finishing it off. The kit to make it arrives flat, the wooden pieces have to be pressed out, that in itself isn’t too easy as the wood is quite thick. All the pieces are clearly labled and the instructions are fairly ok but not brilliant. Their is a bit in the kit where you have to wrap a metal band around a coil in order to construct part of the music box that’s inside the carousel. This is nearly impossible to do and I think should have been pre made. I did eventually manage to fit it after several attempts. The carousel should look really impressive when finished, the parts I’ve assembled look good and very sturdy. The kit isn’t for the faint hearted and requires time and physical strength in your hands, but once built it will an accomplishment you are proud of.

    This was a great project with my daughter who is eight. We used paint pens to color it before putting it together. Much sturdier than similar products from other brands. Remember to use the wax on all moving parts!

    This model is very well made, with beautifully cut pieces. I did it on my own and it took me longer than I expected. I am in no way an expert at model making, although I do love puzzles. It was a bit fiddly and frustrating, but ultimately it was very interesting to do. The finished product is lovely and I would be happy to put it on display.

    I’m an avid 3D puzzler, and this has got to be one of my favourite kits so far. The carousel design gives me very nostalgic Mary Poppins vibesit certainly brought out my inner child. The whole ensemble works as a lovely piece of decor to have on display.

    The pieces feel quite sturdy and slot in together very well. Smooth edges with no splintery bits or rough corners like I’ve come across in previous wooden puzzles. The music is such a nifty feature, and really helps bring the carousel to life.

    Such a fun build. Not too challenging, but still something older teens and adults would enjoy putting together. I’d be happy to recommend.

    This is a beautifully intricate wooden puzzle. It isn’t your normal straightforward puzzle and does take longer than suggested to build. I did this with my son and he gifted it to his sister once finished.
    In spite of the difficulty, the end result is well worth it. The pieces are heave, very detailed and intricately carved, making this a beautiful piece.
    The end result is lovely with lights, rotation and plays La Vie en Rose. His sister loved the end product and it takes pride of place in her room.
    It does seem pricey at first but you can see the thought and detail in each piece and the end product is quite stunning.
    It would make a nice gift for anyone that loves puzzles craft or modelling.

    This arrives flat pack with a whole heap of parts. The quality is immediately clear from the weight of the wood and the intricacy of the carving.

    There are good instructions inside, but I was helped greatly by other reviewers tips and videos for constructing, and I must be lucky that mine is in working order. It took a lot longer than the 3 hours they suggest, but then if you enjoy model making you’ll be quicker than me. Also it would be quite a nice social craft-y type activity. Take warning when you do the spring bit – like another reviewer said, best wear gloves at that point in case of laceration. (I didn’t have that problem but I can see how you could.)

    The end result is really beautiful – the intricate carving, the rotation, the lights and the music (La Vie En Rose). Magical. Personally I think I’d prefer to have been given it complete (and of course you can always make it as a gift for someone) but it would be a treat for any crafty model makers.

    I think the current price of 58.90 is expensive, but given the contents I can understand it. I could see this being well loved and becoming an heirloom to hand down the generations.

    Absolutely beautiful - not as easy to construct as they say

    I’ve never come across anything like this. There’s a lot more to it than meets the eye — enough to justify the price. The pieces are perfectly cut and go together precisely, without glue. The weight alone confirms the quality. It would keep most people occupied for best part of a day, with tremendous satisfaction on completing it. The excellent instructions make it fairly straightforward, if care and time are taken.

    Our arty teenage granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed assembling it and now has a beautiful music box in which she can take a great deal of pride. It would make a wonderful gift for the right person.

    Arrived safe and well presented 3D wooden puzzle, a lovely parisian carousel music box. The pieces are well made, with lots of details and no glue needed. It has 440 pieces and is not that easy to made, needa lots of concentration and time to do it, is level 4 out of 5.
    Of course the result will be amazing, but you need to work hard to make it.
    It would be a lovely gift for adults or older kids, passionate of puzzles or building legos.
    I would highly recommend it.

    amazing gif

    This is a good quality beautiful design wood music box, is a lot heavier than I thought, the wood itself has smooth lines, it has detailed instructions with pictures, makes easy to build it, no glue needed, it took me about 4 to 5 hours of good time to get it done, and I’m really happy I ordered it for myself

    This is a beautiful to put together Parisian Carousel that uses 3D wood pieces ( total pieces 440 ) using top grade sanded plywood , no glue needed . It takes around 3 hours to construct ( it takes me a lot longer but I do not rush I savour it ) . This will be the third one I have put together a Robotime 3D marble run and a Baroque clock , there are a huge collection that suits everyone to choose from all different and excellent quality . Lovely models that family can get together and children can join in to share quality time together . This carousel is a music box and is backlit using 2x CR2032 batteries ( not included ) . Looks great as a feature piece on a shelf or even a night light and is a good talking point . They make lovely gifts that are different .

    Great fun for a family to build togethe

    I’m assuming the parts are laser cut because they’re impressively complicated and detailed. Assembling it is going to take patience and many hours but the fab part is that unlike even the best jigsaws, this results in a lovely music box.
    A wonderful gift for older children and adults.

    This looks pretty complicated to make but once you get going it’s relatively easy because it’s quite repetitive. All the pieces slot together without glue – a bit like a 3D jigsaw and once it’s made, it’s an actual working model that turns and plays music. You need 2 x 2032 batteries but they last for ages so there’s no need to worry about the expense of buying batteries for it all the time.

    All in all, a really nice model which would make a good gift for an older child or adult who likes making things and despite being quite delicate looking it’s actually pretty sturdy as long as you keep it out of reach of very young children.
