    Overall a really good produc
I needed a new controller but needed a budget option and I stumbled across this product, this is a good product but came with a few scratches, after dropping it once the joystick popped out of place and I had to fix it myself, this was not that hard but still a bit of a struggle.

If you have the money for a controller don’t buy a refurbished one unless you have a lot of trust for the provider.

    Might recommend.

Not rechargeable 'out of the box'
There were a couple of very detailed reviews that stated that this controller comes with the optional rechargeable batery pack. This was NOT true in my case. It does come with a pair of Duracel AA batteries. I’ve not marked it down (just thought you should know), I have a number of top brand German rechargeable AA batteries that I’ll use instead of spending more cash on an already pricey controller. It feels good during a quick test on Amazon Luna; I bought it for a new Samsung QLED and it’s gaming hub, which negates the need for an xbox or ps5 – can’t wait for that to arrive! (been a PC gamer in the past but cloud games are looking good enough for my purposes these days)

I bought it to have a second controller for my PC. I currently have a PS4 controller and wanted to test the Xbox one. It feels comfortable and natural in my hands, and I use it today as my main controller.

The official controller but with a great colour and battery pack
The Xbox Wireless Controller is a fantastic piece of gaming hardware that perfectly encapsulates the essence of the Xbox gaming experience. Whether you’re gaming on an Xbox console, PC, or even mobile devices, this controller sets a high standard for comfort, performance, and versatility.

The standout feature of this controller is its ergonomic design. It feels incredibly comfortable in your hands, allowing for extended gaming sessions without discomfort. The textured grips ensure a secure hold, and the button placement is intuitive, making it easy to jump into games without a learning curve.

The build quality is exceptional. The controller feels robust and durable, capable of withstanding the rigors of intense gaming. The buttons are tactile and responsive, providing precise input for a wide range of games, from first-person shooters to platformers.

The controller’s wireless connectivity is seamless, thanks to Xbox’s proprietary technology. It connects quickly to Xbox consoles and Windows PCs without the need for additional adapters. Additionally, it’s compatible with Bluetooth, making it a versatile option for gaming on Android and iOS devices.

The inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack is a thoughtful addition, allowing you to easily connect your favorite gaming headset without the need for additional accessories. It’s a feature that enhances the immersive gaming experience.

The controller’s compatibility with Xbox’s Play and Charge Kit ensures you don’t have to constantly replace disposable batteries, making it both eco-friendly and cost-effective in the long run. Great thing is this controller comes with a free play and charge kit included in the price.

Great feeling controllers but break way to easily
The Series X controllers are probably the best controllers out there, but for the price they are over priced because they break way too easily. Microsoft will thankfully replace them for free as long as they are still in their one year warranty. My last controller was replaced twice, each only lasting around 4-5 months. The second replacement broke after 5 months if even, that’s 3 controllers broke within 15 months. It’s always Stick Drift or RB button breaking, and I am not rough with my controllers. It’s the build quality that’s the issue, and many times the face buttons can all feel different with each controller, some being spongey or bad button sensitivity. The most recent one I just bought definitely feels like the best feeling one since my first controller that came with the Series X, but it’s a lucky dip weather your controller comes the way it’s suppose to or you end up with a controller with a dodgy feeling face button. I hate PlayStation controllers but at least they don’t break easily.

    Gorgeous controlle
Absolutely lovely looking controller that has all the great features like textured grips on the sides and triggers, a beautiful 2 tone color that switches between blue and purple, And a sweet little bonus.

People who don’t know, you actually get an amazing dynamic background with this controller. It’s a blue and purple galaxy that moves on your Xbox console and you can access it by going into personalisation, dynamic backgrounds, Xbox and selecting it. It’s the best background I’ve seen and a great bonus.

The picture shown features the Kontrol freek thumbsticks and those are bought separately.

Overall one of the best looking official Xbox controllers that glimmers and changes color, comes with textured padded grips and has a truly beautiful added exclusive background. Perfect.

    Legit Microsoft OEM controlle
This has been my go to controller for 6/7 months, yet to have any issues.

All of these controllers are prone to drift and sticky buttons but I try to clean mine every week or so with wipes and something to get into the grooves to stop any sort building up.

I’ve accidentally dropped this at least 4 times and me or my friends/ fam have sat on it and it’s still doing what I want it to, maybe I have that 1 in a million but this seems pretty hard wearing.

My honest recommendation is to wait for prime day or Black Friday and get them cheaper if you can wait bc they’re expensive, but for what I paid and the quality I’ve had I really couldn’t fault it. Good but if kit and a nice colour way

Xbox Series S/X Controller Robot White
Excellent control pads the official xbox series s/x slightly smaller than previous ones, I like the underneath of the controller with its textured grip. I use the rechargeable Venom batteries with the charging station like in the picture i uploaded. It makes a nice change to actually get to Duracell batteries included in the box. 4.5 out of 5 great controller.

Good controller at a decent price.
This is my third Xbox One controller. My first two were early models with the old style D-pad. They suffered from a broken trigger then a broken D-pad. Hopefully third time’s a charm and this one lasts as long as my old Xbox 360 controllers did.

I needed a controller fast but didn’t want to go off brand. I wanted to stick with xbox so I went with this series x controller. I wanted a black one but for some reason this neon green controller was about 10 euros cheaper so I went with it.

There are a few subtle differences for the old Xbox one controllers. First is the redesigned concave D-pad. This actually took me a minute to get used to as it actually does feel different from the traditional style D-pad. Secondly is the added ‘share’ button which I really like as it allows me to record video and take screenshots without using the keyboard. Thirdly is the textured grip on the triggers, bumpers and bottom of the controller. These are also a welcome addition and feel better than the smooth grips of the original controllers.

The wireless features seem a bit more responsive as well. It seems like the controller connects to my computer much faster and remains connected with any signal drops.

Overall I’m enjoying this controller and I’m glad I bought it.

Amazing looking controller but for a premium price
Absolutely looking forward to playing Starfield and got this controller in the heat of it, Its an amazing looking piece of tech, especially those transparent triggers, that is bit too expensive for what it is.
At the end of the day, its a fancy Xbox controller. Great to get if you are a collector.
One con I have about this controller is that the texture on the part where all the buttons and joysticks are is a slippery type of plastic, I myself prefer the more rough texture on the original Xbox Series S ontroller.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI do like the controller design, the build quality though is another story.
Like all Xbox controllers aside from the old Xbox one Red one they did, they all seem to suffer from terrible build quality. This doesn’t mean it gets stick drift immediately, but after three months of light usage the controller will either work flawlessly or start developing problems.

It’s a shame because these controllers are designed with comfort in mind, they aren’t too big or small and feel really good to use! They have a much nicer grip than the old Xbox one controllers. All that being said though they aren’t reliable at all. Stick drift, unresponsive buttons to outright failure of the controller all together.

Overall is a fantastic controller, with low latency and comfort in mind! Let down by poor build quality.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOfficial controller and works amazingly
I had been using an official 360 controller on my PC since 2013. After a decade of service, it was time to retire it.

Generally, third party controllers are terrible. They just have something not quite right about them. I decided to pay more and get a brand new official controller.

Sadly with the PC, you need bluetooth for wireless mode. I decided to purchase a long USB C cable and use it wired.

As a controller it works great. It’s a step up from the 360 controller. The buttons work well, the D-pad is so much better and the sticks are brilliant.

I know it’s generally more expensive, but if you do get a controller, just a get a new official one rather than trying to save 10 – 20 quid on something that is refurbed or 3rd party and doesn’t feel quite right. I got a decade out of my old controller and I’m looking at something similar for this guy.

    Feels good in the hand.
Bought the Starfield Lmited Edition controller. Design looks sleek and understated.
The main reason why I bought this controller over the PS5 controller is because I’m using this to play games on a PC. Since I’m using Windows OS, I was thinking and hoping that it wasn’t going to take me more than a few steps to connect my controller to my PC.
It was plug and play, didn’t need to do anything special to get it to start working. Don’t know if it was because of Windows or if it was because of Steam.
Ergonomically, all of the buttons are within reach when you hold the controller. You didn’t need to stretch or strain to reach any buttons or joystick.
Lastly, I bought an expensive controller and it feels expensive once I got it: the weight of the controller and feel of the plastic feels premium.
-1 star because it doesn’t include a usb with the price. It did include a pair of battery, though.

Expensive, but I have not found a cheaper alternative I would recommend
So official X Box controllers are expensive.
The problem is that the cheaper alternatives are simply not as well made and don’t last.
That is a statement made from experience, and grudgingly so.

There is not a lot to say here that has not been said before.
If you have an Xbox, you will need a second controller at some point, unless your friends don’t ever come round to play (PC gamers to the rest of us 🙂 )

Don’t waste your money on an alternative. Buy cheap and buy twice!
Microsoft will point to the fact that quality comes at a price.
I cannot argue with the quality, they are extremely well made and put up with ridiculous amounts of abuse.
Although if Microsoft were to sell these for 10-15 less I suspect they would sell a heck of a lot more of them!

In simple terms. You will need one at some point and there is no better choice of controller for the X Box (or PC but then you need the Bluetooth adaptor and that is annoyingly expensive also!)

Thanks for reading and I hope you found the review useful. 🙂

    Excellent produc
Product is excellent, if using this on Windows with the Wireless Dongle. Ensure to get the 2nd gen dongle and update the controller. This will stop the controller switching off randomly when pressing multiple key combos. Besides the update after it’s done the controller is very reliable and responsive like playing on XBOX itself. This works with Steam and also Windows Store games. Possibly many other Windows platforms.

Grat quality, BUT so expensive for a battery powered controller in 2022.
Great standard controller from Xbox, but having to get rechargeable batteries or something in this day and age is a weird decision by Microsoft. So you spend 50+ for the controller then another 10-15 quid on a rechargeable battery set or standalone. Its next gen MS, not 2005!!

Hopefully it will last a while though. You always got to have 2 controllers just incase.

Better than the last generation pads. Great for fighting games... Finally!
This controller is honestly sick. Comfortable and works great with PC (after updating it). Also the rumble in the triggers adds a lot to games like Forza Horizon 4 and 5.

For fighting games fans who have had to suffer with Dualshock 4 dpads wearing down fast and giving imprecise inputs, the bad clicky af 4 way Xbone controller, or the utterly terrible 360 disk thing, you can safely remove that Hori fight commander from your wishlist.

This dpad is awesome. Motion inputs feel good, wavedashing and KBD in Tekken is consistent, instant air moves are tight, it all feels good and never wears down after the initial stiffness is gone.

    Excellent remote for Xbox One
Having read some of the reviews I was worried about the durability of the controller. However, after having my new remote for over 4 months I can guarantee that the product is definitely worth it. For the price Amazon offers as well as the delivery, it’s the best option for an Xbox one controller currently and offers a much smoother, nicer feel with the grips and the trigger/bumper adapted grip.

    Fantastic Controller !
Love this model, although it looks very similar to the original Xbox controller, this newer model has a nice grip texture on the bottom of the body and bumpers. USB C is a great upgrade and Bluetooth works perfectly too. I bought this to use on PC (this model now removes the need to buy a usb dongle), originally I had some disconnection issues, to anyone else suffering this too id recommend downloading the Xbox accessories app in windows as the controller simply needed an update to fix the issues I was having. Works great now, definitely recommend this controller one of the best you can buy.

A bit more expensive than other options or chinese rip off brands but you do get what you pay for. Excellent build quality, feels comfortable and responsive, durable too. It’s worth paying a little more for this one than a cheaper alternative as it won’t break.

PC OWNERS, YOU'LL NEED TO UPDATE THE CONTROLLERS SOFTWARE
Anyone that wants to use this controller on a PC, please make sure you download the “Xbox Accessories” app from the microsoft store. It’s free and you will more than likely need it to update the controllers software, because if you do not your controllers bluetooth will often disconnect. Updating the controllers software will fix this issue, you just need a USB Type C cable which for some reason this package does not unclude. Enjoy.

Feels great, slightly smaller than the previous Xbox One controller. It connected straight away with my existing Xbox One usb wireless receiver. Can actually have both controllers – my old Xbox One and this one – connected at the same time. Handy if you’re in say a boss fight and the batteries die in one controller, you just press the X button on the other and you’re good to go.
Stays on far too long after not using it.

You can checkout my other review about this controller with the dongle, to put shortly it’s the best Xbox controller so far and only thing that comes close to it is the Xbox elite 2 controller. It's fine?
It’s ok but there is some weirdness.

An odd deadzone when the directional stick is in use, makes for bizarre behaviour in some games. When centred or centring the stick it seems to lose all ability to track that I just did this, which means when hurtling down a race track at 200+ miles an hour in f1 2020 the car drifts and over corrects when I have to readjust.

grip feels weird lack of texture like I want to rubberise the thing to stop it feeling slippy.

Best controller I've used, is comfortable and responsive
I play on PC and whenever I want to use a controller I like to go with official xbox ones since I’ve never had an issue with them.

This one looks and feels amazing, the rumble is deep and every button is nice to press, especially the triggers. There’s no annoying clack when I play and although i have small, dainty lady hands it’s still a very comfortable controller. Can’t fault it, is probably the best controller I’ve used

    Exeptional but expensive
I bought this new controller for my pc as i needed a quick replacement after mine broke.
I am NOT by any means a professional at what i’m explaining but I am Casual Gamer.
While the standard xbox one controller is good, The New sleek and slightly smaller design may be difficult to get to grips with after so many hours on the old controller. The new c-type charger port i feel is slightly more responsive over cable vs the new 5.1 bluetooth upgrade. The new minor changes towards the left and right bumpers and triggers has a much nicer feel compared to the previous design in comparason. not much can be said about the rest of the controls as they feel almost the same to me just with a different textured feel.
Overall Great purchase if your looking for a new controller, but if you still have a fully working controller the i feel it is not enough to warrent purchasing the controller that is in my opinion quite expensive 10 more the the previous counterpart.

Works with PC, but beware quality control
Works great with PC: Connection is simple, build feels solid, there’s grippy comfortable rubber, and it’s lighter than the Elite. but beware quality control, the first one i ordered had a fault in one of triggers, which had a tactile and audible click which often worsen over time. It’s worth presing all the buttons, triggers, and rolling the joypad to feel for inconsistencies. That said, the replacement is perfect:

Great controller let down slightly by Windows and lack of included cable.
This is the first controller I’ve bought in a while – We have a bunch of old Xbox 360 wireless controllers, and one 3rd party Xbox One controller made by Power A.

This unit, being bluetooth, gives it wider compatibility than the old 360 controllers but frustratingly, when we bought this on release day in November 2020, it wasn’t compatible with iOS devices. A fix was promised and was finally delivered in late April 2021 with iOS, iPadOS, and TVOS 14.5 – we have now used this on Windows PCs, Apple TV, iPhone, and iPad.
It worked perfectly using the Steam link app on the Apple TV to control PC games, and it also worked well for Minecraft on iPhone / iPad.

On the downside, there were pairing issues with Windows at first, which necessitated a firmware upgrade to fix. Simple if you have an Xbox as you can do it wirelessly, but for Windows, you need a USB-C cable, which they do not include with the controller. I have plenty of cables but I’m sure many do not.
You need to install the XBox Accessories App from the Windows store, connnect the controller via cable, and then update. Apparently it can also be done using the old Xbox wireless adaptor for Windows (I have one but have not tried it with this controller).
    – Despite doing this, there are still sometimes pairing issues with Windows, to the point that we generally use it wired on the desktop PC for simplicity (and to remove the need for batteries).

The only other device we have that we’d like to try using this with is the now discontinued Steam Link box. I will update the review once I have tested this.

On balance, we really like this controller and plan to buy another, but buyer beware, if you are buying this for a Windows 10 PC, make sure you have a USB-C cable to update the firmware. There are now instructions on the Microsoft web site.

Perfect on PC after updating the controller!
Great, comfortable and high quality controller. Not too taxing on batteries (the included ones lasted just under a month) Exactly as you’d expect from an official Xbox controller.

One tip is that if you are buying this for Bluetooth PC use and you are having trouble with it disconnecting randomly for a few seconds, you need to update the controller! A quick Google will give you instructions on how to do this from a Windows 10 machine. I almost sent mine back, but after some googling I found this fix and it has worked PERFECTLY ever since. I’d be willing to guess this is probably the best wireless PC controller on the market.

The best controller from microsoft yet!
Unreal quality compared to the last gen of xbox one controllers, the plastic grips that have been added to the back of the controller and both triggers really make it feel comfortable to hold for longer periods of time.

It doesn’t come packaged with a USB-C cable which if you’re like me i like to stay wired as to avoid batteries at all cost so i bought a separate 3M cable for around 5 and it’s perfect (any newer android charger will work the same)

Had no issues with buttons or triggers or anything with the controller really it’s perfect for my use as a more hardcore gamer.

Overall lightweight feel Dpad feels very responsive compared to older gen and in my personal opinion the best that they’ve bought out in controllers for a long time even better than the elite series of controllers.

This controller also works amazing well on my PC syncing with no issues on all of the games i play across steam battle net epic games launcher and the xbox app itself (rocket league borderlands etc)

Highly reccomend this or another colourway of it if the red blue white or volt options look nicer to you!

    10/10 for me personally!!!

On your PC press the windows button
    Type “bluetooth”
Select “Bluetooth and other devices settings”
    Ensure “Bluetooth” toggle is ON
Click the plus symbol “Add Bluetooth or other device”
Click 1st option “Bluetooth Mice, keyboards…” (do NOT click 3rd option “Xbox controllers”!)
On your controller press the power button (big round X) then on the front, next to the usb socket, press and hold the small black circle button until the power button flashes faster
This switches the bluetooth pairing mode on and your PC should find and pair the controller now
Note – you might need to remove your old paired controller before doing the new pairing

Pretty good controller for pc just a couple things to explain for it though:
This controller does not require batteries to work with pc as a wired controller. It can connect via usb-c without any batteries installed and function completely. There is unfortunately no cable with this. The controller also requires an application to work “xbox accessories” which isnt large or intruding, just another step. First time use will require you to update the controller’s firmware.

Saw some other views stating it doesnt work with Windows 10 – it does, you need to download the Xbox PC app and update the firmware in the controller.

There are a couple of youtube videos which explain how to do this for those who arent sure.

Please note, you will also need to buy a USB A to USB C cable to connect, ensure that it is a DATA TRANSFER cable, not a simple charging cable or the controller wont work.

Subtle Upgrades & A Great Improvement!
Having only just upgraded from my controller received when I bought my Xbox One S, the design on this is largely the same, but the subtle improvements make it feel so much more robust and overall – far more nice in the hand. The texturized grips, as well as triggers make it comfortable for longer sessions, and somewhat sweatproof for those intense ranked games on Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege! A few small, but genuinely decent improvements from Microsoft/Xbox, that I am certain are welcomed by all of us Xbox fanatics.

USB-C! What more do I need to say!

Feels very durable and the facelift looks great. It’s nice to see they’ve dropped that horrible weak micro USB port, I’ve gone through so many of them til now.

The 3.5mm audio jack is very welcome as is the standard proprietary port for Xbox headsets.

Thumbsticks feel nice and don’t feel like they’ll drift anytime soon. I have risers on the sticks for more control in racing games and they fit perfectly.

Bluetooth capability makes mobile gaming possible as does connecting to a PC if your computer supports that.

No issues and in my opinion an improvement on the original dedicated Xbox One controllers. Love the textured surface of the controller and triggers and I’m a big fan of the new ‘elite style’ d-pad.

An Excellent Upgrade on the Xbox Controller (with caveats for Windows 10)
The controller itself being slightly smaller in the hand than the older model and feels good. It also has a contoured back making feel more grippy. The DPad is vastly better giving much finer control and a satisfying click. Other than that it’s your standard Xbox controller we all know.

The only issue comes using this with Windows 10. I connected this to my PC with my onboard Bluetooth, while it would connect, it would drop connections and not work in some games. This is easily fixed by updating the firm ware on the controller.

To update the controller you’ll need the Xbox Accessories app and a USB A to USB C cable (a phone cable would work). The process only takes a few minutes and solved all the problems with the controller.

Once updated this is the best controller I’ve used period.

Bought to replace an older Xbox One controller for PC kit that came with the official USB Bluetooth dongle. This new controller synced perfectly with the old USB dongle within seconds of taking out of the box and turning on.
Has different more textured surface to the grips and triggers, I quite like it. The D pad has a more defined louder click to it’s operation which I’m not too keen on but over time I think that will lessen due to use.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHuge improvement over original Xbox One controlle
I got this to replace my original Xbox One controller, which after seven years has some very dodgy button recognition going on now.

I wish I’d got one sooner, it’s a huge improvement over the original – the sides have a bumpy contour to them, improving grip, the L and R triggers too and the D pad is a thousand times better. On second use I won my very first solo Call of Duty Warzone, and that was definitely not down to my skill.

I will say prior to getting this I did get a (Microsoft officially licensed) controller by Power A which are quite a bit cheaper. Compared to this, it felt clunky and unresponsive.

This also has a dedicated button to share videos and screenshots, which I used once to see what it did, if you’re into that sort of thing, I’m sure it’s great, very responsive but not for me.

Yeah, in this instance the official (and expensive) controller is definitely the best bet here.

Definitely an ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it approach’ but Xbox have nailed these controllers for the new generation, and pretty much improved everything I disliked about the previous ones… more grip on the rear, bumpers and triggers seem more solid and less prone to breaking – the thing eats through AA batteries especially in longer playing sessions so I’d recommend getting rechargeable or a battery pack but overall a great piece of kit to go along with my Xbox Series X, would deffo recommend…

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersAn excellent controller with a few nice changes
It’s if not broken then don’t fix it.
A proverb that applies very much to this controller, at first it looks almost indistinguishable from the xbox one s.
The feel of it is much different though.
The back isn’t smooth like the previous pad, it has a raised textured surface that make it easier to keep a grip on the controller. If like me your hands sweat after a few hours of gaming this is a godsend.
The d pad is the other big change.
Its very clicky and precise when it comes to inputs, I play allot of MAME and fighting games like street fighter and tekken and inputs like quarter circles are easy with this pad
I use this pad on a Windows 10 pc and as far as connection goes i use an official Xbox wireless adapter.
It connected instantly just like the xbox one s controller did so I can’t comment on the connection problems other people are facing with Bluetooth.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersVery comfortable with improved grip and easier to use triggers.
    Fantastic.

Much more comfortable to use than the old type.
I can confirm that this is backwards compatible with the xbox one.
Also I can confirm that the xbox chat pad still fits onto the new controller.
The changes are subtle but make a huge difference. Actual controller size has not changed.,its the triggers that have been made more ergonomic and now there is a decent grip system on the back of the controller making this very comfortable for long gaming sessions,
Also the new d pad is a huge improvement and more accurate than the old style.
Still feels robust as well .

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMuch better D-Pad for 2D games and overall perfect for PC gaming
I bought it day one to use with my new gaming PC.
I’ve tried it with many games already, including 2D games and while the PS4 controller still has superior D-Pad,this has a better D-Pad compared to Xbox One controller.
overall it’s the best choice for gaming on PC, supported by all games and easily connects to bluetooth.

Very comfortable, very similar to the Xbox one controller.

The grip feels pretty good too.

Used on Windows 10 – works perfectly.

I had a disconnecting problem at first which was fixed after updating the controlle

    Great controller. Great quality.
Looks good quality. Fits well in the hand.
This is a really good controller. Not sure about longevity as I have only just got the controller, but hopefully it will last as long as the original xbox controllers.

Golden Review Award: 62 From Our UsersThis controller DOES WORK on PC!
Been waiting awhile for the controller since I pre-ordered it and it is with great shame that it took some work to get this running. First you need to download the Xbox accessories app for windows just to get this to work on your pc games after using the app to update the controller. Something that wasn’t needed with prior Xbox controllers. On the other hand in regards to this being a successor, the controller feels more grippy with a matte finish on the back and the shoulder buttons and surprisingly the controller is slightly smaller. At first glance I thought the smaller size would be a hinderance but actually, it feels more snug in my hands, which is a compliment as Xbox controllers in my opinion had been more ergonomically friendlier for the hands.
