I tried a cheaper option, which as not specifically for any machine, turned out to be way too big, so I bit the bullet and splashed out for this, it comes in kit form, Velcros together so easy to dismantle and store away, fit my XTool D1 Pro like a glove, hugging the frame, so doesn’t really need any more room than the machine occupies, good quality feel to it, as you’d expect for the hefty price tag, but worth it, it even comes with extending panels if you need them should you get the machine extension kit, once built, it’s quite solid, the built in extractor fan helps keep the dust and smoke down but there is a knack to fitting it, took me 3 tries, turns out I had it right the first time, worth the cost if you’re getting serious use out of your machine.

This is easy to assemble and keeps any fumes created by the laser out of the room, the vent hose is long enough to either put out the window or connect to an extractor fan as I have done.

Easy to set up using Velcro. Fan works sending air through vent. I had to make a hanger and end stop in order to vent out of top window. Works very well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Venting gases from laser cutting

If you’re rocking the D1 or D1 Pro, the xTool Enclosure could be your new sidekick. It’s like a smoke superhero cape for your tools. Easy to fold, keeps smoke in check, and feels durable.
But if you value a smoke-free zone and want that added layer of safety, this enclosure has your back (and your tools’ fronts). Give it a go!

This was very easy to put together . It is a lot quieter and the hose is just the right length. I use my machine most days and before I purchased the enclosure I had noise , smoke and fumes in my house , now , it is clean air and reduced noise

    Pros;
    – really easy to put together and take apart
    – fits snugly around my xtool D1 pro
    – this definitely does reduce smoke/odour while using the laser
-openings to fit the laser engravers power cable and USB cable

    Cons
    – the fan could be stronger, it seems to work well for light engraving but the room the laser is in still has a smokey smell when making deeper cuts on wood
    – personally I could do with the hose being longer
    – too much non – recyclable packaging

    Overall an excellent purchase.

So happy with the quality and build of this enclosure. Works very well. No more smell and no more flame alarms going off.

The xtool enclosure was a great part of equipment for me using the xtool laser. I was lasering different materials, but especially wood, was causing lots of smell/fumes. But with the enclosure it is taking care of ally problems. I received the enclosure, professionally packed. Clear instructions on how to assemble and it is that light and easy to assemble. Also easily taken apart, if needing to move. Highly recommend it.

    Great enclosure

I love this enclosure, it was a perfect fit for my Laser even though I don’t have an xTool. Perfect size for sculpfun S10 and better than the sculpfun one.

I was going to make my own enclosure, but when I worked out the costs of all the bit and the time it was going to take. I decided to pay a little extra and have a ready made one and boy am I glad I did. I was up and running in minutes with no more suffocating in dust fumes and setting off my fire alarm.

The extraction is working beautifully. I did however raise the enclosure by adding a wooden frame so I could use the longer feet and then also use Rotary inside the enclosure too.

The laser light protected window is great for viewing. I added a couple of 12v LED lighting strips into the enclosure which makes it even better.

My only critique is the same as others have mentioned in that the lid sags, however I put a steel rod under the hood hinge to stop that.

This is a great enclosure, it was easy to assemble and fit perfectly around the Xtool d1 pro. It is sturdy and easy to fold away if required.

Biggest issue during first use the power supply / fan failed, so had to find alternative.

Tried to contact Supplier but had no response.

Makeblock has been back in touch with me and made good on the fault. Thank you

I love the enclosure, as it’s easy to assemble and fits snugly around the d1 pro. It’s also sturdy and easy to fold away. However, when I was doing my first engraving, the fan started and just stopped. It’s not working at all now!

EDIT: I’ve been in touch with xtool and they are sending me a replacement 🙂

Nice tight fit = small footprint, really solid/stable considering how it goes togther, work well.

    Great value

Great customer service, we had a small problem which they quickly resolved.

Very smart box, eye protection is good as well so when the box is closed you don’t have to wear glasses.

I bought this enclosure at the same time as a D1 Pro as I wanted an enclosure that could be folded down compactly when not in use. This item takes 2 minutes to assemble, and fits over the D1 “like a glove”, rather than “like a tent”! Strong velcro is used to hold the unit together when assembled and looks like it will survive many assembly/disassembly actions.

The supplied 12v fan/PSU and 80mm vent hose was not used as I had already bought and fitted a 100mm extraction system to my shed and fitting a100mm adapter to the side was quick work. Others have suggested that the fan supplied is not really adequate, but something is better than nothing.

A yellow/orange translucent plastic window in the hinged lid seems to work well in protecting my eyes from the laser and saves me having to don my safety glasses each time I start up the laser, although the interior of the box is quite dark when the laser is not in operation. I would have preferred a Perspex or acrylic window for better visibility.

The lid is quite large and allows good access to the laser bed. Two stays are attached from the lid to the sides of the enclosure using “popper” fixings. I’m not sure how long these will last being popped and un-popped over time, as they do not seem to be well fixed to the sides of the enclosure.

Apart from the stays, and the window, the unit is well made and of a decent hard-wearing, fire-resistant material.

I managed to get 30% off during a discount sale, but even then, it was quite expensive for what it is. As it ticks all the boxes for me, and putting the price to one side, it has not been a disappointment.

Note: contrary to one of the reviews suggesting there are no exit holes for power cables, there are in fact three holes on the RH side. A velcro cover is used to reveal the appropriate hole depending on what height adjustment feet are used.
