Double locking system

Shackle locks with the double locking function have a mechanism in which both shackle ends are locked in the lock body.

This mechanism makes it difficult for thieves to bend the shackle.

LED Key

In addition to a normal key, a light key is also included.

This contains a small built-in LED light that is activated with one button. For unlocking and closing at dusk and darkness, the function is ideal.

XPlus cylinder

The precision disc cylinder ABUS XPlus is a cylinder installed in the lock.

The many locks and easy to insert key are just two of the benefits. In addition, the cylinder offers very high protection against tampering attempts such as picking as well as against violent drilling.

Simultaneous locking possible

The XPlus cylinder from ABUS not only has a patent-protected mechanism, but is also good for making simultaneous locks.

Do you have a lock with XPlus cylinder? Then when buying another lock with XPlus cylinder it is usually possible to have it finished simultaneously to the existing lock. However, this works best via a dealer.

    Pro:
-Sehr schnelles an und abschlieen des Fahrrades
    -Schickes schlichtes Design
    -Fahrrad bisher nicht geklaut 🙂

    Con:
    -hat ein gewisses Gewicht
-wenn man beim abschlieen nicht aufpasst und mit den Enden des Bgels gegen den Rahmen kommt, zerkratzt diese

Had two locks picked in older model Abus U locks but the existing 540 with a more complex barrel was still intact and saved us from the theft of two decent bikes, so we immediately bought it a companion!

Heavy sturdy lock, I find the lock easy to open and close, looks well made. The bracket to attach the lock to your bicycle is not as good, it’s awkward to use, plasticy, the instructions are poor. Let’s down the otherwise good impression of the bike lock.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a hefty lock. I know a determined thief with an angle grinder would probable defeat it in a couple of minutes – but I’m hoping they would be deterered and look for something easier to break.
    Overall, I am very impressed.
The only negative is that the bike lock holder won’t fit on the broad aluminium bars of my bike.

A well designed, strong lock from Abus. It feels heavy and will likely take some time to cut through.

The keys slide in the lock easily, which is protected by a dust-cover. One of the keys has a light on it, which is useful, but is easily accidentally activated when holding the key. The keys cannot be removed while the lock is unlocked. If keys are lost, then replacements can be ordered using the provided key-code.

The SHB mount holds it relatively well in place, but it sometimes changes angle, causing my leg to hit against the lock whilst pedalling. This may be fixed by changing the position of the mount, where your bike allows (mine doesn’t), or by locking the lock directly to the bike instead.

No attempts have been made at cutting through the lock yet, but I’ll update the review if an attempt is made.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe product itself comes highly recommended among the cycling community, hence the reason why I brought it.

The D lock is covered with some type of heavy duty plastic which prevents it from scratching your pride and joy, did I mention it’s heavy, well it is Heavy and transporting on your frame is a must.

I’ve had fitted to my bike for a few weeks now and it fits snugly and doesn’t rattle around.

Unfortunately the fitting instructions which came in the box, to transport it on your bike frame, was a tad hard to follow . However I was able to find a YouTube video to assist me with this setup.

As you will see from my picture I’ve lost the use of one of my bottle holders, which is a small sacrifice to pay for security. I’ve also purchased an additional security chain so I can lock my front wheel.

For ease and security popping into shops, its a yes, would I leave my bike locked up with it overnight near a pub or train station for angle grinder man that’s a no.

Safe and secure but watch men with angle grinders
