I lightened my hair then used violet gem colourant half and half with conditioner. The photos are quite accurate for shade.
I left the tint on for 30 minutes using a plastic cover to keep the moisture in.
It’s easy to rinse and whilst not really violet, I do love the colour.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis stuff works amazingly on my hair (has already been previously dyed) which is impressive in itself as most hair dyes don’t take unless I bleach.
It was a top up over a dulled out pink so I guess that helped it but the colour was beautiful and bright so much so I got used as a beacon at a festival for random strangers to find their friends again.
Obviously bleeds alot but amazing for a semi permane

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI put this on bleached blonde and it’s covered it very nicely. I’m surprised as it normally takes a base colour then another application to be even.
Better than I’ve paid in top hairdressers! Had to do a review as I’m so pleased

This works really well to tone blonde hair and remove brassiness. I mix with conditioner and leave on for about an hour. Took out the yellow tones really well. I’ve used the orange toned one to remove green from my hair as well, which also worked really well

I buy this for my grandaughter whose favourite colour is green. She did buy a permanent one but says it did not last nearly as long as this semi permanent. She has beautiful hair so I prefer she uses this one as it has caused no damage and does not require bleaching.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI use this to colour and condition my extremely over processed hair as my usual permanent dye wouldn’t take, my hair was that damaged.
It takes seconds to work after washing with a basic, sulphate free shampoo. Sometimes I apply and wash straight off, sometimes I leave it in for hours, depending on how much time I’ve got. If your hair is very porous on the ends only, it’s worth building up the colour over a few applications. I’ve tried a few of the colours and this one is the most natural ginger/auburn
The Ginger is brighter and more coppery.

I used it with conditioner for a more pastel effect. It’s beautiful of you are trying to do mermaid colours. But if you have darker roots, make sure you layer an extra bit on . Highly recommend

Used to use crazy colour but wasn’t happy with how often I was having to “top up” my colour. Bought on a whim when I couldnt get hold of my usual crazy colour and have now swapped to using this brand as it goes much further than one bottle of crazy colour (if you do what I do) and I find the colour is much brighter and lasts longer than the other brand.
I go from platinum blonde (using Garnier Olia B+++ Super Blondes Extreme Bleach.. which is BRILLIANT by the way) to this gorgeous Adore Orange Blaze colour.
I’ll tip a full bottle of this Adore colour into a 250ml bottle of conditioner, give it a good old shake and I then have 4-5 bottles worth of hair dye to top up my colour whenever I need to.
TIP: Use on DRY hair to get a better, longer lasting colour 😉

Ordered the Emerald colour to do a face frame and absolutely adore the colour. Begins to fade after about a week or so with washing my hair every 2-3 days and goes to like a slight yellowish greenbut it’s still a nice colour. Easy to use/maintain and once recoloured, it’s so vibrant! Great value for money too given the results. Given that I want to switch colours every few months, I can’t wait to try other colours to see their results.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGave this hair dye a shot after reading how much coverage it does, typically I need 4 boxes of dye for my thick hair. I risked it and only bought 2 of these, I only needed 1 bottle! The dye it’s self felt like break oil and like it was damaging my hair but once it was all done and dry it was so vibrant and soft it was perfect! It has been many washes since and it is still in my hair while others would have washed out by now. I’m switching to this dye immediately.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI’ve used directions for 20 years. Tried and trusted so when I spotted this I wasn’t expecting miracles. I’ve tried all of them, directions, manic panic etc my roots needed doing so I thought let’s try something new.

I normally use flamingo pink and cerise directions. I did my bleach so my hair was pretty white and applied this all over, gel consistency, didn’t drop a bit. Nothing dripped, it sort of bubbled like shampoo.

Applied heat for 15 mins as directed with my hairdryer on medium. Left my hair so soft and shiny. I have very thick hair and any product makes it thicker but this left my hair almost not needing a straighten.

I’m interested in how this will fade as directions fades in the sun and I wear a hat when outside for long periods. I tend to dye my hair every week as I love the vibrancy but at a pinch 1 wash so let’s see how it fairs. They are about the same price and if it wears well just the fact it didn’t colour my entire bath, hands, towels, bed is a huge plus

5.0 out of 5 stars Great colou

Bloody love the crazy colour it’s turned out it’s absolutely a crazy colour x but loving I turn some heads but not through my body lol it’s the colour of my hair x it goes on so even it’s must have if you love bright pink

Really bright colour, I did a strand test and both the red and orange came put really well although I’d say they are both red, just pink or orange undertones.
I mixed it with some conditioner to make it more of a creamy texture as its more of a gel. It gave a really good colour.
It is reaaaaally quick to stain anything so beware when applying make sure you use barrier cream and gloves.
Product also quite leaky from hair when washing after the first wash so need to be careful when your hair is wet!

4.0 out of 5 stars Really bright, really quick staining

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have used this twice since purchasing, theres loads left and my hair is below my shoulders. If you use this then I must warn you, people will comment. I have been stopped in the street and asked about my hair from all kinds of people, the elderly and teens and even a bald guy. I applied this fantastic colour over a sort of Burgundy shade that was fading out and the results are amazing. No photos as I am the worlds most unphotogenic person alive but take my word for it, your hair will gleam and in the sun it’s simply gorgeous. If your;e in a hurry to get somewhere then wear a hat or else you’ll be delayed by people asking about it!
PS The first time using it I did apply heat through a plastic shower cap for 25/20 mins as recommended, the second time I didn’t just wrapped in 2 plastic shower caps and a turban and left on for around for around 45 minutes.

I used on already toned hair “ashy” it over toned my hair but if your going for coulour then it’s fine but I wanted a silver colour and another thing it stains the hair I did a bleach bath and my hair is still toned so be aware that if you change your hair a lot might not work for you think it’s for more orange hair if you’re hair is pale yellow or white it will have a blue and silver tones and the orange will be neutral as there is a lot of blue pigments I’ll try ot again when my hair is more brassy and I only used a small amou

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI love this product. I like the colour Ruby red. I was buying the same colour but different brand from hairdresser supplier but a lot more expensive. So I thought I would give this a try. The colour and consistency is exactly the same. Does cover everything blood red but it easily washes off. Do recommend using gloves as it does stain your hands after use. But my only problem is that after using twice now it makes my head itch really badly. And this lasts quite a while after applying. Even using medication shampoo or ginger shampoo from body shop. My head will not stop itching. So I will not buy this product again and go back to my other brand even though it is 3 times more expensive but at least my head will not constantly itch. Would like to know if anyone else has had the same problem. I do have sensitive skin so perhaps this is not the product for me. It’s a shame as I do like all the lovely colours. I would of liked to try other colours but the itchy scalp has put me off buying again.

I wasn’t sure how this would go as my hair had faded between ginger and pink. But the coverage was amazing, it brightened up more than I expected and I have quite thick long hair, 2 bottles was enough (with left over) I recommend this product but definitely make sure you wear gloves when washing your hair the first couple of times!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great coverage!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI used it over a faded red box dye and didn’t bleach it prior, so wasn’t expecting an amazing outcome, if it would take at all! But it did, it’s bright pink! Absolutely in love with it! Hair felt smooth and silky afterwards too! I didn’t wear gloves but would recommend to do so! I had bright pink hands for a day I applied it using a hairbrush at the top to get all the way through, took to all my hair! Really happy with it and will continue to use this brand! Lovely even consistency!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis did helped dyed my wig a darker brown to natural black colour , but it took a few tries to get the result , whereas dyeing my natural hair back to black it took just one attempt to successfully get the results .

Absolutely vibrant on bleached hair , really strong red and just what I was looking for . The dye is a gel/liquidy substance and I left it in my hair for an hour. Don’t know how well it stays on after washing but I bought this to mix in conditioner to make my own colour depositing conditioner . Really fast shipping too.
    African Violet Review ***
Don’t know why the 2nd review is combined with the first but this is how the violet is over bleached hair (to clarify it was dyed over with Affinage B red but stripped out after swimming) parts have turned a really deep purple, other parts navy . Nice colour but not exactly what I was going for as I had hoped for a dark purple but when the colour arrived it looked navy on the box. A little patchy too as I didn’t do a perfect job. The whiter/lighter parts have turned a more dark purple shade while the darker/orange/browner hair turned a dark blue. I washed my hair in the morning and after it was dry I left it on about 4 hours. Washed it & and applied conditioner as it felt a bit dry. Came out nice

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersBefore dying:
I had faded raspberry rebel live hair dye on the front and under layer and punk purple live hair dye on the rest of my head.

My hair is long reaching down to my breast.

To be honest I didn’t follow the instructions on the tube because dye needs to take longer than 15 minutes to process and I didn’t wash with shampoo after because all that hard work would’ve been washed away.

    During dying process:
I had mixed two squeezes of manuka honey conditioner with one layer of pink hair dye with the basin of my typical black tint mixing bowl. I remembered to damp my hair with some splashes of water to open the hair follicle up, it went on well saturating my hair fully.

For the purple I did 2:1 of conditioner to dye doing this twice for both sides of my hair. I had forgotten to damp my hair on my right side but the results were the same. It layered on well with my original purple hair.

After that I left it on with a bag tied around it for approx 30-40 mins keep in mind the pink went on first so had been sitting there for a full hour.

    Washing it:
It bled a lot in the first moment, I only used conditioner when I was fully satisfied with the clear water. I used the same conditioner as mixing and then used Argon oil to saturate my hair.

    Dried:
My hair feels lovely and nice, there is some patchiness from my original fade on the purple live hair dye but overall it has brought life back to my fading hair.

I would really recommend people try this, you can use straight from the bottle or mix with conditioner and still get bright colours.

To be put into comparison, live hair dye costs the same but only has 50 ml of dye, this has 118 ml and can be used year round after being opened.

5.0 out of 5 stars It works better than box dye
