1 – Select your fan

Use the chart below to find a suitable iCON fan for your needs

  • iCON 15 is ideal for toilets, en-suite, shower rooms and bathrooms. Stylish and unobtrusive, it can be recessed into the wall or ceiling.
  • iCON 30 is ideal for larger toilets, bathrooms and utility rooms. Quiet, powerful and designed for surface mounting or recessed into wall or ceiling.
  • iCON 60 is highly efficient in kitchens and larger rooms. The largest fan in the range, suitable for recessed or surface mounting into the wall or ceiling.
  • iCON 15 and 30 are also available in Safety Extra Low Voltage versions (SELV). These low energy fans are ideal for extra protection in wet zones.

2 – Select your control module

The unique iCON module concept gives you the option to determine how you wish to control your fan.

  • The same module is compatible with all three iCONs – 15, 30 and 60.
  • There are specific 240V modules and different low voltage (SELV) modules. Replacing a module is a lot simpler and cheaper than replacing the entire fan.

3 – Select your coloured cover

To complement the décor of your home, we also offer the flexibility to upgrade the standard white cover.

  • A choice of Navy Blue, Ultimate Grey, Turquoise, Anthracite, Sandstone, Silver or Chrome (iCON 15 only). This is perfect if you are looking for a fan that blends seamlessly into the surroundings, adding colour and co-ordination to any toilet, en-suite, bathroom, utility room or kitchen at a surprisingly low cost.
  • The covers are easy to fit with a simple twist and click. Clean the cover by gently wiping over with a damp cloth.

4 – Enjoy healthier indoor air quality

Removing excess moisture and pollutants swiftly from your property by ensuring your wet rooms (kitchens, bathrooms and toilets etc.) are properly ventilated, means that excess moisture isn’t given the opportunity to develop into mould and damp which can negatively impact both the health of the fabric of the building and the health of you and your family.

iCON FAQ’s

Who can install my iCON fan?

All electrical installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with Approved Document Part P of the U.K. Building Regulations and to the latest IET standards, or the appropriate regulations in the country of installation. All fans must be installed in line with the manufacturer’s installation instructions provided to ensure the fan has been installed correctly, allowing for performance of the fan.

How do I clean my iCON fan?

SAFETY FIRST: ALWAYS ISOLATE THE FAN UNIT FROM THE POWER SUPPLY BEFORE DOING ANY WORK ON THE FAN/MODULE.

The fan and ducting should be inspected and cleaned on a regular basis to keep fan performance at an optimum level. The external housing of the fan can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Do not use household cleaners containing abrasives. Cleaning of internal parts such as the impeller should be carried out by using a soft brush. Never clean any parts of the fan assembly by immersing in water or using a dishwasher.

Which type of ducting is suitable to use with the iCON?

Both Rigid and Flexible ducting can be used with the iCON fans. When installing ducting, it must not be damaged or blocked. Where flexible ducting is used it must be pulled taught to avoid system pressure build up and noise.

How does the iCON iris/shutter open and close?

The iris/shutter opens by activation of a wax brown actuator mechanism. Upon switching the fan on, the actuator is heated and pushes onto a white plastic clip, which in turn opens the fan iris/shutter.

After installing the fan, ensure to power off and allow the actuator to fully retract for approx. 2 minutes, before attempting to fit the cover, this will permit the iris/shutter to function correctly.

Works really well, Stopped the back flow of air from outside from my other extractor fan, this is amazing.
When you turn it on it takes 10-15 seconds to open but the fan is working straight away.
When you turn it off it also take the same time to slowly close.

The only issue is the fan is a little noisy, but works grea

My flat came with three of these and one broke down, I had to replace with this new one. Make sure the hole of your fan allows you to fit the right model. I bought the model up and it wouldn’t fit and didn’t want to risk it.

    Best fan eve

The icon15 is quieter than the bog-standard xpelair fan which it replaced. I got the icon15 to stop drafts and it works in this respect. Note there is a long lag between the fan starting and the iris diaphragm opening (likewise when it closes). Also the case design really makes it difficult for the humidity sensing to work, being only a narrow vent for the air to reach the sensor. It seems to work in most cases eventually.
    Overall the upgrade is satisfactory

I love that it closes. Its really helped the problem of traffic noise coming in vent and cold. Better than expected and it works well and looks smart. But it is quite noisy when in use. Not rattly just a loud motor. On the other hand, so are most extractors, but it said quiet to run, not so! Overall still worth it for me for the benefit off shutting out the outside draft and noise, just be aware.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersPurchased 2 of these extractor fans for the bathroom and ensuite what is brilliant is that the fan cover closes when the fan turns off stopping unwanted airflow and noise especially in the dead of night when it is windy outside I would recommend people to watch the video on you tube I am very happy with them.

This replaced the same model which worked for 13 years. Also bought the plug in timer.
When this one packs up I’ll probably replace it with the same again.

This was a replacement and so pleased it was still available. It opens and closes automatically when you switch it on/off. It hums but nothing wrong with that. It looks very smart on the wall.

Bought these to replace existing fans that had no anti backdraft built in, they relied on plastic flaps in the vent which never really worked well. This meant our bathrooms could get cold when the wind was in a certain direction. These have solved that problem completely. Nice warm bathrooms whatever the weather.

Update, the iris now doesn’t close fully. It seems this is a very very common problem. They look great and the idea is great but sadly the real thing doesn’t deliver.

My old fans had flaps on the back to stop cold air coming in when fans were off. They were not any good as I found the springs were useless at keeping the flaps shut. Then I got 2 of the icon 15 with its brilliant iris shuter door at the front. What an improvement, no more drafts or noise and improved my loss off heat. These fan units are used in more expensive houses which made me choose this type of fan as a replacement. I’m glade I got it. Brillia

It is expensive but it solves the problem of a wind passing through the fan duct when off. Now I have my warm toilet back and fan that is quieter than my old one. I hope it will last years.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersSleek and stylish, I’ve fitted 4 of these now to replace other types and I love them, and as long as you ensure the hole diameter in the wall or ceiling is the same as the fans’, they are reasonably easy to fit if you take things carefully. The iris fins are however quite delicate, and you need to keep the cover free from all dust and grit that might be present around the hole in the wall or ceiling whilst installing. I fitted a ceiling one and the hole edges in the plasterboard were very crumbly, I found the iris wouldn’t close evenly, or completely, because tiny bits of plaster grit were jamming between the fins and the cover, the springs of the mechanism are quite weak in that regard. I had let dirt get into the iris mechanism and then had to completely strip the cover parts down and wash and clean it all before it would work smoothly. The final grub screw that stops the cover moving I didn’t bother fitting, apart from being very fiddly, it makes it easier if you ever want to adjust the timer unit later on, to not have to deal with the tiny grub screw. It really isn’t needed, the cover stays on tightly in place without it. The cover itself was a bit of a struggle to put on, but again only because I hadn’t kept the threads around the unit clean enough and had got a little bit of filler on them. There is only a slight clockwise turn needed to attach the cover, but it does need very careful alignment, I practised first before fitting any of it, and used a marker pen to make a few little guide marks for later.

This fan is fantastic it’s beats any other fan that I have installed in my bathroom, it’s so versatile you can have most set up’s that you require. I went for the humidifier set up and it’s great, I have had other make and they don’t work like this make.

I have seen these fans in use previously. They have to be fixed flat and not over tightened. My fan would not start on its own without flicking the blades around. I had to slacken the motor retaining screws slightly and then it was fine. So, that does ask some quality control questions. The iris shutter is a brilliant idea and works well. I love the design and concept of the fan and I hope it stands the test of time. We will see…

Bought this with the optional timer module to replace an old noisy unit. I found it easy to fit and possibly slightly quieter in operation as most other similarly priced fans. Love the slow opening and closing iris type shutter. I’ve only had it a couple of weeks so can’t comment on reliability or life expectancy.

first one had to be returned not closing after a few weeks, replaced with no problems except having the bother of taking the faulty unit to a shop for the return . The replacement came and again worked fine for a few weeks and the same thing happened contacted the manufaturer and was advised to spray the iris with furniture polish all OK at the mome

Bought this to replace our previous Icon 15 in our utility room as the actuator failed after 11 years. This prevented the iris from opening.

The new model is a direct replacement and uses the same fittings in the ceiling. It just needs wiring your mains cable into the connector block and away you go. The only difficulty was removing the cover of the original unit, as after a decade in position it needed quite an effort to twist off.

[Interestingly, on the new model the actuator wires are plugged in, rather than soldered on. This will make it far easier to replace should it fail]

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this fan and the humidity module for a small shower room with an existing 100mm hole where the previous fan was installed in October 2019. I chose it because of the size, capacity and the shutter which meant no annoying flappy external shutter. Also I could use my own external heritage terminal. Instalation was easy but care needs to be taken to keep it flat so that the shutter operates correctly. I had some real issues setting up the humidity stat and was just about to contact the company when I read about resetting it and then that it needs time to settle when adjusted. So instead of tweaking it often to try and get it to operate as I wanted I adjusted the humidity and then left it for a few days to settle. Hey presto it worked and now operating correctly every time. Comes on within minutes of starting the shower. Not the quietest but more than acceptable. Would recommend it and would buy it agai

I wanted an extractor fan with a automatic shutter, as in strong wind air from the outside was blowing into my ensuite and making things rather cold. This fixed that problem entirely, was easy to install, and looks very cool.

    A great purchase.

Definitely cuts down on any drafts from the external air vent. Easy to install, shutter has a time delay that works well. Purchased the delay pcb to have user defined delay on switch off.

Do away with the draught coming in get the steam going out. Exellent fan, auto opening shutter and auto closing easy to fit and wired into light switch. I now have a steam free bathroom even after 3 showers. (3 family members)

I can’t really say how easy it was to install as the builder did it but it’s the one he recommended and he said it was easy. It looks lovely, it’s quiet and it closes up when it’s off so there’s no problem with draughts coming in through the vents.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI chose this fan for my ensuite bathroom as it opens and closes automatically. I like a shut vent to stop the wind from whistling through it. It also looks neat. Believe me you will stand and wait for it to do its magic opening sequence as it is a delight to watch the 3 doors magically move. They do not open instantly hence i say stand and wait. its probably only a few seconds but it feels like for ever to see it. Does it work as an extractor? Yes and its not too noisy. I bought a different colour front for one of mine and it looks awesome.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis fan looks amazing, I love the style of the shutters closing. Reminds me of the aliens eye in the 1950’s film War of the Worlds
I have the timer function connected to the bathroom light and it works really well. This is my second one, the motor failed on the first one after 10 years. I have a small bathroom, if it was bigger I would buy the same style but a more powerful one.

These work and they work well but in high winds the closed interior iris cover does rattle, to the point where it becomes annoying. We have two of these and they both do it. However, we live in a high wind area and without the interior iris cover we would have a very cold, draughty bathroom. So they work but not perfectly

Fantastic product, we have just installed this product at the weekend, we had problems with drafts in our en-suite bathroom and back draft shutters were too noisy at night when they flap about, this product works really well and is really quiet, to the point my wife thought the fan was not working.
This was a great find, its was really easy to install, I additionally purchased a over run module that just slots in place easily.

I would say that it is not that powerful but seems to cope with the over run timer.
