It is a good set but I have broken the ratchet mechanism on the 19 mm spanner it might have been from over tourqing, but still I would have expected the 19mm spanner to last a bit longer than a few weeks but the other spanner have kept up well not used as much but they are doing well .

Bought these to completment my AF set and use in restoring cars in my spare time. I got a discounted price so they were very reasonable and have a decent look next to my Advance sets. I will use the roll case for an old set of spanners I carry in my just in case toolset for car events, a little bonus etc. Thanks amazon, great product.

My son requested these to add to the house tool box. Wasn’t expecting much for the money and the fact it’s a basic range but was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the wrench’s. Would definitely recommend for the tool box

I’m well happy with these ratchet spanners, they’re excellent quality, neatly organised and you get a nice range of common sizes. They come delivered in a small cardboard box and I had the 7-piece set which come in their own fabric tool roll.

The ratchet spanners are made from chrome vanadium, are well made with no marks or blemishes to be found and they have a smooth mirror like finish to them. The size is marked twice on each side of the spanner and they have a small arrow to indicate the direction for turning. I found the ideal use for them the other day when I put together a new shed, they came in very handy for tightening the nuts and it was nice to not having to keep on lifting them off due to the ratchet mechanism. There was no slip and the gears felt sturdy with smooth operation when going in the opposite direction.

The fabric carry roll is excellent quality, durable, very well designed with sizes marked on each pouch to quickly find the correct spanner, and I love the double velcro straps that keep it rolled together securely. The top folds over when you roll it up to prevent the spanners from falling out and it’s the perfect size to fit in my toolbox when its rolled up which I much prefer compared to having them loose. You can also mount it on the wall using the holes in each top corner.

Overall, I think this is an excellent set of ratchet spanners/wrenches and they represent good value for money due to their quality and handy carry roll. They make a great and useful addition to any toolbox and you get a good range of the most commonly used sizes. I’m happy to recommend this product and I highly recommend them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent set, well-made, great tool holder!

This is a good quality Amazon Basics wrench / spanners set. There are 12 in all, which means you have 24 sizes, ranging from 6mm up to 32mm. The range is excellent so allows you to undertake any number of jobs in the domestic sphere. The Velcro handy case is quite convenient, so you can add to you toolbox without it taking up much space.

The range and sturdiness of the tools mean they are quite good for round the house jobs, but not being an engineer I’m not quite clear how they measure up against more established brands, but they have been effective enough for the jobs I’ve been using them for. I’m assuming they should last a long time for the your standard domestic use. Overall a good set for a reasonable price.

    4/5

This spanner set comes in a handy cloth pouch, with printed sizes on each pocket. The spanners themselves feel solid, though I do not believe they would stand up to extremely heavy usage (you’ll probably want something more professional for high intensity work). The sizes are stamped into each spanner as well, so you’ll know which ones are which even if not kept neatly in the labelled pouch. The available sizes are (in millimetres) 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20 and 22. This should serve you fine for most household uses, providing whatever you’re doing fits these sizes.

A cheap and cheerful torque wrench set, it’s not going to suit you if you’re a tradesman but for working around the house it’ll do fine.
The spanner body aspect is fine, made well and comes in a surprisingly useful roll up carry case. Head sizes are clearly marked and the steel is plenty strong for normal use. You get a plastic toothed torque gear at one end which again will do odd jobs fine. In daily use it’ll likely fail or wear quickly,

More than happy to be in my domestic toolkit, with all the quarantine that’s going on they’re already getting use with the DIY jobs I have been meaning to get around to.

The 12 Spanners are contained in a rollout pouch with individual slots for each spanner. There’s a couple of velcro fasteners to keep it rolled up & a carry handle for ease.

The tools feel of good quality, with a nice weight to them. They aren’t moulded perfectly, but it shouldn’t affect their use. Only time will tell if they wear away quicker than other brands, but considering I rarely need tools I think these will be more than adequate.

4.0 out of 5 stars Basic, but perfectly adequate

These are a great selection of nicely presented ratchet spanners, 10mm-19mm will cover most things the DIY mechanic will encounter. The roll bag they come in also means they’re easy to select the size you want and neat to store away at the end of the job.

I was using these on a rather tired, rusted old land rover which wasn’t giving up its fixings easily and at no point did I feel these were going to cause me problems. They’re reasonably comfortable in the hand even when applying large amounts of pressure, they don’t have any worrying amount of flex to them that you might find in some cheap spanners causing them to slip when using the open end.

These are well made, well presented, easy to store and a great addition to the home mechanics tool set.

Once you’ve used a gear ratchet wrench you will never use a standard spanner again (when a ratchet wrench fits).

They just make jobs sooooo much quicker.

This sets adds the benefit of a 180degree swivvel on the ratchet head which means that the wrench can be used in even more awkward positions. Obviously you’ll never use it to the full 90degrees in either direction as you’d then be twisteing the handle, but you get a good useable 0-60degrees easily and effectively.

My only complaint is that the 180degree swivvel is a bit stiff and sticky. This actually helps get the head on the nut in some circumstances but in others makes it a bit awkward. It makes the quality of the wrench feel a bit ‘off’ as they don’t feel super smooth in use.

This is a minor complaint, though, and this is a useful set of wrenches that otherwise feel solid and well made.

I am reviewing the 18 piece wrench set, currently priced at 34.

The spanners seem decent quality – this seems a perfect item for the Amazon basics range, as a steel spanner is much like any other – as long as they are strong enough, they will last forever. They fit well, as expected, and there is a wide range of sizes that mean this is a good set to buy.

However, I am a bit surprised by the price. I’d expect these to be quite a bit cheaper – especially given the branding.

This is a review for a 5 piece High Torque Wrench set from Amazon Basics range but are far more quality than basic would suggest. Open ended and ratchet ended and do not have any slippage and grip well on the nuts, our son has used these spanners already to help repair the diesel engine on his boat and that is their new home now lol. They came in a card board box and all fit in a plastic clip to keep them together, not bad value for money and worth a 4 Star review.

This arrived at a good time for me as I needed to get an at awkward bolt holding the battery in place on my VW van, and an open ended spanner kept slipping off. The socket head on the piece I was using locked on and did the job quickly. Basically, there are 18 ‘wrenches’- according to the description- but I normally refer to these tools as a spanner/ socket set. They come in a sturdy roll up tool bag with each tool in its own pouch. The quality seems fine and like all Amazon Basic products, offers excellent value for money.

I love the idea of these spanners. the ratcheting end is really good and I like that you can flip it to use the handle as a leaver. These have a really good grip to them and they have good, tight hold of whatever you trying to unscrew, screw.

They come in a handy roll bag as well so its easy to keep them all together and you dont rise loosing any of them. The spanners are decent enough that they dont become misshapen with use which can happen sometimes with cheaper set’s.

This is an Amazon Basics product and comes in a fabric roll up bag with 7 ratcheting wrenches (try saying that quickly!). There’s a standard spanner head on one side and a ratchet wrench on the other. The head also flexes a small margin and the handle is comfortable to hold.

Helped me build my son’s scooter in no time with the ratchet mechanism. Obviously they have a higher purpose than just a scooter but they seem well made so I’d imagine they’d be at home in any mechanic’s garage.

This is a pretty good combination 8 piece wrench set from the Amazon Basics range. The 8 piece set comprises of the following sizes:8,10,11,12,13,14,15 and 17mm.The combination wrenchbs are pretty solid looking and are made of chrome Canadian and are comfortable enough to use.I do have a gripe regarding the roll up material carry case that is secured with velcro straps.-it is not especially secure.I have had wrenches fall out of the carry case on more than one occasion,so I am deducting a star for this.

I am an amazon vine reviewer. I am reviewing the “amazonbasics” 7-piece (7PC) metric wrench set. A more familiar word for “wrench” in the UK is “spanner”

The 7 wrenches arrived securely packed in a cardboard box. The wrenches themselves are
stored in a smart yellow and black robust material Velcro tool roll with a slot for each wrench. The tool roll includes a part which folds in to prevent the wrenches slipping out when enclosed in the roll.

The metric sizes of the seven wrenches are: 8;9;10;11;13;17 and 19mm

    I have worked out that the nearest imperial (inch) sizes to these are: 5/16; 11/32;
    3/8; 7/16; 1/ 2; 21/32; 3/ 4;

At one end of all 7 wrenches is an open-ended part. At the other is a ring with a built-in ratchet. I have never used a wrench with a built-in ratchet. A small arrow stamped on the wrench sides shows you the “working” direction of the wrench ring.

If you place the spanner on a nut to tighten it and the spanner freely rotates, then just turn the spanner over and it will tighten the nut. The same procedure is followed when you want to undo a nut.

I tested the ratchet end of the 8 mm wrench to tighten several nuts and bolts on a metal garden bench. I also tried to loosen a couple of nuts to try out the opposite rotation.
The ratchet end fits securely onto the nut without any slippage. I also tried the open-ended part of the 8 mm spanner too which gave a good fit.

The overall length of the spanners is good, varying from 13 mm for the smallest wrench to 24 mm for the largest. The wrench length is important as it provides a comfortable leverage for the user when tightening or loosening nuts.

The wrenches are made from a chrome vanadium alloy and look and feel quality items.

The wrenches score highly because of the built-in wrench. You don’t need to have another adaptor piece to provide the wrench action. This built in feature allowed me to get into tighter spaces to tighten up the nuts on my bench. This also saves grazed fingers and eliminates an adaptor part from falling off.

Based on my usage of the amazonbasics 7-piece wrench set, I conclude that they are a well thought out practical design. I do DIY on a regular basis; the 7 wrench sizes will provide a good choice to tackle a wide array of jobs. Based on my experiences so far, I think that the amazonbasics 7 PC Ratcheting Wrench Set is fully deserving of a 5-star rating.

This is a very smart spanner set that come well presented in a sturdy black pouch with cool yellow edging detail. Much more practical than a plastic holder IMO. There are 18 spanners from 6mm to 24mm, with 23 mm the only omission. The total weight when wrapped is just over 2.1kg. The spanners themselves have a good weight to them and a matte finish. They are all marked amazon basics, ditto the case which some may not like. They do feel weighty and well manufactured though and should be all that most DIY/home mechanics should need but forty pounds (currently) does seem high.

There are a number of different items on this Amazon product page and mine is the eight piece Combination Wrench Set. The sets listed here are from Amazon’s own AmazonBasics brand and are neither the cheapest nor most expensive products of their type, but are good quality for the price. These spanners are made from chromium vanadium steel and seem to be of as good a quality as a number of similar ones by better-known brands I’ve used over the years, and if the sizes included here suit you then this set could be a good choice. Included in this particular eight piece set are 8 mm, 10 mm, 11 mm, 12 mm, 13 mm, 14 mm, 15 mm & 17 mm double-ended wrenches with one end open and the other with a 12-point box – the 15 offset helps in tight spaces. This set comes in a wrap-around fabric storage holder to keep them safe and all together so you can find the one you need easily without having to hunt around at the bottom your tool-box! This AmazonBasics product seems made to last and offers decent value at the current price of around twenty-three pounds — a good mid-range set of wrenches that gets four stars for what it offers at the price.

An essential part of every good toolset, a range of spanners are critical to a wide range of tasks. These, from the ever expanding range of Amazon Basics tools provide five different sizes to complete a variety of tasks.

The spanners come in a holder, which is a little difficult to remove the individual spanners from however when you do you’re left with a reasonable quality spanner. The five different sizes provided are well spaced so they can be used for a range of tasks. The ratcheting end rotates through 180 degrees to be able to get to more tricky nuts, while the handle of the spanner is quite thin, so would be good to fit into small spaces though perhaps not long enough for some tasks.

Overall though, for where these are pitched, they are a good example of a pretty decent tool. If you’re looking for some spanners for occasional use on a range of tasks these are a pretty good example and come recommended from me.
