Totally amazed by the quality of this tool, easy to adjust and sharpen the blade. Worth another 10.00.
Very easy to use just not sturdy enough and only used it twice and it broke
Blade holder mechanism snapped at welds
Wanted to replace the vinyl in the kitchen and bought vinyl tiles for it.
The floor boards that I had underneath were not plane, had a bit of a rising where they lined up and also where the water seeped through underneath the old vinyl.
The planner did a great job at leveling the floor boards and it didn’t take as much as I expected to get the job done.
Sharp blade, adjustable, just needs a bit of muscles to show its magic depending on the hardness of the wood you’re working with.
I found it easy to work with and discovered that I can use my own weight to get faster results without working harder than necessary.
I bought this to plane down the bottom of a door that was sticking. I have never used a plane before and I think it would have been useful to have had a diagram or instruction sheet included for the first-timer like me. However I read another reply to a similar question on Amazon about how to set the blade up and I was fine. My door now shuts, job done! I think it’s good for the money and certainly cheaper than getting a carpenter in for a small job! Angela
It’s not the best quality but then it wasn’t expensive but it did the job of shaving the bottom of a door just fine
Pretty good plane for small jobs. I needed to plane an outside door when it was sticking in the winter. The plane was easy to use and got the job done without removing the door. I was happy with my purchase.
I bought this as I needed to trim the bottom of a couple of doors. I am not doing carpentry jobs every day so for the purposes of doing the odd maintenance and adjustments it is ideal. If you are into heavy carpentry then maybe look at something more expensive but for the price – this is ideal.
This is a great cheap plane, I got it (for the same reasons as another reviewer) to take some wood off a sticking door-it is both the right weight and quality to do this sort of job. I note some slightly negative reviews due to the weight and quality of the product. I don’t think this is far, if you want a high quality plane for daily use then you need to pay much more that for this one. If like me you may need a plane for an odd job then this one is excellent-and great value.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this little plane. I needed to shave a smidgeon off the porch door to stop it jamming in the winter and this did the job brilliantly. Once I’d learned (by trial and error) how to adjust the blade (which was very sharp) the job was done in no time. I didn’t even have to sand down the area I’d trimmed. It might be cheap, but it’s extremely good value and I’d quite happily recommend it for what I wanted it for.
