First time using a battery strimmer and picked Bamse at random. Easy to assemble. Manual has links to video instructions if needed, but not really required for this. Cuts with a cord system which I’ve not seen before but does the job. Makes short work of cutting lawn edges, more powerful than I was expecting from a battery. Front and back lawn edges done in 10 minutes using half the battery. Substantial metal blades included for heavier work, and plenty of spare cord. Good value overall.

Excellent strimmer, lightweight and robust. The blades were missing from my order but the company were very apologetic and replacement blades were sent by return post. So far so good. I would recommend to anyone contemplating buying a strimmer to look at this one.

I bought this to control several patches of brambles in our large garden. I wasn’t sure it would be up to the job, but I needn’t have worried, green brambles up to 1cm thick were no problem. Previously I have used petrol strimmers, but they always seem to develop starting problems. This is much better, quiet, light and TWO batteries.

Very happy with my purchase, the trimmer is great and powerful enough for overgrown gardens and stubborn thick weeds. Battery lasts around half hour however it comes with two batteries, handy !!. Christina from customer service is extremely polite and helpful . You can request your warranty extension by email, and it will be actioned promptly; details of warranty can be found in the manual that comes with the trimmer, I also purchased a chainsaw from bamse and this garden tool is great as well! …also it comes with the same battery so it comes handy as you can use same batteries on both bamse trimmer and chainsaw. Very Happy custome

This is a brilliant tool, so easy to work with now Ihave worked out how to keep the cutting wires in place, and not have to go into my next doors garden to retrieve them, not very explicit in the manual, but that was no problem if you saw my neighbour she is some girl I tell you, so many thanks to the team we have scored again very pleased wth the product, and the delivery

The product arrived quickly , looks nice quality and very light . I started with the diamond blade and it easily cleared a large area of brambles, I then tried the metal plate but had a problem attaching the cords , contacted customer services who asked for photos , sent these off and had a replacement baseplate delivered the next day . Very impressed with the service

Ok so I’m sceptical about battery powered tools, and don’t often review stuff, but this deserves to be considered (only a couple of weeks in to bear in mind). Adjustable and extendable.. very good, I’m tall and struggle sometimes with mowers etc, but this thing suits any size person, easy to use and balanced well, light, again, very good. Kit comes with 2 x metal blades, 2 x plastic chord reals and a packet of plastic chord that says it’s strong like steel. Very good kit, easy to change over, load string, but it’s defo not like steel, (the plastic chord) we have just moved to an over grown garden, and purchased this to use for that, but sadly, the batteries don’t run for more than approx 15 minutes, so you get approx 30/ 35 minutes usage on an overgrown job, to make it worse they take an age to recharge, so no using one whilst the other charges. Saying all that, if you just want it to do a bit of light grass trimming in a well maintained garden with the occasional bit more then I’d say crack on and buy one, really good value for money and user friendly

Waited until I had used the strimmer a few times before writing the review. Seems solidly built and does the job well on grass edges using the cords the metal blades work very well for heavy duty shrubbery.
Cords showing very little wear even through I am cutting edges against concrete gravel boards and brick walls. A great improvement over the plastic blades on my previous strimmer that needed replacing constantly.
Battery life is good compared to my old black and decker strimmer, and this one is more powerful.
Assembly was easy, but I had not noticed the Allen key in the handle so took longer finding the right size than it did to assemble it.

This looks a bit lightweight, and feels it. How long will it last? We’ll see but it works impressively and having two batteries is important as one charge only lasts about 15-20 min max. The adjustable head was for me a major feature. So far as good. The advert implies it’s stronger, more powerful than it is.

I used for the first time on returning from holiday and the grass was really long and thick! The strimmer performed well although the battery lasted only 20 minutes. Not a problem as a spare is supplied and I expect at least another 10 minutes of use under “normal” conditions. It arrived without the hexagonal screwdriver that should be clipped under the handle but support wears excellent with Christina providing one immediately.

Business end of Trimmer can be turned through up to 90 degrees . 2 blades supplied for tough work and 2 reels of cord for the routine stuff. Whichever you use quick and easy to swap between the two. Great strimmer. Very lightweight, even with the metal blade attachment. Great for getting rid of long, thick frass and weeds. Absolutely smashed the nettles in my garden 🙂
Battery lasts about 20 mins from full charge, but I noticed that, while the strimmer shows low battery (1 red dot) and stops working, the battery itself still has 2 bars left when the button is pressed. This happens on both batteries so not sure if it’s a bad unit or if it does this by desig

The strimmer was well packed for transit and delivered quickly .

It was easy to assemble ( and I recommend using the photo guide above as the manual is not as helpful ) and is easy to use . The batteries came partially charged which was helpful as it meant the strimmer could be used straight away . Both heads ( metal and cord ) are very effective.

The only addition I would like to see is a carrying strap for use when strimming .

I was surprised how good this strimmer was with the different blades. Used the metal one and attacked some bushes, it is advisable to wear goggles or some form of eye protection as it brutally made light work of the said bush and then changed to the normal blades for trimming round the edges. Two batteries supplied and this was the first cordless strimmer that I have used and it makes a major difference as I scaled a fence and strimmed a bush and ivy on the other side
Well impressed and very happy with my purchase

Impressed with the material, good quality.

The blades are really very good and easy to fit as no instructions required.
Highly impressed with it’s work in a short period of time.
Extendable which is good to accommodate In a short storage box.
Delivered before the delivery expected date.

I will definitely recommend for a buy.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThere was very little to do when it was delivered and it was very easy to follow the setup instructions.
Both batteries came charged, so the trimmer could be used almost straight out of the box.

There is a very good range of easy adjustments for length, the angle of the strimming head and of the support handle.

It is very easy to swap between the nylon cords and the metal cutting discs – though I suspect I will be using the nylon cords mainly. There is a good stock of replacement nylon cords. I havent had to replace any yet so it looks as though this stock will last quite a long time.

I haven’t made much use of the metal blades but they worked well on some tall weeds and grass.

It feels well balanced when in use and well made so I’m expecting it to last for some time.
The safety button to stop it being switched on accidently is a very good feature.

One small criticism ( not big enough to reduce the star rating) is that it would have been nice to have a box to store the spare battery, charger and tool.

    Overall a very good trimmer.

I think this is an absolute great product.
Comes with extra cable and also 2 blades! Very easy to assemble with its own tool, so no need to buy anything else to change the heads.

Has 2 batteries which has the battery level indicator. Charge one whilst using the other. Cuts the grass quiet low as you can see. Definitely would recommend to buy. Very easy to handle which adjustable angles for comfort and safety which makes it easier to trim hedges as well.

The instructions book had a QR which takes you to a video assembly for easy to follow assembly.

This is an excellent product. The things which make me say this are as follows:
    1) Quality of build and products
    2) The price
    3) The clear instructions supported by photographs. often instructions provided Chinese products doesn’t make sense
    4) The ease of switching from strimmer to blade mode
    5) The weather has stopped me using the strimmer yet. However, I have bought and used a chain saw by the same company. This has proved to be of high quality.
    6) BAMSE do not hide from their after purchase responsibility. A 2 year extended warranty is offered and it is very clear how to get it.
    7) There is an extensive range of attachments

I would recommend this product to you.

This strimmer ticks all the boxes for me, needing a strimmer to use at the allotment plot that was battery powered and lightweight, because my hands are getting on a bit now and cannot hold anything too heavy for long periods. No electricity at the allotment so this was ideal.
Comes with a spool of twine and unlike strimmers I used some 20 years ago, this one was so easy to fit the twine.
Had to build the tool myself, which I did find a bit tricky, but an email to their team and they sent me a video and this helped a lot.
Made short work of the brambles on the plot. All in all a very useful tool too add the potting shed.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI have to say that I was surprised by how well made this trimmer is. I have had a few other products from Bamse and they’ve all been good but the trimmer really exceeded my expectations!

The trimmer is powerful, versitile and full of features.
It has a really good length extension option, I’d say upto 4.5ft but it is actually really solid/sturdy too and doesn’t get shaky when you extend it all the way out like many other extendable power tools do!
You can set the length freely to whatever you need with no set/spaced notches to meet. The simple screw-lock works absolutely fine and is convenient and comfortable and will stay tight and solid.

The batteries last an awful lot longer than I thought they would. My only prior experience was always with a wired strimmer so I’m not quite sure how many amps they pull, but I could reasonably guess that one battery would last you probably around 2-3 hours of constant work, and it comes with two! Which is one of the reasons I would even recommend this to a professional gardener who would need it for an entire days work.
The batteries include a really excellent feature (see photos) where you can press a button to check its power state. I found that really useful indeed, and haven’t even seen that feature on big brand batteries although I imagine it won’t be long before its a standard. There is also a power status indicator on the trimmer itself.

The power of the trimmer is also surprising considering its so light and so too are the batteries. I spent a solid hour giving my 18x12ft sized lawn its first full and relatively short cut of the year just to test it out properly. It only used about 1/3 of one battery in that time, but the spider-like 8x cord feature really helps get the job done a lot faster than my old double cord trimmer would have, which I wouldn’t have even attempted cutting the entire lawn with.
I did not need to replace the cord even once. But I did swap over to the steel blades to give them a test.

The blades cut through light stuff like grass/weeds a bit slower than the cord does (but that is because its 8x cord vs 2x blade). I didn’t find a particular use for the blades myself, but I can imagine them being very handy for hedges where a cord might take more of a battering. Although the cord you get with the Bamse is extremely tough and versitile. (also photographed)
I used only 1 blade but you could easily and safely attach 2 or 3 blades at once and spread them out if you wanted to do so. Just be sure to tighten it enough.
I had a light test on trimming rose bushes upto 8mm thickness with the blades without any trouble. They seem to be made from good steel too, as I couldn’t even find any signs of use afterwards other than grass/dirt stains!

Another great feature is the ability to adjust the angle of both the trimmers head and also the handle. (see my first photo) Together with the pole extension lets you set it up perfectly for your posture without giving yourself a bad back! The difference in height and the angle of the head / handle meant I didn’t have that constant slight kink in my back while strimming. Which I noticed afterwards let me tell you! Just like with office chairs, you need to adjust them to suit your body.

Charge time is the only thing I can’t comment over because I didn’t have to charge those batteries, and I imagine I’ll probably get through most or all of the summer without needing to!

I am actually excited to use it again. I am very happy with it.

This strimmer is excellent overall, with some great features.

First off, it’s light and easy to wield, even when fully extended.

It comes with two batteries that are interchangeable with other Bamse products, which is a nice bonus, and the batteries have charge-level indicators too.

The unit is equipped with a two-step safety trigger, and once engaged, spins up very quickly. The torque felt slightly on the lower side, which means that the blade doesn’t dig into the grass should you get too close, instead the motor stops momentarily before starting again. This should help prevent chipped blades and damage to the lawn/kids toys etc…

The product comes with two fixed blades, which handle medium thickness clumps with ease (see video), as well as the usual coil fitting.

The telescopic arm is fantastic, meaning you can adjust it to your height/stance/surroundings, and it also packs away nearly with folding handle and front guide wire.

All in all, a good strimmer, now I have no excuse for leaving the borders too long!

Really pleased with this grass trimmer. It’s light and not too loud. It has an adjustable length – telescopic style extender. It also comes with a spare battery and a spare blade. It did a great job on our grass. It was very easy to clean as well. Just a paint brush and it was good to go in less than a minute. I used the diamond blade as there were some thicker stems and the orange cords wouldn’t have worked for me and haven’t tried them really, but I assume they are only good if you have a thin and even grass to cut. I can highly recommend this trimmer. Just brillia

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI received the grass trimmer in a cardboard package with all parts needed to.have it assembled and ready to work.
Installing the cutting blade or the cutting wires is easy, following the included instructions helps.
The two li-ion batteries 21v 2Ah can offer about an hour and a half of energy which is probably more than enough for anyone’s back garden trimming sessions.
I find it pretty straight forward to have it put together and use, there is an adjustable handle to hold it in place under the appropriate angle while cutting, the length can be adjusted too and also lower section where the cutting blade or wire is fitted can be adjusted too to an appropriate angle.
I would say it proved to be an easy to work with tool for an occasional user/garden trimmer.
I think a good addition would be to be able to gradually adjust rotation’s speed of the cutting end, once you push the button is on full speed straight away.

All in all a good tool to have around in the shed for the moment when you’re into gardening mode

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’m quickly becoming a fan of Bamse products as I have bought a couple of their items over the last few years and all are still working well. I bought this trimmer as I have a plot of overgrown land next to my house that the council never maintain. I therefore needed something a bit more substantial than your standard garden trimmer and it needed to be cordless so I could use away from the house. This trimmer is perfect it came with two powerful batteries that were fully charged on arrival so while using one you charge the other and get great results. The trimmer is pretty light but effective so easy for anyone to use. It come with a disc that takes the nylon line, and you get loads of spare nylon line, for the light garden grass trimming but it also comes with two metal blades for heavier duty stuff. The blade and disc attachments are very easy to change using the tool provided and the instructions booklet is very clear with photos in each step.

This is a brilliant product for the home gardener that want to tackle the occasional problem patch.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI’ve used a very old corded grass trimmer for many years, but lately it’s been struggling to cut anything and keeps cutting out so my guess was the motor was near enough to death.
Didn’t really go in looking specifically for a cordless trimmer but I did have to use an extension lead with my old unit, so was definitely interested to see how and what way modern grass trimmers have progressed.

The price was the deciding factor for me, as at the time of purchase there’s a 25 off voucher which should make the trimmers total price 76. This is great as the majority of cordless trimmers seem to be priced at around the 99ish mark.

Let’s start with the machine itself. The telescopic wand makes it easy to manipulate to accommodate the height of different users, it goes from about 110 to around 135cm from handle to the blade section. You essentially just unscrew the locking mechanism and extend the wand and then lock in the mechanism, nice and easy.

Adjustable handle at the top of the machine and the safety mechanism is that you need to hold in the safety lock button and press down on the trigger at the same time to operate the trimmer, pretty standard.

Easy to get in and out and install the accessories with the instructions included, but if you’ve used a grass trimmer before it’s all pretty standard and nothing that’s really any difficult for even beginners.

The accessories that are included are abundant.
You get two batteries, averaging around 20-30 minutes with medium length grass, two batteries should give you close to one hour, charge time is around 1 hour from completely empty. Easy to charge one battery whilst using the other with the included charger.

The other accessories are two metal blades, some pre-cut nylon wire cord, two spools of wire cord and a wrench tool. I’m personally not a fan of using wire cords and would have preferred plastic cutting heads/plastic blades but that’s just a personal preference. I think the range of accessories included will appeal and be useful to anyone looking for a good grass trimmer.

All in all, I think this is the best priced trimmer for around 76 on Amazon at the moment. I’m happy with the quality and performance of the grass trimmer, I can’t compare to other cordless trimmers but can say it’s a worthy successors to my old worn out corded grass trimmer and I hope this will last me as long as the previous grass trimmer.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe Bamse Cordless Grass Trimmer required very little assembly to prepare it for use. Just set the handle and head positions and shaft length and it is nearly ready. The safety guard slots in place and is held by two small cross-head screws. Now all is ready to fit the cutter you require.tp the head. There is a choice of strimmer head or cutting blades. Fitting the strimming line to the black disc is straightforward and shouldn’t present a problem. However, you do need an allen key/hex key (not supplied) to fit the strimming disc or cutting bladers to the trimmer head. Finally, slot the battery in place and you are ready to go.

In use, the trimmer is light and feels well balanced. The shaft length is adjustable as is the angle of the head which means that it can easily be set up to be comfortable to use by people of different heights.
The trimmer is surprisingly powerful and did a good job of cutting the long grass around our decking and around the log rolls that border our flower beds. I’ve previously used a corded electric strimmer for these tasks, but found the cordless Bamse trimmer vasty superior. It is also useful that it is supplied with two batteries so you have no worries about loosing charge in the middle of a job.

Once registered with Bamse, the trimmer comes with a two-year warranty.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersHaving had 2 edge trimmers in last 18 months where I was spending more time freeing the jammed or lost feedline from the spool than actually strimming, I was looking for something different when I saw this trimmer. I have had Bamse brand stuff before and have been impressed with their efficiency and build quality so it was obvious choice to me.

The strimmer out of the box felt well made and just the right weight. The assembly literally took less than 15 minutes. You need a screw driver and an allen key to fix the safety guard and tighten the disc that holds the cutting lines. I am always impressed by Bamse’s thought for customers, four pre-cut lines and two batteries are testimony to that.

In use I found the strimmer extremely efficient. All the heights and angles can be adjusted to suit your own needs and for safety the switch is fail safe. You have to press the button before you can start by pressing the trigger. Although not much of a gardener but I managed to achieve a fine border and a neat edge.

The battery I used first was already charged quite a bit and was fully charged within the hour. The battery has a convenient LED traffic light system where it shows the status of the charge as has the trimmer itself. The battery seems heavy duty as after more than half an hour of use, it was still showing green.

In summary I would say this is a good, solid strimmer. It is lightweight and easy to use but at the same time feels robust.

The battery lasts quite long and since the pack includes two batteries, you don’t even have to pause to charge it.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersThis grass trimmer is very easy use but unlike some strimmers it does not have an autofeed spool, which can sometimes jam in use preventing the cord from feeding properly. Instead this strimmer comes with a choice of a metal disc with cutting cords, and more substantial diamond shaped blades for heavier duty use. Although the manual starts by explaining how to fit the metal disc, it is better to first attach the safety guard in place with the two screws provided using the hexagonal screwdriver, which is neatly located in a slot in the handle (see pic).
Before attaching the disc, the cords need to be fed onto the disc, which is very straightforward, and ones are provided already cut to length, although there are two spare reels of cord allowing replacement as necessary. Ensure that the spacer on the spindle is the correct way round with the oblong facing downwards and the protruding ring facing upwards. Once done the disc can be located onto the spindle of the strimmer and the nut easily tightened using the provided keyed spanner and the hexagonal end of the screwdriver. The telescopic handle is readily adjusted by unscrewing the knob and sliding the handle to a convenient working height. The auxiliary handle can be rotated by depressing the button on the left hand side, and then releasing it to lock it in place. There is a further button at the bottom of the unit which once depressed allows the handle to be pivoted to give the correct angle for strimming. Once the battery is attached, which easily slots into place, it can be easily monitored while the unit is in use from the very useful “traffic light” battery indicator LED’s which are located in the handle. With two batteries, most jobs can be done without waiting to recharge. Recharging though is straightforward with the provided charger showing red LED when charging and green LED when complete.
The unit has a fail safe start up, so that the button on the left needs to be depressed before the trigger is activated thus ensuring that the trimmer cannot be accidentally started, an excellent safety feature. Strimming was very straightforward and it can also be used to trim lawn edges by quickly adjusting the pivot of the head. With the blade fitted it will also tackle heavier duty situations such as very long grass, really tall weeds or brambles. The brushless motor works great and eliminates arcing inherent on more conventional motors.
The manual is not particularly detailed but QR codes have been provided and once scanned give access to YouTube videos on various aspects of how to use the unit which is extremely helpful. A 2 year guarantee is provided once the product has been registered which is another added benefit.
Overall this is a very good solid strimmer unit which will tackle a variety of situations with relative ease, and is very lightweight, yet robust and portable

I was up and runnning with this in about 15 minutes, it’s light but feels sufficiently sturdy for the job. The fitting of the guard needs a screw driver but there is one that clips in to the handle which is great, the only other tool is needed to fit the plate on the body after slotting in the supplied cutting cords. Made short work of trimming the grass edges by my wall even though it was still wet and is easy to clean down. I will also be using this to get rid of some brambles which on a test it managed with the cord and plate setup, for the thicker stuff though there is metal blades included. I’m a tall guy so was pleased it has plenty of height adjustment too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to setup, lots of adjustments available and bonus of 2 batteries.
