These are great once up on the wall properly. I used the supplied screws and plugs and followed the instructions. After attaching the holder on a Brieze block wall and hanging up a bike the whole thing pulled off the wall. Rather than give up I tried some different plugs and screws and they worked perfectly. Perhaps just my bad experience but I would avoid using the supplied fixings.
These are a surprisingly hefty item considering the price and I am sure they will last a long time. Would be nice if the hook was able to be folded down when not in use but well made otherwise.
Definitely recommend getting your own screws as the ones provided are cheap and weak I managed to snap 3 out of 4 while installing.
So easy to fit – but I did use a heavier gauge, longer screw in the top hole as it takes the strain. But I’ve used it on thermal wall blocks in the garage and they work fine (doesn’t have to be brick) – but I do have the back wheels resting on the ground so the weight of the bike is not borne by the fitting.
Great value
Excellent quality, as I have stud walls decided that most of the weight is on back wheel on the floor, so did not suspend it too high…….as I only have 1 bike, I will give the other to brother as they come in a pack of 2..excellent value for money. can be a bit tricky getting front wheel into hook, so I may cut off 20 mm, as hook is very big for big tyres
I installed into a block wall and it came right down. The wall plugs were useless. I replaced them with my own and it was good. A good strong product and I have ordered more, just replace the wall plugs.
These went straight up into garage wall really easily with the wall plugs and screws provided. They are perfectly secure, holding my adult bike and my sons 20″ bike. I’m not worried about them coming away under the weight of the bikes.
They have helped create more floor space by getting the bikes vertical and lifted off the floor. They feel really sturdy and solid.
I’m really happy with these
I now have 5 of these and they allow me to easily store our family bikes in a space where we have a lot of floor space but limited wall space.
Its easy enough for the kids to be able to take the bikes on and off the wall themselves and it also keeps our garage looking tidier than it otherwise would.
I would suggest using your own wall fixings as the ones supplied are a little bit on the cheap side.
Can’t argue with the value for money, they are doing the job well. I had to come in at a slight angle to fit my 29ers on there when fully inflated. I may try bend the arm a little to make that easier, but the hybrid slips on and off without any issues.
The screws they came with are a bit cheap so I ended up using some decent ones I had and my own plugs.
All in all, good product and good price.
Easy to fix however you might want to use different plugs than those that come supplied as I pulled the whole thing out of the wall very easily when my bike was loaded. Make double sure you’ve got a very solid grip when attaching these.
I’d have preferred the ‘hook’ to move a little as others I have used before but these are fine. I have both my bikes hung on the wall of my garage nicely with these.
Just installed this to hang up my bicycle, it’s a solid enough bracket and good quality for the price, although if you have thick tyres, it might be tight getting it in to the hook where the flanges might interfere.
However the supplied screws are simply made of cheese. One head sheared off when screwing in to wood (pilot hole drilled in advance) and then the other screws started to round off very quickly. I would recommend using other solid screws if you have them available.
These were very easy to install but one of the provided screws did snap while installing. Work really well for smaller tyres (road/ gravel bikes) but struggle to fit in large mountain bike tyres between wall and hook. I’m going to remove rubber coating from hook, cut 1/2″ of the hook and add protective tape to the hook again to make more space to slide tyre in and out of the holder (see you pic)
Was concerned about whether these bike holders would work on my WTB Trail boss tyre in 2.6 as the tread is very aggressive and due to a few reviews saying it’s a really tight squeeze getting the tyre and rim around the hook… It is and it isn’t! My first go I got it on but couldn’t get it off to which I then started to panic like a fool thinking my pride and joy is stuck there forever unless I hacksaw the hook away. Again foolish me wasn’t doing it right and with a bit of practise it’s on and off now in no time. If you have larger/wider tyres and rims like me the best way to get it on is holding the bike with one hand and the wheel with the other coming at it from an angle and hooking the rim around the hook first before positioning the bike parallel. I have fixed mine in position so the back tyre is fully seated on the ground so there is very little weight or pull on the hook and bike rim. It is right to left with the hook opening on the right hand side. Takes up very little space as you can see in the pictures and i just simply added a stud battern inside my shed for it to be fixed too and job done. I would definitely recommend these they seem a good solid build and perfect for what I needed oh and the price is ridiculously cheap!
Simple but effective I’ve managed to finally find a way to store our 6 bikes in less than 2m of wall space. The posh road bikes with carbon deep rimmed wheels are arranged so the back wheel sits on the floor, this takes any weight off the front wheel. The stronger mountain bikes are higher off the ground and hang there. These are all wood screwed into OSB board that lines the garage. Perfectly solid and quick and easy to remove the store the bikes.
You may struggle to get MTB tyres over 2.4″ or road bikes with anything deeper than 40mm rims in the racks. Excellent product for the money.
I bought these hooks to hang my and my partner’s bikes. Due to the weight of each, I opted to mount the hooks slightly lower so the back wheels of each bike rest on the floor. Something to think about it you don’t want to lift heavy bikes in winter when it’s cold.
The hooks are sturdy and very easy to install. Installation took around 15 minutes in total. I gave each hook a good hard pull before mounting the bikes and they seem very strong. The touring (black) bike weighs 17.5kg unloaded and I have no concerns about it taking the weight.
One downside to note: the size of the hooks is large enough to accommodate mountain bike tyres. If using smaller tyres, this means that there’s quite a bit of empty space (as in image 1) between the wheel and the hook which means the wheel is able to turn left/right slightly.
This is probably not an issue if you intend to place the hook high enough so the bike will hang, but worth noting if not. I’ll fix mine by padding out the hook with some pipe insulation to make it fatter.
For the price these are ideal for storing bikes up out of the way, the hook that holds onto the wheel is fixed into position so you can’t stow it flat when not in use which may be a problem for some but doesn’t affect me too much.
With 4 anchor points your almost guaranteed for a solid fixing, I would suggest using your own plugs & screws to install it, the supplied fixings weren’t adequate enough for my solid concrete walls (I opted for Screwfix Wall Anchors) again this is all subject to your needs.
