This is the aftershave my middle son uses. I usually get it for Christmas for him from my mother and I buy him a selection of his favourite toiletries from the clinique men’ range. I also buy a few ‘stocking fillers’, a bottle of spirits or case of beer – last year I bought him his own washing machine. This year we have had a budget Christmas. I spent all my money on a damp proof course in October, then we found water underneath the house and a bathroom leak brought down half the ceiling, which wiped out any emergency funds. I initially told my sons (28 to 23 years old)not to buy me anything and I wouldn’t buy them anything but my mother gave me money for them.(I have done a lot of extra shopping for her this year, she fell downstairs in February and hasn’t really recovered. Her partner used to write cheques for her when she ordered mail order stuff – he now has dementia and it takes him over half an hour to write a cheque – so after the first time I said ‘shall I see if I can get it on-line she kept asking about other things she wanted.) I am normally well organised and would buy this in early November but I was delighted to be able to get it at an excellent price so late in the day and still have it delivered for Christmas. My son was also delighted -he has recurrent health problems and was working long hours – he was sent home from work after collapsing and when I visited he had nothing to eat in the house. I bought him over 50 of groceries and went round a few days before Christmas and put up a small tree (mother’s old one) and the wrapped gifts. The same person who told me he was ill said that he had gone into work smiling “I’ve got a tree and there are presents under it”. So thank you very much for your excellent service.
