Although this is quite a small set of cutters, they cut through mattress springs like a knife through butter. Think it would struggle with anything too much bigger, however, we’re perfect for what I needed them for.

This is a hefty product with generous amounts of steel.
It managed to cut a chrome vanadium shackle on a jammed padlock and saved having to use a contractor. Well pleased.
Keep away from children, it could bite!
    Well satisfied with investment.

Needed to get a padlock off a gate, where the key had broken off in the lock. These did the job perfectly, even though I had to apply a lot of pressure before it cut through the metal. Not used for anything else yet, but did the job perfectly.

I am not a strong person, rather the opposite. I needed to cut a bolt to replace a toilet cover that was stuck, and this really saved me. It took a bit of effort, but it cut the bolt clean at the end (about 3mm thick). Just be careful when you use it, as the head of the bolt flew in the air with great force.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersUsed them to take a padlock off a shed. Took quite a bit of effort and a few good goes before I got it off.
Not sure if more expensive ones would have been easier but it got the job done none the less.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought these believing they were “solid”. The Description says “solid stainless steel”. The model I received has crimped on tube handles. On closer inspection, two of the photographs do show crimped on handles, but the other photos show solid cast handles. I was hoping for solid handles to be capable of taking a little more abuse, so I am somewhat disappointed. I bought these in preference to another set because these appeared to have solid handles.

The cutter according to its stamp is made of Chrome Molybdenum steel, which I think is very appropriate, but possibly not “stainless”. The pivot mechanism looks like cast steel, and the handles are steel tube.

Having handled these, I consider them a step up from electrical wire cutters, and that is what I need at the moment, but I like tools to be robust, and these look like I should handle them gently.

I really didn’t expect much for the price but I was pleasantly surprised! I needed to get a security tag off a bottle (it was delivered with it still on, I didn’t steal it honestly) this did the job! We’ve since used it for a padlock that we’d lost the key for, it cut it very easily. I’m not very strong but I had no problem. Very sturdy and definitely value for money.

I used this cutter for removing a big chunk ofold, metal fencing in my allotment. The tool cut the metal like a butter. Easy to use and shatp.. That’s what I needed

After reading good reviews I decided to try this instead of the mini ones. I needed to cut down new drawer knobs and it did the job with moderate force. Not a clean cut but I’ll need to use a file tool. I would recommend this and very happy I decided to buy these rather than the scissor tool.

I have bought this to dismantle a big cage for dogs. Basically cut it to pieces so it fits into the bin. I had to use some force for the stronger wires. But they were galvanised, probably close to the 8mm wires. It cut many of them and did not break. Actually surprised something for this price survived my task (I do not really have much experience with this kind of thing). It does not open more than about 1cm which is probably usual, it would not cut stronger wires anyway. It does not seem like superstrong, i was very careful to not twist it during cutting. Now when it survived i think i will use it to cut some bolts, can update later.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis bolt cutter is a lovely little tool, as it’s helped me enormously with the easy removal of screws in a fence that I’ve been working on in the back garden! It cut through them as if they were made of plasticine! It’s of extremely tough construction and couldn’t be easier to use! A bit of common sense will tell you, with them being brand new, that on first use, you need to adjust the little black bolt that sticks out, just below the unpainted jaws to help align the cutting blades! I didn’t have to, as they were perfect as is! they are very stiff (on first use), but a little bit of oil or WD40 around all the bolts will help loosen it up very quickly! Fully open, the space between the blades was about 0.5 of an inch, so I’d use that measurement as a rough guide before purchase! Personally, I can’t find any fault with this tool, so am happy to recommend it to anyone! Always a great tool to have handy in your tool box!
