I only been using it for 3 weeks (once a week) now, but I can see how it is working and I have less hair and it’s taking it longer to grow back. Let’s see how it continues.

I wish this product had been made years ago, then I could have saved myself all that time that I have spent trying to tackle my facial hair, which then only got worse during peri menopause and onwards. It would have spared me years of embarrassment and having to cover up my top lip and chin with my hand if people got close, especially in bright daylight or sunlight. I had comments made too which hurt me so much. I cannot use facial hair removing cream due to skin sensitivity and wax strips never worked properly no matter what brand I tried.
I was too embarrassed to go and get my facial hair removed at a clinic, which is crazy I realise but…
I had read all the good reviews, not just on Amazon but on lots of other sites, so decided to buy it, half expecting that it would not be as good as it is made out to be, but it is! It is amazing.
It is quiet and handy to use, and has a strong light which shows up any hairs, but the best part is that it gets rid of them without causing any pain or soreness. It just gently and easily glides almost across skin. I had to check that it was working correctly because it was so gentle, but it was and it got rid of all the hairs and has left my skin so smooth. I keep checking and it has left no stray hairs plus there is no bristle feeling.
I wish I had bought this much earlier. It is brilliant and I am so happy!!!
I have had a previous cheap make that proved to last about a year, using it every other day. I cant tell how long this will last but having used it for a month it seems more robust and works very well. Original battery is lasting well. I only use for 2 minutes a day at mos

I have olive skin and brown hair and been using for a couple of months weekly without a break, now there is a difference (i think) but not very noticeable. Ive been using on the highest setting

Honestly did so much research and eventually decided on this for a black Friday deal! SO happy I did, its already made a massive difference, so impressed! Went from shaving legs every day to every week after only 4 uses and the growth is minimal compared to usual. Only issue is the face, not being able to pluck/wax in-between treatments! But discovered cuticle clippers and dermaplanning razors! But it is working, will get there just need to persevere! I have light skin and dark hair so it’s been perfect for me!

Expensive but it’s made easier with 4 equal payments. Easy to handle and use just starting to see the difference after 4 weeks of use. Facial hair on my chin is definitely getting less frequent not plucking it as much.

The reviews are very mixed- but it’s amazing! But, you have to use weekly, do not stop j because you have noticed a difference as they will come back. I use on my top lip, armpits, let’s and bikini line, fantastic results on every area. A must buy!
I was worried this may be painful, however I found it to be fine! Easy to use and get to grips with. Fast treatment time have only used twice so yet to see results. Only thing to mention is the flash is extremely bright sunglasses or protective glasses will make it more comfortable.

It’s a good device and I’m satisfied, but it should have been delivered to me with three screws, and when I opened the box, I saw that there weren’t more than two screws, unfortunately.
This is honestly the best thing I have ever bought! At 31 years of age, I have been conscious of my dark fast growing body hair since 11 years old and have forever been frustated at the process of shaving, being left with a shaving rash and unsettled skin, for my hair to grow back honestly 12 later! Rarely did I get my legs out in the sunshine due to hating my rashy, spiky legs! I have tried epilators, creams and other things over the years and nothing has worked. I’ve been for 2 consultations for laser hair removal at clinics but could never justify the cost. I did once pay for just under arms and never did I get the results in 12 weeks than I have with this little wonderful machine after just 3 weeks! After just 2 sessions I noticied hair growing back signicalty finer, softer and much less of it with patches of hair not growing back! I am now 5/6 sessions in and I am astounded with the results! I can not shave for a week and feel amazing – it may not be a big thing for someone people but for my legs to still be smooth after 7 days is a dream!! It is so incredibly easy to use, and fast. I am so excited to see my results in another 6 weeks! This has honestly changed my life and I couldn’t be happier. Perfect find before my wedding in 7 months time where I will be hair free and confident!
I’ve been using this for around 2 months now on my legs and underarms and the difference is amazing – I run a razor over them occasionally in the shower (takes about 30 seconds) but there’s almost no need, the hair has pretty much disappeared. I can’t believe how ‘easy’ it has been.
About 10 years ago I tried a different IPL (Boots own brand, I think) but it was a massive hassle – you had to apply a liquid to conduct the laser, and wait for it to recharge in between each pulse of light – it took ages and was messy and fiddly. It did make a difference to hair regrowth, but the process was such a faff that I quickly fell out of the habit of it.
This is so much quicker and easier to use – it takes me around 20 minutes to do the entirety of both legs and underarms, and that’s at a fairly leisurely pace whilst reading a book. It is no more hassle than shaving (although less easy to see where you’ve been!) and although it sometimes gets a bit hot, it doesn’t hurt at all (if it gets hot, I just leave it for a couple of minutes to cool down).
I’ve been doing it weekly for a couple of months and could probably shift down but it really isn’t a hassle so I’ll probably keep up the habit for a bit longer, and then step down over winter. I’ve not tried it on facial hair yet but that’s the next plan.
Product was absolutely stunning and definitely worth the money! Presentation was to die for and I really loved the product. But I did however return the product as my skin was abit dark it hurt a lot even when it was on the lowest setting. It was amazing that it automatically measures the sensitivity of your skin. Overall it was a stunning product!
I’ve been using the Braun silk expert pro 5 for 1 and 1/2 years and I couldn’t be happier with it.
After 6 months of using it, I was free of armpit hair. After 1 year my legs are almost hair free. I have the odd hair here and there but very thin. The bikini line is taking longer as my skin tone is Olive and some areas of the bikini line are very dark and I have a more aggressive French bikini style but I have very very little hair now.
In terms of pain at max setting, I barely noticed it in armpits and legs but the bikini line was another thing. At the beginning was quite painful but the fewer follicles you have the less painful it is. When I start, it took me about an hour to do legs, bikini and armpit. Now in 10 minutes is all done as I keep doing the hair free areas once a month.
For it to work, you have to be very constant and I would recommend to do a weekly session for as long as you need and then monthly touch ups.
You have to take in account that every person skin tone and hair is different. Hence, for some people it will work better than for others.
I have bought now a Tria laser for touch ups. So hopefully in a few months I will be hair free.
Like many women I was fed up of relentless hair removal, and begging to let it really get to me ..so I did some research and invested in this product, and just for info the product numbers refer to the accessories it comes with so just make sure you read the description after the first few weeks I wasn’t noticing any difference but I’ve stuck to the advice and used it once week after shaving and now I’ve reached the 11th week I’m really noticing a drastic change in hair, it’s near all gone, so I will keep persisting,.. I would definitely recommend this is worth the money and time if you are like me and have had enough of stressing about your body hair and you don’t want to have a random stranger do it for you!
I decided to buy this product during lockdown, because I was unable to go to the clinic where I used to get my laser done.
I’m Mediterranean, with dark and strong hair but not very dark skin and I’ve been doing laser treatments for more than 15 years (mainly in my face and legs).
I’ve spent thousands of / and even if these treatments helped, after a while everything came back to normal…
This machine is perfect for me, because, even if it’s quite a big investment at the beginning, I have already recover the purchase cost on the 6 months I’ve owned it.
If you are in the same situation than me, you probably already know that you are going to pay 8 sessions for 800 (at least) and after that you will need to keep going, because, I’m sorry to say, the hair is not going to disappear 100%. Even worse, if you leave too much time between treatments, the hair will come back again like nothing has happened.
I’m not saying that this product is better quality than the other lasers machines that I’ve tried, but in long term it is, since you paid it only once, and you can use it as much as you want/need from the comfort of your home, and you won’t have the problem of needing to wait until you can afford to pay an extra 800 for a new treatment.
My only regret is that I’m not very consistent and I keep forgetting to do it every often, but even if that is the case I can see that my face has never been that clean for a long period of time and that I’ve lost the half of the hair I used to have on my legs.
I don’t know how this product will work in people that have never had laser treatments, but if you are like me and are fed up of wasting money on clinics that promise miracles that are not going to happen, you really need this.
Once again, if you have suffered the painful laser professional machines, this is going to be nothing for you. I really cannot feel it! Just make sure you shaved your legs before using it (if you do it weekly for the first 12 weeks as recommended, you probably won’t need to shave, because you won’t have any hair!)
The first time you use it is a bit weird because you are not use to it so don’t know how to do it best or you are not sure if you have passed it in every single part of your body, but don’t worry, after a couple of times it will be easy to use and quick.

I have always had a problem with too much hair. In recent years I started growing some darker hair on my belly too. I’ve been struggling with ingrown hair on bikini line for years now and I have some scarring/discolouration there. All of this has made me very insecure and I become more stressed about this during summer time too – the time when you should enjoy yourself and your body and be able to swim, move around, wear lighter clothes!
I honestly thought that there is no hope for me and that I will have to go to a beautician and have a very expensive laser sessions (not IPL – stronger and more effective laser that truly gets rid of most of the hair for a long time, i suggest you read about it!). I haven’t mentioned it, but my hair grows super fast also and just haven’t to shave my legs every day is such a pain! Truly – if i shave today, I cannot go out in shorts the next day, I’m not over exaggerating.
Anyways, my mum has bought the Philips home laser and was pleased with it, so I wanted to try this one to have a comparison.
I’ve done 4 sessions so far and I cannot tell you how immensely happy I am with the result. NO, this is not the end and I absolutely do not mind having my weekly little laser sessions for a next year even, as long as the results are this good. I believe that next year I will have no problems with my hair anymore, maybe some slight shave here and there, but nothing compared to what I have been going through.
After only 4 sessions the hair under my bellybutton and my bikini line are almost gone. They grow back very slowly and they are now way more fair and thin then before. I can see a difference with my hair on my armpits – they still grow back, but I can see the progress. I love the difference on my legs as well – it takes a few days for them to be visible, they become patchy and fair, thin. I’m sure that if that’s what happened after a few quick sessions, in few months I will be over the moon with the results! Also – around my bikini line – I don’t get ingrown hair anymore and I can see that any old discolouration and scarring is slowly fading away.
I have bought this product for 300 – apparently it’s half priced, but seeing the results, I wouldn’t mind paying 500 or maybe even more..It’s truly life changing for me, I can see the difference in the way I feel about myself, this is no joke. If this is sth you struggle with – I believe that this is def a needed investment. We spend so much on shaving products all the time anyway. also I think that the younger you are when you do it, the more happy will you be and glad that you invested in yourself – my mum is 55 and I know how much this was an insecurity for her her whole life!
I have tried the Philips Lumea (there are many different versions! mine was a cheaper one, I’m sure the Prestige ones are rly good) and I have to say that I am way more pleased with this device. What Braun is really good with is the fact that you can GLIDE the device on your skin, which makes it so easy and almost an effortless process! I just put some podcasts on and do it, even if it’s painful, I kind of distract myself with Netflix, music or podcasts etc. Also – i don’t mind the pain at all (it’s not even consistent pain – more like ‘pinching’), but there are 3 settings and I always use the most powerful one. You can use the other ones, which are very easy on the skin and not painful at all.
THIS IS THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE – i would say make sure that the device (and the version!) you’re buying has the gliding effect, otherwise you keep on pressing the device to the skin and pulling it away, and again and again a million times….This Braun one is lighter and not as heavy as Philips Lumea and I have also read that it zapps quicker (true!), which makes the whole gliding process super easy comparing to other devices. In case of strength, they are all kind of the same, I’m sure the effect will be similar, but since it does take many sessions to do this, make sure that you buy a device that will be easy to use and won’t get you frustrated.
Oh one more thing – Philips Lumea Prestige comes without a cord, whereas this one has a cord. It does not make a huge difference to me, but I know it may for some people – I actually don’t have a socket in my bathroom, so I do the sessions on my sofa in the living room nowadays. Plus, I used to live with my boyfriend and I really wouldn’t like to do this in front of him, It’s sth you do need privacy for, so If we were still together, I would have really wanted the cordless device more. On the other hand, that’s why Lumea is so bulky, because it doesn’t have the cord and the battery must be bigger inside.

The item just arrived, I have not used it yet. I’ll add more details once I use it. So far it seems good. Easy to hold, not to heavy and I like that screen isn’t too small.
Can’t wait to use it.

It is not painful in areas you have less hair. But in areas you have more hair (in my case my legs, underarms etc) it can be a bit painful. However, if you’re as hairy as I am (I have Pcos so you can imagine how hairy I am) then this pain is nothing in comparison to other hair removal methods. I have used waxing which is painful plus it takes ages and I’ve used epilators and trust me, the meek little hot sting you feel for 2 seconds while using this device is nothing in comparison. Today was my first week of use and I will make another update a few weeks later. So far my advice would be to read the guide book that comes with it and just go for it. Shave your hair right before using, I say this because the light wants to target your roots, so, your roots should be exposed to it. That’s all I’ve got folks, All the best.

Have been using it for a few weeks now, however not as frequently as was suggested, it’s because i got busy with uni. Anyhow, even with me not following all the instructions that well, this device still showed results. For starters my hair takes wayyyyy longer to grow now, more importantly, I’ll actually have areas of my legs completely clean with some hairy patches here and there which reminds me i should pay attention to where i am lazering. Definitely would recommend investing in this product esp if your skin is light /fair and the hair is dark black. It works best on that combination.
I am so impressed with this. I didn’t know I needed it until I saw it advertised on Amazon. I have thick hair on my legs, upper thighs and bikini line that grows at the rate of weeds and I need to shave several times a week, leaving a painful rash on my skin. I have tried waxing but it became an expensive exercise with no real improvement. It was advised that I try laser but I didn’t think it would work so I continued the painful ritual of shaving my legs every other day. I often wore long trousers just so I don’t have to shave and to hide my embarrassing regrowth. I was sceptical when I first used this machine, I really didn’t think it would work for me but I was so so pleasantly surprised! I didn’t use it week as recommended as I just didn’t have the time so I used it every second week. After 2 tries I already had bald patches in my regrowth and after the 4th time my hair was so light and soft that I waited a week before I needed to shave again. My skin is so soft, I don’t even recognise my own legs Anymore. Such a contrast from the rashy and stubbly regrowth I used to experience. I now confidently wear dresses more often and my skin looks radiant. This has changed my life! I did use it under my arms too but it hasn’t made much of a difference there yet unfortunately. Will keep at it.
Have had this product for a few months now and done 7 sessions on my legs. For the first month or so nothing substantial changed in my hair growth, but 7 sessions in it’s now actually starting to work. Hair is now growing much slower and in patches only. I can foresee fully smooth legs by the end of the 12 sessions. The first few sessions it did hurt (pretty intense though short pain, like someone stabbing you with a pin 😉 but i discovered that this only happens when there’s even the smallest of hair growth. When I shave and directly use the machine afterwards, there’s no pain. The light is fairly bright, so it’s more comfortable using with glasses. It’s fairly expensive, but when you compare this with the price of professional hair removal, it’s absolutely worth it!
Over the years, I have had both IPL and laser treatments at various clinics and salons. Sometimes it worked well and sometimes it did not. Sometimes it was painful (usually more effective in those circumstances) and sometimes not (but then really didn’t yield results and sometimes made matters worse). In any case, it required a lot of treatments and was expensive.
So, I have been dubious about home IPL devices for some time. However, spotted this at a big reduction on Black Friday and liked the sound of the repeated blasts for large areas such as legs, so thought I would finally give it a try.
I’m so glad I did. This device is easy enough to use. I have been really lazy about it to be honest, not really following the instructions about frequency etc. However, after a few sporadic uses on my lower legs (maybe 3-4 times, several weeks apart), my legs seem to be virtually hairless. It wasn’t even painful. Considering I am quite hairy, honestly, it’s a miracle.
Now that it’s Summer and I am out in the garden and sun a lot I will have to stop using it for a while but, come Winter, I will be zapping everything, because this is great. I have dark hair but Asian skin tone, so quite olive, but this has been fine for me with no burns etc. I would recommend it for anyone with dark hair and mid to light Asian skin and fairer. Definitely give it a go as you have a reasonable amount of time to return it if it doesn’t work for you.
