Step 1
Put on a new, clean, disposable lens filter by snapping into position.
To turn the thermometer on, push the «start» button.
The thermometer is ready to use after two beeps are sounded and the non-flashing ear icon appears.
Step 2
Fit the probe snugly into the ear canal, then push the «start» button.
Step 3
One beep signals normal temperature. Audio fever indicator will trigger 2 consecutive beeps when the reading is equal or higher to 37.5°C and 4 beeps if the reading is equal or higher to 38.6 °C. The result is shown on the display.
Step 4
Gently pull off the disposable lens filter. Do not use force in removing the disposable lens filter.
The thermometer turns off automatically after 60 seconds of
inactivity.

Very good but …
This was used to check my husband’s temperature when he had relapses in his condition. It is easy to use but very difficult to hear the ‘bleep’ when the thermometer is ready to read.
Better if it came with a case!
It works but has no case!
How do you protect it and keep it clean if there’s no case? Trying to buy one takes too long too- I.e. EU SARL- No next day delivery
The measurement isn't very accurate
It’s quite convenient to get a quick and easy temperature reading, but the measurement isn’t very accurate. I always need to take it 3 or more times and average them out.
Brilliant device
Just out of hospital I wanted to ensure that I didn’t get an infection in the wound which is a major concern. This is as good as the thermometer used in hospital and the same type. It’s so easy to use both for adults and children, and extremely quick results. Well worth the money, and the peace of mind.
There is no other essential I recommend more than an accurate in ear (tympanic) thermometer such as this for your little ones. This is an investment you won’t regret as it’ll give you reassurance that you can accurately measure your child’s temperate when unwell. As an NHS paramedic and throughout the wider NHS we use in ear thermometers as they are the most accurate. Do not waste your money on a touch free/contactless infrared forehead thermometer as these as so inaccurate it’s worrying. These are simple to use, compact to store and last forever. They use 2 batteries that are easily changed. The colour guidance on the screen advises you how hot your child is ranging from green – normal temperature to red – very hot. Not only suitable for children it’s suitable for adults too.
Essential especially for kids
I recently brought this because my kids don’t like under the arm temperatures checks and they it usually takes ages, however this one is fast and super easy to use
Easy to use
Had another brand and found out it was reading 2 degrees low, wich could have been very dangerous when checking for signs of Sepsis.
Was recommended the Braun ThermoScan 6 Ear thermometer, by a health professional, as it is the one widley used in the NHS.
Easy to use and runs from AA batteries that should last well.
Portable and handy
Love this product for travelling. I have replaced my old Thermoscan for this. Very reliable , as usual , and we still use the same kind of cap we used 10 Years ago. Thank you for not adopting the shrink economy on the caps too .

Reliable thermomete
Bought for use during cancer treatment, this is a super reliable thermometer which is only to be expected from this good household name. Very easy to use and gives the reading within seconds.
Fast and easy to use.
Really quick, no faff. Seems accurate, repeat measurements are the same. Better for my toddler than the hospital recommended under arm ones, she’s not bothered by it. The beeps are useful so you don’t need to be able to see it, good for use in the dark/ evening lights. Doesn’t really need instructions. Press the button to turn on then press button when in the ear. Simple. Does as needed.
And you can reuse the hygiene cover things. I have for this one virus, will replace for the next time but can reuse for a week or whatever no problems.
Amazing thermometer!
This thermometer is genuinely amazing. I have not used many digital ones before however after using this for a few months due to having to check for infections daily, it has worked like a charm. The readings are quite accurate compared to the ones in hospital which has made sure I was alerted when I spiked a temperature of 39.8.
Definitely recommened purchasing this over other thermometers!
Simple to use
A simple to use thermometer which does exactly what you need at an affordable price. The sound settings make understanding the severity of any fever much easier, especially when measuring a child’s temperature at night! A backlit display is all that is missing from this thermometer, which my previous model had, but otherwise a great device that gives quick and accurate readings.
Works perfectly!
This came in very handy the past month when my son was poorly. Quick & easy to use and it remembers the last temp you took so you can keep track. The hygiene caps must be used otherwise it doesn’t work. Replacements are 9.50 ish for 40.
accurate but has drawbacks
We bought it as a brand trusted for it’s accuracy (a previous thermometer failed to pick up a 40degree fever)
It’s great in giving quick accurate readings
But it’s not got a back lit screen, so reading it at night, in a dark child’s room is very tricky.
It’s also very slow to change back to the measure setting after you’ve got a reading, e.g you do one ear, get the result, then have to push the button, get an error message and wait for it to re-set before being able to do the other ear.
I can’t believe how easy this is to use. I would never go back to a traditional thermometer.
It literally takes one second, and even before you read the display, the quiet beeps tell you whether temperature is normal, raised, or high.
It’s a compact size and light, but feels sturdy.
A doddle to use on children, because they don’t have to sit still for ages.
It also comes with some free nozzle covers.
I’ve been using one of these for the past five years in my primary care role. It is in heavy use, being used every working day several times per day.
It’s hard to really find any fault with this thermometer at all. In the five years that I’ve been using it, it has been totally reliable and remained accurate.
It takes x2 AA batteries, and battery life is very good indeed. I cannot remember when I last had to change the batteries.
It has fallen on the floor a few times (fairly inevitable with the level of use). When it hits the floor, the plastic battery cover will fly off and the batteries fall out, but the plastic retaining clip on the battery cover has never broken, and it all clips back together as it should and continues to work. Full marks for build quality and robustness.
Accuracy is good, and I’m happy that it is giving correct readings. I recommend pulling back gently on the earlobe to ensure that the probe sits properly into the ear canal. The disposable plastic covers for the probe keep everything clean and hygienic. You have to hold down the green button on top for 2-3 seconds, and then your readout appears clearly on the screen.
Little else I can say about such a straightforward, device. In short it has been 100% accurate and reliable, with good battery life, and is quite a tough little thing too, surviving 5 years of daily use with flying colours!
Really good product. We found the sensor to be a bit big for our toddler’s ears which meant we got varying temperature results depending on where the device was placed. We eventually found that pulling lightly back on her ear helped get the sensor into place
Easy to use electronic thermomete
First time buying one of these thermometers. Very pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use .. push button, stick in ear and her presto you have a temperature reading
Needing to monitor temperatures regularly as part of a medical regime, we needed a reliable piece of kit. The hospital recommended this device so it was purchased.
Seems to be pretty reliable in its use and gives essential insight that can be relied upon.
Has certainly done the job for us and inspires confidence in its use.
Works really well
Bought this as partner felt unwell and felt like he may have a high temp. Used this and it indicated he did indeed have a bit of a high temperature. I also like how it comes with some replacement caps for each use. But definitely will need to buy more if you’re going to be using this a lot.
Peace of mind
Our not so old Lloyds pharmacy in ear thermometer was kicking out all sort of readings which was no help at all, this seems much more accurate and not temperamental which is all we wanted!
The number of times the kids seem to pick something up much more comforting to know with accuracy what their temps are in order to make informed decisions on next steps!!

It’s really easy to use and as accurate as you can get. Some cheaper makes are not great as every reading is different. This is consistent and definitely recommend and will do adult, child and infant.
Good quality produc
This is the second thermometer I have bought. The first one lasted 3 years so knew what I was getting and when arrived this was exactly the same. Basic to understand and use and my go to for reassurance when checking my little ones temp.
I am receiving Chemo for next 6 months I was told to get a thermometer and measure my temp at least twice a day, this is because infections can be life threatening and a fever/temp can be an early sign.
I had a couple of probe type digital thermometers but no matter how I used them, underarm or oral they kept giving me readings I knew not to be accurate.
After a little research I found this to be a highly recommended product, advertised on various pharmacy’s for around 40 (Boots 32 with loyalty card), checked on here it cost me 28 and I bought 200 covers for 14 told the thermometer would arrive within a day or two (I have Prime) but the covers would take about a week. Both arrived in same package within 48hours.
It’s extremely easy to use and very accurate, I don’t know what I would do without it tbh.
Needs several tries, inconsistent between ears
This thermometer can be a bit frustrating as it sometimes gives inconsistent reads between ears. I ended up upgrading to the higher end Braun model which works much better. But for the price this basic one is decent, just be aware it may need a couple tries.
I ordered this after our non contact one was not working properly, my son was so hot within his body but he was cold to touch. He was clearly poorly but I count tell for sure if he had a temperature. This solved my dillema and I took him to the doctors. It comes with one box of hygiene caps too which was unexpected.
Very good quality and works great.
We use this with the kids all the time but it’s a little frustrating when it has a little glitch and won’t read the temperature even when the plastic hygiene cover is on. Luckily its only happened a couple of time and it almost resets itself after a couple of minutes back to the right screen.

Buy this if you have a baby
This is so much quicker and easier than using the under arm thermometers! The underarm one I had took a good 30 seconds to tell me the temparature, which is ok for an adult, but when you have a poorly baby you are trying to hold still in the middle of the night it is useless. We bought this one after a few bad nights sleep and it is so much quicker and easier to use. It doesnt have a backlight on the screen but it beeps differently for normal / fever temparature which is useful in the dark. It’s fiddly with the hygiene cap but I guess it has to be used to keep germs away from the sensor. The doctor also recommended an in ear one rather than forehead as apparently they are more accurate.

A fast and accurate thermometer for home use.
Braun seems to be the brand favoured by medical professionals and the sixth version of the ThermoScan has some improvements. It now has an indicator light to show when a successful reading has been taken, and the large display has colour coded lighting to show at a glance how the reading compares to normal. When using it on myself I found it difficult to operate the the Start button as it doesn’t have a positive action. The caps covering the probe have to be replaced each time it’s used, so this is an extra expense. Nonetheless it can be recommended for giving quick and accurate readings.
It's very precise and accurate but does not offer forehead check
I liked the precision and accuracy offered by this thermometer and its very easy and convenient to use but only thing I felt missing is it offers only ear temp check and limited disposable nozzles, and we don’t always want to take ear temp.
It works fine. When you can figure out how many times needed to push the button. Some times it’s one, sometimes it five.
We did have the model above this for 6 years, but then it gave in.
This one was cheaper so we thought we’d give it a go.
It feels lighter and cheaper than the other model, but I guess thats why it is cheaper.
The temperature button is tempermental. Sometimes one push and it gives you a reading and sometimes it beeps at you error.
So we just keep pushing until we get a reading.
But apart from that its fine.

Brought this as I have 2 young children, so far so good. Easy to use. Only slight negative would be is having to keep purchasing the ear protectors to go on it.

Was recommended this type of thermometer by my GP as the one I was using on my forehead was not accurate. Went for Braun as his was a Braun and reviews put it top.
Got this to replace our existing thermometer for my little one, whilst I find it does read a little hotter than other thermometers (could be a setting to adjust but haven’t found it yet) it does the job. Get the hygine for the ear guards but annoying it won’t read the temperature without one on so just a further exspence to then add
