Very Effective
I was initially not too keen on the scent, but it doesn’t last too long and after a few days I didn’t mind it. The balm is so effective, however, that it is definitely worth using and I have bought several deliveries of it.
Moisturising, but has the scent of lavender which I am allergic to. Nowhere did it state it had the scent of lavender which is why I purchased it. Given it to someone else.

Best thing for winter hands
I like to slather this on my hands while watching a tv show. It sits on the skin so not a moisturiser you can really use on the go. But, I find this is the only thing that helps when the skin on my hands gets cracked and sore from the cold.

My hands are very dry snd sore therefore I decided to try Burt’s Bees. I put it on at night and the next day my hands are soft. Would recommend this product and I like the fact that it’s all natural with no nasty additives.
Nice smell and absorbs well
Nice smell and easy to apply. Appears greasy to start then soaks in. Not convinced it moisturises much though but feels nice initially. I like Nivea Q10 too but this looks more “kitchen” and I keep this by the sink for when I wash up without gloves!!!

Been using it for a while. I get extremely dry skin over the winter period (to the point my skin cracks and bleeds). Even if I forget to use this for 3/4 days and it gets really bad the salve being put on overnight really makes my dry hands as good as new. Only thing is I feel it washes off if you wash hands (in covid it’s not helpful) but one application a night really sorts you out.

I use a lot of hand cream as I’m forever washing my hands and they get very dry if cream isn’t applied afterwards. I love the lavender scent of this balm although the smell soon disappears once applied .
I find the balm hard to apply as it’s quite solid; probably easier to apply if you have warm hands but as mine are always cold so this is a moot point. It is quite greasy too so I usually apply it at bedtime and this works well.. My hands are nice and soft in the morning. I’ve yet to decide if I would buy it again.
Love the smell of this and the health benefits
I have purchased this product over the years. I continue to buy it for its germ busting properties. Even though these aren’t advertised as such – it’s a well known fact that eucalyptus and rosemary are good in combating germs! I used to use this regularly on my hands before cleaning.
It is sticky but rubs in well although it will leave a residual feeling to the surface of your hands – this personally doesn’t bother me as I am using it more for a protective barrier to my skin.
The smell is quite strong but pleasant – although this will be down to personal preference. It is a natural smell not artificially overpowering.
I personally am very sensitive to artificial ingredients and fragrances and I get along really well with this particular product.
It comes in a handy tin which I do find a little awkward to get the lid of – I tend to use my nails to seperate the lid from the container itself.
This has saved my hands
Having to wash my hands more regularly due to COVID-19 (i did wash my hands before by the way) has left my hands really dry but this stuff has helped in a matter of days. I put some on every time after i was my hands and if my hands are feeling a little dry.
Less is more though, you really dont need to use a lot and you will find that your hands dont feel greasy once you have rubbed it in. Because you dont need to use so much you will find that it lasts a long time as the tin is a decent size but not to big. It smells great too
Does the job but a little greasy
I bought this when the skin on my knuckles started cracking with the additional Covid-inspired handwashing.
As one might expect from this company, it is a firm, wax like product, perhaps like very hard vaseline, rather thana lotion.
The main plus is that it absolutely does its job. I use it before going to sleep at night and when I wake up in the morning, and the soreness and cracking round my knuckles has gone.
Also it helps that it doesn’t leave me smelling like a tart’s window-box. If there is any aroma, it is a slight citrusy, citronella type smell.
The down side is that it really takes some Rubbing in if you want to avoid a residual greasiness.
Overall, it’s a good product, I like it.
This stuff is bloody fantastic, if I could end the review here I would but I need to explain why. For years on and off I’ve suffered with terrible dry skin on my fingers, I work in a hospital so am constantly washing my hands, wearing gloves, in and out of the cold/rain. One year I remember my fingers were really raw, the skin would be so dry it was like a river bed in a drought and the skin would flake off. For the last 16 months it’s just been dry and mildly cracked but still annoying and painful especially when it comes to constant washing and hand sanitizing. I’ve tried sudocream, e45, steroid cream, nivea, aveeno, O’keefs working hands, bio-oil, dermalex, dermol, diprobase, cetraben, vaseline, savlon, neutrogena, creams with argan oil, creams with honey BUT none of them have been as good as this. Even after 24hrs there was a night and day difference, it arrived on a Thursday evening so used some then and again in the morning, my hands haven’t felt this good in a long time, I don’t know how they do it but this salve is a miracle. If you have dry cracked skin on your hands maybe feet I would heartily recommend this
lovely stuff
My hands are in a terrible state – almost in tatters; dry, cracked skin on my knuckles and split skin on my thumb. I am always trying different ointments and handcreams but they never quite do the job. I’ve only just started using this but it’s so soothing and I can already see an improvement. The lavender fragrance is lovely – lavender always seems quite a nostalgic scent to me. I’m going to buy some cotton gloves to wear in bed after slathering this on my hands. It’s lovely, I will definitely buy it again.
Great hand salve and don’t get the comments about bad smell
Saw this recommenced for cracked and dry hands on a couple of different sites so found it on amazon. Was then initially put off by so many reviews complaining about the smell. From most the comments you expect some vomit inducing aroma to hit your nose on use! Anyway my hands have been so badly cracked and dry lately to the extent they were bleeding so I decided to brave the smell and try it and I am so glad I did. For a start there is nothing wrong with the smell. It’s gentle and actually quite subtle and while it probably wouldn’t be a reason to attract me to it at the same time it’s not bad at all and wouldn’t put me off. Then for the important thing – the results. I’ve been using it for 3 days now and my hands are well in the way to being fully healed. Even the largest cracks that were bleeding before are now healing and no longer bleeding. Can not recommend this product enough and I’ll definitely be using it regularly now.
When I first started stretching my ears I started using coconut oil to moisturise my lobes every day. Although the coconut oil works beautifully, the scent and anti-inflammatory properties of the ingredients of this hand salve have made the process thus far brilliant. I do alternate between this and the coconut oil for my lobes, but found that this is particularly helpful immediately after stretching.
As a hand salve, which this product actually is (although it is amazing for my ears!), I have found it has helped protect and toughen my skin. I work in a factory environment and despite wearing gloves my hands have developed blisters. The hand salve has helped soften the blisters and helped the skin beneath them heal and toughen quickly.
To add to what may be the best hand cream I’ve ever used, as far as I’m aware the ingredients are predominantly – if not completely – natural. This is particularly reassuring for me as I have been using this salve on damaged skin and I would hate to think that I’ve been putting any unpleasant chemicals into my body.
Fantastic product, smells amazing, works quickly! Have recommended to many friends and I carry it with me everywhere!

So recently I have stretched my ears to (a rather unassuming) 10mm. The stretch went fine, no issues there and it was painless; no tears, no blood or pus – great. The issue came a few days later when I notice the skin on the back of my ear had gone strange (something called a blow out – Google it!)
I diligently did salt water soaks and massaged with this as much as I could to encourage the skin on my ears to not be blown out! I did everything but downsize – though I did leave my plugs out for an hour or so on a morning.
We are now about three weeks after I first noticed the blow out and my ear feels so much healthier! The blow out has shrank and is now unnoticeable to others even without plugs in. I can still feel it but I guess I’m more aware of it. I’m keeping up with regular breathing time, massaging my lobes and letting the salve soak into my plugs before putting them back in my ears and this all seems to be working!
(I just thought I’d add that in, for others who may be using this to stretch their ears.)
I had a heavy allergic reaction on my hands. When it passed, my hands remained chapped, extremely dry, rough. And the skin was so weak that everything hurt x10000. I used the basic creams (parafine based) and more nutritive ones (elizabeth arden 8h) and nothing changed…until I bought this. Within 9 days, my hands were back to normal, totally amazing.
As note, this smells like lavender, like A LOT. If you don’t like this smell, keep this in mind.
Also, this is oil based and it is not the type of hand cream that absorbs easily, it is more like a balm. You need to give a massage when applying and you will have to wait a few minutes.

I do a lot of work with my hands, so they’re prone to splitting and cracking quite badly, I also have some pretty wicked caluses and this hand balm is just about the only thing I’ve found that does the trick.
It keeps your hands nice and supple, and if the skin is split, it doesn’t sting or cause tightness. The only thing you have to be aware of is it is very thick and can take a little while to sink in. I usually put mine on just before I go to bed, and really massage it into my hands, and by the morning my hands are smooth, non-greasy and usually much happier. If you put too much on, just rub it over anywhere else that gets dry (my knees and elbows usually – Bristol water is like liquid rock) and it works a treat.
The Lavender, Rosemary and Eucalyptus scent is a plus too, super relaxing!
If like me your hands suffer in colder weather then you’ll know having cracked skin on your hands is neither comfortable nor appealing.
This hand salve will battle that dryness very quickly! I normally apply before I go to sleep and wake up to find my hands almost miraculously restored.
The only negative I can point out is that it is VERY oily. Unless you spend your days rarely touching anything I would advise planning to use it in the evenings / before bed. It does soak in but it takes a while and leaves an oily residue on whatever you touch.
Hand Salve
Seems to work but I find it difficult to put on my hands. I was expecting to have a tin arrive that had a cream in it, and I know it says Salve but I’m a bloke and didn’t know it would be hard like bloke of wax. You have to melt it with the heat of your fingers and then smear it over the area needing moisturising, like I’ve said difficult to do as it feels like you aren’t putting enough on.
Once applied to your hands it feels non greasy and I do like that as I am aircraft engineer and tools slipping out of my hands and disappearing in to God knows where, is not a good thing.
Would recommend if you have the time to spend melting and applying to your hands, several times a day.
