So far I am pleased with this printer. It was much easier to set up, and connect to my wifi, than I had feared, and was quickly recognised by my MacBook. It has a slightly smaller footprint than the Canon MG4250 which I was replacing after some years. To date, I have used it in draft mode, which saves on ink, and that is likely to give acceptable results for many purposes.

Not having much tech knowledge I purchased this after reading reviews. Just wanted a printer for my vinted labels. It’s extremely easy to set up and use. Even managed to replace ink myself!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFor the price this printer is fantastic. It came with ink which I was pleasantly surprised about. Really easy to install, the instructions are clear and tells you what you need to download and how to put it together. Be mindful that you do have to put some parts together but the majority of it is ready assembled so its pretty straight forward. I would say all in all it took me about 10 minutes to put together and install. Quick and great quality printing. Fits perfectly on my desk and suits my needs perfectly.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI was worried that this would not be any good as it is so inexpensive. I was wrong . This works well & prints from my phone or laptop on Wi-Fi . Setting up made me think but was fairly straightforward & I consider it a good buy.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI needed a replacement for my black and white printer, and this one fitted the bill (ie its cheap)
I found it easy to set up. Shame the ink is so expensive.

Now I’m fairly stupid when it comes to anything to do with computers, and yet I managed to connect this printer, insert the ink cartridges, and print an email in under 5 minutes. Perfect. Thank you Canon for making such an inexpensive, simple to use product of high quality.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI have had the printer a few weeks now, as I wanted to put it through its paces, and I have to say it has been probably the simplest printer/scanner to set up and use that I’ve ever owned. I’ve only got android devices so initially not sure what to expect, but I followed the instructions on the box scanned the QR code and a couple of YouTube clips in, the printer was up and running. I’ve tested it out on a variety of paper and card and being a top loader means I’ve been able to use vellums and other specialist mediums. All have given good results, ink delivery on paper is good no smudged or missed spots.
Scanning documents and photos is fast and accurate, and pretty quiet.
So for the price of 49 this printer is hands down overall a great workhorse for the money.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersIf you are adding this printer to a computer or laptop, it will be easy to set up. However, I wanted it to print from my ipad, and this was not quick and easy to set up. It consistently couldn’t find the printer for a good hour and was extremely frustrating. Then it suddenly seemed to burst into action and finally found the printer, and set up was then very quick.

It printed what I wanted very quickly, and the print quality is good. I have had canon printers before, and have always found them to be good, reliable printers. I haven’t had a wifi printer before so no idea if they are all such a faff to set up to the wifi, but in spite of this, I am very happy with this printer.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI use this for printing from my iPad Air tablet ! Set up was remarkably easy (10 mins) considering that I could not connect my old large multi cartridge Canon to my new BT router WI-FI even after 2 days.
Print quality looks OK but I have not fully assessed photos! Here’s the BUT. ! It only has 2 cartridges, a black one and a colour one!. Replacements cost almost the same price as a new printer! I suggest you check the printing costs for black and white/colour before purchasing this one. Not cheap but also not the most expensive but then most ink jet printers are not cheap! If you do not do a huge amount of printing, then this one is probably O.K.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent small smart printer BUT!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFine home printer scanner, not top class print quality, but more than good enough. Famous easy setup was not. Took an hour+ longer than should have. Instructions and online prompts not good enough

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersI spent a good hour trying to connect the printer to my WiFi and iPhone with no success. It was very frustrating until I disconnected my WiFi and turned everything off for 30 seconds. Upon reconnecting everything, the printer connected straight away. May I suggest before you feel like throwing the printer out of the window that you just breathe and take a second to reset everything. Fingers crossed that will resolve the problem as it did for me. Other than those early connection frustrations, the printer is easy to use and produces satisfactory products.
