I’d almost given up on finding a moisturiser that worked for my skin. I’m 42 with sensitive, dehydrated skin, and after trying other products my face became very dry and peeled in large patches. My cheeks, nose and chin were red and textured, and makeup just wasn’t sitting well.
I decided to try the CeraVe Moisturising Cream, and after just a few days I could already see a noticeable improvement. The redness has calmed down, my skin feels much more comfortable, and the rough, dehydrated texture has started to smooth out. It feels rich without being greasy, absorbs well, and hasn’t irritated my sensitive skin at all.
It’s honestly the best my skin has looked in years, and I’m so glad I gave it a try. I’ll definitely be repurchasing.
I’ll admit I’m a sucker for fancy packaging and a bit of dodgy marketing that promises me the skin of a 20 year old despite my addiction to the sun. So moisturisers like this one have never really been on my radar.
I always assumed they were a bit basic because they didn’t have a celeb endorsement or exotic sounding ingredients or words like ‘instant smoothing’ and ‘glowing’ all over the packaging.
Anyway, my skincare snobbery recently came back to haunt me as after one dose of snail serum or something like it too many, my skin rebelled. Not just a mini pimple protest but a full on demonstration of eczema, red raw skin, itchiness, spots and acne.
It won’t surprise you to learn that nothing in my bathroom cabinet came to my rescue. I didn’t want glowing skin, I just wanted skin that didn’t look like someone had taken a hot poker to it.
I desperately searched the internet into the small hours and noted that this cerave moisturiser came up time and again. Basic and unscented for the win! So I ordered it in and slathered it on, and in very little time my skin became calmer and the pimples gave up their protest.
However, reader, I’m ashamed to admit that I did not learn my lesson. Whilst grateful to this cream for coming to my rescue, I couldn’t wait to get back to my complicated and expensive skincare regime, and the promised land of glowing glass skin or whatever nonsense I was getting sucked back into.
Thankfully though, I started to realise that not only had this cream calmed my skin, it was actually starting to feel great. Nourished, hydrated, smooth, more even. You know, the things that actually matter and are actually obtainable without heading to Harley street.
I’m now on my third tub which takes some doing as the tubs are huge. Given the bargain price of this stuff, I love taking out large scoops in my fingers and whacking it generously over my face without worrying that spreading some onto my neck might cost the equivalent to half a months rent. And I know a tub isn’t glamorous but who cares when you can easily get every last bit out – unlike a tube where it’s frustratingly obvious that there’s still lots in there that just won’t come out.
So all in all, it might look basic and boring, but in terms of actual results I’d swap it for snail slime, bee venom and seaweed any day

The skin on my cheeks and the back of my hands was rough and sore from winter wind and frequent hand washing. Hand cream didn’t help,in fact it stung my skin. Even water hurt and I read this was because my skin barrier had broken down and even moisturiser on my face burned so much I had to wash it off.
I tried this and it’s amazing.
My skin is now smooth,moisturised, it doesn’t sting anymore.
I use it morning and night and my skin looks so much brighter and feels soft and smooth. Another benefit after a few months is now my skin is healthier, the spots I used to get have gone too, which nothing had ever worked before, and it wasn’t something I was expecting.
It comes in a huge tub so it should last for ages and I wouldn’t be without it now.

All good. Price is also very reasonable. Came on time and did not have to wait for long delivery duration. Product came well too, no dmg. When using the product, it was very good on my skin. Works well as moisturizer.

Quand j’ai ouvert le pot de ce baume, j’ai immdiatement pens que la texture ressemblait des oeufs battus en neige! Et, tout de suite, j’ai p constat qu’aucune odeur s’en dgageait enfin , c’est pas toujours facile trouver. J’ai donc essay ce baume tout doux, et soudain, une fracheur agrable sur ma peau, quelques secondes aprs, aucun gras sur le visage, que de la douceur. Si vous aim ces critres, nul doute que ce baume vous sduira, comme il m’a sduite !
FINALLY a cream that doesn’t irritate my face. I have slightly dry and sensitive skin (very fair, English rose type, I’m 43) and the area around my eyes gets itchy & red, especially if my eyes water. In fact it became so itchy & irritating that I actually had to give up moisturising and I even stopped wearing makeup. Yes I know, I hear you – moisturising your face is kinda important, plus I looked pretty with makeup, and I couldn’t wear anything especially around my eyes, not even mascara! I don’t wear loads, but wearing nothing at all honestly made me feel a little sad, I liked looking pretty.
For years I’ve tried every single “sensitive” / “hypoallergenic blah, blah, blah” face moisturing product available at Boots. I spent a small fortune (arggh). Then I read these reviews and tried this (the CREAM in a tub, NOT the pump-dispensed Lotion) and… it hasn’t irritated me! Omg, the joy of moisturising, and then a few days later, even better.. I applied Foundation & Mascara on top and my skin was still okay.
This is cream, it’s fairly thick, you don’t need too much, or the excess will sit on your skin, it absorbs well, is non-greasy, unperfumed and leaves my skin feeling very soft & supple, plus it’s not stupidly expensive.
Maybe all this might all sound trivial to you, and yes it is just a “1st world” problem. But I also went through chemo and I lost all my hair too (amongst other things.. I was pregnant & engaged – yep, real heartbreaking time). Anyway, tonight I’m in Portugal for a week with my man, I applied this cream, followed by my makeup, and styled my curly hair… It’s been a long while since my skin felt comfortable, and I saw myself looking pretty. Looking back at myself in the mirror I saw someone that I haven’t seen for far too long.. and she was smiling back at me.
I bought this recently for my dry shins after years of using CeraVe’s face wash, and it’s become a staple. The cream is thick, and while it sits on the skin for a short while before fully soaking in, I find that’s what makes it feel so hydrating. Compared with the pump bottle lotion (which absorbs faster), this gives deeper, longer lasting moisture.
The big tub is excellent value and lasts ages, even with daily use. I like that it’s fragrance free, gentle, and packed with ceramides and hyaluronic acid — exactly what you want in a moisturiser.
If you’re dealing with dry or very dry skin and want a no-nonsense product that works, this is a brilliant choice.

Great moisturiser, I use it after applying a serum and this locks in that product and moisture. It’s quite a heavy cream so probably good for my 55year old face lol, might be too rich for a younger skin. I always have a pot of this in, if only to use a night cream
Can't beat this - my skin drinks it in and it last the day
Never felt the concept of “skin drinking” in a moisteriser (always felt that was just marketing speak), but after using this I DO actually feel like my skin is abosorbing it in this way! (Strangely enjoyable too!) It doesn’t leave a residue on the skin and is completely absorbed. It also doesn’t have a smell, which is great too. A small amount goes a long way and lasts the entire day. When on offer, this larger tub is a bargain, as one tub lasts me about 4 months of daily use. I have got friends and family onto this stuff (who all love it) and can’t recommend it enough.

This is probably the largest tub of moisturiser on the market and I was sceptical that such a large volume, for such a reasonable price, would work.
As I hit the menopause my skin changed and is currently varying from dry to very dry. I needed a moisturiser that was gentle but effective. When it arrived I was concerned because it is a very thick moisturiser (for those my age, remember of Oil of Ulay or Avon?) and I was worried it would be claggy or too heavy for my skin. No such worries, although I do find that due to its thickness a little goes a long way – bonus. It absorbs well and doesn’t make me feel greasy. It is also fragrance free which I like.
For those younger than me, it is perfect for slugging albeit with a moisturiser rather than Vaseline. I do this a few times a week on the eye lines and top lip.
Obviously a massive plus point is the large pot that lasts a long time making it exceptionally good value for money.
It’s not the nicest looking pot – a bit bulky and ugly but I can forgive that for its value and effectiveness. A firm 5 stars from me.

I absolutely love this. I have dry skin, I use a small amount morning and night. It’s makes my skin feel soft, it’s not greasy and odourless. For the price it is incredible and an essential item in my beauty routine.
Immense moisture, without greasiness!
Where has this been all my life? I have quite dry skin after I shower. And I hate moisturisers that leave a greasy residue. This does NOT do that! And it doesn’t matter how much you apply, your skin will just absorb it all and be moisturised all day. Best cream out there!
I’m pleasantly surprised how well this cream has improved my skin. Before, my skin barrier was very damaged and I was prone to a lot of breakouts. After using this cream for a couple of months, I have seen a very positive result. The consistency is also thick, so it’s great for very dry skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth all day. It does seem pricey, but considering the positive effect on my skin and the fact that it’s lasted me for about 4 months (and there’s still some left!), I think it’s definitely worth the money.

I have very sensitive skin which is also gets very dry. I have been searching for a moisturiser to help but every one I had found caused a lot of iritation and redness. I am so impressed with this cream as it makes my skin feel amazing with minimal to no irritation. I can’t recommend it enough to people with sensitive skin.
The only reason I’m giving it a 4 star is because the container doesn’t have a tamper seal. This seems ridiculous for this kind of product as someone could easily open it and mess with the contents before it arrives to you. Despite this the cream is so effective I still recommend it but ensure to check for any signs of tampering before applying it.

This gives my skin care and protection from “life”. When my skin feels dry or rough I just need a small amount on my fingers to rub in and my skin feels smooth and moisturiser again. All over.
Favourite moisturise
Have went through a bunch of different moisturisers but I love this one for dry skin. It says use liberally and I do, sometimes I use it twice a day but it doesn’t make you look greasy.
I have spent a lot of money trying new creams for dry skin mainly on my legs, I will not looking for anything else ever! This product is great nice and creamy to apply not greasy and my skin looks better after just a few days, excellent product.

I have tried nearly every product going. This one gets too marks it gets absorbed immediately & you feel the benefits straight away, I no longer waste my time & money with other products even my husband used this one he’s dry skin patches
Bit expensive, but will last a good few months.
I’ve found you only need a tiny pea sized amount. I was using too much and broke out with whiteheads. Since using less my skin has cleared, so keep that in mind when applying xo
Great value for money
I was worried that it might not be the same consistency as the smaller packaging but the cream is great. Perfect for sensitive skin – moisturises without leaving grease, and has no smell.

I absolutely love CeraVe’s like of products – affordable skin care with good ingredients and safe for my extra sensitive skin, and their moisturiser is the same!
I have mixed skin, with oily skin on my forehead and dry skin around my nose. This moisturiser works for both types for me, and really sooths my dry skin around my nose. It’s a great price for the amount of product you get, and has performed well even over the dry summer days.
Can’t recommend CeraVe’s line enough, especially to those who are broke with sensitive skin.

I’ve got very dry skin. I’m ve tried loads of products over the years none have worked. I absolutely love this product. I was wary about spending so much as I didn’t think it would work. It is amazing. It has made so much difference to my skin, I gave some to my Mam it has worked on her too. Fantastic, highly recommended.
Last for eternity
This was a fantastic buy the tub is absolutely huge so will last for a very last time.
Its done wonders for my face it was becoming very dry and other products wasn’t working but after applying it consecutively for 3 nights the dry patch completely disappeared.
If you have oily face i would advise you to apply like myself at night to avoid the shine but i haven’t had any breakouts and it works wonders.

Lovely cream which can be used all over, saving you buying separate face and body moisturisers. No tacky or sticky after feel, skin feels much healthier after using. I like that it doesn’t have much of a scent so can be used at any time of day or night. Worth the money and will definitely repurchase.

I’ve used cerave for years now for my psoriasis.After reading some mixed reviews,it seems like some of you must have wrong purchased and confused between moisturising and smoothing one . Attention please:Cerave moisturising and cerave smoothing are two different things .
Moisturising don’t contain salicylic acid and smoothing does contain .Their tub are same size and looks alike ,but ingredients doesn’t .
Salicylic will sting and nigh cause more inflammation if wrk f applied and especially on the face .
So be very careful guys .
Smoothing can be use sparingly,even with my oily face it doesn’t clog pores .

Four stars because there should be a king of foil paper or plastic (like on yoghurt pot)to protect the cream .But it doesn’t have,once you open the lid ,it’s direct contact with the cream .

Feel good all round cream not to greasy or to perfume smell, just right.
Only slight issue went to reorder and price gone up quite a bit more, but will reorder again.
Best for my skin problems
I’ve tried every cream, lotion and potion on the market and this is one of the best. My hands become very dry and the skin thickens and splits: it’s painful, itchy, and very annoying! This is the best cream I’ve ever used and i recommend it to anyone with similar issues.

I bought from Amazon since I noticed prices have gone up everywhere. One concerning thing id mention is that the cream doesn’t have a second close lid inside. I open it and the cream is just there. A bit concerning since you never now who could’ve opened it and used it haha. But this is more of a feedback to Cerave.

Really works
Bought this because my face has lots of little dry patches, this has worked a treat, I would say that it’s a thicker lotion but it doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy, it absorbs nicely and leaves my skin soft to the touch, my only negative is that I wish it had SPF in, when I bought it I thought it was in there but I misread it. No fragrance to it, i have sensitive skin and ive had no issues and i use it daily. Large tube so will last a while, really good value for money, definitely recommended.
This cream is the absolute best! Its light weight, but also really nourishing! I only use Cerave. It was recommended to me by a dermatologist and they were not wrong! I also feel like once you apply the cream, the softness lasts for a really long time, you dont have to reapply frequently, which is great. Highly recommend!
Great for my hands and other skin but cause a bad reaction on my face. I use a lot of their range and have super sensitive skin.
They do have a separate face cream I think.

I have tried SO many hand creams and they are often disappointing (even the expensive ones). Cerave is excellent: reasonably priced, rich enough to only need a small amount, sinks in quickly so doesn’t make hands greasy, and IT WORKS.
I mainly use it for my hands but I’ve also used it on my legs, arms and elbows and it works brilliantly. I can even use it on my face for dry patches of skin, and it works really well without causing clogged pores.
Call off the search for a decent hand cream. Stick a tube of this in every handbag and a jar of it by the bed. Use it daily and dry, cracked, peeling hands will be a thing of the past.
