Silly purchase but i like i
I have a large selection of Corsair ICUE products
(lcd screen, keyboard, mouse mat, headset, pc case even my memory chips and water cooler are)
So i had to get this for the collection does look good and i might add another couple when budget allows,
but not sure its worth the money or needed at all more of a fun purchase
Nice, but not worth the money
These are nice, but way too expensive and I cannot seem to get the effect I was hoping for sadly. Also could be a bit brighter. Cheaper options available that probably offer the same if not better results.
Great Produc
The light towers are easy to setup and assemble. Had slight difficulty setting it up in iQUE as didn’t clearly mark which tower was which from my experience, but didn’t take too long and looks great.
Decorative - not funtional lighting
The pro’s
* Easy to setup
* Decent length of plug cable.
* very pretty if you arent using them for illumination but rather for decoration.
The cons
* Expensive for what they are.
* Unless close to the wall (or using a pair in one location) – unable to function as a backlight – does not put out enough light to be effective on darker wallpapers.
* Do not much out much white light if you intend on using as a desklight.
* Thick Ugly connection cables which cannot be hidden well.
* icue software is a pain in the backside to use and configure
They're Beautiful!
These lighting towers are brilliant. I don’t game but I love RGB keyboards etc. and these lights are fantastic. They have pre-programmed light effects and I selected one I already used for my Keyboard using iCue software. There is even a headset holder which can be used on either tower. In the dark, I have quite the spectacular computer set-up. If this sort of thing floats your boat, don’t hesitate, I’m over the moon with these!
let’s be clear these serve no practical purpose other than looking nice.
they come with a headphone bracket, but it’s at the back (not the side) of the towers so it’s a faff to get your headphones on and off so i didn’t bother with the bracket.
the build quality and brightness of lighting is awesome, so is the amount of control within the icue application.
assembly takes just minutes.
the best thing is the way you can make them sync with what’s on your screen so the colours match what’s on your display.
Beautiful lights, ugly cables
I love the lights, they look great (on and off), build quality is good and setup is quite easy, although could be simpler. My only gripe is that the cabling is ugly and seems like it could be a lot slicker for the cost.
Ottimo prodotto è di ottima fattura
Costano tanto vero ma sono uno spettacolo. Materiale di qualit e facilmente configurabili. Per gli appassionati di Setup da Gaming un must!
Very happy with purchase, add great atmosphere to my daily moods
Arguably overpriced for what they are but I feel they add a lot of value to my mood, photos attached was taken in the day so don’t give the full effect, they are much nicer in the dark! I have one facing the wall to give off a wall glow and one forward facing. Don’t tend to use the Icue settings as gets annoying having different effects, I tend to keep them on a static colour. Overall happy with purchase, no regrets paying what I did for them!
They will both work
I purchased these towers and encountered the exact same as many of the reviews here – one tower did not work.
Tried refreshing wired connections and the extension tower would still not work.
But a few minutes of playing gives you the answer, the iCue software needs to be refreshed – by clicking the Towers in the devices and selecting “Lighting Setup” you will be given the option to detect LEDs – run this and hey presto, the second tower works.
Once that’s done I love them – they fit right in with the ambience. While not quite as bright as I’d like the customisation through the software is immense.
Lovely, but not bight and expensive
Not bright enough to use as your light source, but they are very lovely, some of the patterns you can download are awesome and you can customise them yourself. If you have other corsair lighting it all works together perfectly. The leads are a little short so if you have two monitors you may struggle to place them either side. They are expensive for what you get, but quality is good. My first one arrived with only 1 light working but amazon sorted a replacement quickly.
Essential for any RBG enthusias
My first purchase had some dodgy LEDs in one of the base units but after a swift replacement, these are working perfectly.
You don’t actually need iCue to configure the lights for initial use – I started with these placed around my room for ambient lighting. But once connected to a PC, you can configure these in a huge variety of ways, right down to the individual LEDs in the units. If you’re familiar with Corsair’s ML/LL/QL series fans, it’s on a similar level of configuration. I was a bit sceptical about the video lighting option at first, but it had a surprisingly quick reaction time and was effective at resembling the colours of the on-screen image.
Although quite expensive for what they are, these are fantastic as both a PC accessory and as a standalone kit, so much so that I’ve now bought an additional two expansion packs (for a total of four towers) for more lighting effects.
You may have looked at desk lighting before and found those cheap reals which you can glue to the back of your monitor, under your desk, etc and thought that these lighting towers were a massive ripoff. Sure, they are expensive but once you have them on your desk set up how you like, they are absolutely stunning. When your PC is powered off, the lights can stay on and provide a beautiful light show with various different light modes. You can also stop them from doing this with the button on one of the bases.
Setting them up is simple. The two bases plug together, one of them being a main hub which connects to your computer. All you have to do is plug them in to your PC and download the latest version of iCUE to make sure they function properly. Mine were not working originally however it’s just because I hadn’t updated to the most recent version.
They provide a nice even glow and I think they provide just the right amount of light which is not too soft or too harsh. The colours are amazing and vibrant and make brilliant backlighting for your desk area.
The first thing I have to “complain” about is the versatility. They require an independent power supply and there’s also the RGB cable and the USB cable which can make your desk look cluttered, especially from a wiring standpoint. Furthermore, they are ludicrously expensive. 130 is a lot of money for this item. However, for me who has a Corsair K95 RGB Platinum keyboard, they do match with it perfectly and compliment my setup.
All in all they are absolutely awesome but I would imagine a lot of people will hold off on buying these based solely on the price.
