    Great power supply
Purchased this as I had trouble getting my new gpu tuff asus rx7900xt oc to fire up, make sure you use the gpu connectors that comes with the power supply as leads from another power supply will probably not work as I found out the hard way

    Solid powersupply
I love corsair and it’s what I expected.

Solid PSU, not much to really say. no issues with it, no complaints, nice cable options.

Solid power supply, just hope in the newer versions they will add a native 12pin cable for Nvidia.

    Works perfectly good
My nzxt pay died after 7-9 months without explanation so I replaced it with this and couldn’t be more happy first off there is a lot less noise from the fan, the cables that come with it are easy to install size fits perfectly into my case would recommend this produc

Great design if it fits into your case
This is an innovative design where depending on the design of your case it may make it much easier to plug and unplug the cables where there is more space under or above the power supply rather than behind it.
However in cases where the power supply slides into a slot you may find it won’t fit with cables plugged into it. However where it only screws to be back of the case and leaves the side exposed then it should be ok and may be easier to work with if you have limited space at the back of the power supply and it may provide more effective cable management.

Just what I needed, quiet, plenty of power, loads of cables
Got this to replace an older Corsair 550x PSU that is still working great but the fan had developed a slight tick that was annoying me, so far this one has been completely silent, was so easy to install being fully modular , couldn’t ask for more

    Cables let it dow
I have the 750 Watt version of this PSU and the cables are nicer and tidier on that cheaper model
The cables for the 24 pin power and the video card are a tangled mess.
And why in todays world of high powered video cards would they still continue with the 2 connectors on one cable nonsense.

    Worked as it should
I am not expert on PSUs but the one in my gaming PC died and I needed a replacement. I read some reviews and decided on this one. I was a bit worried because it is my first modular unit, but it was early to install. Lots of cables came with it, so I have quite a few left over (which I will probably loose). It came next day which was perfect.

So, easy to fit, quiet, flexible, well known make, what is not to like.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersExcellent choice at the right price
I recently upgraded my gaming rig with an Intel i7-14700KF processor and an RTX 3060 Ti graphics card, and I needed a power supply that could keep up with the demands of these high-performance components. The Corsair RM850x has proven to be the perfect choice.

First and foremost, the fully modular design of this power supply has made cable management a breeze. The ability to only use the cables I need not only keeps the inside of my case tidy but also improves airflow for better overall system performance. Having 3x 8 pin CPU ports is also a nice-to-have, in case I decide to upgrade my motherboard and or CPU at any point.

In my opinion, it’s very important to purchase a power supply from a reputable brand, known for producing solid power supplies, to ensure that the expensive components you are powering, stay safe, and get the power they need. Investing in a good branded power supply should also help it outlast the other components’ lifespan.

Running on an Intel i7-14700KF and an RTX 3060 Ti, power efficiency is crucial, and the RM850x with its 80 PLUS Gold certification does not disappoint. It efficiently delivers power to my components, ensuring stable and reliable performance during intense gaming sessions and demanding tasks. Both components have also been overclocked, and the RM850x doesn’t break a sweat.

The 850 watts of power is more than sufficient for my setup, providing headroom for any potential future upgrades. The power supply operates quietly, and the Zero RPM fan mode ensures that the fan only spins up when needed, keeping noise levels down during lighter loads.

Corsair’s attention to build quality is evident in the sturdy construction of the RM850x. The components feel durable, and the unit itself exudes reliability. This power supply comes with a 10-year warranty, offering peace of mind and showcasing Corsair’s confidence in the longevity of their product.

In conclusion, the Corsair RM850x 80 PLUS Gold Fully Modular ATX 850 Watt Power Supply is an excellent choice, at the right price. I am certain it’s going to last me 10+ years.

Perfect PSU, replaced with the RMe Series
I highly recommend the RMx series over the RMe series. The RMx is completely silent in Idle and during load. In comparison to the RMe it has terrible coil whine during idle and sometimes it would disappear during load but be back again when idle. I wish I had done some research before purchasing the RMe and even getting a replacement which had the same issue.

    Perfect for your PC
I bought this whilst building my first PC, it was extremely easy to set up, came with all of the cables (and more) that were needed.

It was very easy to set up due to everything being labeled, it is very quiet and efficient. If you are in need of a powerful power supply I would recommend this product!

    Great quality product!
When building a PC for gaming you should spend a decent amount on a quality power supply.
Some people buy a cheap PSU then after the build have problems with then diagnosing what is wrong.

With my build i could have gone for 750w but for the sake of another 10 i thought i would get the 850w.

It looks like a high quality product. Comes with all the power cables you need for your build.

Having all of the plugs on the side is a simple concept but helps alot for visibilty when building.

Hoping it lasts a long time

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersGreat affordable A grade 1200w Power Supply
I purchased this power supply after spending a week reviewing numerous power supplies online. This PSU is listed as a tier A high end power supply on cultist reviews

I had recently upgraded my GPU to a 7900xtx and my Seasonic prime 850w could no longer handle the power demands put upon it so needed to upgrade.

Due to supply shortages and high prices in the UK currently I decided to go for a cheaper option and so far I am glad I chose this power supply.

My first choice would have been a platinum or titanium rated Seasonic supply but this gold rated supply from Corsair is still impressive for the price.

Another benefit this PSU has is that it supports the new ATX 3.0 standard and comes with the new 12vhpc cable for when I need to upgrade my current GPU. The unit also comes with enough PCIe cables for any GPU requirement. Mine uses 3x cables. You get 6x cables total with 2x being able to daisy chain with but I don’t recommend you do that and instead use the 4x single 6/8pin cables instead.

The unit fits nicely into my PC case without issue however my case is very large. It’s a cooler master cosmos s2 case. Had this awesome case for nearly a decade now.

I am very happy with the build quality and the unit is extremely quiet with my PC under full load.

I would highly recommend this power supply if your on a budget but you do need to make sure it will fit in your case first as cables are on the side of the unit.

    Another Great Produc
I didn’t expect anything less than an exceptional product from Corsair. No 1 for memory and PSU’s for me
I did have a 750 watt HX750 PSU still working perfectly from previous build /system which was working perfectly after more than 10 years but my new PC build looked to need a little more power to be safe so went with this RM850x SHIFT from Corsair. Wow! this new shift layout of side connections instead of the conventional rear of PSU is perfect, specially in my new Lian Li 011 D Evo which makes cabling even more easy and neat, I didn’t need the Drive Tray above the location for PSU in the case so this shift PSU from Corsair fits beautifully in this Cases layout and is near to SILENT in operation
10/10 to Corsair for another great solid built product

10/10 to Amazon for speedy service as per usual

    Corsair did it agai
First thing first make sure there is enough space for the cables as there side mounted. Corsair website shows some cases that are 3rd party compatible most Corsair cases work again just check the Corsair website. Excellent value for money 1200w is overkill but will last years.

    Convenient design, mediocre cables
Putting the cables on the side makes a lot of sense (if your case is wide enough, I did my research beforehand, so should you). The cables are quite stiff and not sleeved, which makes certain cables a bit scary due to single cables which i assume are for sensors being loose and strained. The 12VHPWR cable is too short, a wide case is likely going to be tall too, I had to do strain mine a bit more than is comfortable to plug it in, I would not keep it that way long-term.

Overall tho, great PSU and rates high in tests.

Great power supply - be careful your case is suitable
Excellent and quite power supply. Comes with ample cable selection and totally modular. I, unfortunately, was using it for a micro atx case without sufficient clearance for the cables to sit comfortably into the PSU. My mistake and not that of the PSU or seller but just a word of warning for others.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Users12VHPWR support, easy to install, just make sure your case has the width
I used it in Fractal Pop Air mini, while it fit and was easier to manage ports on the side, I can see that might be an issue if you have a slightly narrower case.

Having a direct 12VHPWR adapter for my RTX4080 is a relief rather than depending on an adapter. Can replace the cables for a Cablemod set later down the line as the current cables are not plastic, but I’m really happy with it.

    Great Upgrade
    Pros:

Power Capacity: With its 1000 Watt capacity, the RM1000x offers more than enough power to handle high-end components like the RX 7900 XTX graphics card and other power-hungry components. This ensures stable and efficient power delivery even during demanding tasks or gaming sessions.

Efficiency: The 80 PLUS Gold certification indicates that the power supply is highly efficient, converting more power from the wall outlet into usable power for your PC components. This can help reduce electricity costs and waste heat, keeping your system running cooler.

Fully Modular Design: The fully modular design allows you to connect only the cables you need, minimizing cable clutter inside your case. This not only improves airflow but also makes cable management easier during the build process.

Build Quality: Corsair is well-known for producing high-quality PC components, and the RM1000x is no exception. The power supply is built with premium components, which contribute to its overall reliability and longevity.

Quiet Operation: The RM1000x features a Zero RPM fan mode, which means the fan won’t spin at low to moderate loads, resulting in quieter operation. This is especially beneficial during light computing tasks or when the system is idle.

Overcurrent and Overvoltage Protection: Corsair equips the RM1000x with multiple safety features, such as overcurrent and overvoltage protection, to safeguard your components against power fluctuations and potential damage.

    Cons:

Price: The RM1000x is positioned as a high-end power supply, and the fully modular design and high wattage capacity can make it relatively expensive compared to lower-end models. However, the extra cost is often justified by the added benefits and build quality.

Overkill for Some Setups: Unless you are running a very power-hungry system with multiple high-end components or are planning to upgrade further in the future, the 1000 Watt capacity might be overkill for some users. A lower wattage model could be more cost-effective for more modest setups.

Overall, the Corsair RM1000x is an excellent choice for enthusiasts and gamers who demand a robust, high-performance power supply to support their powerful components. It’s efficient, reliable, and has a modular design, making it a top-tier option for those willing to invest in quality hardware. However, if you don’t require the full 1000 Watt capacity, you might consider looking at other options within Corsair’s lineup that suit your specific power needs and budget.

    Mysterious fault solved
I purchased the corsair power supply as it is a high end unit which does what it says on the tin,
I had a mysterious fault with my PC where the unit was cutting out when certain programs were loading up heavy graphics, it turned out that my original power supply was not able to respond to the power demand thus causing this anonymous cut out fault.
In my experience Corsair produce outstanding product which is highly durable.

    Reliable and quie
No problems so far, perfectly reliable, but you need to be sure about your case’s internal width. If this was a few millimetres narrower I wouldn’t have had to chop out some of the sound deadening material from my case. The cables are still being pressed against the side a bit too much for my liking, but it seems OK.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHigh Quality Power Supply
    The Good:
Power supply is study and very well built so when plugging a mains cable into it it doesn’t bend or pull on the psu. It comes with a range of different cables with different variations for different pieces of hardware. Having the connectors on the side is a lot better for most atx cases (might not be compatible with some cases due to clearance) as bigger psus don’t give a lot of room for hard drive cages and also it improves installation when plugging in the cables you need. The noise level from this power supply isn’t bad as the fans are very quiet.

    The Bad:
Even though this is a very good power supply the only issues I have with it are the cables that come with it are not sleeved and the pcie connector (2+6 pin) the two pin is bridged from the 6 pin showing that costs were cut on the wires. My complaint about the cables not being sleeved is because it makes the cables look cheaper and more likely to get damaged. A lot of cheaper power supplies even have sleeved cables even if they are the mustard and ketchup colours.

Unique side output makes cable management easie
Installed this into my Sharkoon TG5 RGB Case and it fits perfectly, and lets me route cables a lot nicer than the previous power supply I had, powering a 5800X3D and a 5700XT it’s not exactly using all 850w but it’s nice to have the preparation for a more power hungry card. Haven’t done too much testing but I currently can’t hear any coil whine which is another nice improvement over my last PSU. Overall, a recommend if your case will accommodate it.

The connections are on the side, it’s not a deal breaker but does mean you need a reasonably wide case , and an opening to the PSU behind the motherboard backplate

    Wires A Bit Stiff
Great item in general and fits may case and PC well (AMD 9750x and GTX1070).
My only complaint was that the wires are quite stiff and fitting the side case onto the case required some careful management and use of a hair drier to help smooth out bends.

    Solid PSU
I received the package damaged which is seen in the pictures but everything inside seems to be fine, I will install this unit and see if it works but it looks good there are a lot of cables but since it’s a fully modular power supply it should be easy to install. I would say you should probably get it from a different seller and when it’s on discount but it’s good value either way.

Absolutely solid PSU, just ensure you have space.
While there isn’t a whole lot to say about a power supply, it is absolutely solid. The modular cables are a godsend, saves all the clutter when trying to cable manage. Speaking of wires, there are PLENTY of modular cables included for all your needs, Corsair is very generous with them. The construction is pretty nice too, doesn’t feel cheap or tacky which is what you would expect from a high-end Corsair product. The “Zero RPM” fan is also an excellent addition, the fan won’t spin up for a while until you start running 3D applications, i.e. games, heavy loads, etc.

My only minor complaint is due to the size of the unit and my mid-tower case, I have had to remove the case hard disk cage to fit my cables, and I have lost 3TB of hard drive storage as a result. This is a very minor problem for me as I am trying to phase them out of my system in favor of SSDs.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersPowers my new pc with good cable management capabilities
    Pros:
    1. Fully modular so dont have to worry about excess cables clogging up the case
    2. can support large graphics cards with high power needs Eg: my 3080 needing nearly 500W at times.
    3. silent fan mode meaning the fan wont spin under low use leading to a quiter pc overall despite output.
    4. easy install, as with most PSU 3 or so screws in the back and your sorted
    5. Plenty of outputs for many devices/ hungry cards etc

    Cons:
    1. All PCIE cables are daisy chained/ pigtail cables, there is some debate whether these are safe/ ok to use when a card needs 2×8 pin PCIE but the general advice is to use 1 cable per 8 pin slot leading to the second pigtail/ daisy chain dangling in the case. Not that bad but not perfect if you want an incredibly clean pc.
    2. the labelling on the back of the psu is good but a little confusion between which of the ports is sata and which is pcie
    3. sata power cables are daisy chained, not bad for power consumption etc but leads to some strange cable management in the rear of the case HOWEVER this can be a pro , the daisy chained cables are almost perfect length to have 2 HDD in the bays with the cleanest cable management ive seen out of the box. SSD not so much so its a give and take point.

All in all, id’ definatly buy it again and its good value for money
