Wow. Works very well with my bass guitar and classic guitar as well. Very bright display. Quick and accurate tuning. I searched a lot and compare a lot other options. This one is the best choice

5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate, small and brigh

I have a couple of earlier versions of this. This is an improvement. On a Fender headstock, I often had to play a harmonic to register a response on the 5th and 6th strings. This is much more responsive. I hope battery life is not adversely impacted but time will tell.

Well I read the reviews and was worried about the battery life but needn’t have been concerned.
It works as it should. The first 2 weeks of use I kept replacing the plastic strip to ensure it didn’t discharge. This quickly became tedious and for a month now has been without and still works.
I’ll update if anything goes wrong.

This is the tuner that I recommend to my fiddle playing pupils. Best left on the violin all the time, which means you have to be happy to do that. See pics. It’s very easy to use, once you get the hang of it and works well in noisy environments as it works through vibration rather than sound. Great for music groups, sessions and classrooms. Can sometimes cause a bit of buzzing, but easyly fixed by a small adjustment or tightening. Can even be used to check intonation while playing scales. The display is clear, though small, but that’s fine as it’s only a few inches from your eyes.

5.0 out of 5 stars My recommended violin tune

Tiny tuner that works every time. I never take it off my ukelele as it is so unobtrusive.
So glad I bought this as its much better than the one that came with my instrument.
    Highly recommended by me.

I bought the clip on version over the screw version, as I wasn’t brave enough to mess around with the tuning pegs on a very old guitar, but the clip on version is just perfect. It’s very discreet, yet very easy to read and operate, and the size means it can stay on the guitar in transit without problem. Works equally well in noisy rehearsal studio as it does in a quiet room.

Does what it says on the tin: I had the older one (now relegated to another instrument – still very useful) and upgraded to the multi-coloured one which grips the headstock a little more reliably, displays at more angles, is easier to read, and also has a faster response time. Given what you’ve already spent on your instrument(s) and associated gadgetry, adding this is a no-brainer. If you’re a performer, it’s hard for the audience to notice it – and if you’re worried about that, just slip it in your pocket OK, it should ideally sell for less, but hey, it’s still pretty good value for money…

This tuner is compact and accurate. Although the display is small it is clear enough to see even with my dodgy eyesight. My only concern is: will it be robust enough to withstand the rigours of live performance? Only time will tell.

I use these tuners for my bass guitars. They are accurate and work very well for my bass instruments. I never take them off as they are so small and discreet. The letters are easy to see, and can be viewed from different angles. Purchased one as a gift for a friend who plays mandolin and is he is delighted with the ease of use and the size of the tuner. I have been using mine for over 6 months and have not had to change the battery yet. Would highly recommend this tuner to fellow musicians.

I hope the photos show just how small this clip on tuner is – it’s lower than my Classical Guitar Tuning pegs .. so, it’s barely noticeable and I can leave it on permanently even when I store my guitar in it’s case.

It is a ratchet close and not a spring clip – so no chance of the clip snapping (as happened on my previous spring clip tuner – hence why I tried this one this time.)

It works well and the 360 swivel head and 4 way display adjustment means you can have this on the front or rear of the headstock and angle the display almost any way you like & it should work for left or right handed players.

I felt I had to write this as it’s a terrifically small and useful gadget, and it is accurate on my Cordoba classical – I cannot comment on its performance on other types of guitar, but it’s perfect for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very small and works well

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhy do I need a digital tuner? I’ve been tuning my guitars by ear for 25+ years and I have the Fender Tune app on my phone just for reference purposes.

Well,I figured a decent digital tuner would be ideal for setting up my intonation more than basic tuning as my collection of guitars has been ever expanding over 2020.

So i bought one of these little fellows ,for 14 quid you can’t go to wrong,I figured.

Little is right.I don’t know why but when I opened up the package and sawe the size of it I couldn’t get over how small it is.Of course, that’s exactly the point, the size.It clips on perfectly to the headstock, see photos and with it’s really well made ratchet system stays there aswell.

The angle can be set to however you want it aswell as the display so it’s always upright no matter what orientation you have it at.The display is wonderfull clear and bright aswell as telling you just exactly what you need to know.

As for accurate, well I’ve only checked it against ther Fender app on my phone but they agree on when my string is properly in tune so that suggests accurate to me.It also coincides with my ear aswell so I’m good with that.

Such a useful little gadget I’ll be buying a bunch more after xmas to fit to some of my other guitars.

For the price, size and functionality I think these are pretty hard to beat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much more handy than I thought.

It is probably worth thinking of this by comparing it to other options. Personally, this is the third type of tuner I have had – and it is by far the best. I have previously had those tuners attached to crocodile clips with a ball and socket joint. Sooner or later you knock the guitar on a wall, another musician, or something else and they just come to bits. You can put them back together, but it just makes them weaker until you have two separate pieces that won’t go back together without glue.

This on the other hand is a well thought-out design – both robust and easy to use. It clamps onto the guitar in the least obtrusive and best place (on the headstock, with the readout behind the guitar, next to the nut and under the strings). It is easy to see, yet small. It is robust, but out of the way of all the likely places where it would get knocks. In fact the only person who can see it is the guitarist, so it does not ruin the looks of the guitar either.

In terms of use – it is very simple. You turn it on and the tuning lights move above and below the note as you tune. Once the light has settled evenly either side of the note, you are in tune. I am really pleased with this and I am getting a few more for various other guitars in my collection.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAs someone with ‘more than enough’ stringed instruments, I have tried many sorts of tuner. A foot pedal tuner (the BOSS TU-3) is great for total accuracy and is what I use in a live gig situation. But obviously that needs to be used on an electric instrument (not all of mine are) and you need to dig it out, gather leads together plug it all in etc – which when playing at home isn’t necessarily that convenient. So I like to have clip on tuners on my instruments – I can just pick them up, check they are as much in tune as I need and play. Of course there are many different clip on tuners – and many of them are a lot cheaper than these (or their predecessor model). So – never wanting to spend money unless I have to! – I have tried quite a few of the others. Of them, the Snark seems to be about as accurate as this sort, but boy, is it ugly! Not to mention fragile. Many of the cheaper auction site no-name imports are either inaccurate or won’t pick up various strings (low E on a bass guitar and A on a ukulele seeming to be most problematic) – the Planet Waves picks both up without trouble. Also, because of it way it clips on and the changeable display, you can have it on the back of your (guitar, bass, uke) headstock – which is far neater and looks far more professional!
So I’d recommend these over the other brands of clip on tuners I have tried, and will be buying another one when the next instrument turns up!

These things are tiny, so tiny in fact that you can pretty much leave it on your guitar all the time. I checked the tuning against other clip-on tuners and devices and it’s pretty much spot no matter what position on the headstock it’s placed. It’s small enough to almost go almost unnoticed when fitted to the back of the headstock too. They are a little flimsy however, and not the most robust of tuners, but this is largely down to their very diminutive size.

The reaction time I found quite adequate and the simple coloured display is easy to see although not the brightest. The only thing I’d be a little bit wary of is the way it fits on the headstock, which is achieved with a very small push-in clamp. This seems to have preset positions so you have to choose one that is closest to you headstock thickness then push it on. If you headstock is an unusual thickness, not perfectly flat, or has a chamfered edge this may not fit properly. It’s also better to choose a setting slightly smaller than your neck thickness then push it on more firmly. If its not in good contact with the neck it won’t pick up the harmonics properly and work correctly so take some time to get a good fit. This works really well on Strat type head stocks where it can be fitted just above he nut, but on my Gibson 339 and Les Paul it had to be fitted to the end of the end stock. It’s stayed in placed even when placing and removing the guitar from the case but wouldn’t take much of a knock to remove it and its small enough to be easily lost. It’s not suitable for gigging, but for home use its great. I’ve ordered a couple more so I can leave one on each guitar.
