Pleasantly surprised that these do in fact operate fairly quietly. Speed is a tradeoff, but I will be using some gear or other mechanism to offset that. Will update my review once my build is complete with a video.

The linear actuator was packed well on arrival. The quality is excellent. The poles are very thick and sturdy. The wires are easy to connect ( I did get someone to do it for me). Also the brackets were supplied so it made mounting it very easy. Good value for money.
Have to set the tent in the back garden for kids to play in the summer season to make shade for them so that they have something to play outside.
These poles were very easy to put together not many tools were needed because of the simple design.
Poles are not thin well made and thick materials have been used. So they were able to keep the tent stable successfully.
Poles can be used for caravan headroom and canopy porch and many other purposes too.
So far all is good even in the strong wind poles that were able to hold the tent successfully. Very happy with my purchase.

Made from quality premium materials, this linear activator from DasMorine is tough and rugged and very strong. A simple test placed between two concrete blocks had no trouble at all pushing the two blocks apart, I do not doubt that it can lift the 598kg as claimed. It has a multitude of uses wherever you need to lift, move, slide or fold anything. It is quite slow, taking about a minute to fully extend or retract but it is very powerful as well as being smooth and quiet. There are two built-in limit switches (not adjustable) which stop the arm movement at both maximum and minimum extent. The two-core cable is marked brown and blue but this does not represent polarity, simply reversing the connection to your power source changes the direction of movement. So a simple control device could just be a basic crossover switch or you could use a more intelligent electronic controller perhaps with a remote control. I have utilised this on our super-king ottoman bed, my wife struggled to lift the heavy ottoman lid (especially with the mattress etc on top). But with a quick modification using this actuator, a push-button crossover switch and a suitable 12v 5a power supply and now it’s just a push of the button and it takes about a minute to silently open or close with no effort on her part at all.
Very surprised how good this is, little better than my previous one. Reclining chair motor had packed in and kept dying. Within 10 minutes I had the old one of and new one back in its place. It’s a little slower than the old one but able to lift the chair while I’m sitting on it which the old motor struggled with. Great value for money and very good quality. Very happy with this.
I ordered this to use on a glass wall cupboard that I have as the lift up doors are pretty heavy so I thought that an electric option would make things much easier.
On opening, this unit was far larger and very much heavier than I had anticipated so in the end I couldn’t use it as I wanted. I’m still at a loss for what I will use it for but I’m sure than I will come up with something suitable for such a robust unit as this.
That said, this device really is a very solid piece of engineering and is built to a hight specification, the motor assembly alone feels like it could power the doors on an aircraft, lol. The entire assembly with the built in ram wouldn’t look out of place on a bulldozer, it really is built that rigidly.
I’m looking forwards to coming up with a good project that will include this unit and will update this review as and when I do.

This actuator does what it says on the tin.
It came well packed and included a mounting bracket and some screws.
It is very, very solid and is well engineered. The 6000N power is not to be messed with.

Got 14 inch linear actuators. It is high strong quality. It is very heavy and long. It is very slow and powerful to lift the bed. It is easy to install and easy to use. Works well. It doesn’t make noise which it is quiet. It comes with mounting brackets.
Anyone looking at this is probably the kind of person who watches YouTube videos of makers creating cools stuff or doing something epic in their workshop. I certainly am. I also have the advantage of being an engineer as well as having a workshop and thus my next project which is to build a new large workshop fully kitted out is also going to have some lifts for small bench machinery.
And along came this to review so happy days because I was looking at hydraulics but now I’ll probably use electric actuators to save on mess and make control easier.
So, for not much money you get a 12″ or 300mm stroke actuator that can lift around 600kg which, is more than enough for anything I’d use this on. To be honest it might lift that but 600kg is a fair amount and I’d probably go for something beefier and double up for safety. However, I reckon this would do that number.
This is a 12V DC actuator thus you need a 12V DC supply which is most likely to be a battery. In fact this is probably the cheapest way to do it if you are on a budget. Get a cheap battery and charger which will give you plenty of amps – although this only pulls around 5A max. You can of course get a suitable power supply but that’s likely to be more expensive and complicated.
Cables come marked blue and brown same as UK 220v wiring for negative and positive. This is misleading because it’s DC and it’s driven both ways so you need to swap polarities. I used a battery for test purposes and simply changed the cables over but when made up properly I’ll use a three position hold over switch that move one way for up and one way for down and on release springs back to the middle off position.
The time to raise or lower minus a load is 1min 12sec so slow enough to not get caught out in the way of it. That doesn’t mean you can be blas because 600N of force is enough to easily hurt or worse.
Comes with mounting brackets so easily fitted into your project.
It’s well enough made for ‘maker’ use although it’s not a heavy duty industrial job.
For the money, this is a great bit of kit.
This is a 12V, 5A linear actuator with an extension measuring almost 14 inches. When extended, the whole device is over 34 inches in length. It is a two-wire system, so there is limit switching included to stop the actuator at full travel in any direction but no position control via a built-in pot. The actuator cannot be turned into a linear servo without this. Internal gearing for the screw is at the bottom with the motor. The actuator will automatically shut off at full or minimum extension. I ran it from a 25A power supply, but a lesser one will suffice.
This actuator is one of the strongest I have experienced recently. When operating, I couldn’t get it to stall, and the mechanism worked smoothly and without any excess noise that I could detect. In fact, most of the sound comes from the gearing and extension mechanism, with the motor being very quiet indeed.
The kit comes with mounting hardware consisting of brackets and pins, complete with split pins. The brackets are made of steel and are substantial enough for the job, although the mounts on the actuator are quite substantial. I could easily see this unit opening a large garage door with ease. Of course, you have to pick your application carefully, as the gearing means that the mechanism opens quite slowly. Although the product information mentions that it is quite quick compared to others on the market, in my experience, the speed is comparable or slower. In terms of noise, it was on average about on specification, with 48 dB claimed. It was a little noisier at full extension.
The unit is only rated to IP44, and this is obvious with the various gaps around the motor housing that would not keep the elements out for long. I could see this being used in a large enclosure, however.
Retracted between mounting centres, the measurement was 52 cm, or 21.5 inches. The total extended length is 87 cm, or 34.25 inches, giving a throw of 35cm. The duty cycle is 20%, so given the throw of 350mm in either direction and the speed of 4.5 mm/sec, the extension process takes 77.7 seconds. You will need to leave the actuator to rest for 311 seconds between reversing directions, or for a full open and close, over 10 minutes of rest. This is the minimum to achieve a 20% duty cycle, and it is always best not to push these to their limits. This is quite long for an actuator of this size, and I have used other 20% duty cycle actuators that are over twice as fast with a resultant quicker cooldown between cycles. They did not have quite as powerful gearing as this one, though.
I got this linear actuator to move a sliding chequer plate tray in and out of my Ifor Williams box trailer. It carries my mobility scooter in and out of its storage locker which keeps it clean, safe and secure when being towed behind my motorhome. It does it effortlessly and never misses a beat. I’m extremely impressed.
The build quality is good. It has plastic casing around the motor gears and a plastic cap on the extending end of the actuator but the main shaft and casing is made of metal so it feels nice and sturdy. The base of the linear actuator has a metal mounting point and it also comes with two metal mounting brackets.
It takes a minute or two to fully extend so it isn’t fast but it is very powerful. it’s designed for things like electric wheelchairs and electric sofas so it makes sense that it isn’t fast.
I have a couple of projects in mind that I want to use it for, either a system to raise and lower my screen behind my desk or a powered car creeper that raises up into a stool. I have tested it and it has plenty of power for either project. I just can’t decide which one I want to make first.
Overall it works great and I am very happy with it.
The actuator itself is brilliant, however the brackets that are supplied are useless, they are like butter no strength in them at all. I’d still buy again and plan to do so, but would mount using homemade brackets instead
This is a great versatile actuator in my opinion. You can mount it to pretty much anything and use it to push pretty much anything! It’s easy to use although you do need to supply your own transformer and do a quick easy bit of wiring.
Overall, I think it’s great if it matches your purpose and would recommend it!
This is surprisingly powerful and can push or pull a substantial amount of weight.
It runs off 12V DC so can be used off a car battery, otherwise it needs a transformer, couple that with a rocker switch and the possibilities are almost endless.
I wouldn’t describe it as quiet, you wouldn’t want to use it while people were asleep nearby, but it’s not overly loud either.
Used for unintended purposes.
Having used this for a DIY automated duck house door, that opens at sunrise each morning to release my ducks from their coop, I can say this ram is powerful and versatile!
As the title of my review suggest this is an excellent product, and it is quite close to being perfect. To start on the negative point and I must stress it’s the only negative point I have to say about this product, so that is the actual speed that it operates because it is quite slow.
Anyway enough of the negatives lets move onto the positives. It’s pushing power really is excellent, as it’s capable of pushing up to 600 kg. To put this into the real world, the world’s strongest man can’t even push this hard! It comes with a mounting bracket, so this makes installation very easy and you won’t need to go out and get any further parts.

Comes pre wired, and includes 2 brackets, locking pins and split pins to secure each end.
18″ actuation which operates smoothly and precisely from a 12v supply.

Got this driving a window in the a green to control the heat.
Its 2.3amp and I’ve wired a normally 12v plug to the end, the type that’s used in CCTV’s.
I’ve even gone a step further and put on a sonoff plug and its now wifi controlled.
Everything needed apart from the transformer is included. Mounts are well made and I didn’t need to make any modifications.
Our sofa if a 2 piece with a single reclining chair using manual operation. I ordered this product so that I also upgrade the chair to a powered recline solution.
The product is incredibly sturdy and the instructions are also very well scripted. However each recliner is different to i also found a product video and a chair that was very similar to ours. It didnt take me long, within a couple of hours I had implemented the actuator. When installing it is absolutely vital that the brackets are lined of perfectly as instructed otherwise the recliner wont close all the way I had to set it further back by another inch but I spotted the alignment issue early and rectified it.
I am pleased to say that I have fully implemented this device I also use the battery as well so I have no trailing wires. It seems the product is also very versatile because I also considered a number of other uses. Recommended and great result.

You’ll need some electrical knowledge to get this going as it comes with bare wire rather than any actual power supply.
Once set up, it’s a smartly made unit that can support quite a load, despite taking a lengthy time to do so.
So this comes well packed with some extra mount fittings.
The wiring is simple, its just a positive and negative wires. But these dont really matter as you can run power in either direction to control the motor direction.
I wired this up with an arduino and a 12v motor driver but you can just run power from 3v to 12v directly through the actuator.
There is no need for speed controls with this, it moves very slowly, it takes a full 2 mins to fully extend when using 12v @ 3 amps.
The would be good for a recliner, bed, gate or some DIY project like a hidden tv ect..
it can lift quite abit of weight so as long as what you are moving is supported and doesnt put more than 6000N load on the motor, it will be fine

The following is a review of the DasMorine DC 12V 12 Inch Stroke Linear Actuator. It arrived in a plain cardboard box together with specifications list plus fixing brackets, pins and retaining spilt pins – there are no switches etc included, its just the basic unit. To say it’s robustly built would be an understatement of sorts! – this is really well made with a quoted 6000N (1320pounds) maximum load capacity. It uses 12 volts for its power and so makes it versatile but in this instance, as pointed out in the specifications, this model is strictly for indoor use only. There are built-in limit switches so it can’t ‘get out of control’ so to speak. I am going to use this to convert a manually operated relining chair to a power model, with a few extra parts such as switches etc, plus ideas from YouTube to help (or inspire) as the partially disabled owner presently cannot operate it himself unaided. Overall this is a well made, powerful and affordable unit that has so many uses.
I gave this a quick test running it from a 12 volt battery, and it lifted my workbench, with a lot of tools on it with ease.
Rated to push 1320LB, and pull nearly 900LB, it will be replacing the now defunct unit in my chair, and as you will see in one of the the pictures alongside the old one, a little longer, but easy to mod the chair.
It is very well made, and in my tests was virtually silent, and unlike the one fitted to my chair, the drive rod is totally enclosed.
If you something heavy pulling or pushed, you would not go wrong with this, at a pretty amazing price.
Four of these have been used in projects that took place outside. They have endured and are extremely durable. They will be extremely strong and run consistently if the appropriate wire gauge is connected to them.
To keep rain out of the motors, I printed covers for them using 3D printing. Although it ensures their flawless operation, I’m not entirely sure it required them.
I purchased two of these to build a standing desk myself. Even with two of them, it doesn’t sound too bad and works quite well. The only drawback is that it is slow, but this is expected because these things don’t go up quickly. Two of these 55 seconds are needed to lift my desk. The weight of my desk is probably around 100 pounds.
Since I turned on this actuator, I haven’t had a single problem. It runs on time every night and morning. Although there is some noise, I’m pretty sure the chickens don’t seem to mind. This was too much for a chicken door, but it was a fun project that was worth the time and money. I would buy this again without a doubt for any future project. There are numerous length options, and the actuator performs as advertised once I figured out the relay and power.

Only bench tested this so far, but it appears to be really good.
Okay it’s not the fastest thing in the world, but it is very strong and quiet.
The eventual plan is to have an opening rooflight in my workshop and I have no doubts that this will power it nicely.
I have a 12v solar system in the workshop to power it, and the instructions are clear. Should be a doddle.
So far I have only been able to test this out on the workbench as (I am still a way off from completing my project). But that being said the actuator works really well, I am so impressed with the strength and how quiet it is. As its its only 12v and 3A I am planning to operate using a zwave relay, which on the workbench is working perfectly. This will allow me to trigger the motor both by home automation, smart home products and even my mobile.

This is a good product, it feels powerful, i.e. it’s hard to fight it from pushing or pulling will just keep going.
The strength however have a slight downside, whereas the product is slow, as shown on the video it works well, has all sensors required, but overall slow.
This product would work extremely well for window closing/opening and automated systems, it draws just about 1AMP as shown, and it feels powerful.
It comes in with the fittings which would secure it into another object.
For home automation this would be fantastic, mainly because it’s very quiet

This actuator is first and foremost very powerful, slightly overkill for the application I have in mind for it but always best to have more power than you need than not enough.
The actuator itself is well constructed, comes with a fitting kit consisting of brackets and pins to mount it and a cable to connect to the switching power supply required to allow it to be motored in and out by reversing the polarity across the input wires.
A couple of points to keep in mind if you’re looking to buy this, first of all it’s the non adjustable type, if you need to stop it at a certain distance a limit switch will have to be connected at the appropriate length. Secondly, this is a very slow rate of travel actuator, as is usually the case with high powered types so something to bear in mind for whatever application you require it for.
I will be using it to fit to a trailer ramp for motorcycles for which it should work more than adequately especially being a 12V system which is ideal for connecting to vehicle electrics, I’m sure there are many more jobs this would be suitable for and I’ll definitely be thinking up some more projects for these in future.
