Sturdy key safe
Took me a few minutes to figure out how to set the code. There is a QR code linking to a video but its more about how to screw to a wall than set the code.
There are arrows on the back of each button which you point down for enabled digit or up for ignored digit. These arrows are not easy to see hence takes a minute or two to figure it all out.
Anyway, seemingly sturdy key safe.
Waterproof flap that covers the box which should help to minimise corrosion.
My last one had a combination lock but became increasingly difficult to rotate numbers so hope this push button type will last longer.
Not as easy as I though
It came with thunderbolts that I had no clue how to put in
Luckily my friend gave me 4 smaller screws to use instead. It didn’t come with them as an alternative.
But it looks good
Nice compact size. Has one clip to hold a key. Has a soft rubbery cover to keep out the rain. Code easy to set. 2 long security screws included but can be fixed with 4 smaller screws (not included) if preferred.
Very clear instructions included on how to set up and operate the key safe.
Keep a key safe
Chose this product because it was compact and I only wanted to store one key.
Arrived on time and was very easy to install.
There is a clip on the back of the lock in which you clip your key.
Any key longer than 6 or 7 cms probably won’t fit.
Storm cover over the key lock finishes it off nicely.
Would absolutely recommend this product.
Pleasingly compact, sturdily made and with effective rubber black shroud (reduces visual impact and keeps water out). Key pad is quite small so care required when pressing buttons. Easy to set a new code (4 to 6 digit). Buttons can lock but the reset button sorts this. Easy to mount with hex headed thunder bolts supplied. Key safe itself is quite small (function of overall size of item) so it won’t take long shafted keys. Typical door keys (Yale type) no problem. Recommended.
Small and no hinge
Was smaller than expected but dimensions are as described. There is no hinge so the chunky front comes off and the keys are hanging on it on a dog clip. You could leave the keys on the front and open the door. The good feature is it has press buttons not difficult to rotate dials. That means you can press the code numbers in in any sequence which is easier but also easier for someone to crack the code.
Measure your keys.
Product is excellent and easy to install.
I had one problem. My deadlock key was too big to fit in the safe. This was my fault I should have measured the key.
The locksmith had to grind 5mm,off the key, before it would fit. Everyone happy now.
Safe and secure. Pin access not easily guessed or accessed
Purchased for carer access. Simple enough to install. The plastic covers for screws to go in didn’t fit well, but luckily I had back up ones. They are easy enough to purchase in any hardware store too. So far no issues at all, although it is a very recent purchase
On the plus side this product is easy to install and appears well made. On the downside the weather cover seems a bit flimsy – too early to tell how well it protects the keypad as only just installed. A bigger concern is that the lock digits/pin are simply set by ‘turning them on’ – the actual order you click the buttons doesn’t matter which seems to drastically reduce the actual security of the device.
Small key safe so unobtrusive
A good little key safe, I only needed one that could take 1 key, so this was ideal, although it would take 3-4 Yale sized keys on the same keyring. It comes with 4 x screws and raw plugs as well as 2 x longer masonry screws. There are holes in the back of the safe for both options that can be used as a template. It also comes with a rubber cover for good weather protection. The code to open it can be set as desired, but be aware that the order of the numbers pressed makes no difference, so 1234 is the same as 4321, or 1423, etc.
Keylock safe needed for incoming care assistants
I did look and the ones with scrolling locks. But I was dubious in case someone may have forgot to clear and move buttons to hide code as the place it is fitted is near front door on busy road. Didn’t want to feel vulnerable. This one fitted where needed and I feel safe. The only thing I do not like is the whole press button part comes out to remove key. ( The other type once wheels moved to code drops down) because of it coming out completely key has been dropped a couple of times on the floor by carers. Easy to put back enter code and hold button down to replace. Also rain cover.
Not been able to look but it seems the rain cover is not fixed to the wall but slots on. Not ideal. Good when on hides the full keysafe. All carers manage with it fine and has been useful. Plus no worry about any showing PIN code being left on device
Easy install just a little worried it’s easy to break into
Once secured to the wall it’s a nice little bit of kit however the front panel with buttons on feels a little flimsy I’m hoping not easy to break into
