We recently did an extension with both indoor and outdoor renovation. This little vacuum is absolutely amazing in any conditions, easy to clean and store. The fact that it can vacuum both wet and dry material makes all the difference. Definitely an investment for anyone considering this.

I really love this DEWALT vacuum cleaner – it makes cleaning up so easy. It is a sturdily constructed piece of equipment that does just what it’s supposed to do without any fuss. It is very easy to put together and very straightforward to use.
It has a strong suction and a long hose (2.1m) so you can easily reach around you without having to haul the cleaner too far. There are the usual accessories included- floor nozzle, crevice nozzle, etc but you also get two extension wands instead of one thereby extending your reach further. There is also an accessory bag provided.
The lid of the cleaner has a sturdy handle on it which has a nice grip. This lid is attached to the body of the cleaner with two large easy to operate clips and there is a HEPA filter on the underside of the lid for trapping small particles. This filter is easy to remove by twisting and then pulling and it is washable under a running tap. The simple,big, yellow on/off button is also on the lid and the hose can be neatly coiled around the lid and handle when not in use.
There are two ‘ports’ on the cleaner, the vacuum port on the yellow body and the blow port on the lid. The power cord is just over 3 metres long and it can be neatly wound up at the side when you’ve finished cleaning.
A disposable filter bag is included together with the instruction manual which is fairly easy to understand.
Overall, the DEWALT cleaner is very good quality, it is made from durable materials and should last a long time. It is powerful, easy to operate, reasonably priced and also has a 3 year warranty. I recommend this as an excellent purchase.

This machine lives up to other Dewalt products strong, robust and well made. It is easy to use and easy to change between wet/dry/blow. The suction is really good I have used it to collect the dust from around the fire, debris in the garage and also around the outside shed area.
So far I have enjoyed using this vacuum and no doubt it will be used a lot more in the coming months as we continue to renovate our home.
This is super handy to have around. Tube is perhaps double the size or average domestic hoover so doesn’t clog up. Sucks up things from dust to rubble with no issues. Very strong thick plastic. Easy to clean as it is basically big bucket with filter. Quite bulky. My issue is the fact that tube could have extra attachment ( comes with 2) as I am tall an end up having to bend down a lot to use this. Other issue is the wire. Also could be longer.
Heavy duty, industrial quality hoover with additional functions, can blow and also can do wet vacuuming. That is not usual for a domestic unit, so this is really good.
Simple engineering so it is reliable, easy to maintain and use. Robust and strong, hard plastic case. However, I was really surprised how light weight it is, probably half the weight or less of other well known brand with a little face and a name.
Powerful suction, and good head, so it works well on laminate floors and on carpet.
Only criticisms would be, the tube is plastic, although strong and robust I prefer metal just to make sure you don’t snap them, and secondly power cable could be longer.
For hoovering, really reliable and powerful, good product.
Dewalt is a famous brand in power tools and represents top quality.
This vacuum is no different. The material used to make the main body is firm and strong. I am planning to use it for my DIY projects. I love the fact that you can use it as a blower as well.
Putting the vacuum together is very easy. Though the instructions on various setup is not that great but is understandable. Putting on the 4 wheels was easy, these wheels make it easy to move it around.
This is a wet and dry vacuum, so you can use it to clean spills, etc. I have not tested the wet function yet.
The whole unit once assembled is bulky and has great suction/blowing power.
I found the price of 139.99 (with 20 extra voucher) to be a very good price for this quality vacuum.
I’ve had a shop vac added to my Amazon wishlist for quite a while now, but never got around to buying one, so when the DeWalt DXV20P was offered for review, I was over the moon.
The vac as you would expect from the DeWalt brand is very well made. It’s plastic body feels extremely solid and the top section seals nicely to the bucket.
This model has a tank capacity of 20 litres and is fitted with a 1050W motor that produces 15kPa of suction power with an air flow rate of 37.8 litres per second.
There is a nice large and easy to grip carry handle on the top, which feels really solid and also acts as a hook when storing the hose. A large on/off button is also found on the top.
The lid clips to the canister via 2 large plastic clips for quick and easy removal.
The underside of the lid is fitted with a large HEPA filter to capture small particles and this is easily removed by twisting the top section to unlock it and then pulling it off. You are then able to wash the filter. With the filter removed, you can also see the built in float that will prevent water from being sucked into the motor.
There are 2 vacuum hose ports, 1 for sucking up material and the other for blowing. You can use the cleaner with a disposable bag fitted (you get one included), or you can use it without.
In the box you get a 2.1m long hose with a diameter of 48mm. You also receive several accessories, including a regular head, a small utility head, a crevice tool and 2 x rigid extension wands.
Finally, the cleaner sits on 4 casters so that it can be easily pulled around in use.

The DXV20P is really quite straightforward to set up and use.
The whole thing comes put together out of the box, with the exception of the casters which simply slide into position and are then fixed with a single screw in each one.
The hose can be attached to either of the ports by simply pushing it onto place, where it will clip in to prevent it from falling out.
The lid is easily removed by releasing the 2 clips (1 on either side), you are then able to fit the dust bag if required by pushing it on to the tube inside the bucket.
Put the lid back on and secure it in place and you are ready to vacuum in the dry mode.
Using the vacuum in wet pickup mode is also very straight forward.
This simply involves removing the lid and taking out the dust bag if fitted. You also need to remove the HEPA filter by unscrewing the top and pulling it out, before replacing the lid. Now you are ready to suck up any water.

Overall, I really like this wet and dry shop vac from DeWalt.
The quality of the product is very good, it produces great suction from its 1050W motor and it isn’t overly loud.
There are a couple of things that could be improved though. The first thing is that the power cord is really quite short at just 3 meters, meaning I usually need to use an extension lead.
Another slight annoyance is that there is nowhere to store any of the attachments on the cleaner itself.
I have resorted to putting the heads inside the bucket, but of course this means I need to remove them when using the cleaner, but I am still left with nowhere for the extension tubes.
Another thing to note is that the vacuum hose has a large 48mm diameter. This is great in that you can pick up larger pieces of debris, but so far I have been unable to connect it to any or my power tools as they use a much smaller diameter connection. I have had a quick search and so far, I’ve not been able to find any cheap pipe reducers to fit.
So I am really pleased with the performance of the product and glad that I have it, although I have to say I probably wouldn’t have bought it at 139.99. I would probably have opted for the Vacmaster Multi 20 that has been on my wish list, as it is half the price, has a more powerful 1250W motor, 18kPa of suction power and it also features PTO (power take off), so that it will automatically switch on and off when you use any connected power tool.
I should also add that the DeWalt does come with a 3 year warranty for added peace of mind.
