Worth the money
So glad i purchased this fire. I bought it for the fire glow, and was not disappointed it really glows, i preferred the pebbles but it was nice to have the choice. Not used the heat yet, but will do so in the winter. All in all one of my best buys. Recommend to anyone considering buying the Dimplex fire.

Fantastic freestanding fire
Bought as a replacement for my mums previous Dimplex electric fire which after years of service finally packed up. Excellent sturdy quality, extremely well made. Easy to operate – 1 ‘flame on’ switch, 2 switched heat settings, & an adjustable thermostat control too. I also bought the extended 3 year guarante just for mums piece of mind. Arrived well packaged in sturdy cardboard box with sturdy internal polystyrene inserts. Full instructions & 12 month manufacturers guarantee.
Creates a focal point for my open plan living area. Very stylish and flame affect gives a warm cosy feel to the room.
The chrome outer frame is plastic which I thought would be metal. Still looks great though.
Gives off nice heat if needed.
Lovely Fire
We had a new boiler fitted and the fire and back boiler were removed, which left us with an un sightly gap, purchased this from Amazon arrived the next day and couldn’t be happier 5 stars
Wonderful! Very Happy and Cosy
I bought this heater to add a cosy feel to our large draughty living room. It warmed it up beautifully within an hour and looks very stylish and pretty authentic too, if you don’t look too closely. I chose the coals, but you get the option of white pebbles also, which I imagine look more modern. It is a fan heater, so when that is turned on you will get that noise, but it’s easy to ignore and disappears into the background quite quickly. I love it and would highly recommend it for people wanting the draw of a real fire, but the convenience of electric.
Easy to use
Replaced our gas fire with this beauty. It’s so easy to use, plugs straight in your outlet, looks beautiful in the evenings when it’s all lite up. So happy with this fire, 10/10
Exactly as described, slightly bigger than some fires.
The fire was delivered earlier than expected so I was very pleased, the fire is lovely fits in with our decor beautifully.This fire is a little bigger than some others so fitted our awkward space very well, the flame effect is very cheering and realistic I could not be more pleased, we only use flame effect as focal point in room, so price was very good.
Not tried out fully but just arrive… but impressed so far.
Great purchase
Great electric fire, looks really good in my mums lounge. It’s easy to use and heats the room quickly, the overall looks is pleasing and the flickering flame comforting.

The bottom left hand side was bent a bit so one side lay flat but the other side stood out a bit so it didnt lay completely flat, it stopped the grate part clipping in proper but managed to slot it in the best i could, the wire is black and stood out against the white marble but its not that noticeable with something in front of it, i really do like the fire and its lovely cosy and also quite, amazon did say i could return it but i decided not to as the other might have been the same, all in all i am happy with it and would recommend this fire even though i had a couple of problems.
A beautiful transformatio
Mum was struggling with a gas fire but this was an ideal upgrade. Providing safe instant heat and looking pretty good, it was a great improvement for her.
I got a similar one a few years ago and suggested to the manufacturer that they change the power on options so it can be Alexa friendly and I am delighted that they listened.
Very sma
The electric fire we had was very old and went bang as I switched it on two days ago. I went onto Amazon to find a replacement and bought this one.
It arrived today and was as simple as plugging it in and switching it on. The only disappointment was there were not enough white pebbles to cover the bottom so we had to use the coals. 2 bags of white pebbles supplied but 3 bags of coal. So maybe one was left out in error.
Apart from that, we are very happy so far. It looks lovely and we now have a warm living room again.
This looks lovely and the flame effect is very realistic and cosy, only let down is the noise when flame effect only is on, sounds like something turning inside, don’t know if this is normal, can be a bit distracting

Good for the price. Got very high ceilings in my lounge but this fire warns it up in about 20 minutes if on high setting. Pleasing to the eye. Just take out of box and plug in. Good for a spare lounge. I got this as a temporary fire until I can afford a whole new fireplace and fitted in fire. Does the job for what I wanted.
Bought for an elderly relative who is very happy. Easy to use, looks good with flame effect even without the heat fan on. Heater has 2 settings and has a thermostat dial. Comes with either white rock or black coals, we chose the coal which seems to be real and quite messy to add. This is a similar fire to another Dimplex we bought last year except this one doesn’t have remote control. Was 20 cheaper than any other major supplier I could see.
Starting to do up my living room in my new house so revamped the old fireplace and bought a new fire. Chose this as the insert had been blocked up by previous owner and I liked the look of it. It does look good in the flesh but quite a lot of it is plastic not metal. Not a problem for me but I don’t think its worth the price really, it seems steep for the quality of materials used. However, I do like it and it really gives off some heat. I need to disguise the lead somehow and the plug is not designed to be removed if you were planning to remove it and feed the wire through a small hole.
Simply perfect....
Well what can I say, the pictures say it all totally delighted with the transformation to my living room, I set a budget if 250, bought everything from Amazon, fireplace, wallpaper and vinyl (for the hearth) and from an old fashion fireplace it’s totally changed the look and feel of my living room. Delivery was perfect, the fire is amazing other say you don’t get enough stones I have stones left over, the wire can be to the left or right, totally impressed with everything. There are cheaper and also more expensive fires this one is in the middle could not have asked for anything better though.
Nice fire
The flame effect on this model is better than our previous one. That flame effect was produced with a fan, lights and ribbons while this one has rotating blades reflecting the light onto a screen. This one looks quite realistic. It kicks out a good amount of heat even on its lowest setting. Not over keen on the big plastic surround but it does enable you to fit the fire up to any wall so an aperture is not necessary. The heater fan is quite noisy hence the four stars. If it was a quieter I’d have given five stars.
Bought fire to replace old one that had stopped working. Was surprised to find the Chrome part is plastic, as are the widest parts of the surround. It does look really good and the flame effect is great. It was supplied with bags of pebbles and bags of coal. I expected the coal to be ceramic or something but my black hands made me realise it is actual coal. I then found disposable glove x 1 had been added in the box and a magnet is a small bag saying Dimplex apparently this is for your choice of whether to have it on the fire or not – but this might not be good idea if small children or pets are around. The flame effect can be used without the heater being on. It has two settings 1KW and 2 KW and a thermostat. So if its set and your room is warmer it won’t come on. It’s noisier than expected which could be annoying if sitting very close but for the price I paid happy with it. You have a slip in the box for your 1 year warranty to be active to phone up or send it off. The leaflet with it is not very good but then there is not much for you to need to know. There is the option of extending the warranty in the box but for the price of it I find this quite expensive – 10 per month or so and options of how many years. I phoned to register it and to query what the magnet was for, the operator was able to look up information so this is worth knowing if you need to look up how to change bulb etc.
Cosy and easy to install
Fits into our fireplace beautifully (there was no fire there before) without having to do any cutting to the back panel. The variflame system look really cosy and actually gives off a small amount of heat once it’s been on for a while.
The fan heaters are a bit noisy though. No more than any other fan heater but you wouldn’t want them on all the time if you were watching TV for example. Having said that, you only need to have them on for 10 minutes to boost the heat levels in the room so this is not a major issue. It’s a good back up to central heating – not a replacement.
It’s always a worry when buying something like this unseen. The thing for me was the flame effect. My previous Fire was one of those with bits of cloth hanging over a fan and light bulbs. The noise of the fan was distracting and the pieces of cloth stuck together into one clump.
This Dimplex fire is beautiful. It looks really smart and posh when switched off, especially with the white pebbles. When turned on the flame effect has to be seen to be believed. The pictures really don’t do it justice. The individual flames dance in a seemingly never repeated pattern, the mirrored back giving the look of a deeper base and the coloured lighting gives the bed of pebbles a warm firery glow.
And total silence. That’s the thing, total silence when having the flame effect on. The heater makes the usual low fan noise of all fan heaters, but the flame effect is totally without noise. Wonderful.
If you want an electric fire that isn’t expensive, but still gives you a real flame effect then I recommend this one without hesitation.
I got this to replace my real coal fire as we’ve had central heating installed and so didn’t want the mess of keeping my real coal fire. It was dispatched really quickly and arrived in excellent condition. It’s a beautiful fire and compliments my black granite hearth and back panel beautifully and all who’ve seen it really like it. It covers the old fire trim, so you would never guess there was a coal fire sitting behind it. It comes with real coal and pebbles, so you can swap and change the look if you want to. I’ve only used the coal up to now as it looks so nice, and the immitation flame effect is quite hypnotic. I have mine on just the flame effect so no heat is produced, but it has 2 heat settings. I have to say I wish I’d have got this sooner because it looks lovely, stops the draft from the chimney (with the help of a chimney balloon purchased separately), and gives a really cosy glow just like the real fire did, but without the mess and expense. Just two small points to mention; it seems to make a quiet tapping sound when it’s switched on, but this is really only noticeable if the room is quiet or if the tv is off; and the cable is a little short for where our socket is, and so would not sit flush to wall. I’ve had to buy an extention lead for this reason. These are minor things, hence me still scoring 5 stars. I would recommend to anyone.
After being let down by two alternative fire suppliers we found this on Amazon. I was a bit unsure as we’d original looked for something a bit more modern, but there are only so many flat black screens you can have on your wall! Looked at the other reviews and took a chance on buying unseen, but no regrets whatsoever. It’s a great fire. And it is really odd, but psychologically, it feels so warm with just the “flame effect” on, we’ve had to turn it off more than once!! And it’s lovely in the late evening when the heating goes off and you just need a warm glow. Haven’t had to use the heater much over Christmas, but it’s absolutely great – and we have a relatively big room (21ft X 10ft).
And the delivery . . . Tesco promised a fire in 3 days; 38 days later, no fire. Argos promised another fire in seven days. After 6 days they called to say it would be a further 20 days. Amazon; fire promised by 1pm on the 3rd working day. Received several texts and emails confirming and on d-day, text to say fire would be delivered between 10.54 [sic] and 11.54 by a named driver. At 11.04, the fire arrived!! Could not be faulted. Would thoroughly recommend.
I bought this fire as I was moving into a flat with a lovely fireplace, and wanted something that would really fit in without looking too old, this is so modern and up to date. I also like the fact that you get the pebbles and the coals which is a great idea, as with some other makes you only get one or the other. For the last few weeks I have had the pebbles on, but tonight I have changed to the coals as the weather is getting colder outside, so it looks even more cosy with the coals on for winter. The 2 heat setting fan is very efficient and soon warms a room up in no time at all, if you need a quick blast when you first come in the room. Looks so authentic too I have had loads of comments from family and friends, they all love just as much as I do. Great value for money too.
