Well made, easy to assemble and once working very reliable. Setting up the software side of things is nowhere near as easy or simple as it should be, but these are very flexible devices designed for enthusiasts. Once configured its been rock solid reliable and never looses connection.

Does the job of recording weather excellently and nice to be able to get it on your phone as well as the screen that comes with it. Setting it up could be made easier by having a small print out of the setup process.
Everything you need for a small weather station in a box.

Great weather station that was easy to install following the well written and simple to follow instructions. Connection to wifi, and registering with online weather site was an easy process; just need a compass or an compass app to ensure siting was correct, no big deal.

First – this Weather Station MUST have a Wifi and Internet connection throughout your home. You must also have a Smart Phone (with latest Android or IOS O/S) and a PC to be able to collect and view the data.

The initial set up routine is a bit tricky and the supplied leaflet can be a bit confusing! I suggest you install the Ecowitt APP on your mobile phone and create an account (free) before you start. Then ensure your mobile phone is connected to your 2.4GH Wi-Fi router (NOT 5GH) Then via the APP on your mobile phone install the HUB carefully following the guide instructions shown on your mobile. It took three attempts before I got it set up, but all successful in time. Then instal the AA batteries in the Station itself. That should then soon register with the HUB and thus data visible on your Mobile phone as active. If you also send data to Wunderground (or other web site) the APP on your mobile phone has a page in MENU under OTHERS and DIY Servers to register your device.

Then install the station itself in the position you prefer outside.

The data then sent to your mobile phone and (and PC web page) is remarkably detailed and the graphs fully customisable for display DAY, 24 Hours, Week, Month etc and viewable in Landscape or Portrait. Landscape is more detailed and easier to view. As far as I can tell the data is accurate in comparison to conventional thermometers and barometers, and rainfall seems accurate in comparison to a previous now failed weather station. Humidity and sunlight/UV also seem accurate as far as I can tell. Wind speed and direction I have no way of comparing, but seem good. Each measuring data point can be adjusted to compensate for local conditions in settings (ie height above sea level etc) Alarms can be set for certain conditions as warnings etc. All in all I am very pleased with the unit and the data it supplies and the way it can be displayed. My only criticism would be that the INDOOR temperature and humidity sensor is NOT remote and is connected by wire 1 meter long to the Hub itself, so it can be tricky to place the sensor in a suitable place – as you are limited to mains power supply socket location etc. POWER SUPPY NOT provided but any 5v DC supply with suitable plug to the hub is fine. However the socket in the hub is NOT same as those in mobile phones. This is the third weather station I have owned over 15 years and is by far the best and comprehensive, though was also the most costly!

From the Ecowitt web page of your weather station on your PC, it is possible to export data, into Excel format

Am very impressed so far, though I cannot vouch for reliability or longevity but it seems well made and robust. The pole socket is for 1inch pipe/tube and has locking collar to tighten it in place.

I’ve only had this for half of a week so far. I’m very impressed by how easy it was to set up and the quality and amount of information that it can provide. I have an alert set up to let me know when it’s raining so that when I’m away from home I can park up my robot lawnmower so that it doesn’t dig the soft ground. The uv index will be great to see to avoid getting sunburned on overcast days. It seemed to charge very quickly on a bright day when I installed it and the charge seems to hold quite well. I’m not sure if I’ll need to use the heater element at any point so I have it tie wrapped to the mounting pole, I would have liked to be able to remove it completely or to be able to secure it in a better way. Only time will tell if this survives a rough winter, we get very heavy winds and I also wanted this to help us prepare for that. So far so good and I would highly recommend, I’ll update further if it stops working.

Update; Rain often takes a while to be detected, disappointed in the lack of accuracy here. It often reports rain beyond when the rain has stopped also.

    First impressions are grea

It works very well and provides comprehensive data. I like that you can access it via the app or on your desktop wherever you are. The only thing that concerns me is the accuracy of the wind speed measurement. The TV weather forecast can be for strong winds and it can seem to be blowing a gale outside, yet the weather station shows only around 10 mph or so. This may be perfectly accurate and perhaps our weather station is in a protected spot. I don’t know. I’d be interested to know what others think.

    Easy to set up
Easy to connect to Weather Underground too and others
    My only issue is
The Working week to me is Monday to Sunday
The Week day is Sunday according to Ecowitt
there is no option I can find to change it
    And that is annoying
So only 4 stars until they change i

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI love it. Does it have any functional real world use other than information? – no. Will it be something that will benefit your daily life? – no. But….. It’s just information junkie fun, and can look at history from when you switch it on, and share it, and also view other locations in your town and city! It’s just so much fun to see the weather changes, temperature, solar info, pressure! I just love it and look at it many times daily, via the screen and online. Its strangely addictive and fun!

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersEasy to set up and appears to give good accuracy. Things you need to know that the instructions don’t tell you:- to connect the base console screen to the Wi-Fi it must be plugged into the mains or it won’t go into setup mode. Try and get the weather station as high as you can, Wickes builders merchants do a 2 piece 3m washing line pole that is great and if you want to go higher you can buy a second one but you can only use one more section so you will have 4.5m. Lastly if you want to connect to to other services you need to use another app called ws view, you will notice it has the same icon as the Ecowitt app as is simple enough to follow. Also make sure you read the instructions and point the weather station the right way. Finally the arrows showing wind direction on the console and app are a little confusing. On the console the tiny arrow points outwards and shows where the wind is coming from while the app shows where it is going to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Accurate local weathe

Really impressed with this so far. Very easy to set up, I had a bit of a query about the set up and I got an answer to my question very quickly so that was good. Loving the fact that it has no moving parts – I never really believed my previous weather stations when it came to the wind detection because the dreaded pole wobble seemed to cancel out the speed and the rotating windspeed detector would inevitable seize up in the end.

Where this set up really excels is the wealth of info you can draw from it and the accessibility of that info. You have all the data set out very clearly in all sorts of graphs and charts and they are just there on your phone / laptop / tablet where ever you are in the world and then see data from every connected weather station in the world all set out in detail so if you are a weather obsessed individual you really can not ask for more. Plus there is no additional charge (not yet anyway!).

By far the best weather station I have had, and I have had a few.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI have edited my original comments as the problem I though it was having was in fact caused by me being fumble fingered when opening the packaging. The power supply and cable I though was missing had fallen down the side of the packaging insert.

The issue was resolved after contacting the supplier with whom I exchanged a number of emails. Their responses were fast, sometimes a few minutes, and helpful. A few delays were caused by the different time zones between China and the UK.

As I write the unit has been up and running successfully for 24 hours and is everything I hoped it would be. Graphs on the website are very neat and the base display looks nice and works well. Documentation in the box is minimal and this may cause some confusion. The kit will work perfectly well without a wifi connection and the base unit has both batteries AND a power supply. The power supply MUST be plugged in and switched on for the wifi connection to work. There are NO error messages if you try to set up wifi without plugging in the power supply so there is a danger that you will think the unit is broken.

now i just need some rain and a windy day.

Item arrived very quickly, within a few days. This is a rather revolutionary new technology to measure wind speed, wind direction and rainfall. I hope that it will be reliable and continue to work for a longer time than the traditional systems. The app which I really like is very informative. I had some problems to get it going but that was due to their servers. In any case it is working fine now. If you are a weather enthusiast I highly recommend this item, enjoy.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersBought to replace a smaller simpler weather station. Well packaged and easy to set up. Pleased to see a well written easy to understand manual. Mounted the sensor unit on the roof of my shed, not ideal but didn’t fancy getting on the house roof! The readings seem accurate enough but a few degrees doesn’t make a great deal of difference to me.
I connected to the Ecowitt website as detailed in the manual, not that straightforward but followed the instructions and got there eventually…
Once connected you can access all the data being transmitted by the sensor unit and view all data as a graph, daily, weekly etc on your tablet, phone, computer etc. Only paid 134 for it in November which was a fair price I reckon, notice it’s now 188 which is a bit expensive I think.
Update, had a problem with time display, contacted Ecowitt and received a reply within a couple of hours which sorted it out. Excellent customer service.

Very easy to install and get working. The haptic rain gauge overreads in light ppn but otherwise ok and all other sensors accurate enough for local/enthusiast purposes. I’m using a very old 10″ iPad as a permanent display with additional data logging via a networked raspberry pi.

The flexibility of ways to view data are impressive. Several apps, websites etc. Most fun of all an API you can call directly and write your own data collector and display app/website. I was also able to link to GW1100 so did not need the upgraded gateway. It took a bit of digging though on the internet to learn how to get the most out of this device and the app. Initially I used the old version of the app but later found WS View app and that helped. Connecting to WU (weather underground) and Weathercloud was easier with the WSView Plus app. Once you have all the codes it works well. If you have some coding/computing skills it is fun to use the API, but with so many options and apps, this is not required, just fun. Checking for other weather stations around me using the app, I found that where I am it is colder and more exposed than other stations a mile away.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is the second of this unit I have had. The second, not because the first was unreliable or junk. But I dropped the display unit and broke the screen. It did me proud for in excess of 8 years. The screen unit so far as I can see is the same. Its clear and concice. The out door unit has changed. Improved construction. Other than that, everything else looks identical. If I don’t drop this unit, it might outlive me.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersNote you will need:-
A small and mediun size Pozidrive / cross head screwdrivers.
    A pole – at least 25mm / 1inch dimmater.
2x AA batteries (lithum preferred) for the outside unit.
3x AAA batteries for data backup in the inside unit.
Smart phone – only if you want to calibrate the unit and if you want to connect to WiFi.
2.4G WiFi internet – only if you want to access the weather station remotely.

I, like others used a loft aerial mount but note the common ones are only about 12 inches long but if you search you can find 18 and 20 inch poles.

Overall the unit seems to be well made and fits together easily but there are some daft design decisions. The battery cover on the outside unit uses a pozidrive scrrew to close it but it is not captive and can easily fall. The pole fixing does not have wing nuts – you have to use the supplied spaner. Both issues can be overcome using the aerial mount as it uses wing nuts to attach to the base so you can easily assemble the unit on the pole then fix the pole to the base. Then remove the whole thing to change the battery or clean the rain gague.

Another of their brilliant ideas was to put a sprit level bubble on the top side of the unit meaning it is impossible to see. Why not put ot on the underside! If you have a small sprit level you can make sure the pole is vertical.

The indoor unit has two mounitng stands and can be wall mounted but the display is brightest when looking down on it. Looking horizontally at it gives a much dimmer display.

I would suggest pairing the outside and indoor units up before mounting. This was very easy and you soon see the display burst into life. If you don’t want remote access that is all you need do, it will work in stand alone mode.

To get the full benifit of it you need to connect it to your WiFi. Note only 2.4G supported. You download an app. Then the indoor unit works as a hot spot and your phone needs to connect to it. This alows you to set up the WiFi SSID and password for your WiFi. Note turn off any VPN you may have on the phone – I wasted hours till I spotted my error. The WiFi indicator will stop flashing when it has connected.

I then downloaded the Ecowitt app and could see all my readings, history graphs and allso using the map tab I could see other weather stations to check my results agreed.

Onlu been running a few days but all seems ok so far.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI bought this with a view to keeping a closer eye on my local weather – specifically rainfall as we run a rainwater harvesting system on our home. After much research into weather stations I eventually decided on the Ecowitt system as representing good value for money – a useful customisable display with multiple parameters recorded. The ability to view the information from anywhere in the world was something I particularly valued. I used a TV Aerial mounting pole and mounted the system on the side of our house a good distance above the roof line – not ideal, but a decent compromise. The results so far, over 2 weeks or so, are good. The pattern is similar to other nearby recording stations so the mounting point is not having too marked an affect on the data. The system seems robust and has endured decent gusts of approaching 50MPH with no apparent ill effect – it does sway a little on it’s mount but nothing beyond what I would expect. Overall – very pleased.

I’m a weather geek and that’s what made me purchase this in early September. It’s now October 30 and I’m loving it. I have it mounted on top of my TV antenna about 7 feet above the roof. It’s great for measuring wind but I have to be honest, I’m not sure on the rain yet because we just haven’t gotten much. 🙁 The remote sensors are easy to add and I’ve done a number of things with them. The best is I put one in the duct work of my furnace. I can see exactly when the furnace runs and how much heat it’s generating. You’d be surprised at seeing the impact of setting the temp back. I can also see, by comparing the sensors, that my whole house humidifier is working. I used another in my camper this fall to alert me when the temp fell below 35 so I could turn it’s furnace on to prevent freezing. All fun and good stuff

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIf you’re like me and have been fascinated with the weather since I was young, this was a must buy. Value for money here, you can spend a lot more for similar functions. Accurate and easy to read output on the screen. My only issue was where to place the outside unit, not having a large garden. Ideally it could have gone on the roof or eaves but then you would have a problem changing batteries. Where I have it is fine as it’s south facing and is exposed to all but northerly winds, which don’t occur often here. Maybe a solar recharged battery for the external unit would be and option for an upgrade but overall I’m very happy with the purchase and find myself constantly looking at the data!

Very pleased with this unit. Uses the latest technology for sensing wind speed and direction, so no moving parts to wear out. Rain sensor is also ‘digital’ albeit I would doubt if it would register a very light drizzle that a conventional tipping unit might do. That said, again no parts that might clog or wear out.

This unit connects via a wifi ‘gateway’ included in the package I bought, so information is displayed on your pc or smart device using an app. Range of the unit seams very good compared to most. Many more sensors can be added. Setup was simple.

I understand that some of the consoles available for other Ecowitt product versions will display the data if you wish a conventional display. Recommended.

This review evaluates the “Wittboy 7-In-1 Weather Station” made by ECOWITT.

The product was well protected in its packaging and comes in a form fitted box. What’s in the box: One 7-in-1 Weather Station, One (1) Wi-Fi Hub, One (1) RJ-45 CAT5E network cable, One (1) AC power block, One (1) bird deterrent ring, and an owner’s manual.

First impressions: Well made and easy to use. I have owned a few mechanical weather stations and they all crap out after 4-5 years; the bearings go, and things just break. This weather station has zero moving parts and everything is measured by high-tech sensors (temperature, humidity, wind direction and speed, light and UV levels as well as rainfall data) and transmitted wirelessly via a 915 MHz frequency back to the networked hub. The hub is the wireless receiver of the 915 MHz signal as well as the transmitter (via your wireless or wired LAN network) of the data to your phone or to a PWS (Personal Weather Station) internet-based weather services, such as Ecowitt Weather, Weather Underground, Weather Cloud, or Weather Observation Website. The weather station can also be used with other (or more) sensors available at extra cost from Ecowitt such as lightning strikes, soil moisture, thermo-hygrometer, pool thermometer, water leak detector, etc. The weather station requires two (2) AA batteries (Lithium recommended, not included) to power the transmitter as a backup in inclement non-sunny weather when the onboard solar panel can’t power the system.

I found the weather station easy to set up, no exaggeration literally one step shy of taking it out of the box and plugging in. ProTip: Configure and test everything on your tabletop before mounting outside somewhere high up to ensure everything works as it should. Insert two new lithium AA batteries into the Weather Station and close the watertight enclosure. Download the ECOWITT APP (free) and create an account (free). Plug in your Ecowitt Hub and connect it to your network (the easiest way is a wired CAT5E RJ-45 connection to configure it first). The blue LED light on the hub will link and then go solid when connected to the weather station. My weather station is located approximately 100 feet from my hub and it connected near immediately. The hub connected via DHCP to my LAN promptly and within less than a minute after plugging everything in I was receiving live data from my weather station. I already had an account on Wunderground which I updated to reflect my new equipment. I set up my Wunderground upload key into my Ecowitt App account and voila I was transmitting live weather data to the public worldwide. Once again this was the easiest set-up of a PWS I have ever done. My past systems were always an exercise in frustration with dropped connections, non-reporting, etc.

The only thing this kit doesn’t have is a real-time display for the house; you must use your cellphone. Well to me this was an issue because my 76-year-old M-I-L likes to see the weather and doesn’t use modern gizmos I looked on Ecowitt’s website and a display unit was nearly $200 plus shipping from the manufacturer — OOOOOUCH! That would be about 2/3 of the cost of the new weather station itself. So with some research, I was able to come up with a much cheaper solution: A unused Android tablet and a $14 CDN “WHATWEATHER” APP. Works flawlessly and fully integrated with my Ecowitt weather station via my Wunderground account. Now I have an attractive display of my onsite weather.

Cost-effectiveness and value: I was very satisfied with the quality of this product; it is well made, easy to set up and install, easy to use, and accurate. The system is easily expandable to incorporate additional sensors. At a current price of $260.99 (plus a $20 off coupon), I feel that this is good value for the quality and functionality delivered.

In summary: The “Wittboy 7-In-1 Weather Station” made by ECOWITT is a quality product that works well, easy to use, is easily expandable, and is fairly priced. I would recommend this product without reservation.

    Pros :
Rugged, well made, good fit and finish.
    No moving parts.
Easy to set up right out of the box.
Great wireless transmission range — up to 1,000 ft unrestricted, 500 ft restricted.
Powered by an integrated solar panel and backup lithium AA batteries (not included).
Reports temperature, humidity, wind direction and speed, light and UV levels, and rainfall data
    Accurate, detailed reporting.
Easy to use & understand APP
Supports data reporting to internet-based PWS weather services.
    Fairly priced.

    Cons:
    None.

Very easy to set up, Easy to use and Accurate!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis far exceeded my expectations in quality and the data. The sheer amount of data is astonishing, I was expecting certain things but it also throws in hourly stats, noon phases and weather patterns. The app is clunky and could do with a polish but it’s useable and to be honest I don’t know how they would take that amount of choice and info easily.
The setup is straight forward if you’ve added any smart home devices before, my install involved setting the hub to WiFi and pairing with the account on the app, this was done with the normal smart home secondary pairing mode of connecting directly to the devices WiFi to add it in. The base then powers with a usb cable that works on a normal 5v usb plug on a socket and can be hidden away.
The weather station is solar powered and has backup batteries which it only should use when the solar charge has been depleted so anytime other than July then.

It looks smart and I really like the ambiguous look of it on the garage roof because it doesn’t look like a normal weather station with the little teaspoon wind measure and the arrow pointing the direction. This has no moving parts and I have no idea how it works so well, saying that I’m trusting that the plethora of information this thing reads is accurate although I’m not sure how to test against it?

The app is free to sign up to and to record your data and you are open to data provided anonymously as you can also provide when you install it you are asked if you will share your data. You can setup alert on the app to buzz when a certain readout hits a threshold, I haven’t used this as I use it as information instead of a warning system for golf or drone flying but I will give the rain sensor alert a go which would stop me looking out of the window with the washing out.

It’s expensive but I’ve not once thought it’s overpriced or lacks quality, the build quality through everything is superb and it’s an investment yes at over 200 but if it’s of use, and there are many, then it’s an excellent tool.

This is a brilliant bit of kit, so much information and easy to install.

This odd a technical bit of kit which takes some getting used to. I have to admit, it’s difficult to gauge its accuracy without a comparative piece of equipment so this review is purely based on my initial thoughts of the product

Set ups – was easier than expected. I was a little daunted initially and put off attempting the install for a while but following the instructions was straight forward.

The app – where do you start with the data. There’s so much of it I was overwhelmed and struggled to get to grips with it. However, after some time of looking for short periods of time I was able to navigate my way around the app and found the data interesting. One of those things that you end up spending too much of time on.

I don’t doubt this has its place, and will be useful to some. For me, it was interesting and something to talk about before forgetting to check it quite as often.
If you need data, this provides a lot of it in a detailed way.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersMy first impressions are really good the packaging is simple very stylish and everything inside it is very well packed I’m not a fantastically techie guy so I was a little bit disappointed that you don’t get any instructions inside the box you have to download an app using the massive QR code that’s on the lid of the box it took me awhile because there’s certain things you have to do which is a little bit disappointed .
All in all the set up took me about an hour that’s reading the information that’s downloading the app that’s understanding what to do and then working out which method was best for me as you have a choice of three.
I am super impressed with the amount of information you get once you’ve set everything up as I get up in the morning I can look at my app and I can find out exactly what’s going on with the weather outside I if I can mow the lawn , if it’s gonna rain not gonna rain moisture etc absolutely brilliant however I do have some reservations this has to be close to some power and Wi-Fi it has got a range of 150 m so you have to have a small holding next to your Wi-Fi or a large garden if it’s on an allotment before you start you have to make sure that you can you have some kind of power setting in place for you to use it the best way
For me The price point is okay and over 200 as I have a really large garden which I utilise more and more for growing vegetables et cetera please I found ways of actually increasing my crops brillia

    Takes a bit of time

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis weather station is a real marvel. Its small and compact, looks different mounted on the pole than normal weather systems, no spinning wheels or moving parts at all and filled with sensors.

The weather station consists of two parts, the weather station itself and the base unit.

Let’s start with the base unit, this is a small round disc smaller than a normal smoke alarm so pretty compact in size. It can be laid on a table/desk/shelf or can be mounted to something using screws (provided) a base plate is screwed to the surface and the base unit clicks in place to this. You can connect the base unit to your Wi-Fi wirelessly or via Lan. To connect via Lan simply plug the provided cat5 cable into your router and into your base unit, power on and follow the instructions on the provided card to setup. To connect via Wi-Fi is a little more complex but still fairly easy and was my preferred option so I could put the base unit under my table out of the way. (The base unit powers using a usb cable which is provided). To install using the app, first install the app then open and register for a free account. You can press the plus button and scan the qr code on the back of the base unit or pick the type of unit you are connecting too from the list and follow the prompts. You must switch your Wi-Fi on your phone from the hub to the base unit if you opt for this second method, easy enough to do then follow the prompts to finish the install. Took just a couple of minutes from downloading the app. Once your base unit is installed you will be able to see this along with the internal room temperature and humidity in the room, so you’ll know your paired up ready to go.

The weather station is also very easy to setup, using a flat bladed screwdriver, remove the battery compartment and insert 2 aa batteries to switch the unit on. The batteries are only required to power the unit on to begin with and when the solar power isn’t enough to keep the station running. Ill cover a bit more on that soon. Once the batteries are in, replace the cover and screw it down tight to make waterproof. Once the screw is in the unit powers on and you can see the blue flashing light on the top. Give it a minute and it will start transmitting to the base unit. Refresh your app and you’ll see all the new sensors appear on your page.

The weather station is powered by solar, once you’ve mounted it outside the power of the Sun keeps it alive, your app shows you how much power is in the battery and how much power the capacitor has stored from the solar panel. The app and website reports how much power the sun is producing as well as the current and recorded UV Index. During the night the weather station will use the power from the capacitor to keep it alive and only resort to the aa batteries if it’s depleted during the night, more likely in the winter I guess but for now the solar panel has kept it alive during the night.
The top of the weather station along with the solar panel has a neat little sensor that detects the rain as it hits it, no collector required. Underneath this is the wind monitor which no longer requires a spinning blade or direction finder. Instead, you make sure the weather station “N” points North when mounted, the weather station uses its magical powers to work out where the winds coming from and what speed it’s doing. Actually, I think its science that it uses but magic sounds better. A system of sensors detects the wind direction and speed without any moving parts. The station records constant speeds as well as gusts.

Temperature, humidity and pressure are monitored below with a replaceable sensor in the base of the unit. The weather station has a great range on it, I’ve located it away from the house on the roof of our shed so its unobstructed and it relays readings back to the base unit (located in the front of our house) without a problem.
The weather station has a trailing cable from the bottom of it. You only need to use this if you wish to use the heater function. A heating plate is built into the unit, plug in the optional power pack (sold separately) and the unit will automatically power on the heating plate when the temperature gets below a certain point. This protects from ice and snow to keep the weather station operational in the winter.
The data can be accessed either via the app or via the website and can be made private or public so everyone can see it. I opted for public, why not. No reason to keep it secret. Once your hooked up and recording you start getting mountains of data to keep you occupied. The app takes quite a bit of getting used to but after spending some time with it, its fairly easy to read and get the data, although I do feel it needs some refinement, zooming in on the graphs to view detail can be a bit clunky and it jumps around a lot which is a pain, but it can be done. You can view graphs in more detail easier by pressing the landscape/portrait button (why it doesn’t just change when you rotate your phone seems strange to me). That being said it’s no big issue and its easy to read by scrolling your finger on the screen and reading pop up for the time you’ve tapped on. The website shows the same information but its easier to read the graphs on there. Options are on the page to see by day, week, month or year. You also have a custom option to view what you want to see.
From either the app or the website you can set up email alerts from any of the sensors, press the alert button then press create or add. Pick the sensor you want an alert from and then select the data range you want the alert to activate from. When the sensor gets to that point the system pings you an email to let you know. Very useful.
My verdict is that this is a brilliant little weather station, instant access to live data and stored data. No moving parts to go faulty or need maintenance. Easy to install and easy to operate. Compared to other units on the market the extra cost of this weather station is worth the expense. I really love this bit of kit.

No moving parts and tons of weather data

The weather station is an excellent product . Great design , clear colour read out and the WiFi accurate without wire’s everywhere . I had to return the station because it’s designed for the real weather experts due to its positioning and operation . If you’re good in weather tech this is good for you .

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this to replace a similar priced Chinese product that I owned for about two years.
In comparison, this Ecowitt adds precipitation rate and relative air pressure, which my old station did not have. Another improvement with this model is the weather vane which requires a stronger breeze to make it change wind direction. If the vane spins too freely you would have trouble knowing which way the wind is blowing, especially in light winds. I find this unit records the wind direction the same as forecasted by the Met office, so am happy with that.
The indoor display is easy to read and much brighter than a lot of cheaper stations, and I found it easy to connect to Weather Underground. You can also fit a memory card as a backup if you wish.
In summary this is the best weather station I have owned, and am very happy with it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersMy old weather station dies and I spent a long time looking for a replacement. This seemed to fit the bill, lots of additional sensors and the description seemed to indicate I can store and access the data locally for my own analysis.
It’s much better than I thought. You can install a MicroSD card into it, and it will store the data. This is great. You can also save the data to one of many external weather sites, but this means setting the base station up on your wifi and then giving it access to other external places, and if, like me, you are somewhat careful about who and what you let into your home network, I wanted to store the data locally. luckily, with a Raspberry Pi (or PC) you can use CumulusMX and connect it very easily to the weather station, keeping all your data local. This was a VERY pleasant surprise, and actually fits in nicely with another project I have. So far, very impressed that someone has actually thought about a product.

The station was straight-forward to instal and gave readings without any problems. On the other hand the equipment arrived in a box that had clearly been opened previously and some of its contents were not packaged in the plastic bags that they should have been in. I was prepared for problems but in fact the system works well, one negative is that the screen display has a very narrow viewing angle and cannot be read unless your eyes are higher than the screen. Another problem is the difficulty in installing the software for Ecowitt, Wunderground and other similar apps. I have not yet managed to register the station with these or with the WS View that is the dedicated app. Here the instruction booklet is not clear and there is no explanation of how to find the “station key”. At the moment I have failed to get information from the console to my IPhone or to shared websites. Frustrating!
