We have artificial turf in our back yard and we wanted this to help keep it fresh looking. There is a bit of a learning curve with its use and I would be interested in purchasing wheels to support the brush, but I cannot find them. May have get inventive. It is heavy so I highly encourage the strap to help support the weight of the brush. Other than that it does a really great job and the turf looks great after it is brushed.

Quality is really good, easy to install, use. It has metal which is really strong for edging.

This thing is a beast. It’s a handful. I it used to clean brick sidewalks where soil runoff had occurred. It just annihilated 3 inches of dirt. Be ready for a dirt cloud. Does well along the street curbs. However, I have found it lacking abrasiveness that it will clean vegetation between bricks or pavers. Great for pollen, tree leaves and just dirt. It’s like phase 2 if a blower won’t get i

I’m very pleased with all EGO products. This works well.

I ran the weed eater for approximately an hour and a half. Mostly on the high setting. It operated flawlessly And did everything my gas power did. But a lot quieter and with a lot less vibration. And the battery was recharged and ready for use again in twenty minutes. Which was okay because I took a thirty minute nap.

A little heavy to use, but that’s also what makes the head have great ground contact. I can sweep the street in front of my house in just a few minutes. You’ll use the strap if you buy it.

I purchased this for my husband and he loves it !!! He said battery lasts a long time ( enough time to edge our yard. When you’re done with it, remove the battery. He said the only suggestion would be : that the blade be larger for a deeper cut/ edge. ( it was pricey as well) He received it for his birthday from our family and he was like a kid with a new toy!!!

Easy to use to clear light to medium snow fall.

I originally saw it at Lowes, but purchased it here on Amazon at a better price. I have used it twice so far and I’m impressed by it. Definitely has the power to do the job. I have a long drive way and a lot of side walk to edge. It did the job with no problem. I had not edged for a couple of weeks due to gas edger not worhing. The Ego cut through it smoothly. It had enough battery power to complete the job and more. Will probably order the weed eater attachment also. Forget the gas ones and go with battery power.

like that it is battery run. but it is harder to use than my gas edger and doesn’t work as good. Also it is very heavy.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter almost 2 years they charger gave a “Defective” message when tried to charge the battery. I emailed the company and they called me back! Had forgotten to register item and they helped me do that and then did trouble shooting and determined the charger was bad. Sent a new one in a few days and it works great!

A company that responded to a customer and did what was right! Sadly too uncommon these days.

I bought this product for my husband to replace the old one. The product is of good quality, works perfectly as described and my husband is happy with it. I recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersJust recieved the unit today. Assembly was easy. Put it right to work. It did great on our artificial turf. It definitely gets a lot of the stuck debris out of the grass blades that a blower can’t, at least my blower.
We also have a little putting green that gets a lot of debris from the neighbors trees. We use to vacuum the green, but the brushes make quick work of it.
Just an observation…pay attention to wind direction. As I was brushing the turf, the wind was blowing some of the debris back over to the area I had just brushed, so make sure you are set up correctly.

My only real complaint is that it’s a bit awkward to use. Trying to find the right balance between enough pressure on the brushes without having them bog down can be a challenge and quite the forearm workout.
I’m going to copy one of the othe reviewers and add the training wheels., which should make the whole process much more enjoyable.
    Overall, a great little tool.

The edger is a great tool and obviously integrates well with my Ego blower and Ego weed whacker. When I first used the edger I had to take it slow and steady as it was new to me and the grass had grown out a few inched over my sidewalk, driveway and curb. After a few minutes I got the hang of it and it was smooth sailing onward. It does a remarkable clean job w/ little effort. When I came back to edge two weeks later, it was easier still and produced a great sharp line. One battery is more than enough to do my edging and blowing off the concrete. Hats off to Ego !

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is far from lightweight..its heavy…but the rotary brush works great….
Used it upside down..to help brush the stones out of the grass…they got in the yard…when needed to plow snow out of the driveway..
But the brush worked good even upside down..like dethatching the grass too while picking up the stones………watch out though..the stones went flying…worked really good though…good purchase.

This edger works really well and has great battery life. The only thing I would change about it is to make it a bit lighter. Still a great product as are most in the EGO line.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIf you need an edger that has power and works DON’T buy this one. Super expensive for a low power, low quality tool. Unless you have already edged and just need to touch up a small lawn, this is not the tool for the job

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis battery-powered edger is the GOAT! We have a half dozen assorted gas-powered and electric edgers, and none can come close to the convenience and ease of use of this little gem. The cut is clean and even; the portability is superb. If there is any negative at all, it would be this: the tool can get a little heavy (for a senior-citizen female) after prolonged use. Definitely worth every penny! I will be purchasing more EGO tools!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe have several other EGO tools and have loved all of them, and this edger is no exception. Great power, easy to use, outstanding battery life, no complaints whatsoever. The EGO line of products continues to impress at every turn. There’s no doubt I’ll stick with EGO as I continue to move away from gas and corded electric tools.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a pretty good edger. I wish there were additional guidewheels that you would get with a traditional edger. Also I wish that there was a bit more weight to the front to keep it down. Other than that – it is a nice add on to my ego system!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOverall, another awesome EGO product. This is EGO tool number 8 in my shed

This thing is a beast. Use a large battery if you have it to help counterbalance the heavy brush head.

This is great if you have a really smooth surface, but I bought it to sweep my putting green. It takes a careful, strong hand to keep the brush contact light to prevent kick-back. It would be awesome if there was an option for guide wheels to keep the brush contact light

It makes for easy work cleaning my drive and pool area. Highly recommend this product if you can control it.

I almost did not purchase based on some reviews saying it was hard/heavy to hold & use

if you have used an edger before all will be well, at least in my experience. it is nicely wighted and works well. in fact so much easier to get started and use than the prior gas edger it replaced

    battery life is great too

Not ideal for clearing snow or leaves/debris on the driveway simply because it is way too heavy and hard to maneuver. This can never replace a snow blower or pressure washer / blower for these jobs. Surprisingly though, it’s quite effective to in cleaning artificial grass, which is the only reason I kept it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI watched several YouTube videos on battery-powered edgers, and decided to go with this one. I have used it throughout the summer, and I am so pleased with it. I use it along our pea-gravel driveway edging and two sidewalks. It has really good power and battery life, and I don’t find it too heavy to use. I also ordered the strap so I can sling it over my shoulder if I want a little extra support while edging. Also, the depth setting is easily adjustable. Highly recommend this!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI wanted a battery operated edger. While this was more than I really intended to spend, I think it was still the right purchase for me. It seems monstrously big but it’s actually, I find, surprisingly easy to handle (I’m 5’6″). It’s in fact almost fun to use! Since mowing and edging is new to me (my attempt at being more “DIY”), that is something to say. It seems like it’s self propelled because the edger pulls right along with almost no effort. My yard requires a lot of edging — a lot of palm trees that I have to edge around. Using this edger makes that job pretty easy and for that, I am grateful. this is the right edger for me: it’s battery operated and is easy for me to operate. And that’s my summary.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI like my yard to look nice and edge about every 3 weeks. The EGO preformed as well as my current edger in addition to allowing me to edge in tight places( i.e. when a car is parked along the curb) that my gas powered edger would not fit.
I also do 2 other family members yards. One never waters or edges and has wire grass. I was able to do their yard a few times. The EGO has plenty of peer and battery life. The other lawn is Zoysia which is very thick. Again, the EGO edger had plenty of power and battery life. I highly recommend.

My first impression, after wearing out two Black and Decker “toy” trimmers, was that this was well worth the money. High quality, everything fits together well. Then I charged the battery and assembled it – and thought there was no way I would be able to swing this around for more than a few minutes. I wasn’t sure the strap would help, but ordered it anyway. Honestly, the strap should come with the powerhead.

Once adjusted properly, the trimmer hangs perfectly balanced from the strap. It does take some getting used to, and the single straight strap with one attachment point is not the best design for a woman. But still, it helps significantly, and this system is really a huge step up from B&D.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersI just finished using the EGO edger for the first time. I have not edged in many years so the grass overgrowth on the driveway and sidewalk was thick and hung over several inches.
Before I purchased it I had watched several YouTube videos which was very helpful both in deciding whether I should buy it and also how to operate it.
I was very impressed with the power as I edged through the overgrown grass. I had it on the higher setting. It didn’t hesitate. I did have to push through some spots a few times and the EGO responded very well. Because I couldn’t see the edge of the driveway and sidewalk I continued to strike it. I did a somewhat choppy job but after clearing out the cut sections I went over it again to make the line straighter.
I agree with the reviews that this edger has a lot of power. I’d guess my edging was on the more difficult side because I hadn’t edged in many years. The last time was with a plug in weed eater and the plastic string just wasn’t strong enough to do a good job.
Some reviewers said the unit was a bit too heavy. As a male in my early 60s I didn’t find that to be a problem at all. I did order a new blade although I may not have needed to right now. But I could see the wear with the constant strikes against the cement and the thick overgrowth. The subsequent edgings won’t be so hard on the blade now that I cleared out the lawn overgrowth and can see the cement. The battery showed no signs of wearing down during operation. This is a quality edger made by EGO.
I didn’t want to spend the money because it is a bit pricey. But now that I have and put it to use I am 100% glad I did. It’s just night and day in how my yard now looks before and after edging. I have a nice looking lawn because I stay after it with fertilizer, but it just never looked very good without a nice edging. So if you are on the fence whether to purchase it or not, I don’t think you will regret it if you do.

It worked well. It takes a lot of power. I am glad I got the large capacity battery. I have walk a distance to my curb. I have a 250 wide lot. It was the first it was trimmed. I made it work hard and long. I finished with power to spare. It was little heavy and awkward. I would purchase it again. It did what I hope would do. I whole heartedly recommend it.
