We have a very timid rescue cat. In view of some upcoming building work at home we have bought Feliway with the hope to keep our boy nice and calm.
It’s easy to plug, the liquid does not spill and it has really worked! Our boy seems relaxed and not too stressed about the drilling and this is mostly due to having 2 Feliway plugged in, one downstairs and one in his bedroom. It is also completely odourless.

Ok, it won’t work for everyone’s cat, but it comes highly recommended by vets, and it certainly helps my cat get through the many fireworks that go off all year round.
It takes about 24 hours to take effect, and you should see a calmer cat. Mine loves whatever scent it emits, and rubs his chin on it. Happy cat, happy huma
Useful for introducing new cats
I ordered this when I got 2 new nervous cats. I have had this before and it does indeed calm highly strung out cats. I recommend this product. This is the refills only so make sure you already have the plugin.
Can't believe it worked!
Our cat was waking us up every moring at 545am and even after feedign him he would continue holwing until we got up. The vet recommended a pheromone to help. We plugged this one in and the next moring we woke up to our alarms at 730am, shoocked it worked so well!
I first purchased this product pre Xmas for all the multi-cultural fireworks displays that would happen in the area.
I found the initial one bottle with plug fitting easy to use & really helped my nervy feline friend to relax more instead of stress hiding.
He slept more than usual, but was a bit more friendly round the dwelling.
(As an ex stray abandoned / abused this was progress.)
I have since bought the 3x refills as there is demolition works going on near by which as well as noisy creates a huge change in physical environment. The Feliway is helping my cat friend adjust & be less nervousso that’s a paws/thumbs up from the both of us.

Been using these for a few months now.
My cat has always been timid around anyone that comes in our house. Since starting to use this she comes in more, still doesn’t let people pet her, but it’s a step in the right direction her even coming in the house. Hopefully the longer I use them the more friendly she’ll ge
I’ve been using this for a year before writing a review. And to express how much of an impact it’s had. Let me explain my cats back story..
I started out as a foster home for her in November 2020, she has been an abused and abandoned cat, by the age of 3 she’d already had 3 homes and spent a year in a cattery, they wanted to try and temporary placement in a single adult household where she would be the only pet (I should have seen this was a ploy a mile off). She had issues of attacking people, particularly ankles. The charity explained it wasn’t in an aggressive way and they suspected she had been taken away from her mum too young. She settled in almost immediately and wasn’t going for my ankles, I enjoyed the company and she was really affectionate, so I adopted her.
We had a few bumpy moments of ankle attacks, and a couple of Incidents where I was injured but I understood she was an abused and abandoned cat, never scolded her and moved on.
FAST-FORWARD to December 2022 and my flat was literally drenched in cat pee in a very short period of time. Following an expensive trip to the vet which included two nurses and the vet all in full PPE, a urine sample and behaviour/UTI medicated food, the vet said she is suffering with severe anxiety, there was a recommendation of a behaviour therapist but at 500 an hour that was ruled out immediately.
We had tried calming plug ins before (a particular brand that sounds similar to Ret Pemedy) but the plug in got ripped out the wall by my furry friend. So I was hesitant when he suggested Feliway. He explained the difference in ingredients and by this point I just want the smell of cat pee gone, so gave it ago.
Now, I’m not going to sit here and say it’s perfect. It’s not. However, we have gone from 2/3 pee incidents a day to 2/3 a month. When she does pee it’s typically in the same places so I know where to check and clean daily as well as weekly cat pee hunts zoflora (pet) in hand. This combined with the food and a slight change in lifestyle (she is no longer a house cat as she was jumping out of first floor windows and is a lot happier and relaxed when allowed out) it is now at a stage where its manageable.
Don’t get me wrong, when it’s running low or she is having a blip there is a huge change in behaviour and the amount of pee, which is why I have this on save and subscribe.
Overall, I’m happy with it and she is mostly happy with it, but at this point I’m too afraid of changing it because. Cat pee stinks.
I have found this product to be very useful for my extremely anxious and jumpy cat and I believe it can potentially benefit many, although not all cats. I have tested the product when moving bedrooms, when workmen have been noisy in the house, when my cat has been spooked or ill and I have done control experiments where I have kept the environment the same but tested my cats reaction with and without the feliway plugin.
I have noticed if I run out or stop using the product my cat becomes extra anxious and jumpy, scared of all noises and generally not tolerating any change at all. If I resume using the product she calms down without about 48 hours. She also often sniffs the dispenser with great interest which does show me that she is picking up a scent. I personally find for my current cat this is very effective, but a friend and I have done some similar testing on his cat and his cat becomes unhappy when the feliway product is switched on. I also have friends who found the product useful at first but after awhile the cat did not respond in the same way.
Overall I this product is a good risk to take. Try it during a period of change or stress or just to make a jumpy cat’s home environment more calm.
Its not really affordable enough to have them in every room (which I would ideally like) but if you have a ‘safe space’ for the cat, or wherever they like to sleep then I think its a good investment and worth a try. If you buy one of these and find it does not work for your cat, please freegle it. There are many people with pets who would benefit from the product but its higher price tag means its not accessible to everybody. Its more of a specialist item and a good product for many.
