Flexi Giant Neon Tape Black Large 8m Retractable Dog Leash/Lead for dogs up to 50kgs/110lbs

Compact strength

Thanks to the iconic design, the flexi Giant houses a 8 m / 10 m extra long and strong tape lead in a very compact casing. All elements of this lead are designed to provide extra stability to the needs of active and powerful dogs.

Reliable control – the brake system

With the flexi brake system, you are always in control of your dog. When the brake button is pushed, the lead instantly stops and is securely held at exactly that length. Easy to use with one hand.

Extra freedom on the lead

Enjoy the extra-long retractable tape lead that is designed for walking your dog in open areas where it can enjoy lots of extra “freedom on the lead”. The tape lead that extends up to 8 m / 10 m is very resistant and ideal for powerful, larger dogs. The flexi tape guidance offers high comfort, ensuring that the tape will follow your dog in every direction, while smoothly rolling-out and retracting. When not in use, the tape fully retracts up to the chromed hook.

Ergonomic design

The ergonomic soft grip and the optimal weight distribution make the flexi Giant a very convenient and comfortable tool.

Well made feels solid, like the fact you can see the reel, this is our second one had the first for years and was used every day so felt confident that the quality would be good.

Very impressed able to keep control lead doesn’t tangle I purchased the size up to the size suggested as I find it helps when my dog reaches the end of the lead, but overall very pleased

I needed something for winter instead of a long line as my hands were getting cold and wet constantly. This is ideal for our German shepherd (38kg). Lead is bright yellow and highly visible, chunky for an extendable. He has tested it’s durability several times by having zoomies – it has held up well. Easy to adjust the length and holds up well to strong pullers. Not too heavy considering how durable it is. Retracts faster than he can run, clip is heavy duty too.

Bought for a large energetic Labrador. I was hopeful but not sure it would be a strong enough lead, as sometimes he bolts. But honestly the lead feels strong and safe in the hand. I recommend this product.

Really happy with this purchase. Its a great build quality and I feel really in control when walking my dog. Only thing is it is quite heavy but I’d prefer that because my dog is 28kg and I needed something sturdy to keep control of him. There is no where to hold poo bags or a bowl so I bought a bum bag for that!

This was a great purchase, I’m really not a fan of the retractable leads that have a thin wire but my long line kept getting muddy and sandy. Perfect solution and great quality!

My dog is a large Staffie. She is young and strong but this lead is perfect. The less as d is nice and long which gives her freedom to sniff around whilst being under control, the lead feels strong also and is bright yellow/green which is great for walks in the gloomy winter weather.

Have just received this product and used it twice now. It is comfortable with a good sized hand grip, the brake and lock are very easy to use, and if the dog bites through the lead it is easily accessible to do a repair, unlike my previous flexi lead.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBought this lead for my dog that I’ve only had for a month. She’s two and a half and because I’m still getting to know her, I needed a lead to give her a bit of freedom while she’s on her walk and so she can get as much exercise as possible. The lead is sturdy, well made, the locking mechanism on the handle is very easy to use & get used to. The lead is a brilliant length for her to run free on her walk in designated areas. Due to being a bit nervous of her pulling the lead, I made my male friend hold one end of the lead and pull on it as hard as he could to see if the lead itself was solidly attached and it wouldn’t snap the lead tape itself. Happily this passed the test and I feel very secure knowing she can’t run away and that the lead is secure. I would highly recommend this product. My dog seems to love her walks even more

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA strong sturdy lead which works well with the hyper dog we got if for who we dare not let off the lead. Does exactly what its designed for. Would recommend if you have a large dog. Only negatives are the cost as its not cheap and the weight of it as its probably twice the weight of a standard retractable dog lead but has to be for large dogs its designed for.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThick, solid, really well built and the lead is the thick tape style as opposed to the thin string style that I personally believe should be banned due to the possibility of serious injury these string types can inflict.
The yellow lead is also reflective so excellent at night or in low light condition.
I have this 8 meter lead and their 10 meter lead, both are top quality, they have been dropped and dragged by dogs suddenly freaked at the huge plastic thing retracting towards them and apart from a few scrapes they are as good as new, the 10 meter lead is 5 years old now and this 8 meter version I have had for 4 years.
Made in Germany and they do not seem capable of making inferior products so quality is assured.
Strong enough to haul back a large dog but used in my case for miniature pinschers.
They retract smoothly and very quickly and due to the slot the lead retracts into they very rarely retract twisted.
Easy to sew if a dog chews through them which can happen if you are not being attentive. (Guess how I know?)
Not the cheapest but as is usually the case you get what you pay for.
Well made, reflective and less chance of injury to our fur babies so totally worth i

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersAfter getting a pup who seems to keep growing, I’ve got through leads rather quickly.

But, this was the first rather expensive one & I got it because he has a fair bit of strength and typically rope/string retracable leads weren’t filling me with confidence when he really “goes” despite the supposed weight limits.

This one however, the unit itself has a reassuring heft to it – could certainly double as a weapon, feels well built and sounds well built.

And while retractable leads aren’t ideal for control, I certainly feel this is as good as it gets.

The bright yellow lead is difficult to miss, it’ll be great for evening walks when the darker nights come & it operates very smoothly.

It is heavier than smaller/normal flexi retractables, but most of that weight feels like reassuring heft rather than being ‘too heavy’

Size was a consideration for me when it came to 10m vs 8m (old being 5m) but I think 8m is perfectly acceptable in hand when you consider the added heft of the unit and the added strength of the lead.

I’ve also noticed it’s put together with conventional screws, so possibly user serviceable should it ever have an issue.

Pleased with this purchase.. first road test and it’s comfortable to hold, lead string isn’t as thin as other ones I’ve had, and 8m is a great length for being out where/ when there aren’t a lot of people or other dogs around

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhen people give a bad review for dog chewing it, thats silly. U need to have common sense and dont leave dog to do that. This is fab and super strong for my big sharpei bulldog. Doesnt get stuck or tangle, lock is fab. Visible at night. Downside: no grooves for fingers so they are squashed. Its really HEAVY which in a way is good so it doesnt fly. Its large so my hand strains. The freedom means if my dog decides to run he pulls the arm off me+must be harming my back. the trauma to them all has left me in bits. Sore arms, wrists, hands, fingers worse every day. Its great as a lead but ive had to switch with the shorter one to give myself time to heal. Keep an eye on ur dog eg while closing ur gate because theyll kill your arm as they run freely away in excitement and its easy to misjudge how long you have because it does give u freedom to not have to wait on him to sniff or pee with 8m then he catches up. Im a 5ft4 woman, fit but not a body builde

I bought this as I felt unsafe with my previous lead with cyclists not being able to see it when it was extended. This lead solves that problem.
It’s also nice and long and easy to lock and unlock.
The only disadvantage is it is a bit bulkier and heavier than some leads available but I find this only a.minor issue

Hunted high and low for a decent strong retractable lead for our dogs that are not allowed off lead (for the safety of the squirrels!) Read countless reviews and chose this one.
Well worth the money, easy to use button system, no faffy sliding that gets stuck, the weight of the lead is similar to others this side but much easier to use. Liked it so much ordered a second one for our other dog.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersWe’ve had our dog (lab pointer cross) for almost three years. We have gone through more leads than I care to mention. In the beginning I placed more focus on lead deals (e.g. a lead < 15 gbp). After the first few snaps and breaks (when she was a lot younger she had a tendency to turn her head and bite the lead and after a few goes, she'd eventually snap the lead herself. Then I got a metal spring coil (from ancol) which extended the life of any lead considerably as she would turn her head to bite the lead and all she'd be able to reach was a metal coil! Some time over the past I would guess 24 months, my missus bought an "expensive" lead from the petshop. Up until recently I had no idea what the brand was. We still have that lead albeit it has stopped fully retracting so it's not always used as its a pain to control her in close quarters of people. It turns out that long lasting lead is a flexi lead. My latest budget lead (yes, it was 15 gbp), snapped whilst out walking through a forest about a month ago so had been keeping an eye out for a new one. The flexi leads are 40-50 quid in our local big chain petshops. But on amazon its c. 25 quid. I bit the bullet and got it. In addition to this flexi giant 8m lead, I got the latest ancol bungee extender. This is a must have for any owners dog who pulls the bejaysis out of you whilst walking. It will save your arm sockets. Our dog is 28kg and she's a lively one even at 3. Her nature is to run in front like a maniac, sniffing, looking for squirrels and rabbits or anything that moves. The bungee extension c. 12 inches, clips onto the clip of the lead and then clips onto her harness. When she pulls out in front, the bungee takes a lot of the load and tires her more quickly as there is fierce resistance. It feels a bit weird in the beginning but you get used to it. I've taken her out for a few forest trail walks where she runs in front like a bat out of hell and the lead coupled with the bungee extension hold up well. The yellow neon tape is great. Would always have had black tapes before so was hard sometimes to see exactly where she was, especially at night. Great visibility with the neon yellow tape. The amazon review page(s) can be a bit misleading. There appears to be two review pages for the exact same lead. One of them is quite negative if you sort by most recent reviews (regular comments about snapping tapes) whereas the other page is glowing. The answer to the negativity is - get the extreme bungee extension from Ancol. The retractable lead by itself isn't enough if your dog is a maniac like mine whilst out running!

I bought this for my 26kg+ labradoodle as living in a rural location I can’t let him off safely. He’s very happy on it. The only downside is if he pulls, which he does, he would pull it out of my hand and be off. My husband fitted a safety strap I put around my wrist that is permanently fitted to the handle so he can’t pull it out of my hand.
