I love the cordless range of these products. I don’t have a huge garden so these are perfect for me and my family

Good packaging and easy to set up. Having never used a hedge trimmer before I soon got the hang of it. We have hedges surrounding the whole property so I was out there for a good 2 hours and the battery didn’t fail. What I got for my efforts was quite achy shoulders and numb hands but that’s probably because I’m not fit. Really cute through hedges well and even some of the thicker branches. Very pleased with this purchase.

As a woman needing to use this item often, it is important to me how it handles generally. I found it light to use, and a powerful blow emits, also has easy on/off usage. First blower I have used without an electric cable to cope with, and this is much easier. I am pleased with my purchase.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI already had a heavy and cumbersome blower and vacuum and was looking for something a bit easier to handle.
I was a little concerned about battery life and weight. However these concerns were ungrounded.
The battery life is excellent. I have yet to completely run out but there is drop off of power after about 15 mins.
The size and weight is just right and can easily be used one handed. Power is very good lifting most wet leaves but not disturbing small stones.
    Overall highly recommend.

Best grass trimmer I have ever used bought why did I wait so long. I have also managed to think out how to cut edges.

I found this a very simple, effective and well-thought-out system. Everything clicks together easily and feels well-made and sturdy yet pretty lightweight. The brght orange colour makes it stand out against the green of the hedge and lawn and meant it I could find it much more quickly than my old green coloured trimmer!

It comes with two batteries so one can be charging and ready to go when the other one dies. The batteries charge relatively quickly and last a decent amount of time, and I was surprised as just how powerful this system was – battery technology really has moved on.

It’s quite lightweight and ergonomically designed, I found it very comfortable to hold and use and it really did feel as powerful as a mains equivalent with no trailing wire to cut through or power socket to worry about.

I think the price is very reasonable for a device which gives you three different tools and the spare battery included as well seals the deal for me.

Cordless technology is improving all the time. I was surprised how small and lightweight the batteries (2 in the pack) and charger are compared to some cordless garden tools I already have. The batteries charge quickly, hold their charge well and power remains quite consistent right up to the point they completely discharge. They also don’t get hot in the process – the older ones I have cannot be put on charge again until they have cooled down.

In this combo you get a strimmer, hedge trimmer and leaf blower (the blower I haven’t actually tried – it’s the wrong time of year for that). The handle unit, into which the battery is inserted, needs to be switched between the three of them – just a button push to release and then slot into the next tool. Minor assembly – with no tools required – is necessary for the strimmer- attaching the bottom guard, which is a little bit of a pain in the backside to slot it in, and attaching the forward handle to it too – but that’s it. I didn’t need to even look at the instructions with regard to assembly or use – it’s all rather obvious.

It’s all quite light and easy to handle. There’s plenty of power and endurance here – the package should serve well unless you have a large garden.

Although this seems a bit pricey right now and the other fittings (hedge trimmer etc) don’t seem to be seperately available yet, I was very impressed with this unit as a strimmer.

It is way more powerful than I was expecting and the battery offers strong and prolonged power.
It isn’t exactly light but is easy to move around with the well-placed handle. Especially as the battery end acts as a counterbalance.

My garden has a lumpy lawn and this could actually replace a mower as it cuts the grass tufts down as well as doing the edging.

There is a system where more strimming cord can be pulled out from the central spinning drum (obvs when it’s not spinning!) but I found the cord to be robust and didn’t snap. Unlike others I’ve had which infuriatingly kept snapping off.

The curved shape of the arm is a bit odd but in practice this trimmer works a dream!

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful. Actually better than the mains one I had.

I’m really enjoying using this set to keep my garden in check. I am not a keen gardener so I am pleased for anything that makes the job easier.

The strimmer and hedge trimmer have been fab. Whilst not the most powerful of equipment (when compared to a petrol equivalent) it is powerful enough to keep my small hedges in check. I also prefer it to my old mains powered set which I was always worried about cutting through the cords of.

The battery is light and lasts a decent amount of time.

I particularly like this trimmer as it’s so lightweight I can do a lot of the garden edging and trim around plants and trees with ease and without getting shoulder ache. It was easy to assemble it, clipping on the guard, screwing on the head and charging up the two batteries – so you can use one, whilst the other is charging. The nylon cord lasted me a good time as well. This would suit most people

I owned a ‘strimmer’ many years ago, and didn’t particularly like it. We have a smallish, ‘L’ shaped garden, and it’s mostly grass (‘Lawn’ sounds a bit pretentious for what it is). We’ve previously used a rotary lawn mower, and although its OK, I find it’s a bit savage, insofar as it seems to pull up grass as much as cut it. This Flymo C-Link 20V Grass Trimmer is easily assembled, gets a goodly amount of time out of its battery charge, and isn’t too heavy to toe around. Very good product, and I am happy to recommend it.

I have a small corded Flymo strimmer which for whatever reason I don’t seem to use anymore. This new cordless strimmer is really good, if a little large when stored. It looks big and cumbersome, but the forward handle can be placed to balance the unit perfectly, so it is very easy to use without hurting your back. Just used it to take the winter growth of grass from around our front pathway and it breezed through it. Reasonably quiet during use also. The battery motor part can be shared with other tools in the range, but i dont have those. There is a ‘charge level’ button with indicators on the battery; quite useful. A small amount of assembly is required, but it’s simple. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersTechnological advances in battery performance have enabled tools like this grass trimmer to become more popular in recent years. It’s powered by a 20v Li-Ion battery which weighs just 400g and charges from zero to full in around two hours.

Flymo call this a trimmer, but is really more accurately described as a traditional strimmer for cutting the edges of lawns and flower beds. As with most strimmers the cutter (30cm diameter) is a traditional nylon cord on a reel, fitted in the normal way. The controls are on the powerhead which is detachable and compatible with other Flymo C-link products. These currently include the hedge trimmer and leaf blower.

A little assembly is required – insert the battery, push and click the powerhead on, snap on the cutting guard, and screw on the adjustable handle (it can be moved up or down the main shaft). All done without the need for any tools.

In use the trimmer feels lightweight and easy to operate, and it also feels nice not to be restricted by a mains cable trailing around. For moderate lengths of grass and other vegetation I found it as effective as a 240v mains equivalent, and seems a little quieter too.

The dislike I have with the trimmer is the curved shaft which makes it a little clumsy to manoeuvre and awkward to store in the shed/garage compared to a conventional straight shaft design – it has a tendency to fall over when trying to stand it up. A hanging bracket would easily resolve this, but it does make it a little frustrating when all you want to do is lean it against a garden fence or wall.

It’s a good cordless tool, but is much more expensive than a comparable 240v mains operated strimmer.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersYears ago I had the hedge trimmer component of this set. It was good, but the older NiCad battery was phenomenally heavy and eventually it suffered battery fade and died. This new set is a huge improvement.

By contrast to my earlier experience, the battery is relatively light and you receive two, ensuring a battery can be on charge as well as in use. As with all Li-ion batteries, charging is quick and discharge is consistent until it is flat. Changing the battery unit between heads is very simple, just a “click” mechanism.

The strimmer works very well. Not quite as fast and powerful as an electric strimmer, but perfectly effective. It is very nicely weighted, so will be usable for anyone regardless of hand and arm strength. The hedge trimmer attachment is surprisingly powerful. I have several hedges, including a thick laurel hedge. Whilst there’s not too much growth yet at this time of year, there is sufficient for me to prove its effectiveness. Unlike a mains or petrol trimmer, you aren’t going to be able to cut through anything too thick (or you can persist, but it takes a very long time). However it’s great for the leaves themselves and the small stalks. As with the strimmer, it’s not unreasonably heavy or unwieldy, so trimming your hedge isn’t overly hard work.

The leaf blower I found to be the least effective of the three components. It’s ok for dry leaves and small pieces of debris, but you won’t b e able to make too much progress if you’re trying to tackle substantial quantities of waste.

Overall, I’m really -pleased with this set and it will have regular use through the Spring and Summer. We plan to down-size shortly to a house with a small to medium size garden and I have every intention of giving away my more powerful tools and relying solely on this excellent and practical set of tools
