As with all the BBC Attenborough 4K discs this is a stunner, From The Resolution to the HDR every shot is mesmerising.

The atmos Surround is also just breathtaking.

BBC pull out yet another reference 4K box set, This is perfect to show off your kit.

My only complaint is as with all other Planet series on 4K they are missing the scenes which David Attenborough is in and also missing the “Out in the cold” segment’s from the end of each episode, Although they are included on the Blu-ray it would have been nice to have them on the discs also.

I am always fond of BBC Earth productions but this series really tops it showing really amazing pictures. But at the same time it is frightening when you think of our future. And after having seen episode 6 I nearly lost it. I became very furious. This should be obligatory for politicians around the world. And it should be shown in schools so children can learn – and understand – what we are doing to nature and ourselves by continuing the way we have always acted. I am already 74 but I have 2 sons, their wives, and 3 ganddaughters who will be affected by not changing anything of too little. Because at some point – the point of no return or tipping point – it will be too late.

…I wasn’t aware when I bought it that it would not play on my US-based DVD player 🙁 US buyers should wait for the US release…

Up to the usual high standard that is the hallmark of an Attenborough series.

The 4K ULTRA HD Blu Ray disc version of this series has greatly improved sound and picture quality over the standard Blu Ray disc version when played through a 4K ULTRA HD Blu Ray player and a 4K ULTRA HD TV with HDR (High Dynamic Range).

Top marks one again for David and his team in his dedication and determination to educate us about things we may otherwise never know about in this world we all call home.
