Lovely little craft set for little space lovers, this is what I would consider to be great for a rainy day activity.

This set consists of polystyrene balls of different sizes and modelling clay (plasticine type) plus all the bits and bobs you need to make a mini solar system plus a model of planet earth and it’s layers. Makes a nice little science and geography lesson demonstrating the planet and solar system.

Aged for 5 years plus which I think is age appropriate, the younger end may require some assistance but all very fun for craft loving children. The included booklet also has other related activities too, the children enjoyed working on this. Overall not a bad set and fair value at 13.99 (at the time of review).

A fun yet educational craft kit. It’s basic enough that kids can do it without help and they’ve the option to make the planets lifelike or paint them as they wish. Provided a good few hours of fun plus the finished product can then be displayed.

I do really like these sets for rainy day activities. This set didn’t disappoint and my son really enjoyed getting creative building the solar system which he now proudly hangs in his room. It kept him well occupied and as he is a bit younger it made for a good activity which the adults could join in with. I am very happy to recommend this set and will be looking out for more sets like i

I have a 6 year old who loves reading about the earth and the other planets in our solar system. This was perfect for her. There is a lot to do in the box and it kept her occupied for a very long time. She especially loved the time we spent together making her own solar system. Excellent activity for kids. Would also make a great gift.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWe’ve been really impressed by this art and craft set. It is much better than you might think from the packaging, and has provided inspired fun for two children, 7 and 10, over several days.

We’ve enjoyed making and painting the hanging planets, the rocket door hanger and we’re currently working on the space black box scene.

    Nice quality.

Some adult supervision will be needed, tying string, glue application etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Out of this world!

Space Craft by Galt Toys is a fantastic creative set of materials that provides hours of fun.

There are several sets, and in this particular one, items such a constellation model, planet mobile and the Earth’s core can be created.

My 8 year old son and I spent sometime playing with the set and the included guide is very useful to ensure items are being created as intended. Compared to the other sets, we found this one a tad more difficult to work with.

This would make a fantastic present at the current price of 13.99. But check out the other Galt crafts sets which are the same price as there is probably a set to cover most interests.

This craft set is all about space, it’s presented in a colourful and informative box that is very giftable.

Inside the box you get quite a large set of craft supplies and accessories to create different space projects. At 13.99 (Aug ’22) you’d be hard pushed to buy all of the elements individually making it great value for money. You do however need a basic craft kit to use alongside so bare this in mind if taking the set on holiday etc you need additionally table protection, torch, knife, scissors, sticky tape and a pencil and ruler.

Great set, nicely presented with plenty of supplies to get you started. Perfect as a birthday gift or stocking filleror just school holiday entertainment!! Happy to recommend.

Goodness! This set is much better than expected! There are a heap of activities to do, if your child is into science to the London museum scene then the hands-on nature of this set after a visit to the Science Museum is not only cheaper than buying from the museum gift shop, but also worth your while.

The activits are keeping are daughter engaged in these grimmer, gloomy rainy summer holidays as of right now. With only a few weeks to go before she joins year 3, this is a perfect recap on what she’s been learning so far and then some for the start of the upcoming year.

Everything you need is included, including the dough to create a slice through of the Earth’s core.

We’ve had a few sets from Galt – this one takes the cake!

Absolutely fantastic craft for children interested in outer space. I love how most things are included inside and that it is clear before opening what things you need to get. The things that aren’t included are easy to obtain too, things that you’d have in the house like scissors. The instructions are easy to follow and the clay isn’t messy and doesn’t stick to everything. My 5 year old and 3 year old grandchildren were both able to get involved in this with assistance and so it is good for multiple ages. I think a child 7 and over could do it with limited assistance or independently. I really like aswell how it isn’t a craft that isn’t done in all one go, we’ve spent a few days getting things complete. Really great value when you consider what items are inside. Definitely recommend

There’s lots crammed into this craft set. Sneaky bit of education too! The instructions are all you need to get some pretty good (if not quite as pictured) results. Our four, eight and ten year olds really like this space themed set. A great one to have on standby for a holiday time filler as all you need is there really. Adult guidance is needed even with the older child just to avoid wasting the carefully included resources by mistake. The sea set is worth a look too. Highly recommended.

As an adult, I looked at the kit and wondered ‘is that it?’ and thought the contents very basic. Then I handed it over to the space obsessed small person and realised that it was pitched just right in terms of complexity, and that every item was a treasure, and that the simplicity, along with the well thought out activities actually sparked engagement and interactive play.

At 13.99, as someone with a huge craft stash I’m still thinking ‘how much?’ but then I realise how convenient having everything together is, as well as having the excellent project information right there.

Suitable for 4 upwards, I’d say, with active adult supervision.

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple kit but great play and educational value

Another lovely set from Galt. Lovely set of activities based around space and the solar system.

I’m waiting until my 5 year old has a space or planets topic in school to start doing some of the activities but think we’ll make the solar system model using the wooden block before then as she is desperate to make that.

It’s not going to look like the pictures but we’ll have fun doing it and learning about the size of each planet and what they look like!

The recommended age is 5 years plus but I think you could do most of the craft activities with a 4 year old if supervised or even a 3 year old if they’ve got a particular interest in planets and space.

This would make a lovely gift for the price and would be well received by most younger primary school children.
