Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFor the price, you really can’t complain. As far as chest straps go this is very accurate, feels comfortable to wear and often forget I have it on. Also, easy to wash to prevent it from smelling bad.

Does what it says pretty good for tracking zones I am happy with it. Of course doesn’t do everything like the pro version so don’t expect running analytics. Seems decent so fa

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI wanted this too long that decided to get me one. Highly recommended. Cannot do my bike ride or indoor training without this. Accurate reading, easy and fast to pair. You just need to put it on and it switches ON itself. Under 10s to connect with my Garmin Explorer GPS and Zwift app.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis is great very accurate ask to use, very comfortable when you have it on

Works and connects to everything I use and has never let me down..

Garmin products may be a little

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersWorks ok with iOS over Bluetooth but doesn’t transmit RR interval data for HRV measurements. Maybe it does on Android using ANT+, but if like me you’re on iOS and you want this functionality, you won’t find it here. Try the Polar H10 instead.

Have had 2 x Garmin Run HRMs but they both stopped working within 12 months. Not prepared to try a 3rd so went for the Dual-HRM instead. Fingers crossed let’s hope this lasts a bit longer .works pretty well and connects to all Mr training devices.

I bought this unit to replace my previous Garmin HRM (which had lasted a good 10 years). The sensor itself is great quality and the strap is soft and comfortable. I’d definitely recommend although Garmin HRMs are cheap they are good quality. I bought mine during a promo so saved a little money.

This is my 3rd Garmin HR strap / meter. The previous 2 have lasted >3-4 years each and I think just gave up with age – both the straps failed and I could no longer connect to the sensor unit either. I have never carried out the care/washing process – just wear 3-4 times a week including heavy sweat session on the turbo. But I am careful keeping it flat to try and avoid stressing any connections in the strap itself.
There are cheaper alternatives but in this case I think its worth the cost. This is a later model than I have had before with Bluetooth as well as ANT+ – but I have only used the ANT+ option connecting to a Garmin head uni

I’ve had an older version of the heart rate strap, which only had the ant+ protocol. It had become erratic, after several years regular use and I decided it was time to upgrade.

This one has dual protocols ant+ and Bluetooth. It paired readily to my Garmin and to my laptop running zwift. The battery cover has changed and now has torx bolts instead of screws. A torx driver was supplied, I need to remember where I leave it. The new monitor says batteries last 3 years, which is at least double the life of the old ones.

As before you need to make sure the terminals connect, which may mean wetting the contacts on the back of the strap. Static from some fabrics may also affect it.

All good so far however – it feels a step up from my old one.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersTo start with this took a while to figure out how to connect to the various devices, but once I had it works very effectively and reliably. Much more accurate than the Garmin Vivoactive 3 I use it with, but weirdly you can’t connect it as a device on Garmin Connect, but syncs well via Bluetooth and works no problem with other non-Garmin stuff like Proform, indeed I’d say better. Easy to wear, comfortable and doesn’t move. As it’s more accurate I tend to use it for running, weights, cardio and even yoga to ensure I’m in the right zone. Still use the watch for walking though as it’s more convenient. Had the old ANT+ version, but this one has Bluetooth and is so much more usable and convenient. Can’t evaluate battery life as only been using for a few months.

A lot more accurate than the H/R monitor on a watch and connects easily to my Fenix 5X and the Garmin app on the iPhone.
I’ve used it whilst running, cycling, rowing and it stays in place. It has come undone whilst Cross Training and on a circuit but it’s easy to place back on.
Battery life on these are terrible. I use mine once or twice a day and it may only last 3 – 4 months. If you change the battery (2032) you only find that the H/R becomes faulty.
If you train a lot it’s worth buying as compared to other H/R monitors it’s the most accurate.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersThis heart rate monitor chest strap is easy to put on (Garmin recommend you moisten the sensor pads first) and comfortable to wear.

Mine connected immediately without any problems to both my Garmin Vivoactive HR watch through Bluetooth and my BKool cycling simulator programme through Ant+. Once connected it stayed connected without any issues and provided a continuous readout which appeared to be accurate.

However, there are a couple of disappointing aspects:

Firstly, the Heart Rate Monitor will not connect directly to Garmin’s own ‘Connect’ app on your phone (rather ironic given the title of the app). Instead you have to sync your watch with the app and pick up the data that way.

Secondly, there appears to be no way of getting any decent detailed historic data, other than the very clunky heart trace chart on Garmin Connect showing your heart rate over the past four hours.

Garmin do offer ‘Garmin Fit’ on iOS and Android but this only appears to work if you connect your Heart Rate Monitor to your watch through Ant+. iPhones do not offer that connectivity, so if you own an iPhone you will need to fork out another 44-45 to buy a Garmin ANT+ Adapter for iPhone plus more on top of that for a Lightning to 30-pin adapter if, like most now, you own a later generation iPhone! In other words, it’s pretty much a non-starter.
