Im impressed, feels good in the hand and does it’s job. Good quality doesn’t feel cheap. Was going to buy a bluepoint reversible cutoff wheel, this is the same thing.
Yes it’s not the cheapest. But this will out last you. The revers is not a gimmick but really hand. We have all used one and had to keep head out of way due to sparks. Or worse sparks flying near fuel or other combustible. No longer.
Use it for my works, its good, there is no vibration, quite and handy..
Great impact. Zero issues. Works well in a heavy equipment shop.
I bought this thinking maybe it would be better than my IR 2145 QImax. This gun does not hit as hard as the 2145 and it’s disappointing for the money you might as well get the 2145 or just use the IR2850. My 2145 finally wore out after 4 years of hard use. I was going to buy another one but IR stopped making them in America so I got this 2246 for way to much. After using this a few times I put it in my bottom drawer where the garbage tools go and ordered a Chinese made 2145. I’m hoping this made in China one will last as long as the other. It does hit just as hard as my old 2145
This thing is powerful enough to remove lug nuts installed with a 1″ drive impact. Not crazy about the plastic directional controls, but it’s a hoss.
So far this tool has worked well. Decent power and the reverse direction feature is great to have. This means an added screw when changing the wheel but no real issue to do that. The cutoff wheels that come with it are worthless. Someone mentioned they were good but they obviously have not used 3M wheels.
Great saw for precision cutting particularly in auto body work. Quiet, fast and well worth the price.
I have used Ingersoll rand products for a long time. Has plenty of power and actually pretty comfortable to use. Down side is that IRS other products are suffering from poor design, specifically their 1/2 in. drive impacts and angle grinders..triggers should be made of other material than plastic.
only thing if you use it in reverse you must use the lock srew on the shank or the nut will come un done
The Ingersoll Rand 426 3″ cut off tool when combined with a good thin disc cuts through steel or aluminium like a hot knife through butter.
This is my first rotary cutting tool besides a dremel which is much smaller and like a toy in comparison.
I was hesitant at first as you can read deep into comparisons between different brands and models, particularly when it comes to power or horsepower ratings.
I can confirm this tool does the job and will cut through pipe work, exhausts, car body panels, unistrut, box section and general sheet steel easily.
Don’t buy a cheaper no name brand, buy this and buy once!
It’s exactly what my husband wanted. Was very well priced.
This thing is a beast cuts 18ga sheet metal like butter. I bought a cheap no name one at first and it was cut an inch and get stuck. I should have bought this one the first time it’s amazing.
I like it for now ,didnt use it too much ,but it does the job. Nice cut , used on soft wood ,plywood, fiberglass.
However on the question I asked about using normal bi metal hacksaw blades I received such a answer “Hi,
Thanks for your question – Our 529 Reciprocating Saw takes our PF Series Saw Blade: P4FS-6, which can also be found on Amazon.
Due to the varied nature of Hacksaw Blade Designs for specific manufacturers, we only recommend using Official Ingersoll Rand blades”
It would be just enough to say “Yes , you can on your own risk” because this reciprocating saw it takes regular hacksaw blades ,just you need to snap them on half and I am not planing to use your original blades as the company I work for supply only bi-metal hacksaw blades. Thank you , I promise will let you know when this saw dies 😉 Thats all.
This is by far the best body saw I’ve used. It’s so quiet and smooth as butter which makes it easy to start a cut . I’ve only used it 4 times, awesome so far. My first was a HF, I still have it, works ok when it works but it sticks really bad and loud with a lot of vibration. My second was an SP geared supposed to be the best way to go on these saws . It broke after about 5 times using it. I repaired it and used it 3 more times and broke again. I paid around 200.00 for it.
I’ve been using this non stop cutting out floorpans, cowls, etc on a car I’m restoring and this saw is AWESOME!!! It’s strong, fast, and cuts through automotive sheet metal like a hot knife through butter. You can cut compund curves and circles like a band saw and did I mention it cuts quickly? It is also very smooth cutting and the anti vibration claim is 100% true. Great air saw, I 100% recommended this thing!
Size is good. Lightweight. Vibration to a minimum for what it is. Precision cutting. My husband uses it for many of his automotive uses and has good things to say about. For reference, it cuts lightweight aluminum, heavy weight aluminum and a steele bumper on our Jeep. So far cuts cleanly.
Very VERY quiet and well balanced. I did have trouble with tightening blades in this at first but now no trouble somehow. I no longer grab my 4 1/2″ rotory cut-off disk for everthing. 6 months or so now and I’m very happy now with this purchase!
It’s definitely heavy but it gets the job done. The only way to regulate the impact is from a regulator. It doesn’t do anything when you turn the dial next to the trail do anything when you turn the dial next to the trigge
I especially like the redirect on the spent air, no cold hands.
Bottom line is that if you have the money, you should definitely get one like this. You will absolutely not be disappointed. The saw is very comfortable to use.
This was a birthday gift for my son, so he picked it out from others he had looked at. He is very satisfied with the product and had nothing negative to say about the product.
