A great water bottle
Just the right size to carry around all day and helps me make sure i drink enough water. It looks and feels great. The lock feature is a little stiff but at least it doesn’t leak. I bought the bigger one also but mainly use this size.
Leak proof bottle
Finally, a leak proof bottle! It took me long to find these bottles, but I’m not going back! Great item, easy to use & it closes properly so it won’t leak in the bag.

Like everything about this bottle
This water bottle is fabulous. It is tough, non drip, lockable and has no smell about it. A pleasure to drink from.
I am just about to order another one, as it has come into its own after me breaking my ankle and not being able to move
for at least the next two weeks. I Can keep them by my side after them being filled up for me and not having to constantly ask.
Leakproof drinks bottle
This is brilliant! I’ve been trying to find a reliable leakproof drink bottle that doesn’t have a screw cap and isn’t made of metal.
This is perfect – good size (although too big for a handbag).
Flip top cap with safety catch for extra security, but seems not to leak anyway.
Flip out carry loop. Dishwasher safe too which is good to clean thoroughly – many of the metal flasks can’t go in the dishwasher.

Good size bottle
I was a bit nervous this bottle wouldn’t seal when I got it as there is a slight gap visible in the lid but it has been fine. I drink a lot of water so I really like the size of this bottle. I also have a 1L one from the same brand which takes up a lot more space in this bag than a 500ml bottle but this one feels like a happy compromise between the two.
The only thing I dislike is that the lid has a chemically taste and this hasn’t gone away with washing.
Nice looking
Nice looking bottles, great capacity. Had a problem with one of them (spout seal came out and got lost) but the company have helped me out and are sending a replacement.

Our whole family now has at least 2 each. They are durable, go through the dish washer. Also you can purchase spares for any seals that may get lost (if your kids like to fiddle with lids etc). They are a little more expensive than other brands but really worth it. They feel good in the hand (good grip and holding grooves). We have them in different sizes (volumes) and in different colours. They are probably the best brand I’ve tried.
Decent upgrade but no game change
Been using ION 8’s for some time now. I do like this new bottle but it’s no game changer. I found mine to be completely leak proof (make sure you lock the top!), I also feel like this is better made than the previous – seems heavier/thicker – but this comes at a cost – it won’t fit in a bike bottle cage anymore. I had loads of the old ones, but i have stuck with two for now. Worth getting if your old ones back up, but don’t get it to go on a bike.
It's definitely leak proof
After buying a different bottle for more money I was skeptical that this one would be leak proof as it was much cheaper. It is amazing and definitely leak proof. I love this bottle, it has a great flow rate, isn’t too tall and a good quality plastic. Seriously thinking of buying another one.

I brought this as a new work bottle. It is very handy as I can lock it so the children don’t drink out of it. It washes well and doesn’t leak like others I have tried. Highly recommended.
Nice strong bottle but weak holde
Decent soft touch material. Standard Ion8 Removable seals for easy cleaning. I bought that for my 9 yo and the size is quite big for her hand. Picture showing 3 sizes. 350ml, 600ml, 750ml.
Handle broke after just 2 weeks. Disappointed.

Brilliant bottle. I got a few of these in different sizes for my boys to use at schools and leave on poolside to sip during swimming. Very good quality, no leaking, easy to carry around, water flow smoothly and just the right size for mouth, looks good too. Most importantly easy to clean. Not like the bottles we used before, the mould trapped in the sipping area and couldn’t be reached to clean, have to throw away quite often. For this bottle there’s nowhere for mould to hide, great for long term use.
Right size
Brilliant. Used at work as out on the ground all day. Fillup a couple of times and great for the day! Keeps the drink cooler than some cheaper bottles and does not leak!
The perfect cycling bottle (apart from Light Purple ones)
Avoid Light Purple, as both the original and replacement were missing their secondary safety lock catch (and I think someone else alluded to this in a ‘lilac’ review which I think would be the same colour) so I’m guessing an unaddressed production line fault and/or stock of bottles being sold that should have been recalled but the Aqua and Yellow ones I have are great…
I really like this style of cycling bottle that keeps the dirt away from the nozzle-with traditional bottles I find the nozzle gets covered with dirt/splattered flies, even on roads/cycle paths. These fully cover the nozzle, and are easy to drink from.
As, unlike my experiences with traditional bottles, they also don’t leak I also use them as my regular water bottle. The lid includes a hinged loop that could be used to hang the bottle from a carribiner etc. so they adapt nicely to the activity.
The secondary hinged catch is reassuring when putting in a bag, as there’s a possibility the regular one, which is a handy quick-release for the lid, could be triggered otherwise so I feel confident when using this. I’ve found it completely leak proof, with the note that I always make sure the seal, lid and bottle threads are completely dry (as I do with any kind of liquid container that won’t be stored upright/is tilted to drink or pour from).
Good bottle
Had one of these before , good quality , older one had nice strap to hold it by , so only gave this 4 stars .. price is double to what I laud for one a few years ago
I had one small bottle from this brand, at least 4 years old and still doing a great job and looking great. I ordered a larger one and I got tempted by the lilac one. Unfortunately it had a newer lock mechanism (without the “loop” latch) and I found it would open too easily on touch for me to stuff 750 ml of water in backback with a laptop in it with peace of mind.
I sent it back and I will be getting one in blue with the loop latch.
Probably great for people keeping the bottle in an outside pocket and going easy on their luggage, but I would definitely recommend the older closure for more peace of mind.
Otherwise it’s a great company and I would recommend their bottles to anyone: no smell or taste and excellent water tight silicon closures that last ages.

I bought this bottle to replace a previous ion8 bottle I had. The flip top mechanism had broken after 5 years of day to day use. The bottle was still usable but I wanted to ensure it was leakproof still so replaced it.

Really good to hold, the texture feels good, it was easy to clean after the gym, and the top has worked fine for the last several months of use. So far, great purchase.
I’m using it for travels, sports, driving, anything really. It’s wide bot not too much, fitting in the car cup holder. Easy to fill thanks to its wide opening. The security clip makes it harder to accidentally open when in bags etc. Only shame it can’t go into the dishwasher but since it has a wide opening its easy enough to clea

At last no leaks
Purchased for my son to take to work so many times a so called leakproof bottle has leaked soaking the bag but not these a good sturdy lid that has a lock to stop the lid opening until you are ready then its a simple flip down – would recommend
Big and bold - just what I need.
When I initially opened this I thought that the bottle would be too big for my bike bottle holders. Fortunately I was wrong and these fitted very well in the drink holder which I have already reviewed.
I was surprised that the advert stated that it could hold cold fluids to -10 degrees (never would I ever drink anything that cold) and up to a heat of 96 degrees. Now that’s a first for me as all my water bottles only recommend cold drinks.
The bottle holds around 3/4 litre w (750ml) which is excellent so with two bottle I have one a litre and a half for the longer journeys.
This is leakproof – I already have had one for a few months – and the locking mechanism works well.
Very good bottle!
Quite impressed with this bottle, did some minor testing and yes it seems to be leakproof. Good lock system and little handle. The lid’s rubber grip is very handy, and the water spout ensures free flowing water. Overall very good and would recommend.
Two minor drawbacks, personally I would prefer the hand grips slightly higher on the bottle. Also I wish the handle was attached to the bottom lid rather than the top lid, just so the spring lid system doesn’t knock the handle.
I got my first one from another retailer about 2 years ago. It has been so good that I bought 3 more, for my wife and 2 sons just recently. I thought they would come with a cloth strap (like my old one), but the 2 that have arrived so far have a plastic ring at the top. Actually this is easier to clean and more hygienic and I think this could be an improvement in the latest model. But I still like my old one with the carry strap. I don’t know what the most recently ordered one will come with – strap or plastic ring – it depends what’s sent, but I’m not so sure the photos on Amazon’s site are a true representation of the product so I have given it 4 stars.
This really is, however, the best water bottle I have ever owned. It is well designed and engineered. There is no vacuum when you drink, but if you tilt it up too much it might just leak a little from the air hole when you drink, but you’ll soon learn how to stop this.
My old one has never leaked. The silicone seals have performed well over a long time. I have NEVER put it in the dishwasher. I would NOT recommend this.
It is not an insulated drinks carrier but the material that makes up the bottle walls is substantial, so heat loss from hot fluids, or heat gain of cold fluids would be slow.
I would not take this on a super light backpacking trip as there are lighter options, but I use my original ion8 every day (I take it full of cold filtered water to my bedside every night). I love the opening mechanism and the lock feature.
In my opinion this is worth the price. I would be surprised if it failed but I see that some people need replacement silicone seals. Perhaps they are putting it in the dishwasher which, as I say, I would NOT recommend.
I would recommend this product. It’s well designed and we’ll made. I’d be surprised if you were disappointed. I understand an added bonus is that it fits bike carriers (but I don’t cycle), so can’t comment.
Absolutely LOVE this water bottle! It literally is the best I have found yet! Comes in many sizes and colours too! What makes it so great is that it has a hook on the bottom to stop the lid opening at any time if you accidentally press the button, the fact it has a button to quickly open the line rather than having trying pop it open with more force or with some bottles untwist the lid etc, just so easy, and then even better it has a tiny little whole so that when you are drinking the air is flowing inside and you don’t ever have to stop drinking to get air! Absolutely brilliant product!!
This seller also sends very quickly which is also fab! I feel I should work for ion as I have had so many people ask me about it, and have had to buy my partner, and my mum one and my dad two (as he is greedy haha)!
Good bottle I use in the gym, could be used anywhere for hot and cold liquids
I bought this for the gym. I do a lot of running on a treadmill and it’s perfect for putting in that gap they specially have for drinks bottles. I bought the grey 750 ml version as I do a lot of running so I need a lot of hydration
This isn’t cheap and I think it’s because the contraption at the top is quite complicated. You twist the whole thing off to add water or your choice of liquid in the bottle. It can deal with hot or cold liquids. When you go to drink from it you easily flip the button and the lid pops open. There is no twist you tip it up and then take your drink. There is a little hole to allow the air to escape. The thing is when running you sometimes you get liquid coming out of this hole. It’s not too inconvenient as not too much comes out but it takes a bit of practise to get used to.
The bottle is easy to clean as the lid twists off. I can imagine this would be very useful for school children to take some water to school and would save on buying water which can get expensive. I like the strap that comes with it. I also like that it’s BPA free so you can reuse it with the knowledge that no harmful residue will come off the plastic
All in all it’s a good product, I’ve bought one for my mum who equally loves it. You pay a bit more but I think it’s worth it and would recommend it to others, 5 stars.
