This case does the job however it is not going to last because like my identical last one it will become brittle and crack due to the heat from the iPad.

I was really impressed with this when it arrived. After ordering one that didn’t look like it would protect my iPad and looked cheap, this was the complete opposite. Great quality and lovely colour!

Bought for iPad 2, 5th generation. Chose the smart purple colour. Good information about product, making choice easy. Arrived in cardboard box, which fitted item well. Disappointed that had plastic bag inside box. Magnet closing the case works well. I’m pleased with my purchase and it looks as if it will protect my iPad well. Would recommend it to others.

I’ve had a few cases like this, different brands but all very similar. This one appears less secure than others. The clips on the corners just don’t grab the corners of the tablet securely.

I used to have the purple version which had some cracked corners for a few years and decided to get a new one in a fresh colour.

I think they’re great, you get what you pay for.

Seems good quality so far and looks rather stylish. Supports my sons iPad well and he is very happy with it. Only had it for 1 day so too soon to say how durable it is hence the 4* rating.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA previous review mentioned cracking to the corners. I bought this 8 months ago and the case is still fine with no signs of cracking. However, I have not dropped it and I keep the iPad in the case, so the corners are not regularly flexed. The case is heavier than the Apple one because it has a plastic back as well as the magnetic foldable front, however the Apple case is no longer available for my iPad 6th Gen. This is a good and much cheaper replacement.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve been buying JETech cases for my and my family’s various iPads since 2014, and while I’m a little disappointed in the steady price creep — especially in the last couple of years — it would be unfair to blame the manufacturer for everything that’s happened to supply the various chains.

And these cases still offer exceptional value. Sure, they’re not going to armour the device in a warzone, but as a relatively inexpensive way of protecting hundreds of worth of tablet from occasional knocks, scratches and drops they’re great.

One oddity I’ve found with these, and a lot of similar cases including official Apple ones, is that the orientation for the “typing stand” configuration feels as though it’s the wrong way round. By which I mean that when the cover is configured into the triangular stand for landscape typing, everything is in the wrong place. The volume buttons are on the bottom edge, against the table where they’re hard to get to. The headphone socket is at the highest point, leading to an awkward cable drop. And, if you’re naturally right-thumbed, the Home button is on the wrong side.

With these JETech cases, I’ve found the most comfortable solution is to forego the “typing stand” option altogether and just hinge the last fold of the case down so that it forms a vertical kickstand. This lets you use the case for typing with the iPad “the right way up”. It’s easier to show than to tell, so please see the photo.

While this orientation might look ridiculously weak, as though it will collapse at any moment especially on a slippery surface, it has proven amazingly sturdy on even the shiniest or wobbliest of tables. As long as you don’t have the tapping force of an angry woodpecker, it really does work. Gravity and friction in perfect harmony. Physics FTW.

Of course if you’re not as weirdly obsessive as I am (or you exclusively use wireless headphones and never touch the hardware buttons) then the “typing stand” will probably be fine for you. In which case please ignore the last three paragraphs.

TL;DR: the price may have crept up, and the typing orientation may be quirky for some, but as a relatively inexpensive way to protect your expensive gear you can’t really go wrong with these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still great value despite creeping prices; typing stand may feel odd
