We are in the process of landscaping the garden and after heavy rain we had a swimming pool, only way to clear it was to invest in pump. In combination with a flat hose the pump did the job easily and very quickly.

I did have to dig a hole so the water would drain and allow it to be pumped out, which was a bit of a pain, but it emptied the hole faster than it filled up and cleared the area in under 30 mins where it would have taken weeks to dry

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked better than anticipated

We have had one before and the only downside is it only lasted a few years. The first lasted three years and the second only two. We use it in a well to water the garden and fill our pond which it does very well. If this one does not last longer we will look for a different make.

Have had this pump for over a year now. I only really use it during the summer months to fill up water barrels from the piddly stream in our back garden (for watering plants)

I am really impressed by how quiet it is and how much pressure it pumps out, allowing the water to be pushed up by around 3m with out issues.

It fills each 350l barrel in around 15 mins

5.0 out of 5 stars Very impressed

This a replacement of exactly the same pump. The old one lasted about 3 years and left out all year round.

Probably not what it was intended for but I use this to clear flooding from in front of the garage, when ever it rains.

And is perfect for the job.

When we have abused this one for long enough, I will buy another.

Bought this for my Intex steel frame pool. Used for 1st time to empty a half full pool. Did the job in a couple of hours. Only problem is the hose. Due to being so flexible it kinks when trying to get over the pool top so have to keep checking to make sure it still draining, other that a awesome.e pump.

My old 450w pump finally packed in. Bought this 750w upgrade along with a 20m, 1 inch diameter lay flat pipe and wow, does that combo shift water, used it to empty the pond & hot tub too. Did the hot tub (800l) very quickly can’t of been more then 30mins. Would highly recommend this pump and would definitely suggest getting a larger diameter pipe to use with it rather the using hose pipe

We upgraded from a lay z spa to a hard shell tub.
So with that in mind, we decided to get a submersible pump so that we didn’t need to wait too long for the water to pump out.
    And wow is it quick!
We have a 1200 litre tub and it was dry in about 40 mins.
    Very happy works great.
Makes my life a lot easier. And quicker.
So I can clean and put water back in asap.
    Would defo recommend.

Bought to empty hot tub. Used a 25m regular garden hose and pumped water uphill to IBC to store for watering. When I got the pump (and thought about it) didn’t think for moment it’d manage to move water that far but it did and flow was ok. Genuinely surprised. So v pleased.

Value for money, this was excellent as it was cheaper that hiring one. It also came with the hose and the clips so has everything you need. We needed it to pump water out of a flooded subfloor. Reviews were mixed with many people sending it back as ‘it didn’t work’. Initially it didn’t work for me, and there are two issues to watch for. The float seems to have a ball-bearing in it and this needs to be on the float cable.
so you have to have this in the air and the float vertical, not horizontal if in shallow water. I tied it to the foor joists. The 2nd thing is the hose, its very flat, so you need to squeeze it open, following the water out keeping it straight with only gentle bends. Once it is flowing its fine and holds the hose open iteself. When it’s going it’s terrific with a vey high flow and pumped our sub-floor out in no time down to a very shallow level. Improvide that by putting it in a sump. I would definetly recommend but marked down a bit as it’s tempremental to get going, but once you understand the problems they are an easy fix.

These are excellent pumps and my previous one lasted many years in a demanding location. They are very powerful, well beyond what I require.
The one issue with them is the cable on the floating switch is too long. I resolved this by putting a loop in with a couple of cable ties.

We use it for emptying the hot tub. Takes about half an hour, but won’t empty all the water as the float switch will not allow it to finish the job. The rest is a bale out job, but its no big deal.
Difficult to keep the unit upright when submerged for some reason.

This is a good pump that emptied my hot tub in about 40 mins as opposed to 5 hours. There are some limitations, others have mentioned the fixings, best solution is a hosepipe butterfly clip adapter which works fine.

The main criticism which I could not find any information on anywhere when I was looking at purchasing so I’m posting here for other hot tub users, is that the suction valve is about 5cm high so it will not completely empty your tub. I have not found a pump that operates differently, so guess it’s standard in the design but it would be helpful if they did drain completely.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersWe bought this to empty our Laz-Y-Spa Paris. I’ve used it for the first time this evening. The tub usually takes hours to drain then you have to try and tip the remaining bit out so we thought we’d give this a go. We bought a flat hose to go with it (as lots of people recommend that). I would say it was the flat hose that was most tricky! Time wise it took 26 minutes. I know it will be a bit quicker next time as we had problems trying to get kinks out of the flat hose which made it take longer to get the water out. The hardest part of setting up is attaching the flat hose – you will need a Phillips screwdriver for the clip that attaches it – it’s a little fiddly. Then it is ridiculously easy. Put it in tub, rock it about a bit to fill it up with water, switch it on and away you go. We will be buying a wet vac too as you need to leave 7 cm of water (the pump has a switch that floats and stops it when you reach this level). Good pump, did it’s job and made life easier. Next time we will lay hose out properly before switching it on.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersOne is always a bit apprehensive when you buy something like this in case it doesn’t work, however in my case it worked well and so far I’m happy with it. It was only delivered yesterday so I don’t know how long it will last and like all these things you have to be careful. In particular you have to ensure the pump doesn’t run dry and damage the pump motor as one or two customers have discovered to their cost.
I bought the Silverline lay flat hose 10m x 25mm along with the pump and with an appropriate jubilee clip I attached the hose to the screw on pump attachment. That was a good decision because it enable the water to flow at a good rate (better than a half inch garden hose). I tested the pump first in a water butt about 18 inches deep. Put the pump in the water first before turning the electrics on and ensure the hose is straight without any kinks (that was a bit of a faff to begin with). That gives the pump the chance to prime itself (fills with water) and then switch on the electrics and check to ensure it’s working properly. This is where you find out how it works because you need to hold the float well above the height of the pump for it to switch on. If the float drops it switches off and all these pumps seem to work the same way. You can tell it’s better at emptying a much deeper pool of water so that the float stays on the surface. When the level drops below top of the pump you have to find some way of holding the float up unless you want to stand there like a dummy and hold it up yourself.
I then went out to my pond and got everything in place including ensuring the hose was in a straight line. My pond was about 18inches deep because it was already partly drained so I held up the float with a separate support (you can usually find something that will do it).
Everything worked well, the pond emptied at a nice steady flow rate! The only downside is that it won’t drain it dry, leaving about an inch or so remaining. If you want it completely emptied you need a wet vac or similar.
    Good luck!

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersA cheap pump that did what it was supposed to. I recently dug out a hole in my shed to reinforce the floor before putting a lift and some lights in. However with the hole dug it filled with water, i needed to drain the hole to install reinforcing mesh, lights, and some piping.
The water itself was dirty muddy water with bits of stones and grit in it, but the pump managed to clear it out. The speed it pumps is acceptable.

One major downside is the output pipe, I had a length of garden hose and there is no simple way to connect the pump up to the hose, if the adapter went just a tad smaller then a hose could be pushed into place, I melted a piece of 32mm sink drain pipe to make a reducer which worked.

The pump comes with a float that when the water level drops to a certain point the pump will stop, I prevented this from working by cable tying the float to the pump body keeping it on all the time. This was because I was draining a fairly shallow hole, this ultimately led to the pumps demise as on the last day the pump ran dry for quite some time ultimately overheating. However, I its job was done and was able to lay concrete.

4.0 out of 5 stars Drains dirty water reasonably well.

his was bought to replace a pump located in a surface water drain sump. The old pump was permanently submersed in the drain and kicked in automatically when the sump filled with dirty rain water. this pump is a little slower in dispersing the water through a slightly smaller hose but it does the job adequately. It was cheaper than the old pump and almost performs just as well. I have decided to keep this pump out of the drain and only use it when the sump fills. hopefully this will give a longer life. I am also placing the pump in a bucket of clean water after each use to keep any silt from drying out and clogging things inside. I unscrew the discharge pipe so the water perpetually circulates clean water through the pump and it is surprising how much silt grass etc is evicted during the process. I also flush the discharge hose to keep it in good condition. The old hose was kept out in all weathers and lost its flexibility which you would expect after several years. My new hose is wound up after use also. As mentioned by a previous reviewer the pump has a raised base so you are unable to get the last inch or so of water out but this is not a problem for me. Also I have adapted the float switch and secured a loop to the top using epoxy putty to secure a hook so I can manually keep the switch upright to operate the pump to extract as much water as possible.
