Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGood shoe, inconsistent quality
Got two pairs in different sizes to ensure an ideal fit due to varied opinions on sizing—namely that they fit a half to full size big. I’m usually a 10.5 and found the 10.5 was right for me, although I will say I have a narrow foot and also like a snug fit. After trying on a keen targhee at REI, I thought I’d be a size 10, so it seems like the jasper does run a bit smaller.

Overall I’m quite pleased with them although there is a noticeable inconsistency in the quality of leather between each shoe in the 10.5, which came in an unbranded box listed as replacing the “original, damaged shoebox”. Does this mean the shoes themselves were also damaged?

I purchased the black suede model, which has a very slight pile, but the left shoe’s suede is so distinct from the right that they almost look like two different materials. Sort of disappointing honestly but it’s alright. I just anticipate it being more difficult to clean than the other. The construction is also noticeably different between the two sizes I purchased which is kind of peculiar to me. Don’t know what to make of that.

I really love these and I wear them almost every day. I’m writing this review after having the shoes for almost a year. The inside material of the heal is coming off and I’ve had some of the foam of the heal fall out. It doesn’t really bother me because I do wear them all the time (I walk for a commute and average 115 miles of walking a month) but they do give me blisters.

I am on my second pair of these. They are very comfortable and true to size, I just wish the sole was a little thicker, you really feel the rocks under foot. Great if you are hiking solid rock or sandstone as they are grippy, or just wearing casually. The soles do tend to wear down quickly.

Schade!

I have had several pairs of Keen Austins and consider that model a gold standard for comfort and functionality. These Jaspers come close to that standard. For me I found the fit to be slightly small in their length but not to the point in which I needed to return them. One of the most notable aspects of these is that they are warm when wearing. There are no ventilation holes at all and I wouldn't consider wearing them in summer. They are great for cool weather activities like fall yard work or casual hiking.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersQuality is back
In the past all I’d wear were Keen shoes for approximately a decade. I’d always wear out a pair completely meaning the sole of the shoe was all but gone. So I’d order another pair of Keens, until I had two pair of the exact same shoe fall apart and just generally bad construction so I walked away from Keen.

I decided to give them a chance as I’d heard they had fixed their quality control issues. I ordered these in my regular 10.5 as that is the size I always wore in the Keen shoes. I actually needed a size 11 in this shoe so it’ seems Keen has changed something.

I really like these shoes comfortable and well put together.
