The sheathing on long cable sections is cut precisely with an internal blade for slitting. It can then be easily removed.

The KNIPEX ErgoStrip is equipped with six customised stripping blades for cross-sections 0.2, 0.3, 0.8, 1.5, 2.5 and 4.0 mm².

Many common round and damp-proof cables such as NYM cables from 3 x 1.5 mm² to 5 x 2.5 mm² and outer diameters from 8 to 13 mm can be stripped quickly and cleanly.

Coaxial and data cables are stripped precisely – if necessary with repeat accuracy thanks to the integrated length scale.

Second one of these I’ve bought only because I lost previous one. Perfect for stripping outer sheeth of nym/flex etc. expensive but great for stripping close to back box or wall etc.

Perfect tool for flex , fp and many other small cables . Expensive but well worth the money in time and stress saved on the job . As long as you don’t lose it it’ll last for years

I bought this for a big VRV system I was installing for the wiring of the shielded cable for he data..
It saves so much time removing the sheathing without cutting into the shielding braid.

Sorry about the quality of the video but yes these are a great job. I was using it in the video to strip CAT6. I used them today to strip 3 core 1.5 flex. So much faster and easier for both jobs. When I was first shown these I didn’t think they were beneficial to me for even for CAT6 alone, they will pay for themselves in time.

If you work with flex everyday, you have to have a pair of these they blow snips or a Stanley out of the water having a cable beautifully stripped in seconds

Would only recommend for electricians who work with flex a lot as I think just using snips for bearing single cores is just as easy

I actually saw this being used by someone on a video and knew that I needed it! I must way I am impressed. I love that it strips multiple size cables quickly like 1.5 and 2.5 without needing to mess about with setting or wheels. This is definitely one for the tool bag if you’re doing a lot of wiring jobs.

The only draw back is the price. It is a little overpriced for what it is. It’s made from plastic with tiny metal blades. Not too sure how long will last but I’d probably buy again!

A very clever design that takes a completely new approach to stripping wires. Saved me considerable time and just works as it says on the box and in all the reviews. My only comment is that they are probably rather expensive for what they are. Now doubt the price will go down over time.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have used this on 1.5mm 3core High tuff cable, and it cleanly quickly sliced around the external insulation and stripped it inside a conduit box, so I’m happy with it just for that!
Using the shorter end with the smaller blades on alarm cable also made it much faster than usual, working perfectly as far as I could tell.
The stripping blades on the side do work as they should, but still can’t beat my snips for ease and speed of stripping, especially when there are lots of cores sprouting from the same box, as the side-on action puts the cores directly where you’re working, but they do strip cleanly and with ease, handy for swa or other cores with tougher insulation.
I can’t vouch for the longevity of the blades, but if they last a year, I’ll be happy with the price of the tool.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWell, what else could I fit into that little remaining space in my bag!
Well I’ve managed fine for years stripping cables, flexes with side cutters but I saw this gadget, and reviews, so thought I’d get one. It is a nice tool and if I had a load of fittings to flex up then this be the tool I’d choose. Super quick, and leaves a neat tidy flex.

A little on the expensive side even for Knipex but, as everyone knows, most electrician’s are millionaires, with numerous bank accounts in Liechtenstein, so what the hell! Treat yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars To buy, or not to buy...

This is a really good, lightweight and versatile stripping tool. It’s so easy to use and very comfortable in your hand. I regularly strip all kinds of cables from SWA and 3 core flex through to coaxial and STP/UTP data cables and can say with some confidence that I’ll always reach for this multi-tool first!. You can strip cables very quickly, even ones already entered into a pattress box or enclosure. The strip accuracy is brilliant with no damage to the inner-conductor insulation whatsoever. An impressive “must have” item for electricians and other trades installing/terminating cables.

Just the job, does what it says on the tin. I personally use it for fire alarm cables. It makes a fast job of cutting the sleeve with a nice clean cut. The groove cutter is great, if your working with older cable, you know it’s a nightmares to remove the sleeve, this makes a perfect cut down the sleeve so you can peel if off. The price is high but for the time it saves you it’s a small price to pay. All in all I’m very happy and would recommend it to my colleagues…

Without doubt, the best wire stripper I’ve ever used. They’re expensive, but you get what you pay for and Knipex make great cutting tools. Previously tried some of the sprung strippers that operate on a lever action, but they’re no good for trimming shorter lengths in thicker outer insulation (like speaker wire). These overcome that. Have used extensively with coax, 12awg speaker and a variety of electrical cables around the house and would happily buy another if I lost this one.
