Damage-free application

Work on finished or very sensitive surfaces (e.g. fittings in the bathroom) can be carried out damage-free (similar to illustration).

Ratchet principle

The special stroke of the gripping jaws enables time-saving screwing according to the ratchet principle (similar to illustration).

Fast push-button adjustment

Replaces a complete set of wrenches: It can be adjusted directly on the workpiece (up to 40 mm / 1 1/2 inch) using a push button (similar to illustration).

Laser-cut size scale

The redesigned KNIPEX pliers wrench features two laser-cut scales: metric on the front, imperial on the back. This means that you can set the gripping capacity in advance for workpieces that are more difficult to reach (similar to illustration).

I immediately loved this the quality feel and obvious strength as soon as you hold it. I used it to fit a sink in a kitchen and it made the job so much easier. expensive but totally worth it.

I am absolutely blown away by the performance of my Knipex Pliers Wrench! This tool is truly a game-changer when it comes to gripping and tightening nuts and bolts. The unique design allows for a smooth and precise grip, without damaging the surface of the nut or bolt. The pliers wrench also allows for a greater degree of flexibility in tight spaces, making it an incredibly versatile tool to have in any toolkit.

What I love most about this pliers wrench is the high-quality construction and durable materials. The chrome vanadium steel is incredibly strong and resistant to wear and tear, making this a long-lasting investment for any handyman or DIY enthusiast. The non-slip grip also adds an extra level of safety and control, ensuring that the pliers wrench won’t slip or cause any accidents while in use.

Overall, I highly recommend the Knipex Pliers Wrench to anyone in need of a high-quality wrench. It’s definitely worth the investment, I can never go back to a standard ordinary adjustable wrench.

    Knipex; top quality pro kit.
High quality, doesnt get much better. I don’t generally go for a “one size fits all” type of tool, I bought it for the ability to grip on smooth surfaces without damage. Could be handy to take on a long road trip if your worried about the car/MC breaking down.

Received the pliers wrench today the 150mm ones gotta say I’m impressed. Most of my hand tools are knipex I have 3 sets of the cobras of various sizes. These fit nicely in my knipex pouch with a small set of 125mm cobras. Quality German made tools that literally last years. I won’t buy anything else but knipex.

    Fantastic Tool
Have a number of these, in different sizes – They are a brilliant tool. Much quicker to use than adjustable spanners, offer large jaw size and give great grip onto pipe fittings/nuts etc without the damage associated with normal type ‘grips’.
They are pricey, but when you have them in your hands and are using them frequently -you understand.

    Usual Knipex quality.
Expensive, but as always with Knipex, you get what you pay for. This is my fourth pair. I already had the same tool in 125, 180, and 200mm. The 200mm version is VDE. This 150mm is perfect for a small tool kit/grab bag. It opens wide enough to fit 15mm compression fittings, and will not mark chrome fittings. I don’t bother with spanners anymore. Do not leave unattended on site – it will soon vanish!

High Quality comes at a price! Top Tools For Pro's
I have been put off buying these for a few years, but having changed a few polished chrome Taps, Shower mixers, and brass fittings, Rad valves stc, my usual cheapo adjustable wrench/spanner always marked the surface slightly however careful I was. i needed a change.. I have lots of Knipex tools already, and these are Top drawer! like all their other tools. The grip is like a ratio of 15:1 and clean gripping, parallel jaws, great for not just turning nuts, but gripping whilst straigtening, or holding things whilst grinding, drilling, etc, the grip is phenomenal!.. Loved them so much I bought the 125mm smaller version, loved them now gonna get the 180mm version lol.. superb, pricey but you do get what you pay for, this tool has lightened my tool bag, and increased the versatility too. Highly recommended!

I have wanted to try out Knipex tools for a while, and this adjustable wrench is exactly the one that tickled my desires the hardest. I kept putting it off because there are very good alternatives from trusted tool manufacturers that cost a fair bit less. I finally took the plunge, and I haven’t looked back since. While I still believe that there are very good alternatives, this tool is far beyond very good. It is spectacular. It’s ease of use, its friendliness to the fasteners/materials you use it on, it’s pure quality is unparalleled. The only bad thing I have to say about this tool is that it’s going to cost me more than the sticker price because a lot of my other tools will now have to be replaced with Knipex as well…

    Just get these.
These are the most useful addition to my tool set for as long as I can remember. They enable you to grip almost anything, including round bar, without marring. A beautiful design, perfectly executed. If you have a home tool kit, and need to be able to undo almost any bolt/nut size, these would be the tool to choose. It’s as if water pump pliers and mole grips had a perfect child together!

These are the perfect little tool. They are a good replacent for an adjustable. The mechanism allows you to get a tight grip even with the smooth jaws. I now own several of these. The only issue I’ve have is selecting the correct position can take some getting use too, but some of the newer Knipex Plier Wrenchs now have size marking to help.

I was toying with buying the 250mm version but stuck with the 180mm. Makes installation of Vaillant boilers so much more pleasant, the jaws are small and thin yet open very wide. In a confined space this smaller one is probably more useful than the bigger one. Over the years I have bought many tools that I thought were a good idea, and then ended up not using them. This one is a hybrid between an adjustable spanner and a pair of water pump pliers and does the job better than either of them. This one will stay in my toolbox. The price? For me, outrageous but well worth it.

Well made smooth jaw grips that wont bind up like cheap ones. my only gripe is the price, although i only paid 35 for this set so that’s a moot point.

They seem a little fiddly to use at first, but when you use them for tightening up plastic glands, bending little bits of metal to shape, holding things steady… that are just great. Firm even pressure across the length of the jaw.

This size is great for 20-25mm Stuffing Glands.
I may well get a couple sizes larger as well!

The best adjustable tool for delicate fasteners
The only “adjustable” tool worth owning. Smooth jaws don’t bite into your workpiece, while staying parallel in a way no adjustable wrench can hope to. This small tool proved useful on things like pipe nuts and alloy fittings, even displacing much larger tools. Expensive it may be – but best quality always is.

Completed my line up, 125mm, 180mm and 300mm. I use them on just about every callout I go to. They grip soft metals which an adjustable spanner tend to round off if it’s tight. Yes their expensive but worth every pound, you won’t be disappointed. Tools are a long term investment, some worth it, some not, these fall into the latter category.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSmall but mighty
I bought the 125mm version of this tool as I thought I’d give it a try. I have a pair of Klein pump pliers which cost approx 70, which I was never really impressed with. I have a recurring old injury and I’m looking to lighten my every day carry load, and I figured these would suffice for 80% of my jobs.
Firstly they’re small, very small. But they feel good quality, and as they open to approx 21mm they’ll be useful for lots of applications. I’ve already used them this afternoon and they were impressive. Being Knipex I don’t think quality will be an issue going forward, I have some old Knipex stuff from years ago and they’re still very good.
Already I’m looking at a bigger version, I’m not sure yet how big I want to go ( cost v use I’ll get from them ) because they aren’t cheap, and as my Klein ones failed to impress, I’m mindful of wasting another 70.
I read a review in which it was stated By the reviewer he’d wished he’d got them sooner, this edged it for me and I feel the same after buying them too.

Knipex’s pliers wrenches aren’t cheap, but then again again they’re also so useful for so many things that it’s possible they could be the cheapest good quality tools you can buy. They work as a ratchet-camming spanner, adjustable spanner (crescent wrench), flat jawed parallel pliers, miniature vice, hand-held clamp… the list goes on. These quickly replace most standard spanners, and three sizes cover pretty much everything I encounter as a mobile bicycle mechanic, and the same for general use at home when working on cars or other machinery. If you’ve never used them then try the 175mm version, and don’t bother with the moulded grip version as they’re actually not as comfortable to use (and take up more space in your toolbox).

    Fantastic Knipex design and quality.
What can I say except “another fantastic Knipex product”. Not cheap, but great value. I had a pair of parallel jaw pliers I used a lot to insert bushes into 3D printed parts, but they are too small for many of the parts. This parallel action goes out to 40mm and is superb. Far better than an adjustable spanner because hand pressure maintains the pressure on the nut flanks, reducing the chance of slipping and rounding a nut.

    Good all round tool
I have had the task of changing the flush mechanism in a few toilet cisterns recently but only had an old fashioned wrench big enough to undo the nut between cistern and bowl. The old wrench with saerated jaws tended to damage plastic nut so went for this based on flat jaws.
Within an hour of receipt It was in use and performed perfectly. Tackled the large nut with no damage, reduced in size quickly to help free stopcock.Adjusted quickly and accurately again to work on taps and shower. Saves carrying multiple sizes of wrench/ spanne

Got these when they were being sold for 44 quid, which is an absolute bargain compared to the usual price of them (80ish)

Not a tool I’ve have to use frequently, in fact only a few times so far on stubborn pumps but that’s what it was bought for.

The wrench pliers by knipex are to use of stubborn nuts and bolts and this one is no different, it’s just the big gun of them when you need the leverage when something won’t budge

I will say though it’s heavy

Don’t normally do reviews , but felt the need after using these.
Working in the commercial plumbing and heating trade I’ve always struggled to find the right tool to tighten brass compression joints (mainly 54mm lever valves). I’ve used various spanners even stillstons and never really found the right tool until now.
The Knipex wrench is great and makes for easy work on all compression joints.
Must mention how great Amazon have been, first parcel turned up empty(nothing inside the box and no signs of tampering). After contacting them they re-sent and I received a new parcel (with wrench inside!).

Awesome tool just got them 2 days ago. You can adjust to the size of the jaw on compressions using the printed numbers on the tool itself the 22 mark wouldn’t be for a 22 nut but once you remember the corresponding number you don’t even need to put it on the nut to get the size right as it closes a little when you squeeze the lever, saves a little time. I think i use 22 for a half-inch nut but don’t quote me lol
You can perform close to a ratcheting action to tighten those radiator tails and compression nuts by loosening your grip and allowing the jaws to slip over the nuts edge to the next flat surface and squeeze again.
It’s easy to overtighten compression joints with this tool so some care is needed.
May not get under all boilers to loosen flow and return nuts but if it does fit it fits well without rounding off the nuts slipping and banging your knuckles or even worse cutting them. They are my go-to spanners now but I still use my Bahcos for access to some places I’m just more careful of smashing my knuckles.

It’s great for Jobbing, maintenance and installation work.
I don’t normally do reviews but I had to say something for my fellow engineers. I always look for a plumbers review when buying tools. You know what, I’m in a good mood now I may write some more reviews about other products, just the good stuff though lol.

Golden Review Award: 15 From Our UsersAn excellent little tool, and so much better than an adjustable spanner!
Several years ago I bought a larger version of the Knipex pliers wrench for my toolbox, and have been extremely happy with it. I nearly always use it in preference to a standard adjustable spanner (“Crescent wrench”).

Six months ago I bought the 125mm version (86 03 125) of the Knipex, and have been carrying it with me every day in a pouch on my belt, alongside my Leatherman Surge multitool, to replace a 4″ Bahco adjustable spanner.

Whilst the Leatherman will happily grip objects in its pliers, the teeth are not best suited for tightening nuts and bolts. The Knipex pliers wrench on the other hand, with its smooth parallel action jaws, is a much better tool for this sort of work. If necessary, a bolt can be held stationary with the Leatherman, and then the nut can be loosened with the Knipex.

The jaw opening of 23mm vastly exceeds the 13mm of the Bahco, and it can be used for jobs which an adjustable spanner can’t tackle, like straightening metal. Once you get the hang of it, the ratcheting action speeds up tightening and loosening tasks, and the self-tightening jaws mean that you don’t have to grimly keep the handles pressed together like a pair of pliers.

Although I don’t use it every day like the Leatherman, it has come in very useful and is particularly good on brake pipes.

I have no hesitation in recommending this great little tool!

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersThese grips will put hair on your chest.
I bought 2 of these for work, for 63mm SWA glands and… they made that gland their bitch. Worth every penny, if a little expensive for some. So easy to use. I was worried they wouldn’t quite stretch to 63mm, I actually set them just below the maximum setting and they were golden. So, 240mm armoured is your limit.

Because of the straight jaw they don’t mark the gland at all, which is important for some firms when they snag your finished works. They also grip cleanly and firmly, and I only have small to medium sized hands.

They’re one of those tools you don’t take with you on your first day, but bring in from home when shit gets real.

They’re a timeless investment that you will have for years, until some yahoo nicks them out of your tool bag. I had electricians gawking over them like a page 3 pin-up.

I was a bit dissapointed when I received this plier wrench because it’s the new lightweight version as opposed to the over engineered sturdy one shown on amazon! I’m verging on returning them because they’re not what I was led to believe I would receive ! It opens slightly wider than the old version but as the handles are at an unsuitable acute angle I would discard this fact as not being a positive! It’s a good bit lighter but I would say strength has been sacrificed for this fact here and there ! The handles construction are thinner as are the comfort handles ( more like a thicker version of the dipped type). I don’t like them compared to the older sturdier versions and if it wasn’t the fact they have a limited lifetime warranty they would be on their way back already. The newer (un-chromed) versions are available elsewhere for 37.50 as opposed to the 50.99 which I paid. If I’d knew I was going to receive the new version I would have taken a chance on the 13.49 saving and bought elsewhere. I suppose I’m not devastated by this but neither am I ecstatic as I would have been if I had received what I ordered. “Ya pay ya money ya take ya chance” is the moral of this story! If I’d been able to choose between the two in a local tool store I would have went with the older ones because mainly I feel knipex , like everyone else these days, are giving me less and charging me more! Change the picture Amazon, your losing the objective of saving us money !

This was a Christmas present for my husband. He is a marine engineer and likes to be given tools so even though I am not sure what would be helpful or not, I do my best to find something useful for him. I always worry that what I have bought is a duplication or not good enough. I read the reviews for these and decided to get them. On Christmas morning I was a bit nervous until he opened the parcel (they were a b*** to wrap up). He was delighted. I asked if he already had some (he gets tools issued by his company) and he said he did but not like these because, in his words, these are “quality stuff”. Being a tool freak, he then spent the next half hour explaining what they are for and why they are so good. On Christmas morning! H’mmm……….. However, I am delighted he was so pleased and delighted that one of my presents to him was such a success. Score one for me and score one for Knipex! My husband tells me that these are the best you can get and that is good enough for me. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersInnovative and useful tool
These Plier Wrenches are a novel idea, interesting design and do have some unique features. Smooth jaws mean they will not mark fasteners etc. and can be used almost with a ratcheting design where you simply release your grip slightly to move the pliers back round and turn again.

They can be used to hold things, turn fasteners, straighten sheet metal etc. In some scenarios they work well and are a vast improvement on the typical adjustable spanner design.

There are some downsides however. When adjusted, you have to apply the gripping force yourself which can be tiring if used for longer periods. If access if awkward it can be hard to fit the handles into tight spaces and get your hand onto both handles to grip etc. They are also expensive to buy.

A handy tool to have however. Typical Knipex quality and build, made in Germany.

I bought my first pair of these one Ebay (the 250mm pair) as i got a voucher for 30 off and strangely enough i bought my second pair of Amazon (the 180mm) but both pair from the same supplier XPN1 (who are good and gave a competitive price) Back to the tools, when the 10″ or 250mm version arrived i thought this is some tool and maybe i should have got the smaller version ( trust me these are well built ) so i ordered the 7″ or 180mm and when it arrived i wasn’t disappointed and was glad i had bought both pair. To cut a long story short there is a big difference between the two even if it is only 70mm on paper but ones for the pocket (make your mind up as to which one and the other can do it all just on a bigger scale) personally i would get the 250mm and the 180mm as they cover everything. the 150mm is more fore your tech guys who were bumbags (only joking) whatever pair u get you won’t be disappointed hope this helps

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersOne of the best and most versatile tools I have ever owned - 110% recommended.
I have owned both these pliers and plus the larger – 250mm – version for many years. They have proven to be one of the best tools that I have ever owned and I am a craftsman who owns virtually every type hand tool available. I have purchased this additional pair as a Christmas present for my brother in law who has much admired my pliers for many years.

These Knipex pliers have smooth square jaws so can be used for gripping without damage (especially if a vulnerable item is protected by a soft piece of Fabric/leather etc prior to closing), clamping, holding, pressing, bending and most importantly for me, as a quick release spanner. Used in conjunction with the larger version they are a very effective way of tightening and loosening the unions on taps, central heating radiators and general pipework – especially the larger nut sizes where suitable sized spanners are not always readily to hand.

The simple, but immediate, infinitely adjustable nature of the operating mechanism of these pliers is one of their biggest attributes especially in often difficult or restricted access applications.

The Knipex pliers are extremely well made in cast Chrome Vanadium are extremely sturdy and are truly built to last a lifetime (and even much longer I suspect). Mine are over ten years old and used regularly yet are showing no signs of wear whatsoever.

Knipex tools are not the cheapest – but the best tools never are. However, Lackner & Urnitsch GMBH helped to ease this burden by offering the pliers at a 31%, discount – the best deal that I could find anywhere on the Internet at the time.

To sing the praises of Lackner & Urnitsch although based in Germany they delivered the pliers to me in double quick time, boxed, then very well and safely packed with a neatly typed invoice within and a tourist map of their locality. They are an excellent and efficient company to deal with and cannot be faulted – I am 110% happy with my transaction – Highly recommended.
