I’m addicted to using it but it’s not ‘low noise’ like advertised. For some reason the machine lets off a lot of heat so I had to clear my counter to make sure there’s nothing nearby (which is inconvenient since I have a small kitchen).

The ice produces fast and the basket holds a ton of it, a friend recommended I bag and put some in my freezer so the machine isn’t running all day. My partner likes to snack on the ice for whatever reason.

I recommend you listen to the instructions and wash it before adding water because I didn’t and the ice tasted weird.

Generally, ice machines are noisy so I’m not sure if this one is worse than other brands but it’s similar to having a fan on. I love the bullet ice because it melts fast which cools my drink quickly. The size is reasonable, it’s a little wider than my two-slot toaster but like I said it can’t be next to anything.

I have to admit that I am quite impressed with this ice making machine. Instructions suggest that it is recommended to leave it in an upward position for 24 hours before first operation so I followed that.
It is extremely easy to operate, just fill up the water tank, close the lid and press the power button, it takes around 9 minutes for 9 cup shaped ices to drop into the basket and then the cycle repeats. So if you are having some friends over and need some ice it is best to start the ice maker like one hour before as you get 9 of these every 9 ish minutes.
It is a fairly large (and smart) device so it takes some valuable space on the worktop but if you, like us, enjoy your drinks with ice in it then it might be a good investment.
Overall it looks and feels well made, it does what it’s supposed to so we are very pleased with it.

I do believe that the process of ice making, although much faster than in the freezer, still takes fairly long for a machine that it’s designed to do just that and it’s priced almost like a small fridge.

4.0 out of 5 stars ice making, fast and easy

As someone who buys ice cubes and waits hours for the ice cube trays to make ice, this is a game changer.

It’s got some weight to it but it’s also quite compact and it doesn’t take up too much space on the counter.

It’s as simple as filling the tank with water and pressing the On button. In about 9-10 minutes you get a few scoops worth of ice. The shape of the ice is kinda like a glass cup. Once the ice starts flowing in, you have to pour either use it straight away or store it in a back as it isn’t designed to store the ice.

This is a great option when you are short on time but at the cost of using up electricity.

I have a family that uses ice regularly so it’s perfectly suitable for my household. This will differ from how often you need ice as it does have a hefty price tag on it.

This is a square fridge freezer type unit, weighing several kilograms. You simply fill up the water reservoir with about 1.5L of water and it gets to work, making your first ice cube in less than 10 minutes. It does this repeatedly with a conveyor belt system, depositing the freshly made ice cubes in the cool department. (Note the icebox itself does not maintain them once frozen, so you need to use them quite soon after being made).
The device is simple to use, relatively compact, and quite efficient. If you were having a party or barbecue, it would be worth firing this thing up to keep a steady stream of ice cubes supplied throughout the day.
That is the only issue that I can see — unless you’re having a party or gathering that requires 50 to 60 ice cubes an hour I cannot see any other use for this? I would not get it out and start it up for a dinner party, as I’m sure my standard icebox in my fridge could cope with four or five guests, so unless you want to buy a 90 product to use at an occasional family barbecue, I don’t anticipate it will get that much use in a year.
Still worthy of consideration, if you are a regular party host, but for the rest of us, just plan ahead and make plenty in your fridge freezer!

4.0 out of 5 stars Handy at parties or a BBQ

    This arrives in a brown cardboard box measuring approx 35cm x 26cm x 33cm.

When this arrives you need to treat it like a new fridge/freezer, so unpack it & leave it sat level where you plan to use it for at least 2 hours before use, leaving the lid open for that time.
It should be away from heat sources with at least 15cm gap at the back & some room on all sides for adequate ventilation.

Inside the box, the icemaker is packed in formed polystyrene & wrapped in a bag.
It has a permanently attached lead with a 3 pin plug attached.
It comes with a short instruction leaflet in English only.

Once you’ve let it sit so the refrigerant can settle, you turn it on, fill it with water (not distilled) & let it get on with it.
It seems to start off a little slower & the first few ice cubes seem to be a little smaller, but it slowly keeps churning out 9 ice cubes every 9 minutes which adds up surprisingly fast.

They have a hollow in the middle of them, so in reality they are smaller than they look so do melt fairly fast.
I’ve used it to make up a bag to stick in my regular freezer, once the novelty of unending ice cubes wore off for the kids who drank loads of water full of them when it first started up, but it would be useful if you were having a party & wanted to keep the ice flowing.

The unit doesn’t keep the ones it makes frozen, so you do need to check it every so often & keep an eye out for the red warning light when it’s low on water.

I can’t imagine needing more ice than this little thing makes.

This ice maker is a handy device provided you are aware of its strengths and limitations. It is reasonably compact (about 12 inches high) but quite heavy at nearly 7kg and does require some space to store so if you live in a very small flat where every inch is precious bear that in mind. Secondly, it makes about ten rounded bullet cubes of ice in 10 minutes (it is only has 120W power) and is really aimed at those who want to use the ice immediately as there is no provision for storing the cubes in the machine as such-it is simply a cold space. It is very easy to use with a very clear control panel and its tank has a 1.5 litre capacity which gives you an idea of how often you have to refill it-this is a device aimed at relatively small quantities used quickly. You do get a scoop to serve up the cubes which works well when you are making a long cocktail for instance. I would say this would be perfect for a modest barbecue or small indoor party when you don’t need huge amounts of ice. For this kind of machine the price is not excessive and if you love your drinks served with ice and don’t need large amounts then this is a decent choice.

Lots of ice from one batch. I have frozen in bags as I was just trying it out and had lots. Then the sun stopped shining.. but love the product.

This was a purchase for our daughter who has ice in EVERY drink through out the day. Our fridge freezer is intergrated, so haven’t got one on there, couldnt keep up with making new ice for her, this is the answers to her ice prayers. Always there ready for her to go.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersVery handy in the hot weather. The ice can melt quite quickly once made but if youre using it on a hot say, you’ll be dipping into it to top up your drinks anyway. I’m very pleased I bought it. Not too noisy and saves you having to.try and pop ice cubes out of trays (the ice only flies across the room anyway when you do muster up the strength to pop it out!)… a good purchase this one

As per the product description, it takes a few minutes before it starts making ice cubes, but it will keep on making more every few minutes. The ice cubes aren’t the largest, about the size of the last part of your index finger, but they do the job. Unfortunately you can’t alter the size of the ice cubes, but that’s to be expected at this price point. Overall very pleased, seems well made and looks neat enough on the counter top. In fact everyone that has visited us and has seen it in action, have all said that they want one now

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersLike to have ice in our cold drinks, can’t be bothered with lots of leaking ice bags or trays. Used to buy bags at the supermarket.
In the winter worked out at two a week.
    Hot weather??
Figured an ice maker would pay for its self over a few months.
Went for good reviews on not too large or expensive.
Treated our selves to this ice maker, been using it a couple of weeks now.
What would I do without it now.
Arrived on good time, well packaged. Let it stand 24 hours as recommended.
Gave it a wipe around, and got it going, so easy to use.
Ice cubes are a decent size, but they do us, I suppose a larger more expensive one would produce bigger? But this is just right for us.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of our best buys

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersMy partner suggested we get an ice maker – I disagreed. When they told me it had been discounted I relented. What is wrong with the plastic ice cube bags – just fill from the tap, twist the top and throw in the freezer?
Anyway, having received it, set it up (easy) filled the water tank and pressed Go – well, how did we ever manage without it? My weekend Gin and Tonics are much more enjoyable, instead of searching through the bowels of the freezer to find the bag of ice cubes I am sure I made a few days ago only to discover there are just three left – I no longer have to suffer a lukewarm G and T. The delights of plonking 4 or 5 ice bullets into my glass with a slice of lemon and a dash of Angostura, then pouring Gin followed by sparkly Tonic, the expectation of an ice cold drink as many times as I want is no longer a disappointment in reality. I ran the machine for about an hour or so and made roughly 100 bullets, maybe a touch more. They are now sitting in the freezer ready for use. Even if for some reason I am once again down to my last three ice cubes I am happy in the knowledge that 9 minutes later we can have an ice cold drink , while plenty more are being made at the touch of a button. I use a filter jug to fill the water reservoir and am very happy with this ice maker’s performance. It really is the gadget you don’t know you need, and I haven’t even started on Cocktails and Iced coffee………

    Would highly recommend

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersNever owned a domestic ice maker before and spent hours researching. Dozens of types Dozens of prices. Took a chance on this one and pleased. Yep it makes ice. Give it about an hour to get a basket amount going then just keep topping up. Each batch takes approx 9-10minutes. Water tank lasts approximately two hours before needing topped up.
