This you has been great for my 2 year old daughter, she has autism and has found great joy with this toy. We bought it after seeing it on Ms Rachel and it has really helped her development. One of her all time favourite toys. Has really helped with her fine motor skills, colour sorting and counting. Great toy!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI really like this toy as it keeps my toddler busy and I can use it to teach him the colors. What I don’t like is that he keeps putting the pieces in his mouth and that is a safety concern as they are small pieces.

We like how easy it is to stick and hid the spikes
Some are a bit harder to pull out but with time they will get easier
It’s quite hard to pull out the blue body to put away the spikes
But it’s great fun and last longer (enough to make and drink coffee )

My 22 month old is having great fun with this. She doesn’t find it particularly challenging, so maybe more suitable for a slightly younger child, but really enjoys sticking all the spines in and pulling them out. Also good for talking about colours.

It’s great for kids to learn to count and select different colours, my son loves taking the spikes out and putting them back in. A good toy which goes well with our collection.

Only downside is the spikes are easy to lose, but that’s kids I guess!

I don’t normally buy plastic toys but after reading the reviews I was intrigued.
Spike is a big hit in our house. My daughter was really attracted to Spike from the moment he arrived and still plays with him now (she’s nearly 3). Spike is lightweight, easy to take on trips as packs away and easy to clean.

I was cautious on this purchase, it seemed expensive for a plastic toy, not helped when the box it arrived in was bashed. But my daughter had it for her first birthday and is really enjoying playing with it. I am concerned about her chewing the pegs having read other reviews but so far so good

This is the second one we have purchased. My toddler loved it so much we have bout it for a friend’s toddler as a present. The colours are bright and the fun getting them to put the spikes into the holes is great for their coordination skills.

This is a great toy to improve your childs motor skills. Although it states 18m+, I think you can use it from 12m+, make sure your child is supervised thought as the pines can be a choking hazard if your child decides to put the whole thing in their mouth!. My son loves this toy now and has done so since he was 18+, he loves to stick the pines in all over the place and take them out and re-arrange them. sometimes placing them in colour coordination.

Although the hedgehog has number the pines dont, it would have been even better if the pines had numbers on them as it would have helped with number learning and matching as well.

You can open the back of the hedgehog to places all the pines inside, so it can be tidied away nearly.

I have not be honest though, I dont think this is worth the price tag of 16.99, I would expect a toy to have a few more functionality for this price. But the toy itself is great for the age range.

I can vouch this is also Chew Proof!! My son is a vicious chewer and this toy has stood the test of time.

Absolutely delighted with this. Our friend’s little boy, with CP, grabbed it immediately and once Mummy showed him what to do, he was well away. It’s nice and sturdy and looks good

My 15month old daughter LOVES spike the hedgehog. Her attention span is fairly short but she will happily play with this on her own for 10 minutes happily and after a short break she will go back to it again for another 10. If I sit and play it with her she will play indefinitely, endlessly putting the spikes in and taking them out again. She’s too little at the moment to do counting or colour sorting games so I can see it having longevity too. We can do more challenging playtime activities with it as she gets a bit older.
