Just loved building this Hedwig Pencil Holder; love the fact that I can customise the design with all the different coloured dots- I can decorate it with Gryffindor colour one day and change it to Ravenclaw the next... love all the possibilities!! Got it during the Amazon Lego day sale and couldn't be happier!!

These Lego sets are perfect for my daughter who loves arts and crafts. This is a set she can reuse but also make use of in day to day activities. The quality is great like all LEGO products. Would recommend!

Great pen pot!
We are all Lego mad in this house and my daughter has the Dots banana pen pot, so this was perfect for my son.
Easy to build and comes with lots of dots so you can make your own design on the pot. Very sturdy and holds lots of pens, pencils, rulers etc.
Instructions were super easy to follow.

Fun and practical!
First impressions were good, it comes in branded Lego dot/ Harry Potter packaging and had a real wow factor, especially for my Harry Potter obsessed children!
Assembling the pencil holder was a fun activity for them and they were able to do it with minimal supervision. The end result was a pretty sturdy and adorable owl-shaped pencil pot and note holder that they were both excited to use. It’s great for them to be excited about playing/ building something that actually has a purpose and they can make practical use of, whilst still being fun! The pencil holder is large enough to hold a decent number of pens and pencils and the note holder is a great place to keep important reminders and messages.
Overall, I thought this was a great idea by Lego and my kids loved it so I’d happily recommend it!
A perfect gift to someone who likes Harry potte
As my daughter is getting older and starting to love Harry potter, I thought this would be a good gift. It was as usually is the case with lego instructions clear and well thought out. The pencil holder can hold lots of pens ,felt tips ,crayons etc etc. Movable wings and you able to fully customised hedwigs stomach area ,even with some design ideas are suggested

My son loves this lego set. The instructions is easy to follow and he liked that he could add his own designs to the holder. The pencil holder is a good size and holds lots of pens/pencils and is nice and stable when full. It has movable wings which can be positioned how you’d like them. The great think about this set is the way you can put your own stamp on the set, there are suggested designs for Hedwigs tummy but it comes with so many spares you can let your imagination go wild to create new designs. The Hedwig Pencil Holder set will make a fantastic gift for any Harry Potter fan.
Fun, Customisable & Practical Build For The Harry Potter Fan Who Wants To Keep Their Desk Tidy
I got this set for my 10 year old to build and use on her desk at home. She has enjoyed other Lego Dots sets in the past, making bracelets with them, and she also enjoyed this set.
It’s the expected, high quality from Lego with clear instructions and high quality bricks. I like the fact you can make the Gryffindor scarf for the owl if you choose and that there is movement in the wings. The little note holder is also a nice extra.
If you have a Harry Potter fan then they should enjoy this build, the customisation it permits, and that it has practical benefits as a pen/pencil holder.

Fun to build
This Hedwig pencil pot and flying envelope noteholder is fun to build and the front of both can be customised. There are plenty of dots included and you can make Hedwig have different expressions, and his wings can be adjusted. It’s quite a cute set for Harry Potter fans, although both items are quite small and the pen pot can only hold a few pens. The box includes a golden key which is actually a Lego remover, so that’s a great touch.

Another great creative offering from Lego which encourages children to create their own pencil holder. Easy to build and one nice thing being the build is useful when put together. The instructions are more for inspiration than to build a single model and has a few different options – which we liked about Lego Dots. Not to mention the vibrant colours and great Lego quality set… as usual!
Very engaging
This is a very useful set of genuine Harry Potter lego lots of pieces very challenging for my five year old grandson we had great fun putting this together and kept him very engaged due to the small shapes you can make various owl designs on the front base so its fun and engaging to change around its great for placing pencils in and looks great on the shelf make great gift good value

Everything looks of good quality which you would expect from Lego. And although this is a “pencil holder” kit you can of course make plenty of other things with it too.
The “Harry Potter” link is a bit tenuous I would say. But my little girl loves it so who am I to argue 🙂
Lots and lots of dots
This was a fun build I’m personally not a Harry Potter fan I just thort this pen holder was really cute.
A decent size to put on a work desk or side board.
Loads of dots to decorate the holder after I finished I had loads left.over and a dot remover key so would be easy to change designes if you want to in the future.
I did think tho woth it been a HP build that it might of had some printed bricks in it to include in the design which would be fun for a Harry Potter fan.

A recent convert to all things LEGO I was very pleased to review this DOTS set. As with all LEGO products the packaging and instructions were first class, each of the sections are in separate sealed plastic bags and the instructions clearly state which section requires which bag.
Building the pencil holder was nice and easy and very rewarding especially the movable wings. I felt that the inclusion of the Harry Potter colours on the pencil holder and the ‘note holder’ was essential to the Harry Potter theme, otherwise it would just be a very generic pencil and note holder.
The pencil holder takes several pens, but the note holder can only really holds one piece of paper or card. The variety of dots available gives lots and lots of opportunity for customisation and personalisation and the inclusion of the removing tool allows these decorations to be changed as frequently as wanted.
Although the suggested age range is 6+, I believe that a younger builder would benefit from some adult guidance
Another great set from the LEGO people and definitely aimed towards the younger audience with the hope that they will become LEGO users in the future.
Cutest Lego Dots Pencil Holde
Hands down this has to be the cutest LEGO dots pencil holder ever. My kids love Harry Potter and the Hedwig character from the movie so were really very excited when we got this set. As soon as this set came in kids had left everything they were doing to start making this gorgeous pencil holder. The LEGO dots are amazing and is a perfect way of enhancing their imagination. The set comes with easy to follow instructions. Kids can make it all by themselves and do not need any adult intervention. LEGO dots also offers a lot of flexibility with regards to amending the shape and design as per the kids liking. My Kids loved making this pencil holder and we all loved the fact that this pencil holder can also be used daily instead of just lying on the shelves. Quality of the pieces is really good. Love the bright coloured dots on the light background.
Overall, I would say that this set is a must buy for any LEGO Harry Potter fans. Quality of the pieces is absolutely great. Pricewise I would say it is reasonable for a set this size. Would make a lovely birthday present for young budding LEGO Harry Potter fan.

I grew up playing with Lego and today they are still so popular with children and adults of all ages.
Great to see the child using their imagination as they use the very durable Lego bricks.

LEGO 41809 DOTS Hedwig Pencil Holder
A Hedwig pencil holder which contains around 518 piece’s. There are 2 number bags along with 3 unnumbered bags.
The instructions are easy to follow and the whole holder can be built within 30-45mins. Once built the holder is very useful and can store a good amount of pens and pencils.
I like the fact that this can be customized to suit your style. It a nice way of getting creative.
You do get a small key that help remove the titles so you can replace and redecorate with ease. I liked the movement of the wing so when you place this on a desk you can place this is different motions.
Overall its a great little set that does become useful once built. The holder is big enough to place a good amount of pens and pencils. perfect for children and harry potter lovers.

The Hedwig pencil holder includes a lot of tiles to be able to personalise the design. The set doesn’t include any 1×1 printed HP themed tiles which is a shame. As well as the pen holder you also get a letter which double up as a holder for photos or small pictures. A tile remover key has also been included. Only the front of Hedwig and the letter can be personalised which is a shame as it would have been better to have a studded face plate all around the pen holder for extra personalisation. It’s a nice addition for a HP fan and my daughter has it on her desk, it could however have been improved with more personalisation plates.

This LEGO Dots set is a great addition to ones Dots collection, as it comes with a great variety of colours and shapes that one can use with existing studs and create some amazing artwork.
On its own, the set also allows a good level of creativity in decorating the pencil holder in fun Harry Potter themed designs.

Quick to put together but useful and fu
I got this for my young nephew who is 11 and mad about Harry Potter.
This review is based on what he told me. He said he absolutely loves it! The pencil pot is a good size, he can get a whole pack of colouring pens in it along with his ruler and there’s a bit of space for more if you need it. The note holder is fun and he’s put his current favourite Pokemon card in it…
He said it took him about 30 minutes to build it all, and the moving wings are his favourite part.
He followed the instructions easily and made the exact same design as the box, but there’s loads of extra pieces to swap it around and change it.
From my point of view – I know Lego is expensive, and 17 to keep them busy for 30 minutes isn’t appealing, but the fact you get something useful at the end, and all the extra blocks so it can be changed and customised makes it a much better deal because they can rebuild it many times in a different way.
Harry Potter Lego Dot Fun!
We have lots of lego dots at home and this is a great set which lets you make a Hed Wig owl pencil pot. The design can be changed and altered and customised but it does give you a full-colour booklet to follow. The pencil pot is very useful and it was nice to be able to use the lego dots to cover it and make it your own. You can get creative with lego dots and if you are new to the dot range this is a nice starter kit as you get lots of dots in the pack.
