Easy to learn, durable and fu
Gifted this to my nephews whose first language is not English. It was very easy to teach them and a lot of fun to play.
I like the improvement over the materials, feels sturdier than the earlier versions.
I don’t fully like the new progression design of the map, but maybe I am too used to the old one so it could be down to just personal choice.
    Good product otherwise, definitely recommend.

This is our third expansion pack and it provides a lovely contrast in style and allure to the game. Highly recommend.

Dixit is a great game and the cards in this expansion are just as wacky and twisted as the original set.

A great game that engages the players' imaginatio
Our family loves playing Dixit whenever we get together for a meal, and we always take it on family holidays. The challenge of deciding which card is the “correct” one, and the fun and laughter prompted by competing “red herrings” create an atmosphere of fun, coupled with the competitive spirit engendered by the race to be first rabbit to finish the course.

    Such a fun game!
This game was extremely fun. After reading the simple instructions only once, it was easy to figure the game out, and was also very fun. Packaging was very well presented, and the cards dealt to everyone were also good. The only reason why it’s only 4-stars is that it needs something else. All the elements in the game are well thought out, presented & packaged. However, it gets a little boring after a while of rotating the storyteller. If there was some other thing, like missions or something, that would upgrade this review to 5-stars

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGreat family game
It’s nice to have a bit of a different type of game to play as a family. Even the 6 year old did well. Easy instructions to follow. We are taking it on our big family get together this year as perfect game for different age ranges 6 years-72 years) to play. We are looking at purchasing the extension packs, not that they are needed, it’s just we love the game so much!

Great game, but the older version was a nicer set, preferred having the 6 numbers per person rather than the number wheel.

    Deceptively fu
It may seem like a simple and silly game to those who I explain it to for the first time. But sure as anything, everyone gets into this game. And rhe creative, or lack there of, juices begin to flow.
    Enjoyable for anyone and everyone

Absolutely delightful game. Unlike most other board games, it relies on subtle connections & communication skills between the players. Also wonderfully ambiguous picture cards, as an essential ingredient to stimulate the imagination. I love it, completely hooked.
Needs a minimum of 3 players, better with more.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSuch a beautiful engaging game
This is the master beautiful game I have ever seen and played. The art work is wonderful and really sparks the imagination. This game is really engaging and fun to play. Really gets you thinking about language and imagination. My daughter is a naturally poetic descriptive person and took to this game like a fish in water and so absolutely loves it, but my son is more logical and laterally thinking and this really helped push his way of interpretation and communication. Great fun for adults too. Highly recommend!

    Excellent fu
I played this with my teenage children and we all enjoyed it. It is a well thought out game. It worked with the 3 of us but I think it will be better when we play with 4 as we will then place one card each rather than 2 and I think that will work better. But still good fun with the 3 of us.

Fantastic Interesting Game - Not for Everyone Though
Not quite as I expected, but a great fun game.
Dixit: Revelations invites you to go beyond what you see at first glance and discover what lies hidden between, In these stylized pieces, reminiscent of New York City’s architecture and glass Tiffany lamps, you’ll find many allusions to ancient myths and folk tales.
Go on, give it a go.

my husband and I got really sucked into i
played this game for the first time this summer with some friends and their 10yr old daughter and after being very sceptical to start with, my husband and I got really sucked into it. A very engaging game which will have you think, laugh and make you discover something new about people you are playing with. Great for adult and older kids alike. It has taken a place of pride in our board game cupboard and we play it at practically every family gathering.
The only downside is that you have to keep buying new cards in order to keep it interesting as after a while of playing with the same people you know which associations your players have with most pictures, which makes the game less engaging.

    Lovely Game
This is a lovely game. In this game, you will choose a picture, and pick a phrase based on that picture. The other players basically want to guess which one is yours. It’s very open-ended. It’s the kind of game where winning doesn’t matter too much, but is more of a social experience.

Although I like the game a lot, here are two problems with the game:
    – Some people just can’t come up with good clues to save their life (or they take too long to do so)
    – After about 20 games, the cards in the base set will start to get repetitive (my copy will probably stay on the shelf until I get round to buying the expansion). However, I think with a couple of expansions, this game will have fine re-playability.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersGorgeous.
Dixit is an absolutely beautiful game from top to bottom, featuring a large deck of big cards, saturated with colour and charm. It’s an easy game to learn, plays very quickly and manages to be non-confrontational whilst still remaining competitive. It can be played by 3 to 6 players, although I think it works best with 5 or 6.

Each turn, one person will play a card face down in the middle of the table and reveal some sort of cryptic clue about it. Everyone else around the table then picks a card from their hand that best matches the same clue. Once everyone has played their cards face down, they are shuffled and revealed face up. Players will then vote on which card they think was the original and score based on whether they get it right, or if if they manage to mislead the other voters to pick their own card.

This leads to some really interesting exchanges between players. The scoring system works in a way in which you want some people in the room to guess your clue right, but not everyone, meaning your clues have to not be too easy or too difficult, or target individuals in the room. Whilst this might sound like two people who know each other very well will give an unfair advantage, the amount of clues that I’ve seen backfire in hilarious fashion is much more than I would have imagined.

For example: I was playing with my girlfriend and a few friends. I played a card with a man full of post-it notes and said the clue “The Fridge” (referring to the fridge in our flat that’s covered with notes). Thinking this was fairly obvious for my girlfriend to get, whilst unlikely for anyone else to guess, somebody revealed a card that ruined my whole plan: A cat looking into a fish bowl. The way that someone had interpreted my clue and flipped it on it’s head due to some imaginative thinking was incredible.. and it happens quite a lot in this game.

This is again an easy recommendation from me. I play lots of different board games and this is a great social one that works well with any audience, even if they’re not really into games. It plays quick, is easy to teach and is a really pretty package overall. Add it to your collection ASAP!

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersAn elegant and beautiful game
You’ve played Monopoly, Cluedo and Risk. You may have played Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne. Each of these games are great in their own way and are great for families to play. The latter three games are the least divisive and have many different strategies available to win which make them games you want to play again and again.

Dixit is a game unlike any of these games. In fact it is unlike any other game I have ever played before or since. Each time you play the game it becomes both easier and more difficult. It’s a very subtle game that pulls on your creative thinking. Trying to work out what phrase (or mime etc.) for a particular picture will spark an equal response from some of your fellow players, but crucially not all, is what makes this game challenging. Too subtle and your friends miss the connection. Too obvious and you are penalised. Please do not to let this put you off. Dixit is a game that has intrigue in every round. Trying to guess the Storyteller’s card is not straight forward. Each other player gives in a card that they think best represents the given phrase and they are shuffled before being revealed. With one card per player it can be difficult to distinguish the Storyteller’s cards from the charlatans.

The most recent time I played there were eight of us, aged between 28 and 60. There were only five takers for the game; the remaining three were seemingly more interested with their mobile phone or tablet devices and let the rest of us play. As soon as the cards were revealed in the first round they downed their electronics and were enthralled by the game. Each of them tried to guess at the Storyteller’s card and even helped their partner during the game. Much like other reviewers have said, the scoring is not the most important aspect of this game. I have never once seen an argument playing this game, and I do not expect I will. I have even played with my family who cannot get through a game of Monopoly without at least two people storming off or the board being launched at the nearest wall.

Should you buy this game? If you want a game that is relaxing yet though provoking, creative while lacking a need for strategic thought and a game without conflict then this is a great game to buy. There is no game like it so it will not be in direct competition with other titles you may have. The content in the box is more than enough to fully enjoy the game for a long time so there should be no need to add the expansions for a good while yet. I would stress that this is a game best played with either five or six players. A three player game does not have quite the same feel compared to a game with at least five players.

I hope this review has been helpful. If you have any comments add them. If you have any questions about the game I am more than happy to answer them as best as I can.

    Great alternative board game.
Bought this game as I played it at my language school to try to help with improving vocabulary and using descriptive language.

The idea of the game is that you are allocated 6 picture playing cards.
The “storyteller” then describes one of their cards, but without giving too much precise information, the other players then choose one of their cards which they feel the story could’ve been talking about. Can be a one word description or merely a noise.
These cards are returned to the storyteller, who then places them on the table, and all players have to try to guess which card the storyteller was describing. If everyone guesses the correct card, all players score points except the storyteller, as the storyteller gave too much information… There are a few additional rules to the game…

As you can see above this means that people have to try to be descriptive similar to maybe charades…

A picture is worth a thousand words.
This game is one exquisite piece of art in addition to its fun and brainstorming value. Great with both family & friends i always have a blast playing it. Cards may need some sleeving since they are huge and could bend bad and wear off quickly. Replay value comes with expansions as you can get up to 4×84=336 different cards and mix and match them as you like so a single card could hardly come twice in subsequent games. It never gets old as you can always try to create dozens of alternative descriptions for a single card as it pushes you to think, be creative and be logical with your associations. It works with all kinds of groups, with its 2 min explain the rules time its great gateway card game, superb party game and all in all if i have to give hint words they are “A picture can tell thousand stories”.
