Liforme GripForMe

Patanjali nailed it when he said: “Sthira Sukham Asanam” (Asana is a steady comfortable posture).

One of the most important functions of a Yoga mat is to provide grip. Slipping around can make your practice ineffective, or even dangerous.

We took all of this to heart, when we scoured the planet for the best possible materials for our Liforme Travel Mat.

We believe our revolutionary “GripForMe” material is the grippiest Yoga mat material currently available on earth. And it stays grippy even when ‘sweaty wet’.

Feeling is believing. GripForMe

    It us easy to clear
    The non- slip is excellent
The only downside is it feels colder to lay on than other mats in meditation.

The best yoga mat ever! Will never slip on this mat. Love it and would definitely buy another.
Only downside is that it is very heavy. The carry bag could do with being a little longer. You need to roll it up perfectly to get it back in the bag and this can be tricky.

This really does work. My hands used to slip all the time on my old mat (which was about 30 I think). I resorted to using a towel at the end of the mat. After 6 months of having this I’m delighted enough to leave a rare review. It works. No towel needed. It’s still in good condition too. Yes it’s a bit pricey, but I’d highly recommend it and will buy the same again when the time comes – given the current condition and usage (twice a week), that’ll be 2+ years off yet.

I use the mat for Yoga and find myself more confident and stable during balance poses as my feet do not move – no stretching of, or slipping on the mat’s surface.
Markings on the surface are very useful to position yourself for certain postures.
Excellent, just what I’ve been looking for.

I have been practicing Yoga for about 10 years now and had owned 6 mats before I finally bought this one. This isn’t the cheapest but by far the best mat. The price was the reason why I hesitated purchasing but this mat will get you to the next level of your practice and I only wish I bought this earlier! I love that this mat is fully biodegradable, the design is not just pretty but it also helps you with alignment. The mat provides plenty of grip so you don’t need to worry about your hands and feet slipping at downward facing dog! Buy this, and you won’t regret it!

Love these mats alinement is great and none slip this is my second liform mat as I do feet up yoga too and my other one became scratched and a bit slippy but it is still a great mat used for feet up yoga

This is my first yoga mat, purchased to provide stability for yoga done on my lounge carpet whilst in lockdown. The mat doesn’t slip on the carpet and provides a good, stable base. However, I do find it a bit slippy under my hands when in downward dog – I can feel my hands sliding out slightly and have to keep making micro-adjustments. That being said, with a bit of sticky hand cream on my hands to provide some grip, that issue is resolved. Its a good thickness which is supportive and it cleans up beautifully. The bag it came in appears sturdy, no busted seams yet and so I recommend this, I think its worth the money.

if you do alot of yoga its about the best out there, good grip , good outside , easy to clean my daughter has now ordered one you can easily spent a lot less but I found I was buying a couple a year so this is a better investme

Hands down the best yoga mat I’ve ever owned.

I’ve always struggled with my hands slipping on other mats when doing a more high intensity workout but not a single slip on this one. The grip is great.

Very easy to wipe down and clean also. The price does seem a bit steep but its definitely worth it. I would highly recommend this product.

I have to say, its fantastic! Just not sure where they reach 105 retail price. I’m a very experienced product designer and inventor and 105 for this crazy expensive. BUT, as I say, the mat is AMAZING.

I was unsure about the cost compared to other mats but as it was recommended to me by more experienced yoga practitioners I invested in it and I am very pleased I did. Non slip surface helps when its sweaty and hot, its heavy and thick so doesn’t move once laid down and provides excellent cushioning and I am finding the alignment lines very useful.

Very grippy which is just what I wanted as it makes standing poses feel so much more secure. A bit thinner than I am used and it is heavier to carry (in its case with shoulder strap) to but neither is a problem. The lines are interesting – be good to know more about how their shape and position was determined – so far I have found the centre line especially helpful. Seems expensive for a yoga mat but it is the best one I have had by a long way so I do not regret spending the extra/difference on it. Hope it lasts a good long time.

I love this mat, I was a tad apprehensive about buying it due to the price , but the alignment likes just help me so much , stops me doubting that I have the right positioning , I’m only a beginner and this mat has encouraged me to practice more at home and has made my practice more fulfilling. Easy to store away thanks to the carry bag , and the extra size means I stay on the mat , well bar when I end up falling due to my lack of experience !

This is a fantastic yoga mat!
The backing makes it completely non slip, even on a wooden floor.
I suffer from knee problems and this mat has a good level of comfort and support.
The markings also help with alignment while I’m practicing.
Not the cheapest of mats but after trying several others definitely worth i

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI tore a shoulder ligament recently during Lockdown when my flimsy home mat slipped during a transition and I landed awkwardly. This meant no yoga or anything much for 4 weeks and still twinging – NOT GOOD. That decided me – invest in a good mat. This mat has restored my confidence and then some, plus it’s so much more comfortable – kneeling poses now don’t come with a wince! I didn’t think I’d make use of the alignment markers, being a fairly seasoned practitioner, but actually I do find myself re-aligning. They are useful, for sure. I haven’t commented on the mat’s durability as I haven’t had it long enough but I suspect, with the right care, it should hold together well.

I have used my mat every other day for over a year now and think that it is the best yoga mat which I’ve had. I like that there are alignment markings which have helped with my posture in stance with excellent grippy surface. The one fallback was that it was expensive but over all with the longevity of use, it has been worth it. Some of the other reviews have mentioned the smell – yes there is a slight odour when new, however this dissipated pretty soon after I started using it.

One year on, and I still am on my mat. Some of my yoga colleagues have tried out a couple of down dogs on my mat in the last year, and they suddenly all have this mat too … albeit in different colours. The mat is wide enough for comfort, and secretly I love that couple of extra cm’s of extra space in a tightly packed class. It is a nice thickness for comfort during shivasana, but not so thick that it affects your capacity for balance during standing / balancing sequences. No slipping on this mat, it’s so grippy that I actually burned my toe by dragging myself / rather than ‘gliding’ from one posture into another… (only happened once, I wasnt used to HOW grippy the mat is). I love this mat.

Bloody lovely. I knew I wanted a smooth one ( hate those cheap textured mats)
Had no idea but when I got mine out in class, turned out 90% if my class had these mats! I know why. It’s perfect! Thin, light but still slaps down flat and heavily on the floor without curling up. Super comfy and grippy ( non slip) despite being thin and smooth.
Also comes ina sturdy zip up, branded, carry bag with strong strap. Lovely

Great yoga mat. Nice and grippy. I have been doing yoga for about a year and having used cheaper foam type mats before, although a little pricier, the lifeform is a considerable step change in quality and performance. The alignment lines also make a real difference. Managed to buy during Amazon sale days with 20% off normal price it was a no brainer.

Am really pleased with my purchase was not a cheap option but I certainly notice the difference from my earlier mat. It is a little heavy but carrying is easy with the bag and shoulder strap that comes with is. It makes an awful lot of difference when kneeling on my knees and also the mat does not ruck up when you move it stays in place. Am really pleased glad I decided to go with it will not be swapping it for a cheaper alternative!

Early days but first impressions are:-
The mat is very well made.
The alighnment marks really do help even though I have been practicing yoga for 20 yrs.
But the most noticeable feature is the superior grip. Poses like warrior…triange and down dog are so much better.
The grip gives confidence to play with the edge of your boundaries without worrying about your hands and feet slipping
The mat is expensive but if you have a regular practice then go for it….without doubt this is the best mat I have used (and I have owned many ). I fully recommend this mat for a truly grounded practice!!

My yoga experience has transformed whilst using this mat! As ridiculous as that statement seems, I never realised how much I jiggled in downdog because of a bumpy mat. This mat just stays! Alignment markers didn’t factor into my purchase, I would not be without them now – love the help they give me in, well….. most postures actually. It’s thin, but comfy and really durable and durable is the carry bag too, with a meaty zip and shoulder pad. It’s eco friendly so another tick. My only observation ( criticism) is that a dark colour is preferable for me because it can mark, from sweat, makeup etc. I treated my self to this mat and it continues to treat me every practise! Thank you Liforme.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI hardly ever leave feedback on here but this deserves it. I wasn’t sure wether to spend this amount of money of yoga mat but I’m so glad I did! This mat is the absolute one!
My hands sweat loads during practise and I’m usually slipping about all over the place but not anymore! The grip is incredible.
The size is perfect for me (I’m 5″7) and the lines on the mat, which I thought I wouldn’t use, are actually really helpful.
It’s a good amount of cushioning without being too thick and it’s not too heavy to carry in the very handy bag it comes with. It also has good grip on the back so I can practise on carpet.
The colour is just gorgeous (I got it in pink!) I absolutely love this Mat!
If you are still contemplating and pouring over reviews comparing mats… just get this one you will not be disappointed!

Golden Review Award: 47 From Our UsersI found myself constantly buying new yoga mats, because they just weren’t up to the job. Too stretchy, too slippy, too thick, too thin, just poor quality. Liforme mats are the best, they are made of natural rubber with no strong chemical odour, (however this does make the regular mat very heavy at 2.5kg), they do make a thinner, lighter travel mat, which is a great alternative if you need to carry your mat any distance. The mats have guide lines that make it easy to get correct asana alignment. The mat grip is fantastic and it absorbs moisture, so no sweaty slips. The regular mat is 4.2mm thick, which I find perfect for comfort and balance. If your a serious Yogi, don’t be put off by the price. When I think about all the money I wasted on cheap mats, I could have bought one of these in the first place. Namaste X

Only had the mat for 24 hours but I’m in love! I suffer from very sweaty hands when I do yoga and struggle to not slide on to my face in downward dog. This mat has the perfect grip for me, not so sticky that my feet get stuck but grippy enough to feel relaxed in challenging postures where grip is necessary. The alignment markings are very useful too. The only downside for me is it’s not very thick, so I use my old mat underneath to cushion my boney knees. For the record I’ve tried numerous mats and yoga towels over the years and none have come close to this… oh and the cat loves it too, she tries to use it as a scratching mat much to my dismay… have they infused it with catnip??

I was persuaded to spend this much money on a yoga mat after I bought a cheaper one and struggled to control my downward dog! I read many reviews and spoke to my yoga teacher who reassured me that it was not my posture or lack of it that caused my hands to slip but the nature of my previous mat. My Liforme mat arrived promptly and everything about the mat, carry bag and packaging indicated quality. However far more importantly I now love my downward dogs and can relax into poses knowing that no matter how sweaty my hands, they will not slip. The alignment guides are brilliant too! It is heavy to carry to classes, but not so much so I will be buying the travel version just yet!!!! I will need to save up first.

Well the mat lived up to the hype and is much lighter than I expected and extremely sticky. No way I am going to slip on this.
But, having used it only once attempted to zip up the carry case and the zip broke. The case looks cheap and in my opinion is of poor quality. Odd given that the mat is such a high end product. Have written to Liforme asking for a replacement.

This is without a doubt the best quality yoga mat I have ever used. It does not slip even when you sweat. It is a bit heavy to carry around, so perhaps not as easy to transport as some other brands, but the carrying case is very ergonomic. The alignment markings are also a really useful feature. I use mine regularly for Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi both at home and in classes. I bought it in black for easy cleaning! Definitely worth the money if you do a lot of mat work.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI found this product when I was searching for a new mat. Initially the price made me gulp but, having carried out more research including reading previous customer reviews I took the plunge and I am so glad that I did! The quality is excellent! I’ve ready reviews from people who sad it was difficult to get it back into the bag or that the bag itself wasn’t very good. My experience is totally different. I had no trouble getting it into the bag, nor with the quality of the bag – which has a padded area near the top to make carrying comfortable. The mat is of a good thickness and the alignment guide is very helpful. The grip is good too. I would highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersI have struggled with slippery yoga mats in the past when practicing Ashtanga or Dynamic Yoga despite investing in well known brands. I researched it long and hard due to the price point, but finally took the plunge and can confirm that this mat is super grippy. I can now concentrate on the pose rather than ensuring I don’t slip and injure myself or inadvertently end up doing the splits! ( which I can’t btw! ) That is why I have no qualms leaving a 5 star review.

The main con for me – which may not affect other people – is how incredibly heavy I find it in comparison to my old mat. I used to carry my old mat walking to/from work and to the gym, but the first time I did that I found it impossible for me ( walking 20+ min ) So I had to rent a large locker at the gym in the end.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI bought this mat as I was fed up of slipping around dangerously on my previous mat. I have had a variety of different mats over the last ten years but decided it was time to bite the bullet and get a decent, if more pricey one. So far I’ve only used it once, in an unheated class, but it was a huge improvement and am waiting to see how it performs in a Hot Yoga session. This is the mat used by loads of my contemporaries , who can’t be wrong!
I’m really looking forward to my Hot Yoga class tomorrow.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI just took this mat to my yoga class for the first time and it made such a difference. We use Lululemon mats in class and they, i have always thought were really good, although i used to slip a bit, so when i was in class today i really noticed how stable i felt in my poses especially 3 legged dog which is where my hands usually slide. It was really good having all the markings too, I found that I rose up to a lunge and warrior pose a lot more solidly.
The carry case is a bit fiddly to get the mat in and out of but once its in it makes the mat feel effortless to carry
