Highly recommended
I love this keyboard! I had bought a cheaper pink one before but it was not fluid when typing so missed out load of letters – this however is perfect. It picks up on every letter! I had bought a pink ipad and would say the only disappointing thing is – you can’t see the pink ipad because the case covers most of it! But it is a brilliant keyboard / case so no complaints
The box looks exactly the same as the Folio Touch, with the magnetic lid on the side and inside is the case.
Now, the case is split in half, at the top there is the keyboard and under it is the cover. There is also a manual, well attached to the box.
It looks to be slimmer and lighter than the Folio Touch, but the one was not detachable. The case has slimmer bumper and it will fit even if the iPad has a screen protector on and it will not interfere. The trademarks of this protective cover is the Smart Connector for instant power and pairing, and, it doesn’t have only this connector, it has another one on the side, where the keyboard connects. This is a great use of the Smart Connector.
I like that it has the cutout for the Apple Pencil and you’ll see in a minute why, it has nice cutouts for the charging ports and the speakers. The power and the volume buttons are covered and protected. This means that you can’t use the fingerprint reader on the iPad Air.
At the back it has this adjustable kickstand that comes in handy when the tablet is on View Mode and it looks to be improved compared to the one on the Folio Touch. Another difference is that it has this “Logi” logo here, whilst the old one didn’t.
This protective case can be used with iPad Pro gen 1, gen 2 and gen 3. But it is best suited for the 3rd generation, because of the cutouts for the speakers.
The third generation iPad Pro has shorter speaker grills that align perfectly with the cutouts and the second generation iPad Pro has longer speaker grills which are not aligned with the cutouts and half of the grill is covered. Another thing to consider on the 2nd gen iPad Pro is that the microphone on the side is also covered.
The keyboard is really thin, probably the same as the Folio Touch. Just by looking at this, the only 2 visual differences are the Smart Connector at the top that line up with the with the case and the arrow keys which now look like an inverted T, similar to the keyboard on the MacBook.
At the top it has the shortcut keys which are well received and very useful: the home button, the screen brightness buttons, the on screen keyboard button, the search button, the backlight button which has 16 levels, the media keys, the mute and volume keys and the screen-lock button.
The typing experience on this keyboard is really nice, same as the Folio Touch, the keys are the same, good sized and spaced and i found it comfortable to type on. I would have liked more travel when i press the keys though.
On the bottom left corner it has the Language Button. Now, I do see the use of this button and comes in handy if you are a bilingual person or learning a second language. If not, then it can help with the emojis.
Logitech offers multi-language layout keyboards, now the question is: can these be bought separately?
The best feature of this keyboard, besides the shortcut keys at the top, is the big trackpad at the bottom. It is bigger than the one on the Magic Keyboard and it performs the same.
Compared to the one on the Folio Touch, this one can be pressed anywhere whereas on the other keyboard case, the trackpad could only be pressed on the bottom half.
It has the same feedback regardless of where the trackpad is pressed, a really good improvement.
The gestures work great, fast and accurate.
The Logitech Combo Touch can be used in 4 modes.
The first one is Typing mode which will probably be the most used mode, that’s why someone would get this keyboard case, right?
Thanks to the adjustable kickstand, it offers different viewing angles. It is best to use it on the desk or flat surfaces. It would be a bit uncomfortable if you plan to put it on your lap and type like that. It does require more space than, let’s say, the Magic Keyboard or the Brydge AirMax+.
The Combo Touch can also be used in View Mode. Just detach the keyboard and adjust the kickstand for the optimum viewing angle. Can watch films or even play on your iPad.
If you extent the kickstand to the maximum, you will get the Sketch mode which is great for drawing and taking notes and if you fully close the kickstand, you can use the tablet in Read Mode which is quite comfortable to use and compared to the Folio Touch, you don’t have the keyboard at the back and press the keys.
However, if you want to take the keyboard with you or you can’t drop it anywhere while using the Read Mode, just detach the keyboard, turn it around and attach it to the case, this way the keys are protected.
I think this is a great product, the 360 degree protection for the iPad is a must, the shortcut keys are very useful and the huge trackpad is well received!
Great Keyboard
This keyboard is just perfect substitute for apple ones .A lot cheaper and feels so good to type and use for many other purposes. So easy to set up and the whole thing works like a chrome book or even better. I’m really happy I chose this keyboard than the apple one which was nearly half the price of my iPad ai
Integrates nicely
Really nice quality case, tactile keyboard and nice to use trackpad for the iPad Pro. Integrates nicely with iPad OS, with swipe gestures and satisfying clicky keys on the trackpad and keyboard. I love the colour and it has a great looking and feeling fabric on the outside. Seems durable and makes the whole iPad experience much closer to a MacBook experience if that’s what you’re after.
Days of my laptop are gone! Ipad 11 m1
Slightly hesitant that this case is advertised for only gen1 and gen 2 Ipad pro. I have 11′ 2021 M1 gen 3. I got this case to try it out. So save yourself money and buy with confidence that this case fits perfectly the latest Ipad pro 11. Everything fits & works as it should.
Now to review part. The case adds to the weight and portability of your ipad. The QWERTY keyboard is small and definitely not as smooth as your laptop, but for small typing jobs, I wont complain. Either ways, you’ll be happy with the purchase.
Works fine with iPad Pro 10.5”
Got this for my aging-gracefully iPad Pro 10.5″. Absolutely fantastic, the only niggle (which I knew about in advance) is the trackpad can’t be pressed at the top but other than that I think I’ll be leaving my laptop at home from now on!
You can use it for the new 9th GEN iPad!
If your not sure about it being useable with the latest 9th gen iPad, I can say that it does, apple haven’t refreshed the design this year or for the last few years at least, the main changes are the internals. It actually feels really premium and I was actually surprised to see how well packaged it game, if compatibility was your only concern, buy it!
Awesome!!
I’m all about looks, and I have to say this may not be the sexiest looking keyboard case. That’s said, it shouts out quality!!
It’s a little bulky, but it does feel extremely well built and protective. It turns the iPad into a solid mini laptop and has all the integration with iOS. E.g. a lot of cheap keyboard out there can’t wake/sleep the screen automatically but this one does.
I’m overall very happy with the purchase. I did think about buying the variance with a touchpad, but it’s doubling the price and heavier to carry. So the slim version is good for me!
I bought the iPad Pro 12.9 M1 as a laptop replacement. The keyboard (and apple pencil) have helped me achieve this, I can do everything I need, and more. The build quality is excellent and the material used doesn’t show any annoying fingerprints and is easy to wipe down and keep clean. I have tried the apple magic keyboard, and in comparison the combo touch wins hands down. The feedback from the keys is the same on both but the keyboard felt cramped on the magic, there is more room on the combo touch and the trackpad is larger and very responsive. There are apple shortcut keys which are really handy and of course the keys are backlighted.
The sides of my iPad are protected at all times with the combo where the magic there is no protection. The stand allows lots of viewing angles and is secured by magnet when not in use, so it doesn’t flap about. I often remove the keyboard section when I don’t need it, or reverse the keyboard then fold it around the back. When closed completely again by magnet and very secure locking the iPad at the same time. The keys have not scuffed or scratched the screen when closed, but I do use a screen protector anyway. Overall I’m really impressed, looks great, no messing with a Bluetooth keyboard, simply attach and you are ready to go.
Definitely worth the money
I purchased an 8th generation ipad and was looking for a keyboard. This item sold out on the apple website. There was no way I was purchasing a keyboard for my new ipad no matter how “magic” it was for the price they were asking for with no track pad. Thankfully amazon saved the day. This keyboard is amazing. It doubles up as protective case for the ipad. I really like it and it was worth the money. A little heavy, but still worth it.
Superb. Third one in the family!
Superb product. This is the third one we have brought. Ideal foe guided home learning and for school use. I’m a teacher. I have a Y7 and a y11 too and they love this. Easily flips so they can watch movies but cannot detach so the screen is always covered and protected when not in use. Perfect.
Well made but heavy
Bought this as the reviews said it was better than the Apple equivalent and a lot cheaper.
The case covers the iPad to prevent the edges from being banged but i’m not sure it would protect it a great deal if dropped.
The keyboard is responsive and the trackpad works really well.
My only criticisms are it would have been nice to have a cover to protect your Apple pencil, instead it just sits on the edge.
I’m not sure how long the kickstand will last with it constantly being put in different positions to view the screen.
It makes the iPad quite weighty, which in some ways is good, however you’ll feel it if carried for long periods of time.
Overall i’m pleased with it, time will tell if it lasts the test of time.
Alternative to the magic keyboard
I got this as a cheaper alternative to the magic keyboard after seeing other reviews favouring this one. I use this frequently and I think it’s great. It’s sturdy, easy to use for touch typing and the keyboard is detachable to allow to use the iPad as a tablet but keeping a good sturdy case for protection. I highly recommend this
Does fit pro 11 2021
This does fit the iPad Pro 11 inch purchased in august 2021 from Apple store. Third generation. Don’t get caught and buy the one advertised as for third gen at 120 quid more.
This version comes with a (presumably) manufacturer provided sticker that says 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation iPad Pro.
Works well.
A good produc
I have left the feature of battery life low because it does not have batteries but uses those from you ipad pro. Good features and easy to type with and the cursor movement pad is good.
Fantastic keyboard and touch pad, game changer for the iPad
The Logitech keyboard is brilliant and definitely worth the money! It has a track pad and it uses the magnetic function to connect to the iPad like the Apple versions.
It has been really good on the train and the case that goes on the back of the iPad is really sturdy.
It just works
I ordered one of these for my new iPad Pro 3rd Gen, then released the description states 1st and 2nd gen.
For people who have bought the 3rd gen 11inch iPad Pro this still fits like a glove. Even the box states it’s ok for this generation.
It fits really well. The keyboard types like a 2015 MacBook Air. Takes about 45 seconds to pair via Bluetooth.
Excellent product appalling delivery by Amazo
The product is very good and by good fortune undamaged. But to have quite an expensive piece of electrical equipment squashed through the letterbox and then falling to the floor was not acceptable. No place in Amazon review about delivery to comment on such things.
Fantastic style and well worth the money
This keyboard is really great, sturdy, stylish and very slim. Stands up well in a few ppsitions and great to type on. Function keys are usedul and it goes v well with ipad air. Great case with magnetic pencil holder.
Great keyboard
This works very well. The fact that it’s powered from the iPad is ideal. One less thing to charge. It’s a very good keyboard which doubles as a case. It’s very easy to detach the keyboard part when you don’t need it.
Excellent quality but …..
Whilst this is undoubtedly excellent quality- Logitech after all produce good products – I am somewhat disappointed hence only 4 stars. Probably my mistake in not paying attention to measurements but I had intended to be able to use the keyboard with my brand new iPad Air 4 on my lap as I have done since my first iPad Air. Unfortunately because of the depth of the trackpad this makes it impossible to use the keyboard unless I am sitting at a desk/table. So I am back to typing on the screen with the keypad folded underneath. It does angle the screen well (and is adjustable).
My other disappointment is that it is so heavy. After all it is for the super thin and light Air 4 but the case cancels this out.
Having said all the above I have to say it really is excellent quality, robust, and very smart to look at when closed. Love the smart connector feature and no need to charge separately as it draws power from the iPad
Great and half the price of the apple versio
I like the Logitech name – their products are usually very good, well built and long lasting. I think this is/will be no exception. It’s half the price of the apple keyboard and I’m finding it absolutely fine. I’m not even sure how it charges because I have not needed to do so – I think it probably just takes it from the ipad? You fit the case around the ipad – easy and solid – and the keyboard just “magnetically” links to the ipad. It closes up to be a front cover when not in use. I was asked to rate touch screen which is not applicable! Minor niggles? The stand at the back plus keyboard means that the 12.8 inch version that I have doesn’t easily just sit on my knee for use – it’s just a bit too big. And you would not fit this size on – say – an aircraft pull down table. But lovely on a desk or table. You can easily pull the keyboard off to use just the ipad in touchscreen mode only. One or two keys feel like they are in the wrong place for the UK market and I’ve had to go looking for things I use a lot!
I’ve been using the Apple Magic keyboard with trackpad for the best part of a year, which unfortunately has some limitations. My main gripe was the lack of protection around the sides, and worrying that I’d scratch my 12.9″ iPad Pro when I place it in my bag. The Logitech folio case is absolutely superior in every way over Apple’s offering, and I’ll hopefully cover why this’s the case in this review.
**UNBOXING AND SET-UP**
-The keyboard folio ships in a slim box. Included is the folio shell for the 12.9″ iPad Pro, detectable keyboard and a set of instructions.
-I’m using this folio case with a 2020 iPad Pro (NOT the 5th 2021 M1 version for which it is designed) and can report that it fits absolutely fine. The only thing I noticed was that the speaker alignment is very slightly out (see attached picture), but this does not affect functionality in any way.
-Applying the case was super quick and easy- literally just snaps into place!
-The keyboard is instantly recognised (there is some Logitech software to download form the App store to keep firmware up-to-date). Power is taken from the smart connector so no bluetooth pairing required.
**DESIGN AND BUILD QUALITY**
-The folio feels very well made and offers ample protection, as all sides of my iPad are covered.
-The folio can be detached so using the iPad as a tablet/in kickstand mode without the keyboard is very convenient.
-There is a cut-out on the top for the Apple Pencil.
-The folio has a material finish that appears to be hydrophobic, so can be wiped clean with a damp cloth if it gets dirty.
-There is a kickstand on the back, allowing for a range of viewing angles.
**KEYBOARD AND TRACKPAD**
-The keyboard is really very good, and offers shallow, yet responsive and tactile button presses. I found the typing experience to be very comfortable (typing this review using the keyboard).
-The best thing about the keyboard is the function keys, which the Apple Magic keyboard with trackpad lacks. There is a search button, return to him, volume, media buttons and Lock Screen keys which enhance productivity and convenience.
-Keys are also backlit which aids with typing in low-light conditions.
-The multi-gesture trackpad is also superb and responsive, and much larger than Apple’s Magic keyboard trackpad. Tracking speed can also be adjusted in settings.
-The iPad will also go into sleep/lock by simply closing the keyboard/folio. Opening the case will also activate the screen as well.
**WEIGHT CONSIDERATIONS**
-The folio and keyboard weigh 780 grams.
-The 2020 iPad Pro 12.9″ weighs 641 grams (wifi only) and the 2021 M1 iPad Pro 12.9″ weighs 682 grams (wifi only).
-Based on this, the combined weight of this folio case/keyboard with an iPad Pro will be almost 1.5kg, almost 200 grams more than a MacBook Air!!
This really is no bad thing and just mentioned for information purposes. The case does add some bulk and heft, but at the price of protection and convenience of productivity. I personally don’t mind the extra weight and hardly notice it as a portable device.
A few negatives about this case.
-The keyboard can be a little tricky to open, and the kickstand can be a little difficult to pull out sometimes.
-When the keyboard is in the closed position, there is a slight gap the hinge (I’ve attached a picture of this).
-Also, this set-up does take a large footprint when in kickstand mode with the keyboard attached.
Conclusively, I would absolutely recommend this as one of the best cases for the iPad Pro on the market today. For my personal needs, it is very convenient and I can finally use my iPad Pro both as a productivity and media consumption device, without much compromise. There are a few limitations as mentioned, but the positives of this folio keyboard far outweigh them.
Perfec
Bought this as a gift for a loved one. Easy to integrate and looks great. Worked immediately and suggested an app to download which isn’t compulsory but keeps the firmware updated.
The magnet clasp also has a magnet on the back to keep it off the screen. Five star purchase. Worth every penny and more affordable than the Apple version.
Brillia
Very easy to use. Although it is slightly heavy, it still looks quite sleek. It gets the job done. Very long battery life. Typing on it is perfect (my typing speed is even quicker on this).
10/10 product.
So impressed that I bought a second.
I am a real Apple junky – love everything Apple.but this keyboard blew me away and this is my second after the last one lasted me two years.
This is a cheaper keyboard and unlike the Apple keyboard holds the Apple Pencil in place on the lid.
Keys are very receptive and its a joy to use.
Here’s to the next two years or so.
Really great!
Just FYI for those looking for info on battery replacement – you can replace the battery by pulling out a small slot behind, I think with those expensive CR2032 batteries. Still, experience is great!
It's perfect and it works
I wanted to turn my iPad into a laptop, to reduce the weight of my bag while travelling. Upon fitting the Logitech Combo Touch to my iPad my first impression was “great product, very functional, but a bit heavy, just slightly lighter than my laptop”. However, it is about 1Kg lighter than my laptop, which is a lot when it comes to portable devices.
I am vey happy with this product, I only fit it to the iPad when I need it, together with a bluetooth mouse, it’s the perfect travelling companion. And, with Office 365, there is nothing I can’t do on the work front and enjoy Apple apps at the same time.
Cool
I enjoy using my keyboard, I do wish there was a notification for when it needs charging as it’s super frustrating to realise you cannot type when the keyboard has low battery. Other than that, it’s super cool
Easily as good as the Apple keyboard
Much much better value for money than the ridiculous apple version. This is as good quality and the trusted Logitech design feels really premium and not a compromise at all.
Love this case
Very good for turning your Ipad into a computer. the Stand is adjustable to all heights, perfect for all positions. the trackpad is great. the keypad are a little shallow but very nice to use. This is better than apples magic keyboard in my opinio
Excelle
It is very good. Protects my ipad nicely and the keys are good. Only one slight thing and that is no forward delete only a back delete although there are positioning arrows.
Anyway pleased I bought it.
Great all round keyboard case for the 12.9 if a little weighty
The good: Great keyboard for the iPad Pro which offers good protection as well. It has good battery life and feels solid unlike a lot of other third party folios out there, but I’d expect no less from Logitech.
The bad: Points I’m not so fond of however are that it adds a lot of weight to the iPad 12.9, which, on its own, I find very light for a device of it’s size. This decreases portability a little as you go from barely noticing the iPad is in your bag to feeling like you’re carrying around a slim A4 hard back or similar.
The protection around the edges, while it does have symbols for where to press for the physical buttons on the iPad, they are literally just symbols and not separate sections that indent any more easily than the rest of the side material, so if you’re someone that doesn’t have a lot of strength in their hands, you may find it near impossible to press the the buttons on the edges of the iPad.
Otherwise, if you don’t mind the extra weight and want something that’s going to give you a comfortable keyboard and keep your iPad safe, this is probably a great buy for you.
Excellent keyboard case for iPad ai
This case holds the iPad Air securely. The keypad is positive and easy to use. The adjustable angle is good though I wonder how long the ‘mechanism’ will remain secure.
It is much more costly than standard cases or basic key boards, but I am very happy with this Logitech Folio touch iPad keyboard case.
Great product and value for money
Good product and exactly what I wanted. Only started using it, seems heavy duty so will have to wait to see the longevity of the quality of the product.
Value for money.
I wished I had remembered John Ruskin and bought this first.
I have had Logitech keyboard for IPads before and found they where excellent. My fingers naturally found the right keys, the way they felt under my fingers was perfect.
The battery so far has lasted well.
I had bought a cheaper keyboard, arguing with myself that it would do the job. It didn’t !
It turned out to be a complete waste of time and money. Causing a lot of frustration.
As I wrote in my title, I wished I had remembered this by John Ruskin (1819-1900) as my experience matched it.
“It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little.
When you pay too much, you lose a little money – that’s all.
When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you
bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot – it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well
to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”
This Logitech keyboard for me was the “something better “
Worth Every Penny
I got this after watching many reviews on YouTube and was very pleased with the product. Go watch a few videos to convince you but very good for the price and definitely a competitor for the Apple Magic Case. Logitech work with Apple closely and this is sold by Apple directly as well so the tech is really good and the best on the market excluding Apples own.
Fantastic product!
Fantastic product, couldn’t use the iPad now without it! Typing on the keyboard feels fantastic and offers protection to the iPad itself, top drawer! It’s significantly cheaper than the offering from apple, yet as good, if not better quality!
Adapts the Ipad Air 4 to a very usable equivalent to a lap top
I read a number of reviews for the Apple keyboard and found a comparison to the Logitech. It is brilliant. Key board touch is excellent and the Ipad is easy to fit in and also remove from the Logitech. I have bought another case to use on site as the Logitech would protect the Ipad well but may be susceptible to damage itself. Apple pen fits well and keeps charged.
If you have an Ipad buy one of these!!!
Security excelle
Took a little getting used to after full sized Laptop keyboard. Mouse twitchy, bur again one gets used to its lightness. Overall very pleased with mobility and flexibility away from home, and especially using built in a 4G network when in isolated situations.
Excellent quality cover and keyboard
Brilliant keyboard and cover for our iPad. Nice grey colour. It does add weight but worth it for the quality. Love the different positions you can use it in. Very good value. My husband is really pleased with it.
Does exactly what it says it will do, better than Apple keyboard.
After a couple of other attempts to buy a decent keyboard case for iPad Pro 12.9″ we have only kept this case. Fits perfectly, works perfectly and looks fantastic. Slightly heavier than some we’ve tried but proper protection for the device. Would definitely recommend.
arrival
I ordered the case on the Tuesday and it arrived on the Saturday when I payed for next day delivery. over all the case was really good but I don’t suggest getting next day delivery!
Make sure you leave it to update in the app fully.
The keyboard initially was horrible with it cutting out and the touchpad not responding. After a fix I found online to hole the qwe and cmd key to perform a full update the keyboard worked perfectly.
Compact , light, efficient and just like a regular computer keyboard
This new Logitech keyboard is slim and neat but has the feeling of a normal keyboard. I am a touch typist and write lengthy local history articles regularly every month and it is more than fit for purpose .
Folio touch for iPad Air 4th gen.
Very pleased with it.Goes so well with iPad Air 4th gen. having a trackpad as well makes it into a mini laptop. It’s so responsive and it’s powered from the iPad itself.
Makes life easie
The keys are very responsive and easy to type with, and it is a slimline case. Feels really well built, a quality piece of kit, I was looking at the cheaper logitec case but the track pad on this is so useful that I’m glad I went with this model
A first rate folio.
I have to say i love this Folio from Logitech. Firstly it fits the iPad Air 4th generation perfectly and provides a tight and secure fit with good protection all round. Keyboard is great,so easy and responsive to use and the outer material of the folio is first class too. Overall build quality is superb. The negative has to be the weight and bulk it adds to the ipad, its very noticeable but as I don’t carry mine about very often its not something that bothers me. I managed to purchase this at a lower price from Amazon which was a bonus too. Overall I’m finding this folio superb for daily use and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
Brillia
Watched lots of reviews. Saw this and realised all gestures on trackpad work as Logitech work with Apple. Really surprised how quickly I learnt the gestures and how fluid the experience was. I understand know why a lot of people move to or stay with Apple. Sometimes the pencil doesn’t charge properly with case on but if I take it off it charges fine
Chunky but protective...
This is quite bulky and heavy but it does completely enclose the iPad and feels like it protects it well. The keyboard is lovely to use and the trackpad works well. Space for the Apple Pencil, and the back stand works fine too. Took ages to arrive but worth the wait.
Great Keyboard addition to my IPad Pro
Ok so it doesnt have a track pad, unlike some of the more expensive versions (see the ones 3 times the price), but this keyboard is excellent. The keys have a satisfying feel to them, the backlight is a big help and the general quality of the case and keyboard is excellent. Bare in mind though, this is a weighty addition to the IPad, but it’s worth it for a solid, great quality product.
Nice but bulky
Bought the Logitech slim folio to replace my failing Apple original case with keyboard. Immediately back to working keyboard without issue. Easy setup and connection. Feels like it protects th iPad better but the cost is bulk. It may be slim for Logitech but its considerably bulkier than the apple version. I am still happy with the purchase – having lost 2 apple pencils the Logitech case provides a safer storage. The keyboard is nice to use and backlit too. When folded the case seems to be about twice ad thick. The overall footprint also a little wider on all sides to accommodate the iPad mounting method. This is am happy with as I feel it offers better protection.
High Quality Keyboard for iPad Ai
I bought the new iPad Air 2020 (10.9in) version of this Logitech keyboard after reading reviews of this and the Apple Magic Keyboard. Both are very different designs, there are pros and cons to both. The main pro for the Logitech is of course the price, being less than half the price of the Apple Magic Keyboard, but there are other benefits to this solution too, such as the ability to position the screen at different angles and use it more like a traditional display stand if that’s what you want.
The keyboard is well laid out for the size and feels comfortable to type on with both hands and now that iPads support pointers the trackpad makes this feel more like a traditional laptop, which is far better suited, for me, for productivity such as Word and Excel as well as emailing.
The backlight is a little puny compared to a fully fledged laptop keyboard, but perfectly acceptable. The keys had good travel and feel responsive.
The fishing is an attractive grey fabric which looks hardwearing. The unit is a little chunky when closed up, but still a lot smaller and lighter than most of the other iPad keyboards available, plus this will protect both front and back of your iPad. Your device slots in securely and the keyboard draws the power from the power connector on the rear of your iPad. All buttons are accessible easily, including the tiny Touch ID button on the new iPad Air models.
There’s a small download that your iPad needs to make when you plug the keyboard in for the first time, which allows you to use the external keyboard and mouse function, plus a Logitech app that you can safely bury after installation.
This is a high quality product, works as you would expect with no bugs that I have found so far and is a good price compared to the Apple equivalent. Would happily recommend to any iPad Air owner.
Happy artist review
I’ve been wanting an iPad for a long while now, saved my pennies and finally had enough. I’m a digital illustrator and wanted to have something on the go, but I also wanted access to a keyboard to utilize it as a laptop when I have to travel. Over the last few months I’ve done as much research as I could and decided to go with the logitech slim folio regardless of a few of the obvious cons that seem to come out in every review video.
The folio is heavy, but if you’re used to a laptop, it’s just as weighty. I didn’t have an issue with this as I don’t mind at all.
Next was when the tablet is in “sketch” mode some say the incline is terrible, but for my illustration style it was what made me look at the folio and say it was exactly what I was after. I can adjust slightly what incline I want depending on how it’s folded and it’s made my wrist already feel better than my usual wacom tablet.
The magnet is STRONG, it takes some prying off which I’m all for.
The area for the pencil is also handy, I had borrowed an iPad for a few months to try and hated the official case as I kept knocking off the pencil from the side, so I wont have to worry about it falling off.
So far it’s exactly what I hoped for. I like the weight, I like the edges are covered, and the sound quality isn’t hindered. Great job logitech!
Might be different if you’re an artist depending on what you’re keen on.
Flipping love it!!
I am in love with this! It’s turned my iPad into a laptop. I can use it in the dark with the adjustable back light on the keyboard. It doesn’t need charging. It clips on and off. It holds my pencil. It has a mouse. And the buttons press really nicely.
I couldn’t be more pleased with this!!
Absolutely brillia
A brilliant peace of kit for the iPad Pro “11 you can light/darken the screen from the buttons above
It’s an awful lot cheaper and than apple’s equivalent keyboard and I mean half the cost at least.
It does everything I could need
Good item for your IPad Pro
So far this keyboard and case has been great. I charged it when I first set it up about a month and a half ago and haven’t had to charge it. Responsive keyboard. Recommended overall.
Excellent alternative to apple keyboard
got this for my nephew and set it up for him. wasnt expecting this to be as good as the official apple one i have, but is on par in terms of quality and build. easily charged via usb C and case provides sufficient protection for ipad pro. keyboard is good to type on and no lag etc.
Fantastic product BUT for me it’s just too heavy
Ok so I bought this keyboard for use with my iPad Air 4 but ended up returning it due to it just adding so much weight to the iPad. I’d say if you are somebody who is going to permanently use your iPad with the keyboard then this is right for you. It’s keys are fantastic, touchpad works great and all around is a really high quality product. If like me you use the iPad for a mixture of typing/working/media consumption/reading etc then this probably is too much money to spend on something you are going to want to constantly remove from your iPad when using it for anything other than using the keyboard.
Good case / keyboard but non-standard QWERTY keys
Keyboard has a soft feel and easy to type. However QWERTY keyboard has various keys juxtaposed. The @ and ” and # are not in the normal place along with a few other special characters – weird!!
The keyboard is a little bendy when you pick it up. The case protects the iPad and it has a magnetic strap that secures the case when closed. A good case / keyboard combo but the QUERTY foibles are irritating, hence a dropped star.
Everything Works Well!
Bought for my iPad Pro as I live full time in a van and needed something to make the iPad into a mini computer. Happy with my purchase, easy to set up and worked straight away. Happy to give this 5*****
Great keyboard for my Ipad Pro
Bought this keyboard to go with my new Ipad Pro instead of going for the apple keyboards.
The keyboard is easy to use and has all the right cmd prompts to match apple. The keyboard is backlit and nice to use.
The plus side is that the case also gives your Ipad extra protection in case you drop it.
Over all great purchase for my use.
Turned iPad in mini laptop
I bought this to make the iPad Air 4th generation (2020) I bought for my daughter work as a laptop. It’s easy to connect and it works perfectly well. I tested it and it worked as any other keyboard would and it also has a trackpad which majority of the off brand keyboards don’t have.
I also got the pen for my daughter and it is also possible to store the pen and secure it without losing it. The outside is made of fabric I’m not particularly a fan of the colour but it’s great nonetheless. Sturdy good quality and does what’s it’s meant to do.
Great buy well worth the money.
Perfect companio
Perfect fit, excellent quality, excellent texture
The only downside is its weight. other than that highly recommended. Unless you are working on high-level excel sheets it is the perfect companion for everyday work. Get the Apple pencil too…then you have everything you need!
Bulky, but protective, works well but no software integratio
It’s the only one that worked with my iPad and proven to be functional.
However it lack most of the features that its cousin with touch pad had
The value for the money is not there but at least functional compared to the previous 2 I had which I returned
Excellent Quality Keyboard - Great Value for Money
This is a sturdy and quality keyboard that is built for regular use. The keys are very responsive and the shortcut keys along the top of the keyboard are a brilliant addition. The case’s protective qualities are very good, ensuring that your valuable iPAD Pro is kept safe from bumps and scratches. The only downside of the keyboard is that it is pretty heavy, but that is probably a good compromise for the internal battery that only needs charging every 3 months and doesn’t draw power from the iPAD itself.
Pairing with the iPAD was very easy and every you use the keyboard it automatically re-pairs with the iPAD.
Great quality and performance at the fraction of the price of an Apple alternative.
Premium feels, smooth typing & well built.
Really smooth writing experience. The general build quality is solid and feels really good. It was not as heavy as I was fearing, from what I had been hearing from online reviews! It’s not too bad at all, but of course you miss out on the slim smooth experience of the iPad pro without the cover. I’m a research student and so hope to make use of this as a portable machine for mostly typing and studying.
Bought for the iPad Air 4th generatio
I bought this for the iPad Air 4th generation having seen that the dimensions of the two pads are very similar. I had previously had the Logitech Folio for an earlier generation of the iPad and liked it very much and this one is not a disappointment. The iPad Air fits – the height is identical to the iPad Pro and the width just a fraction wider – so it is a tight fit, but it works. The only drawback is that the touch button for fingerprint recognition is covered and unusable, but the keyboard has a screen on/off key and that works fine; all you have to do is use your personal code instead of fingerprint. Otherwise, the keyboard has the same qualities that endeared me to the earlier version – very direct in operation, large enough to touch-type happily, and with special function keys for a variety of purposes including sound controls for videos. And I don’t miss a trackpad – I tried a couple of cases with detachable keyboards and trackpads and found that the trackpad could interfere with typing if touched accidentally; and you have the inconvenience of having to remove the keyboard everytime you want to close the case – not user friendly. This case overcomes that problem. I can recommend this for the iPad Air 4th gen. as well as for the Pro.
Useful Accessory for my IPad
Neat compact keyboard/touchpad and case which has proved a useful accessory for my iPad. Almost turns it into a mini laptop. The casing provides a tough protective shell for the iPad. Once connected the keyboard/touchpad works well although being detachable it sometimes needs to be removed and re-attached before it works. Illumination feature is really useful. Very happy with this purchase.
Best buy.
Very happy with this keyboard. Minor problem connecting first time round but its been flawless since. I like the way it doesn’t connect unless it’s in the right slot. That allows you to fold the keyboard back and use the ipad as a tablet. Great if your just browsing or using a drawing app. I originally tried the apple keyboard but was not impressed. Way overpriced for such a flimsy bit of kit. The Logitech is a good price and well worth considering if your looking for a keyboard that performs well and doesn’t cost hundreds of pounds.
I had two reasons to buy this keyboard case. The first was to protect my beloved IPad Pro and the second to type on something other than directly on to the screen.
Initial setup was slightly annoying as it seem to fail to recognise the numbers it wanted me to type in. I got it eventually but it wasn’t helped by the setup pamphlet which contains almost no text. That is pretty much the only negative thing I would say about this device and it could have just been user error on my behalf.
In terms of protection, it’s perfect. My iPad is protected in all dimensions from bumps and probably short drops. I’m not about to test that on my expensive piece of glass but I’ve definitely got piece of mind while carrying it around.
When it comes to keyboards Logitech are usually the first I go to when buying a new one because they normally are reasonably priced quality and this is no exception. The keys are very much like those on a quality laptop. Not a huge amount of travel but my fingers definitely know when a key has been pressed. Layout is very standard which meant that I could touch type pretty much straight away and I am entirely new to Mac-like keyboards. I’ve typed this review using the keyboard and it’s been a surprisingly fluid experience.
I had the budget to buy the Magic Keyboard but decided that having a trackpad wasn’t a huge priority to me as I intend to get a Bluetooth mouse. I’ll miss out on gestures but I’ve always preferred mice over trackpads.
What this keyboard has that it’s Magic equivalent doesn’t is the upper row of media keys. It’s very nice to be able to control volume using keys below the screen rather than reaching up to the top left corner and fumble around for volume up or down for example. This is especially handy for watching video.
Overall, while this is a first impressions review I have to say that I’m extremely pleased to own the Slim Folio Pro. I got it on sale for 90 but even at it’s normal price it’s worth the money. It’s turned my iPad into a rugged ultralight laptop on which I can knock out text pretty much anywhere.
While I could be classed as a Logitech fanboy they’ve earned my loyalty. This is a quality product that often exceeds it’s more expensive rivals in certain areas.
This keyboard case is beyond excellent. I returned the Apple Magic Keyboard. This is far better with the extra row of function keys and secure storage for the pencil. Most useful key, I have found, is the Home key. Only downside is it is considerably heavier than the MK however I don’t find it a problem. IMHO it quite definitely turns the iPadPro 12.9 into a laptop. Don’t hesitate as I did – just buy it. You won’t be disappointed.
The best keyboard case I’ve owned
I’ve had this key pad a few days and so far there’s nothing I dont like about it.
I bought this for my iPad 11 inch Pro 1st generation.
The soft exterior feels very nice and gives good protection when closed. The top magnetic flap ensures it doesn’t come open. The bumper pads at the top give good protection if accidentally dropped. The top left bumper that covers the volume buttons makes it so you have to press hard to operate the buttons, but with a previous ipad one of the volume buttons got damaged when dropped, so I’d rather have them protected than have to repair the buttons.
The iPad fits snugly into the case and won’t come out. When you pick up the iPad by the screen it doesn’t tend to unclip from the base as the magnet is quite strong which is a problem with some models I’ve had before.
The keyboard is very nice to use and the keys light up only when you use them to save the battery. I haven’t had it long enough to know how long the battery lasts.
Overall I can’t fault this keyboard at all. It looks and feels lovely and is well made.
Great piece of ki
Great piece of kit for an iPad Pro 2020, and turns the iPad into a real working tool, especially since I prefer to use a Bluetooth mouse rather than a tracker pad. Well made and well thought out.
Awesome product with super long battery life
We have only had this product for a week but it’s great and revolutionises our iPad Air into a laptop on first use. We had a spare apple mouse from another machine and it’s as good as any PC but just lighter and thinner.
The keyboard has the right kind of spring in it for some serious typing. The case exposes the iPad buttons instead of having a button to press another button which I like.
The product’s battery is not rechargeable and lasts for a whopping 4 years! Which wasn’t clear on the description Much better than charging it every evening.
Great pairing with iPad Pro 12.9” 2020
Easy to fit and operate. Very good keyboard feel when typing, and backlight is excellent. Magnetic closure works well so far and battery still going strong. Adds a little bit of mass to the iPad, but well worth it.
Be careful when reading the reviews as they seem to vary widely according to which version of the keyboard was purchased. This is for 4th gen iPad Pro 12.9 Slim Folio.
First impressions are good. It seems to be a sturdy case with good edge protection. The keyboard is excellent, similar to a decent laptop keyboard. When using in “laptop mode” the iPad attaches magnetically to the keyboard and is very stable. When connected there is a short white light to indicate it is connected and then short green light to indicate battery power. When the iPad is detached from the magnetic strip the keyboard is deactivated.
The various iPadOS shortcut keys are handy once you know what they are.
+ Sturdy, good edge protection for your expensive device
+ Good keyboard (as long as it lasts – various negative reviews on key failures)
+ Good value compared to Apple’s ridiculous prices.
=/- Depending on your needs it is a bit bulky and definitely heavy at 900g compared to the iPad’s 640g.
– Can’t see any so far.
Good alternative to apple
Solid build but a bit on the heavy side if your holding the iPad to do work.
Great keyboard and backlights really help.
Good protective cover when closed up and the pen does stay out.
Unfortunately it’s the US keyboard layout not UK as advertised. Bit of a pain that especially as bought specifically for UK customer.
Other than that it’s far better value than the branded apple version.
Works well and sturdy keys
Happy with the purchase. Works well. I like the sturdiness of the keys. Doesn’t look too attractive when closed though and for some reason it has a really strong smell which still hadn’t faded after a couple of weeks. Hopefully it will.
Quality Case and Keyboard
I’ve purchased three of these now for work and prefer them greatly over the Apple keypads we also have that offer no back protection to the iPad. The keys on the Logitech case are also very comparable to laptop keyboards which make for comfortable typing (admittedly, this is subjective). I find you have to put more effort into the Apple keyboard when pressing. Some have complained about keys falling off – we use these quite heavily and no issues yet.
Ill be honest, the price of this Logitech Slim Folio keyboard case put me off buying for a long while but reviews of other much cheaper alternatives were a concern. I was also troubled at being unable to get a definitive answer from Logitech – is it or isn’t it compatible with the new iPad 8th generation (2020) that i just bought? The description says for iPad 7th generation. However, the chassis of the iPad 8 is identical to iPad 7, so logically it should work….and I can confirm that it does, despite Logitech eventually declaring it isn’t compatible!
The case is on the chunky side but very sturdy and very protective. iPad 8 fits it nicely. Bluetooth pairing is very easy…simple instructions are provided…and the keys are nicely spaced and highly responsive, with iPad keyboard shortcuts like home, volume, brightness, etc. When closed the iPad is automatically turned off and protected from the keys through great design and rubber seals. iPad wakes immediately the lid is opened and, when typing, is held in place by really firm magnetic attraction, linking automatically. Extremely sturdy without any chance of slipping while in use. If anything its a bit of a tug to free it once in place. It can also be rested on top of the keyboard if not required, of course.
So all in all, I’m very impressed, despite the cost and despite Logitech’s compatibility denial. You do get what you pay for and this is worth every penny in my opinion. And, backed by a 2 year warranty.
I wanted this keyboard case so much, I’ve watched many videos about it, it’s beautiful and it turns your iPad into a laptop. Well, this promise is fulfilled indeed, this case works exactly as advertised, and it does look beautiful. I only have one minor problem with it: the key travel is tiny. It’s almost like typing on a plastic touch screen. The buttons don’t go down more than a millimetre. I think I can live with it, and you shouldn’t worry too much about it either, it’s just an information that can help you decide. Otherwise a high quality product.
The keyboard on this is amazing, touchpad, decent key travel and responsiveness, key backlighting, function keys (yay), keys for home and lock, magnetic attachment to smart connector. So much better than the Apple folio case keyboard in every respect, albeit heavier than that. But, the back that comes with this with the kickstand is ugly and very heavy. It makes the whole package heavier than a macbook which kind of defeats the point of iPad Pro. So I found a better solution, use the Logitech keyboard and discard the back. I used a Moft stick-on prop stand instead. This is the perfect combination.
But to reiterate the keyboard is amazing. If I upgrade to a newer iPad next year (Pro or Air) I hope that by then there is a similar Logitech keyboard because this is better and lighter and much cheaper than the new iPad magic keyboards.
There is ONLY ONE REASON that I purchased this keyboard – corner protection. Shame on Apple for effectively ‘designing out’ corner protection from the current iPad Pro model when used with an Apple Keyboard. Thank you to Logitech to coming to the rescue. It is true this is notably heavier than the Apple Keyboard options (of which I would have gone with the Smart Keyboard and not the Magic) BUT I’d would MUCH rather suffer that bulk than have an unprotected iPad Pro.
Great product and great value for money.
I just want to add I had to return my first one because it broke in the bottom left hand corner for some odd reason so it only gets 4 stars from me ,
Apart from that its a massive win win when you compare it to the price of Apple 350 ! version WTF Apple lol
At 80 mark this is a top product and its now tuned my ipad pro in to a laptop ! I would like to say it can be a little laggy sometimes so its not super fast like a wired keyboard but its not a problem , works great and now I can sit in bed and write emails and chat on social media.
Awesome piece of ki
12″ iPad an Apple pencil and now this. It’s a lovely piece of kit. no issues on connecting it to the iPad and its feel and the way it works are superb. I don’t think there’s better out there.
Recommend above the Apple version (price considering)
Really great product. Battery life good. Fits my Ipad Pro 12.5 perfectly. It doesnt have the touch pad. Not a massive deal for me, but would be a great extra. Definitely recommend above the Apple version, especially considering the price difference. However, if you have money to burn (or if someone else is buying), buy the Apple one.
Amazing.....
One word to describe this case/keyboard….. “Amazing” !
The whole package is perfect. I love the protective aspect and the feel of the case is superb. My expectations were met + 10.
I paid 79 for the case and I feel it is worth every penny and more. It it tactile and the keys have a fabulous feel to them. This is by far the best ipad case I have come across in years.
Logitech…… You get my approval and your designers deserve a pat on the back!
Beauty And Elegance - Bu
A thing of beauty and elegance! Transforms my IPad Air 3 into a laptop replacement (almost).
The responsiveness is breathtaking and easily stands its own against genuine Apple keyboards. As it should because Logitech work direct with Apple on these 3rd party items and it’s also sold on Apple’s website. That means something.
Brilliant in every way… except one! It’s bloody heavy!
But one for your IPad Air 3 now!
Fantastic case, definitely recommend.
I bought this as a replacement for my apple keyboard case I’ve had for about a year. The Apple case’s magnets were not strong at all and seemed to be getting weaker, which was super frustrating since that case was entirely held to the ipad from the magnets. I didn’t like that it didn’t have any protection, and was literally just a cover with a keyboard (and a pretty rubbish stand).
I got the logitech case since there weren’t many other options, and I’ve been really pleasantly surprised at how much I like it! It makes the ipad heavier, but it feels really solid and much nicer to hold. The ipad feels protected. I absolutely love the loop for the apple pencil, and the keyboard with the trackpad really do make the ipad into a little laptop. The keyboard is really nice and full featured, and the trackpad works well enough and makes the ipad much nicer to use alongside the keyboard vs the apple case with no trackpad. One of my favourite features is the stand, it allows you to use multiple angles and feels really really solid. It seems like a small thing but its made all the difference for me in my day-to-day usage.
This case has made my ipad 10x more pleasant.
It would’ve been much nicer if the keyboard was worked into the case in a way that it could fold backwards so that you don’t have to detach it every time you want to use the ipad as a tablet, but otherwise it’s a great case.
Lovely Case
Don’t normally write review, but the case is so so good! the keyboard don’t need any charging! Make my note taking and lecture life much easier!
It is bit pricy, but in my opinion it worth the money! will be nice if its bit cheaper. Made my study well efficient tho.
better than the apple smart keyboard folio
I had the apple smart keyboard, which is nice but has many flaws – no backlight, no function key and uncomportable keys, but the worst thing was that the smart keyboard offers no protection at all for the corners and the sides of the ipad, so when one day i diccoverd and tiny but annoying scratch on the corner of my ipad i bought this keyboard, and it really has everything the smart keyboard doesn’t have, and it offers great protection for the ipad.
A very useful tool
The keyboard is great to use once the bluetooth has it connected. I gave it a 4 star because it could have been better if it had lights, but then I guess that would require more charging, whereas currently this doesn’t need charging. The other reason for my 4 star is it doesn’t have levels to vary the angle of the ipad which also would have been an added benefit. But other than that it is very handy and convenient. It’s a great size and the magnet is also great for the ipad to connect. No complaints and is of good quality.
Edit Feb 2022
We are now on our third one of these because after a while the keys fall off. The first lasted 6 months, the second one 9 months. All has been covered by Logitech’s warranty though with full replacements so I’m not out of pocket; their customer service has been excellent. I still like it but not sure if I would actually buy another as for the money I’d like something more durable.

Very impressed with this. The keyboard feels unexpectedly solid and sturdy to type on- much like a regular Mac magic keyboard If I’m honest. The iPad side of it is held in place with a strong magnet that locks it into position and is held very securely. It’s not so great for typing on your knee like a regular laptop as it’s back/heavy, but on a flat surface (even a lap tray) it’s very stable. You basically just flip it open and the whole thing works straight away- no waiting for it to link up or anything. And the screen powers off automatically when you close it. It’s also constructed so there is a gap between keyboard and screen when it’s closed so you won’t cause wear and tear on the touch screen. The pen holder is a loop of vinyl which also accommodates the Logitech Mac Crayon. Doesn’t seem flimsy though so hopefully that should hold up. Altogether I’m really impressed. Especially as there’s a dedicated home button on the keyboard which makes it feel and work like a touch-screen laptop. Altogether works really well for my son to take to school as he can use it for typing, and then flips the keyboard behind when he uses it as a digital notebook with the Mac crayon, or as an e-reader. He even stuck the apple sticker on the back of it which looks pretty integrated. So impressed. Plan to buy this setup again for our daughter as she will also need to be tech-ed up for her school in September.
Does the job well
Excellent item for turning the iPad into a mini laptop. I was looking for a case with a keyboard and decided to buy this pricier item over the cheaper generic options found elsewhere on Amazon. The keyboard has a good typing action and I found that I can touch type really quickly. There is plenty of travel (certainly relative to my MacBook). The keyboard only switches on and connects when the magnet clicks into place which is good. Closing the ‘lid’ puts the whole system into sleep mode which is handy. I also have the Logitech ‘crayon’ which just about squeezes into the flap at the top – though it was clearly designed for the official Apple Pencil. As others have noted it’s not exactly slim and does add weight and heft, though maintains the small ipad footprint, so easily fits into a bag. There is only one viewing angle and it’s a little unstable on the lap (though putting a book underneath steadies it nicely. I’d happily recommend as it does add functionality to the ipad and seems reliable and well made.
Really Nice Item
Very well made and the keyboard keys have a really nice positive action. It is bigger than I expected and the description of ‘slim’ is pushing it slightly. That being said it offers great protection and the magnet to hold the iPad up is very strong. Some have said its not easy to use on your lap but I haven’t had a problem. The cover marks very easily but can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Works perfectly
My children took to this keyboard instantly. It worked perfectly. the build quality is great. And actually makes the whole iPad experience better – believe it or not. I think this keyboard offers tremendous value for the price and I highly recommend it.
Highly reccomend
he case essentially turns ipad 7 into a pretty decent laptop/convertible. it protects ipad well, and also has an excellent keyboard. well worth the money. i bought the Logitech crayon too and i think it looks very stylish as a full setup. very happy. pairing initially was a bit confusing but once done it just works
I spent some time researching keyboards to use with my iPad Air (3rd gen, 10.5″). I had a Logitech keyboard for an older iPad and I knew it was a good brand. I’m really pleased with this. Compared with other Logitech keyboards this one is specifically for the iPad Air 3rd gen. Others say they are compatible but designed primarily for other models. I use a separate case for my iPad when not using the keyboard, so it doesn’t matter to me that the iPad case is attached to the keyboard. It’s lightweight and easily portable and a nice, compact piece of kit. The keyboard feels sturdy and is easy to type on. Overall the look and feel of this indicates a high quality product and I’m really pleased with my choice. It’s easy to set up and is advertised as having a 4 year battery life.
This keyboard is sold in the Apple stores too, which was another factor in choosing it. I didn’t want to pay the price of the Apple keypad, and Logitech is clearly a good comparable brand to use with iPads.
Bought it before getting the iPad
I wanted an iPad 10.2inch or a 10.5 inch and wanted a keyboard, no other keyboard came close to the looks and quality and price of this, got this for 100 from here.
This keyboard alone made my mind up for me with what iPad to get, I bought the 10.2 to be able to use this keyboard, wise decision if you decide on getting this my friends.
