I needed a set of calipers to take some measurements that required a high degree of accuracy. I verified the efficiency of these calipers against previous accurate measurements of some items. I am please to say they work well and are easy to use.

Oddly, my non waterproof vernier calliper arrived inside the cardboard sleeve of the waterproof version. Still, I got what I ordered. Makes me wonder if it was new or previously used and returned.

I’ve been struggling more and more recently to read my old faithful vernier calipers I’ve had for 50 years and finally took the plunge to digital with these. Have to say its a nice bit of kit. Well constructed and solid, accurate and makes life so much easier. Don’t know why I didn’t switch sooner. I’ll store the old ones away now in the mementos box alongside my slide rule

For some reason I wasn’t expecting the world with these, but the solid metal construction and low price got me curious. I made photographic lens measurement for lens gear I was having made, not knowing that I already had the data provided to me from the manufacturer. When I did my measurements, they were accurate to 1/10 of a millimetre of the manufacturer’s measurements of the lens! Impressed! And they come with a case and spare batteries.

I had a metal & plastic version bought from China, worked fine for a while, but just became erratic and unreliable, so i figured i’d try this all metal version.
Have to say its a lot better than my old one, nice and smooth, accurate, very pleased overall, hopefully it last well too.
Pleased to say this doesn’t suffer from the battery drain issue i had with the old one either…you’d leave the battery in but even though it was powered off the next time you went to use it the battery would be dead….no issues on that front with this one I’m pleased to say

Old set of digital calipers was acting up, would not read beyond 50mm. Struggled with it for far longer than I care to admit. Finally decided to take plunge and get a new set. Great buy! 5 stars without a doubt. Works perfectly no issues yet.

ok item is good its not plastic even the slider. but its made with steel not aluminium. its very heavy very uncomfortable all edges are sharp and some areas sharp and rough just feels awkward to handle. i think i use a Dremel to bure the edges or just simple bit of we and dry sanding paper it will feel so much better in hand. but good solid produc

On delivery, it only indicated approx 50% of the real measurement. Eg gives a reading of 5mm when measuring a 10mm object. Same problem when measuring in inches. Replacing the battery solved this problem.

I had to replace a floorboard. Suffering from extreme back pain I was struggling to read a tape measure for the gap. So I bought and used this item. What a difference. Read the gap perfectly in a second. Might not need to use it again but at least I have it now, just in case.

Bought to replace a ‘middle isle’ one that lasted 5 years with very little use. This ones quality feels head and shoulders above the previous one. It appears to be nearly all metal and the buttons have a positive quality feel. The display is easy to read and comes in a box with instructions, a screwdriver for the battery cover and a spare battery. The action is nice and smooth and I am very happy with it.

I love these electronic verniers, they are marked at 0.001 but you just reset and get a perfect reading (probably too perfect as I am now finding a lot of thing are not true about stated diameters)
I am an avid angler and often need to be sure things are as they say they are and to buy add ons to protect my equipment, I have found when using manufacturers guide lines they are way out, now I can request the correct diameter with confidence,
These are a great buy and are made from stainless steel, (not sure of the grade but time will reveal rhe quality)
I love these and would recommend every angler should own a decent vernie

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI needed some decent Calipers to measure wood thickness for a project I am currently working on.

Having looked at several on amazon I decided on these based on the reviews. I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. These are a really good set of reasonably priced callipers. They are made from stainless steel and even the digital display is metal and not cheap plastic. With this product you can accurately take both the external and internal measurements up to 15cm. You also have a depth gauge on the other end.

Upon testing them the measure seemed very accurate, i did need to reset them to zero every time i took them out but that is no hardship. You can measure in either mm or inches.

I only have one negative thing to say about this product and that is it comes in a cheap plastic box, but i suppose it keeps it safe!

Overall I think this is an excellent product and if you are looking for a decent set of callipers then i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these.

Golden Review Award: 14 From Our UsersIt been well over a year since I bought these to assist me in 3D modelling. When modelling I need to accurately measure fixture and fittings of things I intend to affix my 3D printing model onto. I’ve used so much i’m now on my 3rd battery (note it comes with 1 spare which was nice) so I feel Ive used it enough to get give a fair review.

The unit has a nice weight about it. The metal casing is just that, all of it is metal including the battery cover. The jaws come together parallel, straight and flush. There is no play in the jaws on the open/close orientation. There is a tiny bit of play with the top jaw forward and back. Not enough so that there is a gap between the edges and it doesn’t affect the accuracy of measurement.

You can separate the jaws using the adjustment wheel. The operation feels quite precise and you can dial in increments of 0.01 if you so desire. The wheels themselves have a lot of play but that has no affect to their use.

Overall however the constructions feels good.

Like many of this type of design you can measure outer , inner and depth of an item. There is also a nut to lock the callipers or to provide a bit more resistance to adjustments..

The LCD display has a clear contrast and even at an angle. Only the transparent screen’s reflection makes the screen hard to read at more extreme angles.

There are 3 buttons which again are metal and provide a nice tactile “click”.

The first button is to switch between millimetres and inches. Reading 0.01 mm and the inches 0.001 but will actually display 0.0005 of an inch , which is roughly 0.01 mm. The scales do move that low level of increments but the stated accuracy is only 0.02 mm.

The second button is to zero. I always find the callipers register 0.00 when closed so the Zero button I only use it if I want to do an offset between two points.

As expected there is an on/off button and the unit will automatically switch itself off. Because these are vernier scales, if you’ve left the callipers open on a reading and it switches itself off, turning it back on will bring back the reading its at. The callipers will also automatically turn themselves on if you make any adjustment to the jaws, ie open them. It does mean that sometimes when you put them down or move them they it will turn itself on.

The stated battery life is a battery every year with heavy use. I’ve exceed that. I don’t know whether its a reflection of the quality of the batteries as I although I’ve used them regularly I wouldnt say I used the continuously. I don’t really see this as an issue.

Overall I’m super happy with this set especially considering the price. Yes there is a bit of play in some components but not a way that undermines its function and its ability to measure.

I had a plastic caliper (1?) that my Dad gave me years ago which did me proud until I couldn’t read the marks on the plastic anymore. I then bought a cheap (8) plastic digital caliper that worked ok but I kept on accidentally taking the battery compartment lid off when using it. This one is sturdy, metal, has a thumb wheel for precise measurements, and a battery compartment lid that is held in with a screw. The case holds not only the caliper but also the screwdriver to take the screw out! It also has a small screw grub to hold the measurement to stop it from moving. My feeling is that you only live once so treat yourself to tools that put a smile on your face, and this digital caliper does it for me. I use it for ensuring I don’t go too deep when drilling, measuring screw length and diameter, raw plug sizes, and also for the tread depth on my car tyres. Call me sad, but it makes me happy and I don’t think I will ever need to (or want to) buy another digital caliper for the rest of my life. Sorted.

My trusty digital caliper of many years finally refused to recognise a new battery, and with large and clear digits plus a stated very long battery life, this looked to be a good replacement.

The caliper is presented in a nice plastic box with dense foam padding. Included is a replacement battery, but there is already one fitted so I didn’t need to break into the spare (and, hopefully, won’t need to for at least a year!). Likewise, the screwdriver that gives access to the battery compartment wasn’t required yet, but it’s a nice touch to have it in the box too.

The body of the caliper is definitely all-metal as opposed to the mostly-plastic of some. As a result it is quite hefty, which is somewhat reassuring in a strange way. Also a step above other calipers are the buttons, which have a definite click on pressing – almost keyboard-like – which exudes quality. Movement is smooth and notch-free, which reinforces the good feel. Not that one really needs to use the buttons – the display is turned on automatically when the jaw is moved, and turns off automatically after 5 minutes on no movement.

None of this means anything if the caliper doesn’t actually measure anything very well. Attached are two photos of a standard 25mm block being measured and, as you can see, the result is spot on, not just at the tip but all the way along the jaws. Repeatability, which is just as important as a one-off reading, is excellent too.

Golden Review Award: 25 From Our UsersI haven’t calibrated it, but I’ve measured the little screwdriver that comes with it and I get *exactly* the same reading every time, accurate to 0.01mm. I measured a postit note too, and it was sensitive enough to read that (0.09mm / 0.003 inches), which according to 3M is exactly on the money. Again, same reading every single time.
I can’t verify that the readings are objectively accurate, but they are exactly the same every single time I measure the same spot on a solid material.

Roller wheel is a bit wiggly, but not about to come loose at all. I think maybe they made it wiggly so that it wasn’t in contact with the track all of the time and so doesn’t get worn out. It also means that you son’t have to manhandle it to get it to move, so I’m happy.
Pointing this out so that people don’t think that they’ve been sent a faulty one more than anything.

The screw on the top isn’t mentioned in the instructions, but it just locks the caliper in place at a desired point. So you can measure something, lock it in place, then compare it to something else without having to faff with getting it to read the same value manually (it’s very sensitive).

    Feels well made.

Very happy. It’s nice not to pay the earth for something but to get a really nice quality thing.

I paid for this myself, this is not a sponsored review, I’m just really happy with it. I honestly don’t have anything negative to say.

P.S: Come with a battery installed, and has a spare in the case. LR44 incase you need a replacement in the future. Neato.
